According to a report from PWInsider, WWE has informed Paige that her in-ring days with the company are over. This comes after her latest injury, which came at a time when she was hot thanks to her return and the Absolution stable with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.
Paige returned to WWE late last year after a two-year period of some very public struggles, and most of the fan base was extremely happy to see her back and in great condition–not only physically, but mentally and emotionally.
Paige had a neck procedure less than a year ago, and was injured in December at a WWE live event. She hasn’t wrestled since that show at the Nassau Coliseum. Per PWInsider’s report, it is all related to her neck issues.
If true, this ends what was an amazingly promising in-ring career for Paige, who is only 25-years old. Paige, however, has an electric personality, and could follow the Corey Graces path of working in front of a camera. In fact, Paige might have the best shot at being the WWE’s first female commentator when you combine her knowledge and speaking ability.
Just today, Paige posted on Instagram with the statement “the comeback is always stronger than the setback.” Time will tell if she’s done and moves into a different role.
