3. NJPW/ROH Honor Rising: Golden Lovers vs Cody & Marty Scurll

Marty looks to have finally taken sides. Not necessarily on Cody’s side, but he feels betrayed that Kenny chose Ibushi over Bullet Club.

So with that, Marty’s resolve was much better Day 2 than Day 1, and it made for an entertaining match. All four guys put a lot out there, and even busted out some new moves. Cody for example, tried a springboard lariat onto Kenny on the outside, but from the far side of one of the corners. It didn’t look clean since his legs hit the apron before reach Kenny, but the effort was noticeable. Also it allowed for a funny bit with Marty screaming to the crowd ” He’s okay”.

Cody wasn’t the only one with some issues, since the Golden Lovers seemed to not really know how to execute their Cross Slash (Double Golden Triangle Moonsaults) and took at least 40 seconds pick a corner and trying to figure it out.

So all of this being said, much like the Flip Godon match, it had technical issues, but this one told a great story and had spots to keep the viewers invested. Afterwards also solidified rumors of the Young Bucks going heavyweight and shows more tension between other members and Kenny.
