Two New Names Expected for 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame

Published

on

Dave Meltzer recently discussed the WWE Hall Of fame in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He stated that Bam Bam Bigelow & Kid Rock should round out this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class.

WWE will hold their annual Hall of Fame ceremony on Friday, April 6th in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Smoothie King Center. Goldberg has been tagged to headline the class. This event takes place two nights prior to Wrestlemania and has been great recently.

Here is a list of names that have been confirmed to be inducted in this year’s 2018 Hall of Fame class:

  • Bill Goldberg
  • Ivory
  • Jeff Jarrett
  • The Dudley Boyz

My Thoughts:

Bam Bam was a superstar that was ahead of his time. In addition to being successful in WWE, he saw the most of his success elsewhere. He certainly is a good name for a class of WWE “outsiders”. With his tenure in ECW and WCW being such a success he fits in with everyone else.

Kid Rock is slated to go into the celebrity wing, due to all the music he’s done for WWE. He has done quite a few theme songs for PPV events and seems to enjoy wrestling. While he will not be a popular pick to be added, he deserves a celebrity spot.

I can certainly see both of them getting the nod. Also I don’t have an issue with either individual being inducted this year. This is a rumor I can fully get behind. I believe that one of them will be announced on Raw next week.

WWE News: Latest On Possible Injury To Dakota Kai Over The Weekend

Dakota Kai
An update on the possible injury to NXT’s Dakota Kai!

Over the weekend, the WWE NXT brand was in two separate parts of the United States for Live Events as the majority of the roster’s top talent was off to the midwest while another portion of the Superstars stayed back in Florida for shows.

Friday night, the event outside of Florida took place in Green Bay, Wisconsin and featured a pretty quality card for a non-televised show (check out the results here). Among the action on that evening was a 6-Woman Tag Team Match as NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler partnered with Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir to take on Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai & Kairi Sane. The team of Candice, Dakota and Kairi would pick up the victory, but unfortunately they didn’t all come away from the match unscathed.

During the contest, Dakota appeared to have injured her leg and after being checked on by the referee, the “X” symbol to signify an injury appeared and the match continued without her. There had been no updates on Dakota’s status since, but there has now been some word that is not good news.

According to F4WOnline, Dakota has undergone an MRI and while the exact details on any possible damage are yet to be revealed, it’s being said that the belief is she has suffered a torn ACL. Of course if this is in fact the case, Dakota would be looking at anywhere from 6-10 months on the shelf barring setbacks. The Chairshot will provide further updates as they become available.

WWE News: Performance Center Tryouts Starting Tomorrow, Who Is Attending?

Published

Information on who is attending this week’s WWE Performance Center tryouts!

While it’s been noted that WWE is expected to announce a new Performance Center class in January that could include the likes of Trevor Lee (read more on that here) and ACH (find that here), there will be tryouts held at the facility this week beginning tomorrow.

As for who will be attending the tryouts this week, PWInsider is reporting they have confirmed four names, one of which will be pretty recognizable to fans of independent wrestling. You usually see her alongside of the currently injured Joey Janela, but this week Penelope Ford will be one of the attendees at WWE’s tryouts. The 26-year old’s biggest appearances have all come roughly within the last year, as she’s been seen at All In, challenging Jazz for the NWA Women’s Title at NWA’s 70th Anniversary, on MLW Fusion and a lot of other places in between.

The other three names known at this time are relative newcomers to the business. The first being Eric Spicely, a 32-year old former UFC Middleweight competitor who has been working some dates for Beyond Wrestling. Next is Tehuti Miles, a 28-year old, former University Of Maryland football player and war veteran who has been through a WWE tryout in the past. Lastly is Courtney Lemmings, a 22-year old model and actor who also is currently an NPC bodybuilder.
