Published

WWE Brock Lesnar Royal Rumble 2

Brad Shepard of BodySlam.net is reporting that the incident with Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon was a work. You can read our report about it here. Shepard has stated that someone within WWE has told him this. Here are his comments below:

“According to the source, the incident was either a complete work designed to manipulate pro wrestling news sites who they knew the news would leak to, or it was severely over hyped.”

It was said there was a heated exchange between the champion and the owner, that even included Lesnar throwing the title at Vince. Brock Lesnar has signed a new deal and will be defending his title against Reigns at “The Greatest Royal Rumble”.

WWE Smackdown Live Weekly YouTube Report (4/19/18)

Published

on

Smackdown Live is only a two hour show and tends not to have the numbers Raw does. A good base number for Smackdown Live is 400k views. Anything that is given time, story and purpose should post atleast 400k views. Let’s take a look at the highest viewed clips of the week from Smackdown Live:

  1. Jeff Hardy joins Smackdown Live: 2.9 million views
  2. Jey Uso vs. Luke Harper: 2 million views
  3. Daniel Bryan/A.J. Styles vs. Rusev/Aiden English: 1.2 million views
  4. Asuka joins Team Blue: 1.1 million views
  5. Jeff Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin: 1 million Views
  6. Big Cass Confronts Daniel Bryan: 1 million Views
  7. Samoa Joe debuts on Smackdown Live: 974k views

The big winner this week is clearly Jeff Hardy. WWE has a major star in Jeff Hardy, again. He not only did over 2 million views on Raw but in total did an additional 3.9 million views on Smackdown Live. This name needs to be watched as if he keeps posting 1 million plus every segment then you can make an arguement he is on Roman Reigns level of popularity.

Also something that should be taken notice of is Jey Uso and Luke Harper. Something that I always take into consideration is the thumbnail picture WWE decides to use. WWE chose to use Naomi sitting in front of Jey begging off Harper and Rowan. If you want proof of the demographic that looks at these here it is. This video did 2 MILLION views or double Daniel Bryan and A.J. Styles this week. They also had a non televised backstage segment do over 500k views or 5x what Elias did for a televised segment. Do not mistake what I’m saying, I’m not saying Jey or Luke should be in the main event, I’m saying people watched this because of the REALITY of the situation. WWE needs to utilize Total Divas storylines and real life relationships to help superstars. This was the most interesting thing I saw from YouTube numbers this week.

I would have liked to see Miz and The Bar do better numbers on their announcements. Granted they were televised they are backstage segments where the descriptions didn’t drive a strong reason to click. Other than that yet again Smackdown has done another great job on YouTube.

Published

on

The Young Bucks did an interview with Sporting News and during the discussion spoke about the All In event. Specifically they were asked about CM Punk possibly bringing at the event.

Here is what they had to say:

Here is a quote from the Bucks about Punk and their ‘All-In’ show:

“Matt Jackson: “I will say this: I text message Punk on a weekly basis. We’re good friends. We talk wrestling. He still loves wrestling, of course he does. We’re pro wrestlers. That’s what we do. Even when you quit or retire or whatever, it’s still in your blood.”

Nick Jackson: “Hell yeah I would like those guys [Punk and Daniel Bryan]. Those names would be icing on the cake. … But I don’t think we need them to get to 10,000. With the card we have in mind, I think that should do it.”
