WWE Comments On Cena & Undertaker WrestleMania Match

Published

on

John Cena WWE WrestleMania 34

WWE released the following:

After coming up short in several attempts to secure a WrestleMania bout, including the Royal Rumble Match, a career-altering contest inside Elimination Chamber and a WWE Championship Six-Pack Challenge Match at WWE Fastlane, John Cena has seen his Road to WrestleMania hit a dead end.

However, before accepting his fate and preparing to go to The Showcase of the Immortals as a member of the WWE Universe, The Leader of the Cenation decided to exhaust one more option and challenged The Undertaker to a one-on-one match on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Unfortunately for the 16-time World Champion, no response came one way or the other, prompting the frustrated Superstar to employ drastic measures and actually call The Deadman a coward! Though this resulted in Cena being assaulted by Kane before defeating him in a No Disqualification Match the following week, there was still no word from The Demon of Death Valley.

Finally, on the final Monday Night Raw before WrestleMania, Cena seemingly lost hope that the epic contest would take place, delivering a somber and, at times acidic, final message to The Deadman before walking up the ramp.

So, what now for Cena? With The Undertaker offering no answer to his challenge, perhaps the showdown between the two iconic Superstars is simply not meant to be. Is Cena destined to experience this year’s Showcase of The Immortals as a spectator? Will he aid another Superstar to victory or perhaps offer his expert knowledge of The Grandest Stage of Them All as a guest commentator? Or, is there still a chance that a match between John Cena and The Undertaker may take place? Find out this Sunday at WrestleMania, streaming live on WWE Network at a special start time of 7 ET/4 PT!

IMPACT News: Petey Williams Says Austin Aries Is Done With IMPACT Wrestling

Published

on

One night after IMPACT Wrestling’s Bound For Glory in Queens, New York, many fans are still left wondering if the moments immediately following the night’s main event were legit or part of the show.

Of course, we’ve all seen and know about the feud between the now-IMPACT World Champion Johnny Impact and Austin Aries seemingly becoming personal on social media. Then, there was the subsequent press conference brawl filled with obscenities that also blurred the lines of entertainment and reality with the fans. Finally, Impact hit Aries with his Starship Pain finisher at Bound For Glory for the three count, Austin nonchalantly rose right to his feet and proceeded to exit the arena while offering middle fingers in numerous directions.

It was later reported that Aries had gone home after the show and wouldn’t be at tonight or tomorrow’s television tapings, which turned out to be the case thus far as he was not present this evening. This led to a lot of talk that Aries was done with the company, since he would not be on IMPACT television for the foreseeable future by missing this week’s tapings.

Today, IMPACT Wrestling star and producer Petey Williams stated on his Wrestling Perspective Podcast that Aries’ contract with the promotion is in fact finished:

“Austin Aries’ contract is done, that match was his last match under contract with IMPACT.”

He would also describe speaking with both Aries and Johnny Impact after the match:

“I am a very professional person. I asked him if he was okay, if he was hurt. I said thank you. I talked to Johnny, asked him if he was okay, told him good match. I talked to Johnny today about a couple things he could’ve tweaked in the match. I did talk to Aries a little bit. I’m not privy to his contract, so I asked what’s next. He said today was his last day under contract and he wasn’t going to be on TV, I left it at that. I got him a ride back to the hotel and haven’t heard from him since.”

WWE News: Sasha Banks Makes Her Return To RAW

Published

on

It has been a few weeks now since WWE announced that RAW Superstar Sasha Banks was suffering from an injury, as she was removed from the Mixed Match Challenge and replaced by Mickie James (check that out here).

While there have been no details given on what exactly is ailing ‘The Boss’, there had been speculation she’s dealing with another back injury (see that story here), something that plagued her in the Fall of 2016. Last week, it was revealed that Sasha was being advertised for Live Events next weekend, more specifically the October 20th show at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine (find that here).

Before the RAW roster gets there though, Sasha would make her return on tonight’s episode of RAW instead. While ‘The Boss’ was not in action, she was with Bayley in the corner of Natalya as Nattie went one-on-one with Ruby Riott. The match would eventually break down, leading to Banks getting physically involved and clearing the ring alongside Bayley.
