WWE Backlash Results: Intercontinental Championship

The crowd at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey was on fire for the opener of tonight’s WWE Backlash Main card. The Miz challenged Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship, a rematch ‘The A-Lister’ was owed prior to the Superstar Shake-Up that sent him to SmackDown Live. The people were clearly behind the champion and the cagey challenger was able to stay in the battle, taking advantage of an overzealous Rollins. ‘The KingSlayer’ would misfire on a Revolution Knee from the apron, striking his knee off the ring post instead. The Miz would take advantage and slap on the Figure Four, but Seth would reach the ropes and kick out after TWO Skull Crushing Finales. Miz would unsuccessfully try a third, eventually leading to the Stomp for Rollins to retain.
