WWE News: Styles vs. Nakamura Announced For SmackDown Live

Published

on

After it was announced this morning by SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon that WWE Champion AJ Styles would again defend his title against Shinsuke Nakamura at Money In The Bank, many fans were left wondering why no stipulation was added to the match. Their last meeting at Backlash of course ended after both guys connected on a low blow at the same time, getting them both unable to answer a 10 count despite the match being No Disqualification. This is also after their match at Greatest Royal Rumble ended on by disqualification.

WWE has now announced that Styles will go one-on-one with Shinsuke tomorrow night on SmackDown Live, the winner of the match getting to choose the stipulation for MITB on June 17th:

Extreme Rules Results: Kickoff – Tables Match

Published

on

Following Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas’ victory over Sin Cara, the second match on tonight’s Extreme Rules Kickoff was our first gimmick match of the night, a Tables Match. On the eve of the Fourth Of July and the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating contest, The New Day looked to start a tradition of their own with a Pancake Eating Content on SmackDown Live. Just as thing got going however, SAnitY attacked and put an exclamation point on the ambush by driving Xavier Woods through a table.

At the bell, chaos broke out which seems like it would favor SAnitY, however The New Day showed early on that they too have an aggressive side. Woods, Kofi and Big E would go for the table early, leaving them vulnerable and open to attack, which is exactly what SAnitY would do. The unorthodox nature of Eric Young, Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe had New Day off-balance, EY and Wolfe double teaming Big E for an extended period of time in the ring. Kofi and Xavier would stop the onslaught briefly with some high-flying, but ‘The Beast Of Belfast’ would show his athleticism as well, quickly taking back over the match with a suicide dive.

SAnitY would attempt to not only send Kofi through a table, but possibly end his career by stacking two on top of each other, one upside-down. Fortunately, Big E and Woods were able to help him avoid it with a huge stacked double stomp out of the corner. The two triads would continue battling back-and-forth and as Kofi fought Wolfe on the apron, EY would seize the opening to drive him down through a table on the floor to finish it.

Extreme Rules Results: Kickoff Match – Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas vs. Sin Cara

Published

on

As fans still filed into the PPG Paints Arena for Extreme Rules, the first action of the evening got underway on the Kickoff. After an exciting match recently on SmackDown Live, Sin Cara came up on the losing end of things against Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas, but got his opportunity to right that wrong tonight.

Sin Cara pushed the pace right at the bell, leaving Almas staggering and looking to recover on the outside. Andrade turned the tide by side-stepping a suicide dive, sending Sin Cara crashing into the barricade. Cien would take the opening and control the match from that point, but couldn’t keep the masked man down forever. Sin Cara would again utilize his high-flying to battle back, spiking Andrade with a nasty looking headscissors takedown that almost finished it off.

The fight would be taken to the top turnbuckle where both men would take brutal falls to the floor, Sin Cara would recover first though and roll Almas into the ring. Scoring with a frog splash was the masked man and Zelina Vega sensed defeat was in the cards for her investment, so she distracted Sin Cara. Cien took advantage, delivering a running dropkick, following with the running knees in the corner and then the Hammerlock DDT for the win.
