War Raiders VS Ricky Martinez & Justin Storm!

Ray Rowe & Hanson have already wrecked team after team since joining NXT, and are ready to wreck some more. Storm starts against Warbeard Hanson and tie up. Hanson powers Storm right to a corner, and dares him to come back. Storm is wary but he does, only for Hanson to cartwheel and clothesline him down! Hanson drags Storm up and tosses him to the corner. Tag to Rowe, to feed Storm to Hanson’s knee, then Hanson feeds Storm to Rowe’s forearm. Rowe glares at Storm as he drags him around. Rowe DARES Martinez to tag in, and Martinez accepts.

Martinez is wary of Rowe, but throws a forearm. It does nothing but make Rowe grin. Rowe dares Martinez to do more, so he does, but Rowe headbutts the forearm away. Rowe then gives Martinez a knee and a discus elbow! Martinez goes down, but Rowe is not done with him. Rowe puts Martinez in the corner and tags Hanson. Hanson runs in for the splash, then feeds Martinez to the Shotgun Knees. Rowe picks Hanson up, spinebuster hip attack in the corner! Martinez is dazed, but fans chant “War! War!” But then Storm runs in and attacks Hanson from behind. Bad move, because Hanson just seethes.¬†Hanson grabs Storm and Rowe gives him the Ace Ten Mao! Rowe then tags Hanson back in, and drags Martinez up. Fans know what this means: FALLOUT! Cover, War Raiders win!

Winners: War Raiders, Hanson pinning

The warpath continues in NXT, will these modern day vikings pillage and raid the Tag Team Division until they get the titles?

The War Raiders speak in the ring.

“They call themselves The Mighty!” “We’ll show you ‘mighty’.” The Raiders bring Storm up, for Thor’s Hammer! Thorne & Miller have their response from Rowe & Hanson. Who will be standing at the end of this Mighty War?

The Undisputed Era help Kyle O’Reilly warm up.

However, when they spot the cameras, Adam Cole kicks the camera crew out. “You don’t film the Undisputed Era unless I say so!” What secrets to O’Reilly’s preparations does the UE want to keep from the UK Champion and NXT Universe?

NXT takes a look at the DIY break-up and feud.

TakeOver: Chicago II marks the anniversary of the heinous betrayal by Tommaso Ciampa. The grudge festered while Ciampa was out with injury, but immediately sparked into a wildfire the night Ciampa returned and attacked Gargano again. Then came the Unsanctioned Match at TakeOver: New Orleans. Gargano won the night, but it didn’t end anything. If anything, it only made things more personal. Johnny Wrestling wanted to move forward, but the Psycho Killer wouldn’t let things die. Ciampa screwed Gargano out of an NXT Championship before the match even started. Ciampa wouldn’t give Gargano his Happily Ever After. But just as Ciampa wouldn’t leave Gargano alone, Gargano wouldn’t leave Ciampa alone.

But then things took a really dark turn as Candice LeRae, wife of Gargano, ended up in the crossfire. Now things reach a new level of venom and hate. They go back to where it all began, and they aren’t going to wrestle, they’re aiming to beat the Hell out of each other. Gargano left Chicago in an ambulance last time, what will he do to make sure Ciampa leaves that way this time?

Kassius Ohno VS EC3!

Mr. Top One Percent is here to transform the show into #NX3, but he runs into an NXT veteran in the Knockout Artist. EC3 enters his 4th match, will it be another win? Or will Ohno KO EC3’s fledgling streak?

Fans chant “NX3!” as the bell rings, and the two go at each other. Ohno shoves EC3, but EC3 goes after a leg. Ohno throws EC3 off, then gets a facelock. Fans duel while EC3 gets away to the outside. Ohno pursues, and grabs EC3 as he trise to get back in. Ohno chops and chops EC3, then puts EC3 in the ring. EC3 runs at Ohno on reentry but Ohno shoulders and haymakers EC3 first. Ohno chops EC3 again, then whips him corner to corner. EC3 reverses, but Ohno fires out to run EC3 over! Ohno drags EC3 up, scoops and slams, then drops a senton, but EC3 gets knees up. EC3 grabs Ohno for the leg trip. EC3 puts Ohno in the corner for a Top One Percent mudhole. He backs off at 3, but then stomps away some more.

EC3 then drags Ohno up and puts him in another corner. EC3 throws hands while fans duel. He snapmares Ohno, then neck snaps. He drags Ohno up for a nerve hold while fans rally. Ohno endures, then powers up to his feet. Ohno stands but EC3 clubs him on the back. EC3 kicks but Ohno blocks and counters with a knee! EC3 staggers, and Ohno adds an elbow. Ohno hits another, then discus boots EC3 down! Fans fire up as Ohno hits the back senton! Then another! EC3 rolls out of the ring, but Ohno pursues again. Ohno rusn and hits another back senton! Ohno puts EC3 in the ring, then waistlocks, but EC3 hotshots Ohno ont he ropes. Fireman’s carry, EC3 hits the One Percent TKO! Cover, EC3 wins!

Winner: EC3, by pinfall

The Top One Percent toughs it out, and gets himself another Top One Percent win. This also adds another loss to Ohno’s own record. Will EC3 find himself at the very top of #NX3 in the near future? Will Ohno ever turn his luck back around?

Aliyah VS Bianca Belair!

The EST of the Women’s Division is one of, if not the, strongest and¬†fastest¬†women in NXT history, but will Aliyah’s new look help her start anew?

The bell rings and the two circle. Bianca winds up her hair so it doesn’t get in her way while Aliyah shows off. Bianca decks Aliyah with a right, then dares Aliyah to do something. Fans cheer for “EST! EST!” Aliyah avoids Bianca’s grip, but not that shoulder tackle. Bianca circles Aliyah, then puts on a headlock. Aliyah powers out but Bianca goes up and over to handspring and tackle Aliyah into the corner. Bianca grinds her shoulder in, then drags Aliyah up. Bianca wants respect as she shows off that strength. Aliyah slips out and shrieks into a guillotine headlock! Bianca flails, and turns it into a snap suplex! Fans fire up, and Bianca adds a body splash! Bianca kips up, then tells Aliyah to kiss this. Bianca then DEADLIFTS Aliyah up, and carry her around!

The EST then tosses Aliyah for snake eyes, and then lifts her in the torture rack. Torture Rack driver! Cover, Bianca wins!

Winner: Bianca, by pinfall

The EST finishes with Aliyah in the strictest fashion. Will Bianca continue on this streak to become the next winningest woman in NXT?

NXT looks at the Queen of Spade’s Reign of Terror.

“You know what was going through my head when I won that title?” What meant more to her than winning, was walking back into the locker room and seeing everyone fear her. Fear equals respect to Bully Baszler. She is the slap of reality she feels the NXT Women’s Division needed. You can call it bullying, but it’s just reality. If you can’t handle that, get out. Baszler bullied Dakota, and even broke her arm. The fight starts in the mind, so if the mind breaks, the body follows. But someone who already has a broken mind is SAnitY’s Loony Lass! Nikki Cross doesn’t fear anything, she thrives on chaos. Nikki “won” the title, but the reality is, she didn’t. But in Chicago, chaos and fear will collide, and one woman will establish themselves the real owner of the NXT Women’s Championship.

Backstage interview with Dakota Kai.

Captain Kick was so close to winning the NXT Women’s Championship. She’s just happy over how she stood up to Shayna Baszler. She was moments away from winning, but if she gets another chance, it’ll be different. Dakota might not be able to go crazy like Nikki Cross, but still. Hold up, wait a minute, Bianca Belair doesn’t get it.

Why is Dakota being interviewed when Bianca won? Bianca takes over, and introduces herself. She is the strongest, toughest, roughest, quickest and best, unlike Ms. Dakota “Team Kick” “You Ain’t Gonna Do Nothing.” Dakota will only cry and fail, go to the back of the line, it’s Bianca’s time. Shayna may have used mind games, but Dakota is over that. Bianca talks big, so let’s see how her game is next week. Bianca likes the sound of that, but promises Dakota won’t. Who will win this post-TakeOver match-up?

WWE United Kingdom Championship: Pete Dunne VS Kyle O’Reilly!

The Undisputed Era already holds the NXT North American Championship¬†and the NXT Tag Team Championships. O’Reilly is the first Canadian to challenge for the United Kingdom Championship, and the second ever UK Championship Tournament is on the horizon. Will the title still be with the UK after tonight? Or will the Undisputed Era add more gold to the collection?

The bell rings and the two circle fast already. O’Reilly lunges but backs away and the fans are already fever pitched. The two tie up, O’Reilly rolls and takes Dunne down by the legs. Wristlock cover, TWO, again, TWO. O’Reilly tries again, but Dunne bridges. O’Reilly goes to put his whole weight on him, but Dunne catches him into bodyscissors and a Kimura! Dunne can’t quite get it, and O’Reilly switches to an armbar. Dunne slips out and grabs O’Reilly in a hammerlock. O’Reilly slips out and the two are in a stand-off. It’s brief, as Dunne cartwheels around to go after the arm. Fans are fired up as Dunne grabs and bends O’Reilly’s fingers, wrist and elbow in all directions.

Dunne puts on a modified crossface, but O’Reilly refuses to give up, so Dunne just stomps and yanks the arm. O’Reilly staggers but Dunne is on him. Dunne whips but things speed up, Dunne runs O’Reilly over with a lariat! O’Reilly tries to run, but Dunne gets him on the apron. O’Reilly fights him away, then hops down, but Dunne kicks out that arm! Dunne then throws O’Reilly with an X-Plex onto the apron! The UK Champ looms over the writhing and gasping O’Reilly while fans are thunderous. Dunne puts O’Reilly back in the ring, then gets him in surfboard position. Dunne hooks and stretches O’Reilly’s face, from lips to nose to ears. He then returns to torturing the wrist, before stomping both knees! O’Reilly crawls to a corner, but Dunne keeps on that arm. Dunne whips but O’Reilly reverses. Dunne goes up, but O’Reilly trips him up!

The Bruiserweight hits the mat and clutches that bad leg. O’Reilly drags Dunne up but Dunne swings on him. O’Reilly ducks and fires off strikes, targeting the leg. He sweeps the leg and Dunne flips and falls! Fans are still thunderous while O’Reilly gives Dunne a shoulder breaker and side suplex, into a heel hook! Dunne resists, scraping his heel into O’Reilly. Then Dunne grabs O’Reilly’s heel, and it’s a battle of heel hooks! O”Reilly kicks Dunne then drags him around to go after the leg. Dunne slaps O’Reilly, O’Reilly kicks the bad thigh, repeat, so Dunne enziguris O’Reilly down! Fans are loving this as both men slowly stand. O’Reilly staggers into furious fists from Dunne!

Dunne whips but O’Reilly reverses, Dunne goes up and over. Dunne grabs O’Reilly, standing switch, but Dunne lands out of the German Suplex to kick O’Reilly. Then, sit-out bomb! TWO, into triangle hold! O’Reilly brings Dunne in deeper but Dunne resists. WTO, and Dunne kicks out the arm again. Dunne goes after the arm, Hoverboard wristlock! Dunne elbows while O’Reilly body shots. O’Reilly gets a standing arm triangle! Dunne fades but O’Reilly can’t hold on. O’Reilly Penalty Kicks! Cover, TWO, but O’Reilly keeps going with the BRAINBUSTER! Cover, TWO!! That was so close to a new and NON-UK UK Champion. The fans are still thunderous and dueling as O’Reilly stands first. O’Reilly toys with Dunne, but Dunne just grits his teeth.

Dunne feeds off O’Reilly’s kicks, but O’Reilly gives fists and knees, too. Dunne blasts O’Reilly with one big forearm! O’Reilly staggers up, and into the Bitter– No, O’Reilly reverses with a guillotine! But Dunne reverses into the Kimura! And then, another X-Plex, into an armbar! O’Reilly rolls around to an Ankle Lock! O’Reilly twists but Dunne rolls over to go after hands. Dunne gets O’Reilly’s arms twisted, but double headbutts take them both out! Fans love this as both men stir, half-dazed. Both men slowly stand, then stagger back. They throw hands fast and furious! Dunne rocks O’Reilly, but O’Reilly knees. Dunne dodges the ax kick but O’Reilly ducks the enziguri. O’Reilly ax kick, but enziguri stops the smash! Dunne runs, but into the heel kick. O’Reilly runs, but into that killer right! Fans are loving this while both men go down again.

O’Reilly and Dunne crawl towards each other, and O’Reilly goes after the leg while Dunne goes after the arm. O’reilly hammers away with elbows, but Dunne won’t let go. Dunne takes more elbows, but refuses to let go of that finger. O’Reilly grows annoyed, and takes Dunne’s mouth piece away. But Dunne snaps the fingers! Then the Bitter End!! Cover, Dunne wins!!

Winner: Dunne, by pinfall; still WWE UK Champion

The Bruiserweight keeps the title home where it belongs. But the Undisputed Era strikes! Adam Cole and Roderick Strong tackle and stomp Dunne, but here come Lorcan & Burch! The brawlers from Boston and Britain won’t let the champions do what they want. They and Dunne fight the Undisputed Era off, and Dunne gets shots in on the traitorous Strong! Cole drags Dunne out but Dunne rocks him with a right! Dunne keeps going, and the NXT Tag Team Champions and challenges go wild with hands! Strong is thrown out, O’Reilly is next and falls on Strong! The one-two combination is ready, will they become the NEW champions in Chicago?

Aleister Black is here!

The Embodiment of the End is NXT Champion, for now. He faces the toughest competition any champion could face in The Leviathan, Lars Sullivan.¬†Therefore, Aleister speaks, saying that “Lars Sullivan thinks he’s got my number.” Lars caught the Black Mass, and that did shock Aleister. But Aleister promises Lars will still feel the Black Mass’ full force at TakeOver. Nothing is too powerful, and that carnage of Lars’ is not imminence, as he will #FadetoBlack. But speaking of Lars, here he comes! The Mile High Monster glares at Aleister and Aleister prepares for a fight. Lars rushes the ring, and they brawl! Aleister fires off, then bobs and weaves, only for Lars to clobber him down! Lars roars, lifts Aleister, and deja vu as another FREAK ACCIDENT slams Aleister down!

Fans boo and jeer but Lars simply snarls and circles the champion. Lars lifts Aleister again, for a second Freak Accident! The Leviathan grins as he looms over a limp Aleister. But he drags him up again, and hits a THIRD Freak Accident! Lars paces around his fallen prey, because he’s still not done. He drags Aleister out of the ring, and hauls both Aleister and the title up to the announce desk. Lars tells Aleister, “YOU will fade to black!” Aleister is prone while Lars stands tall, title raised high. Lars says “This is your reality in Chicago!” Will the Leviathan’s prophecy of pain and power come true this Saturday? Or can the Dutch Destroyer recover in time to strike back?

My Thoughts:

This was a pretty good go-home for TakeOver, though some things seemed lacking.¬†Opening with War Raiders wrecking jobbers is always fun, and it helps them parallel “The Mighty”. Bianca continues her roll and calls out Dakota, and both that match and the War Raiders VS TM61 match are part of next week’s post-TakeOver episode. So at least on matches, next week won’t be completely boring or filler, as those matches could be seen as unofficial contenders matches. And I feel like as fast and furious as EC3 VS Ohno was, it could’ve had more given what both men can do. Maybe if this match was another week it would’ve, but for now, it was close to being a squash.

The DIY promo package was great, just like the Ricochet VS Dream video last time. Just on Ricochet VS Dream and the Gargano-Ciampa Street Fight, this card is already looking amazing. The UK Championship match was another¬†amazing one, and it was so fast-paced and technical. Dunne and O’Reilly are definitely both worthy of titles, and while Lorcan & Burch stand tall, I’m confident Undisputed Era retains so that they can let Bobby Fish return to the ring as a champion when he and O’Reilly defend against Rowe & Hanson. Then Strong can shift over to settle things with Dunne. The one thing of tonight I was confused by was Aleister and Lars just repeating the segment from a couple weeks ago, but then escalating. I feel like they should’ve combined the segments so that Lars blocks the Black Mass, then does the trifecta of slams.

My Score: 8.6/10

Catrina appears in King Cuerno’s trophy.

And she appears magically, as per her powers of darkness. Fortunately the King of Hunters is out, but unfortunately, so is the Gauntlet of the Gods. Cuerno enters, and tells Catrina, “Even I know that some trophies are too dangerous to display.” Then where is it? Cuerno knows the Gauntlet is “the hand that could strike down the descendants of the Seven Aztec Tribes.” And he can’t let that happen. But without it, she will never be human again, and she won’t let¬†that happen. Well sorry, but he gave it to someone else for “safe keeping.” So who knows where, or when, he hid it. And Cuerno doesn’t give a sh*t whether Catrina is ever human again. Catrina disappears in a huff, back on the hunt for her humanity.

Lucha Underground Trios Championships: Son of Havoc, Killshot & The Mack VS Texano, Dr. Wagner Jr. & Famous B w/ the Beautiful Brenda!

Dysfunction has returned to these titles as one of the inaugural champions is forced to team with two of the current champions. For whatever reason, Dante Fox is MIA, so Antonio Cueto let fate decide who replaced him, and that brings us to this new mishmash team. However, they already have to face challengers in #InfamousIncorporated.

Speaking of, the chairman of 423-Get-Fame explains to Melissa Santos that she doesn’t have all the facts. Famous B and Brenda hit the ring, and B vows to capture the gold! But Dr. Wagner & Texano are too busy making money in Mexico, so instead, it’s a fresh coat of paint w/¬†three new clients! First, the nasty mechanic, Big Bad Steve! Second, one of the hottest young stars on the globe, Sammy Guevara! And last but certainly not least, the hottest free agent in the business, the “savage” Jake Strong! The Believers lose their minds over these signings, especially that third star full of¬†swagger.

Lucha Underground Trios Championships: Son of Havoc, Killshot & The Mack VS Infamous Incorporated w/ Famous B & The Beautiful Brenda!

With this revised match-up, do the champions stand a chance of retaining? The bell rings, and Killshot starts against Guevara. Killshot gets the takedown, but Guevara dodges the double stomps. Killshot cartwheels, things speed up, and while Killshot handsprings back, Guevara flips over! Guevara embraces the spotlight a little too long, but he still tilt-o-whirl headscissors Killshot. Killshot handsprings through, then headscissors Guevara back. Guevara also gets up quick, with a big smile on his face. Fans are loving it, too, as Guevara offers a handshake. Fans chant for “Killshot! Killshot!” so Guevara flips him the bird. Killshot gives Guevara the spinning back elbow! Killshot puts Guevara in the corner, then tags to Son of Havoc.

Havoc drags Guevara up while fans chant for him. Havoc chops Guevara sharply, then gives forearms. He whips but Guevara reverses, and things speed up. Guevara dropkicks Havoc down, then embraces the spotlight again. He drags Havoc over, and Big Bad Steve tags in. BBS throws hands on SoH, then big forearms. Havoc back kicks, then runs, but BBS blocks and counters to clothesline Havoc down. Killshot comes in to mule kick BBS, then whips. BBS reverses but Killshot goes up and over. Killshot 619s in the corner, then steps in for the complete shot! Jake Strong comes in and throws Killshot to ropes to then boot him. Killshot is dazed, but he still dumps Jake out of the ring. Killshot gets to the apron, aims at Jake, and gives him a sharp boot!

Guevara returns, to SUPERKICK Killshot down! Then Guevara wrecks with a dropkick, only for Havoc to DIVE on him! Brenda and Famous B are not happy with how their team is working together. Jake gets up with Guevara and they drag Havoc up together. They both go into the ring, and BBS grabs Havoc for a suplex. BBS holds him up there, then drops him. Jake backs up, then runs corner to corner for the All American American Vader Bomb! Guevara is up, and adds the swanton bomb! Cover, but Killshot¬†and The Mack break that. Guevara backs off, and Havoc crawls over. Killshot tags in, and fans already know “This is Awesome!”

Killshot runs in but Guevara puts him on the top rope. Guevara swing kicks then climbs up, to SUPER- No, Killshot denies! Killshot brings Guevara back up, fireman’s carry, and with The Mack running an intercept course, SUPER POUNCE!

But Jake comes in, and kicks Mack down. Jake throws Mack out hard, then grabs Killshot. Jake puts Killshot in a corner, but Killshot puts up the knee. This gets Jake to stop in his tracks, and Killshot kicks out the legs. Killshot buzzaw kicks Jake right in the head, then climbs up top. Famous B distracts on the apron, and this gives Jake time to get under Killshot’s jump. Killshot turns back around, and runs into a pop up into ankle lock!

Killshot endures while fans are thunderous! He taps, but the referee is still busy with someone else! Mack comes in, and SMACKS Jake with a haymaker. But Jake holds onto the hold! That’s how¬†strong Jake is. Mack hits him again, then runs to bicycle boot him! Finally Jake lets go, but he tags to BBS. Mack dodges BBS, STUNNER! Havoc tags in from Killshot, climbs up top, and hits a SHOOTING STAR! Cover, Havoc and team win!

Winners: Killshot, The Mack & Son of Havoc, Havoc pinning; still Lucha Underground Trios Champions

Famous B messed up his own team, and now they pay the price! The mishmash team retains, and have grown closer thanks to winning together. Meanwhile, Jake Strong is¬†pissed at Famous B, but he takes it out on Guevara and Big Bad Steve! He body slams Guevara and boots BBS, but he’s not done there. He build speed to FLIP Guevara with a lethal lariat. Famous B pleads with Jake, but no go, as Jake trophy lifts Guevara to toss onto Big Bad Steve! And that just leaves Famous B himself, for a big biel! Then, the ankle lock! Famous B has had broken arms before, but never a broken ankle! Jake wipes the sweat from his brow and fans join in on “Strong! Strong!” Will Jake Strong take the Temple by storm?

Melissa Santos introduces Antonio Cueto.

The ice cold father of the late Dario Cueto comes out, and says that many called Dario “a genius”. But guess what? The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. In fact, another concept of Dario’s was a spark of brilliance. Antonio is of course speaking of the Gift of the Gods Championship. “When the seven ancient Aztec medallions are together, they form the Gift of the Gods”, and Antonio proudly announces that the process starts again, tonight! This next match is for the first of seven, so let’s not keep the bloodthirsty Believers waiting! “Let’s put some red blood in this blue ice house!”

Gift of the Gods Medallion Match: Drago w/ Kobra Moon VS Dragon Azteca Jr!

Now that there’s a prize on the line, this battle of dragons truly heats up. The Queen of the Reptile Tribe leads her dark knight to the ring, will he bring glory to their clan at the expense of the young luchador’s body?

Lucha Underground returns, and this match begins. Fans already rally as the two circle. Drago wants a handshake? Azteca accepts, but of course it was a trap. Drago whips but Azteca reverses, and things speed up. Drago front flips but Azteca arm wrenches, to then wheelbarrow and sunset flip! ONE, and Drago sweeps the legs to cover. ONE, and Azteca returns the favor, ONE, double dropkicks twice in a row, we have a stand off and fans are loving it. Azteca baits Drago into a test of strength to back kick him. Azteca puts on a headlock, but Drago powers out. Drago and Azteca bump shoulders, Drago rebounds to shoulder again but Azteca does the same and gets the knock down!

Azteca runs but Kobra swipes at him! He’s ready to bop her one, but he’s too nice a guy. Azteca does sense Drago lurking, though, and gets out of the way. Drago stops himself from running into his queen, but Azteca waistlocks. Dragon standing switches, but Azteca throws elbows. Azteca slips out of the suplex to shove and then follow, Azteca rolls to a cover, TWO! Things speed up again as Drago springboards into a cover. ONE and Azteca narrowly avoids a Penalty Kick, but not that sharp mule kick! Drago keeps on Azteca, then whips, but Azteca reverses. Things speed up as Azteca dodges Drago each time, then he slides out, but Drago FLIES! One dragon wipes out the other and fans are fired up!

Drago puts Azteca back in, then stalks him to a corner. Drago hits Azteca with a body shot, then hoists him up backwards on the top rope. He goes after the mask! How disrespectful! Fans boo and jeer, but Dragon won’t stop! He almost unmasks Azteca completely as he puts him in the Tree of Woe! Drago mule kicks the defenseless Azteca! Azteca gets his mask on, but fans cuss Drago out. Drago runs in, but misses in the corner. Azteca fires off forearms, then whips but Drago reverses. Azteca stops himself, to then kick from the ground! Drago runs back in, but is thrown overhead into buckles! Cover, TWO! Azteca is a bit shocked, but he keeps on Drago.

Azteca whips but Drago holds ropes. Drago runs and slides off Azteca’s back, then brings Azteca around for a hammerlock and lift, into a facebuster slam! Dragon finishes by rolling Azteca up into a cradle, TWO!? Kobra Moon is frustrated, but Drago makes it up to her with that overhand chop on Azteca. Dragon whips Azteca corner to corner, then runs in, but Azteca slips out to the apron. Drago hits buckles and falls back, Azteca climbs up, but has to drop down. Azteca swing kicks Drago, then climbs up. He jumps over, and runs into a boot from Drago! Drago runs, blockbuster DDT! Cover, TWO!

Fans rally as Azteca gets to a corner. Drago runs in again, but Azteca dodges. Azteca runs into a SUPERKICK! Drago climbs up, Azteca swing kicks Drago again! Azteca climbs up, SUPER victory roll pin! Azteca wins!!

Winner: Dragon Azteca Jr, by pinfall; earns the first Aztec Medallion

Azteca celebrates winning in honor of his Aztec heritage of the Eagle Tribe. Who will join him in collecting the Medallions and forming the Gift of the Gods Championship?

Meanwhile, Kobra Moon is disappointed in her knight. To make matters worse, out comes Johnny Mundo. He asks the Queen of Reptiles what’ll happen when “one of your snakes gets taken to Slam Town?” But Mundo’s trash talk is just a distraction for Taya to sneak up behind and strike! The Valkyrie SPEARS and throws hands on Kobra while Mundo comes in to kick Drago in the huevos! Then a shining wizard on Drago for good measure. The Reptiles started this war with Worldwide Underground, will Mundo and company finish it?

Antonio Cueto is in his office.

He finishes some paperwork, then picks up the key. But Catrina pops in using her magic. He heard stories about her, but he just thought it was “a load of crap.” Is she a phantom? No, she’s stuck between the worlds of the living and the dead. She hopes not for long, if he gives her what she desires. He’s sure most men do. So what does she desire? Fenix in a coffin. But Mil Muertes can handle him. Catrina wants the match made, Mil Muertes VS Fenix in Grave Consequences, next week. Sounds violent. Yes, it will be. And once Fenix is buried once and for all, that immortal life force will be Catrina’s. “And I will finally be free.”

So she’ll have to knock next time? Yes. Then consider it done. Catrina disappears just as she came. The Man of 1000 Deaths and the Man of 1000 Lives will wage war once again! Will Catrina get her shortcut to restoration? Or will she be disappointed all over again?

Lucha Underground Championship: Pentagon Dark VS Matanza Cueto!

A rematch from all the way back in Ultima Lucha Dos, in which The Monster defeated the Breaker of Bones. Things have changed for Pentagon since then, but Matanza is as merciless and mindless as ever. Will Pentagon avenge himself of that loss? Or will he fall to the Wrath of the Gods?

Lucha Underground returns once more, and fans are already thunderous. Pentagon doesn’t waste time, either, as he goes right at Matanza at the stairs! The bell rings just as Pentagon SUPERKICKS Matanza! Matanza stays standing, though, and even busts through Pentagon’s forearm smash. Pentagon hits Matanza again and again, then pushes Matanza into a post. Fans chant “Cero Miedo!” as Pentagon kicks Matanza again. He goes after the big legs of the Monster, then brings him around by his mask to bowl him into chairs! Fans are loving this as Pentagon stalks Matanza. Pentagon whips Matanza into the railings and wall. He kicks Matanza’s leg again, then stands Matanza up against a post. Pentagon asks for silence as he takes off his glove, and opens Matanza’s jumpsuit for the CHOP!

Matanza staggers away but fans love it. “Otra! Otra!” echoes out, but as Pentagon swings, Matanza dodges! Pentagon’s hand smacks post! Matanza boots Pentagon, then drags Pentagon up to press and bounce him off the railings. Matanza forearms Pentagon¬†hard, then follows him as he rolls. He then drags Pentagon up to return the favor of bowling for chairs!

Matanza drags Pentagon up, for a back suplex on the apron. Pentagon writhes but Matanza hits him with another forearm. Matanza puts Pentagon in the ring, then looms over him. He drags Pentagon up, for a torture rack and slam! Cover, TWO, but Matanza still looms over his prey. Matanza pumphandles and Fall Away Slams Pentagon. Cover, TWO! Fans rally for Pentagon but Matanza is still on him. Matanza drags Pentagon up but Pentagon revives. Pentagon speeds things up, then Slingblades! Then another! Cover, TWO! Pentagon is surprised, but he keeps on that leg with another sharp kick! “CERO, MIEDO!” Pentagon can’t get the package driver, though, as Matanza powers out and hits back. Matanza whips, but Pentagon goes up and over for the backstabber! Then the code breaker! Cover, TWO!

Fans chant “Lucha! Lucha!” for their champion as he stands up and stalks Matanza now. Matanza sits up, but Pentagon buzzsaw kicks him. “CERO! MIEDO!” Pentagon runs, but into a swinging side slam! Cover, TWO, and the fans are still thunderous. Matanza is up first, then whips Pentagon corner to corner. Matanza runs in, for a big clothesline. He runs in again, but into a SUPERKICK! Pentagon hops up, leaps, but Matanza denies the Destroyer with power. Pentagon still sunset flips but Matanza rolls through. They both get up, enziguri from Pentagon! Pentagon positions Matanza, then climbs up. But Matanza stops him with a right! Matanza climbs up, fireman’s carry, but Pentagon fights back. Pentagon headbutts Matanza down, then SUPERKICKS him again. He hops back up, DESTROYER PILEDRIVER!

But that’s not all, because Matanza staggers up to his feet. Pentagon runs, ANOTHER Destroyer!

Then, “CERO! MIEDO!” Somehow, Pentagon lifts Matanza for a PACKAGE Piledriver! Cover, Pentagon wins!!

Winner: Pentagon Dark, by pinfall; still Lucha Underground Champion

Two weeks in a row, Pentagon has done the unthinkable! He conquers the Monster to give the Monster his first singles loss EVER! Fans are thunderous for their champion as they chant “Cero! Miedo!” But they also what Pentagon to “Break His Arm!” Pentagon grabs Matanza, Dark Armbar… But Antonio simply shows Matanza the key, and the Monster powers out! Matanza gets away from Pentagon, then¬†cowers before his father!? Antonio smacks Matanza, saying Dario spoiled his little brother. They’re both useless. Matanza sheepishly follows after his father, and Pentagon stands tall. Will his unbelievable title reign continue to make history?

Antonio Cueto returns to his office.

He puts the key down, then paces the room. Jeremiah Crane arrives, and none too soon for Antonio’s liking. This won’t take long. Crane wants to bury¬†both Fenix and Mil Muertes, and then he’ll be the one to give Catrina what she wants, so that she’ll finally realize he is the only man she needs. So Crane is willing to put his own life on the line for a woman? Have you¬†seen¬†Catrina? Good point. In that case, it will be the first ever Grave Consequences TRIPLE THREAT, aka Three Way to the Grave. See? That didn’t take long. Antonio doesn’t see Crane’s career lasting much longer, either. The Death Machine, the Man of Death, and the Bird of War, only one will be left alive! Will it be Catrina or Crane who gets what they want?

My Thoughts:

What a great second episode, as Lucha Underground keeps the momentum rolling and even heightens it. Nice story element of King Cuerno using his Lucha Underground/Impact Wrestling pal in Aerostar to hide that Gauntlet for him. Aerostar being a time-traveler in kayfabe, it is the perfect way to keep that Gauntlet out of the reach of those hungry for power. Of course, Catrina has a Plan B: just kill Fenix. For one, Fenix has been a long-standing rival of Mil Muertes, so this would be one way to end their eternal feud. Second, it gets Catrina what she wants, and that’s to be truly alive again. Crane makes a great move as well, since he has his own story with Muertes & Catrina. That match for just episode three is going to be great.

Havoc joining The Mack and Killshot was a nice twist from last week, and we get some more twists as we meet the newest LU talent. “Jake Strong” (aka Jack Swagger) makes a big impact, even though he lost. I suppose by “Mexico”, Famous B means Texano and Wagner are active in AAA Lucha and therefore too busy to be on Lucha Underground. Strong/Swagger is gonna do great to be sure. And great for Azteca to win a medallion, that’s the first step to being Gift of the Gods Champion. Azteca has already been Trios Champion with Rey Mysterio and Prince Puma, so this could be his way to being a Triple Crown. Then that main event was amazing, as always, and great for Pentagon to retain. I could easily see him retain all the way until Ultima Lucha 4, where¬†he gets screwed out this time.

My Score: 8.6/10

  • The War Raiders VS The Mighty; War Raiders win.

WWE and NXT honors the memory of Leon White, aka Vader.

Big, strong and even revolutionary, he will be missed and always remembered fondly.

NXT recaps TakeOver Chicago II!

A true highlight reel of all the fast and furious action that went down on Saturday, June 16, 2018. From Undisputed tag team champions to a loony lass that let herself go limp, to a #OneandOnlyDream Match all about the spotlight, to a Dutch Destroyer making a Leviathan #FadeToBlack, to two men who were once friends trying to destroy each other. TakeOver brought just about everything but the kitchen sink. The only question now: what’s next?

Dakota Kai VS Bianca Belair!

The Captain of Team Kick overcame her fears in regards to the Queen of Spades, but can she overcome a woman who is the strongest, toughest, baddest and so much more? Or will The EST add Dakota to her fastest growing win list?

The bell rings, and Bianca pie-faces Dakota around. Bianca whips Dakota, but Dakota gets around and keeps moving to dropkick Bianca down. Dakota goes to whip but Bianca reverses. Dakota goes up and over, then rolls Bianca, ONE. Bianca waistlocks Dakota but Dakota resists. Dakota trips Bianca then runs to Penalty Kick her down. Cover, TWO, but Dakota keeps focus. Dakota goes over but Bianca pushes her back to then flapjack her onto the buckles. Bianca rams her shoulder into Dakota, then backs off to smirk. Bianca brings Dakota up, suplexes, and fans chant “EST!” as she rebound suplexes Dakota to the mat. Dakota crawls but Bianca is on her with a splash! Bianca kips up, then tells Dakota to “kiss this”.

Dakota gets to a corner while fans cheer Bianca on. Bianca twirls her hair as Dakota stands up. Bianca clubs Dakota, covers, TWO. She grows annoyed with Dakota, but brings her up for a modified abdominal stretch. Bianca adds a clawing hand, then grabs hair to thrash Dakota around. The referee counts Bianca, and she lets up. She still elbows Dakota, then pulls on hair again. Bianca bends and stretches Dakota but fans rally and Dakota endures. Bianca pumphandles and backbreakers Dakota! Dakota writhes while Bianca dares her to get up. Dakota hits back, but it doesn’t hurt Bianca. Bianca clubs Dakota down, then drags her up.

Bianca suplexes Dakota again, rebounds again, then again to show off her strength! She gets a hat trick but Dakota rolls her, TWO. Dakota trips then rolls around, TWO. Bianca runs and kicks Dakota down, then throws her by her hair. Bianca runs, but her splash hits knees! She flops to a corner, then Dakota crawls over. Fans rally for both women as they stagger up. Bianca misses in the corner, enziguri from Dakota! Both women are down, but stir. Dakota is up and kicks Bianca down. Scorpion kick then bicycle kick! Bianca gets to a corner, Dakota goes Around the World! Then, boot wash! Cover, TWO!

Dakota can’t believe it, but she knows she’s close, too. She climbs up top, but Bianca is up. Dakota jumps over, avoids the hair whip, but Bianca avoids the roundhouse to forearm Dakota back! Bianca grabs Dakota, torture rack driver! Cover, Bianca wins!

Winner: Bianca Belair, by pinfall

The EST impresses Chicago with her performance tonight. Racking up the wins like this, will Bianca become the¬† strongest, toughest, and baddest¬†#1 contender to the NXT Women’s Championship?

Exclusive backstage interview with Ricochet.

The King of Flight went toe to toe and move for move with the Patrick Clark Experience, and won. What’s next? “Well like I said before,” Ricochet has shown us just the tip of the iceberg. He showed he’s not just some gif online or a bunch of flips. Ricochet showed us all that the spotlight is now on him, the One and Only.

And Velveteen Dream’s own interview.

After losing to Ricochet, where does he go next? It was #DreamOver in New Orleans, so what do you think? That’s all he has to say, but what will he do?

Exclusive interview with Shayna Baszler.

The Queen of Spades is joined by her fellow Four Horsewomen of MMA,¬†Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir, as she speaks on her successful defense against Crazy Nikki Cross.¬†Was there any doubt that she’d lsoe to Nikki’s madness? “You know how you defeat chaos? You suck the air out of it and put it to sleep.” #AndStill. If not even Nikki Cross can defeat Bully Baszler, then who can?

NXT reviews THE NXT Championship match.

The Leviathan shocked the world when he blocked the Black Mass with one hand on NXT TV. Then he shocked us again when he slammed Aleister Black¬†three times, just because he could. Then in the match itself, Lars Sullivan still threw the Embodiment of the End off with his superhuman sturdiness. But Aleister proved he had both toughness and intellect to match, as he focused on the giant’s jaw. It took no less than two Black Mass kicks, but finally, Lars went down and Aleister retained.

Exclusive interview with Aleister Black.

The Dutch Destroyer, sore in body as he was, had no time or energy to talk. He would hobble on into the night, victorious.

Exclusive interview with Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch.

The one-two combination did¬†not win the NXT Tag Team Championships off Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong, partially thanks to Adam Cole. Chicago still showed their respect and appreciation for their efforts, but how do they themselves feel? “This is a combined 25 years of experience in the making”, of blood, sweat and tears just to get to WWE and NXT. Their first TakeOver, they came up short and they’re heartbroken, but they left it all in the ring, and you can’t ask for anything more. It was the biggest match of their careers, but the biggest loss, too. They’re disappointed, but they’re still standing. Will the Boston & British Brawlers fight their way back up towards something big?

NXT looks back to the brutality of the Chicago Street Fight.

Chicago was the location where DIY broke apart, all because of Tommaso Ciampa’s paranoia. Ciampa accused Johnny Gargano of being selfish, but Gargano wasn’t the one making life a living Hell for his former friend. In the end, even Candice LeRae wanted Gargano to “kick his ass”, and Gargano went out to do just that! So much symbolism was in every sinister and sadistic move from both men, and Gargano would bring out a darker side of himself than perhaps even he knew he had. But in the end, he would lose focus, and that would cause him to lose the match. Ciampa exposed hard wood and drove Gargano headfirst into it. The Psycho Killer would stand tall, and wave “bye-bye”. Now that Ciampa got his “moment”, is it finally over between him and Johnny Wrestling?

NXT Media catches up with EC3.

What did The Top One Percent think of TakeOver: Chicago II? “Is there anything like it?” That show proved why NXT is THE top brand in sports entertainment. It had thrills, chills, action and excitement, but it didn’t have EC3. He isn’t promising, he is proclaiming: The Top One Percent will be at 100% of TakeOvers going forward. EC3 has been building this brand into #NX3 with #VictoryAfterVictoryAfterVictory. He claims to be the best here, the best there, the best anywhere, but he’s going to prove it. EC3 is going to kick the doors wide open to demand the top tier of competition available. In other words, EC3 is calling his shot. And when he calls his shot, he doesn’t miss. Who is he aiming for? “Everybody!!”

The War Raiders VS The Mighty!

War comes to Chicago as Ray Rowe and “Warbeard” Hanson look to show Shane Thorne & Nick Miller what it’s really like to be mighty. Forget kneeling, will Thorne & Miller still be¬†standing after this match?

But as The Mighty have done, they use some sneakier tactics, as they throw their fancy new dusters at Rowe & Hanson!¬†The Mighty put Hanson on the outside, then stomp away on Rowe. The referee backs Thorne & Miller off to check on Rowe. Rowe simply demands this match begin! The bell rings, and Rowe hits Thorne with shotgun knees! Miller comes in, but gets thrown overhead! Miller slumps out, Rowe tags in Hanson. Fans chant “War! War!” as Hanson is whipped into squash Thorne, then Rowe picks Hanson up for the human weapon hip attack! Fans fire up as Hanson tags back to Rowe. Rowe stalks Thorne, and brings him up for the lift. Hanson climbs but Miller pushes him down!

Rowe goes after Miller, but then Thorne clobbers Rowe. Thorne rolls Rowe and even puts feet on the ropes! TWO, because Miller wasn’t there to help anchor him. Thorne hurries up to knee Rowe down, then tags Miller. Miller drags Rowe up and drops ax handles and crossface punches. Fans boo, but Miller keeps going. Rowe shoves Miller away but Miller knocks Rowe out of the ring. Miller distracts and Thorne gets a cheap shot in! Thorne puts Rowe in, then tags in. The Mighty pick Rowe up, back drop neckbreaker! Cover, TWO! The Mighty are shocked and furious but fans rally up for the War Raiders.

Thorne goes after Rowe in a corner with European Uppercuts. Rowe shoves him away, then they brawl. Rowe fights out of the Mighty’s corner, but Thorne dropkicks him back down. Thorne goes to hit Hanson, but Hanson intimidates him with a roar. Thorne goes back to Rowe, but his senton misses! Hot tag to Hanson! Hanson throws Thorne with a back drop, then side slams Miller, before squashing him with a splash! Hanson picks up and swings Thorne for a slam. Miller dodges but ends up in a seated senton! Hanson cartwheels past Thorne to clothesline him down!

Fans are all fired up, and so is Hanson. Hanson tags Rowe, “War! War!” echoes out, as Hanson feeds Thorne to Rowe to pop Thorne up for Thor’s Hammer! Cover, but Miller breaks it! Rowe throws Miller out, and Hanson DIVES! Hanson wipes Miller out, but that’s not all. War Raiders regroup, Rowe gives Thorne the Ace Ten Mao! Tag to Hanson, and Hanson climbs. Rowe drags Thorne up, FALLOUT! Cover, War Raiders win!

Winners: The War Raiders, Hanson pinning

The warpath continues, and no one is safe. Will the NXT Tag Team Champions have to worry about a truly threatening team coming for their gold?

My Thoughts:

For those who don’t know, post-TakeOver episodes of NXT are never that big of a deal, as they’re actually filmed before TakeOver. It’s just through the magic of editing that it all feels like a post-show. All the interviews featured were great, and fitting of each character’s story after the event. The matches were actually alright tonight. Bianca VS Dakota was great for an opener, and honestly could’ve been the main given how great Chicago reacted to Bianca. War Raiders VS The Mighty was so quick, but also as exciting and well-received. As I’ve been saying, we must be getting War Raiders VS Undisputed Era in this next arc, and hopefully Bobby Fish will be healed by then for a proper match-up of ROH teams in NXT.

My Score: 8/10

Will one of these men move on to face the Cruiserweight Champion?

The Cruiserweight Champion, Cedric Alexander, is still without a #1 contender. Drake Maverick heard the requests of Buddy Murphy and Mustafa Ali both wanting revenge on Hideo Itami, and has made a major Triple Threat match! While an official contender won’t be named, surely the winner will be first place in the race.

OFFICIAL RESULTS

  • Drew Gulak w/ THE Brian Kendrick VS Lince Dorado w/ The Lucha House Party; Gulak wins.
  • TJP VS ???; no contest.
  • Triple Threat: Mustafa Ali VS Buddy Murphy VS Hideo Itami; Itami wins.

PLAY BY PLAY

The Cruiserweight Division is growing heated.

Two weeks ago, the Beacon of Light and the Aussie Juggernaut had yet another incredible rematch that could have determined a new #1 Contender. However, the Innovator of the GTS would ambush Mustafa Ali and even blindside Buddy Murphy. Itami wants respect, but he also wants that Cruiserweight Championship. Will he get what he wants after tonight’s main event?

Drew Gulak w/ THE Brian Kendrick VS Lince Dorado w/ The Lucha House Party!

The rivalry of Cruiserweight Tag Teams rolls on, but with the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament in progress, the Ungentle Men are down a man. Can the Philly Stretcher still make it work against the Golden Lynx with only The Man with a Plan in his corner? Or will LHS keep the fiesta rolling on through the Summer?

Oh and yes, be sure to say hola to Penelope Gulak the pinata, she’s back again to give moral support. The bell rings, and we begin.

Dorado and Gulak circle while fans chant “Lucha! Lucha!” They tie up and Gulak gets the headlock takeover. They stand up again, and Dorado pries his way out into a wristlock. Gulak counters to a hammerlock, but Dorado elbows back and snapmares Gulak down. Gulak runs Dorado over, cover, ONE, but Gulak goes after the wrist again. Dorado stands up while fans rally, but Gulak throws him overhead with a wristlock suplex. Bridging cover, TWO, but Gulak covers again. TWO as Dorado gets a shoulder up. Gulak tries again, TWO as Dorado bridges. Gulak goes to put his full weight on Dorado, but Dorado counters and ends up on Gulak’s shoulders! Dorado sunset flips, TWO, but now a roll up, TWO.

Gulak headbutts Dorado in the chest, but Dorado kicks back. Gulak punches Dorado into a corner, then throws in body shots. Kendrick mocks the Lucha dance, but Dorado boots Gulak to then fly with a modified huricanrana to throw him. Dorado springboards, quebrada! Cover, TWO, but Dorado arm-drags Gulak into an armlock. The Lucha House Party rallies, but Gulak hits Dorado. Dorado hits back, then climbs the ropes, but Gulak disrupts his acrobatics! Dorado crotches on the top, and then Gulak shoves him down and out! Kendrick mocks Dorado but fans rally for him. Gulak fetches “Dorito” and puts him in the ring. Gulak then drags Dorado up by his mask, very disrespectful. He drags Dorado into a ring and stomps away.

Gulak brings Dorado up again for a stiff knee to the chest. Dorado hits back with right hands, then forearms. Dorado fires off furiously and the ref backs him off, but Gulak schoolboys him out of the ring! The Golden Lynx hits the ground hard, but Gulak doesn’t give him time to rest. Gulak glares at Penelope, not laughing at LHS’s jokes. He puts Dorado in the ring, then grabs a leg. Gulak brings Dorado around and hooks his legs for the surfboard, but then pulls at the mask and jaw! He lets go at 4, then comes back for a chinlock. Dorado endures while Kalisto & Gran Metalik rally the fans. Dorado feeds off the energy, gets up and fights back. Gulak clubs him, then whips him to a corner.

Dorado stops but they collide with heads! Both men are down, and a 10 count begins. Dorado gets to a corner and Gulak stirs. Both men are up at 4, then start brawling. Dorado gets an edge, but Gulak shoves, only for Dorado to dropkick him down! Dorado dropkicks again, then gets to a corner. He comes back over to pull on Gulak’s hair. This is for pulling the mask! Dorado forearms Gulak, then grabs a leg to windmill kick over it! Gulak scurries to a corner but Dorado runs in. Gulak puts him on the apron, but Dorado hits back with a Listo kick. Dorado climbs, flies, crossbody! Cover, TWO!

Dorado keeps going, but Gulak takedown to cover, TWO. Gulak whips Dorado, handspring, Golden Rewind! But Kendrick helps Gulak get a ropebreak! Kalisto & Metalik protest, but the referee keeps Dorado back. Gulak holds ropes, Kalisto & Metalik protest more, but this only distracts the ref, and Kendrick hotshots Dorado! Gulak grabs Dorado for the GuLOCK! Dorado taps, Gulak wins!

Winner: Drew Gulak, by submission

Kalisto & Metalik run off Gulak from holding on longer than he should, but the win is still his. Gulak & Kendrick celebrate their win, will they and Gallagher conquer the budding Cruiserweight tag scene?

Perhaps will find out who is truly the best team in 205 Live, as these two trios face off in an ELIMINATION Six Man Tag match next week!

Drake Maverick speaks with a referee.

The 205 Live GM wants to make sure things go as planned tonight between there of the best Cruiserweight superstars in the Division today. The referee understands the importance of this match and takes his leave. That’s when Hideo Itami enters.¬†Maverick wants to talk about Itami’s “outburst” a couple weeks ago. If Itami has something to say, come to Maverick in his office instead of ruining a main event. Itami promises there won’t be any more problems in the future. So long as Maverick shows Itami respect. Respect? Respect works both ways, Itami. Itami has to worry about Murphy and Ali, the biggest and the fastest. But hey, Itami is in the main event. That is where Itami belongs, but he needs to make sure to make the best of it. Itami says, “I will.”

TJP VS ???

The FilAm Flash is feeling underappreciated in the Cruiserweight Division,¬†and comes out already holding a microphone. TJP tells Toledo that “another 205 Live, and another week that the talent of the Cruiser-Great is wasted.” TJP’s been saying Maverick, “the most incompetent GM in WWE”, needs to do what’s best for 205 Live, and reward the man who carried the show on his back. It wouldn’t take much at all. Just give TJP more higher-profile matches, or the main event, every single week.

But no, TJP gets “this.” TJP doesn’t even want to add this guy to his record, because this guy only wants to add TJP to his. Maverick wants to set TJP up to fail, and if you don’t believe him, just ask “this guy.” TJP wonders if “this guy” feels he deserves to be in the ring with one of the best. Or, is he just some “whatever guy from Tostito, Ohio” that was lame enough to be pulled out of the scrap pile? “This guy” takes offense as TJP talks down to him, and knocks him down with a hard right!

TJP is shocked, so he kicks the guy in the leg! TJP puts “this guy” in a Kneebar! He won’t let go, no matter how much the referee shouts at him. TJP makes “this guy” tap out, but it doesn’t matter. More referees rush in and get TJP to let go. TJP kips up and looms over “this guy”, to then soak in the heat. He shouts, “I carried this place on my back, and I deserve better!” Does TJP really deserve better? Or will he just get what he deserves?

Lio Rush is officially signed with 205 Live!

Drake Maverick confirms on his own social media that as of last Friday, The Man of the Hour became the newest Cruiserweight Division competitor. Lio Rush is ready to show us all what a “23 year old piece of gold” can do in a WWE ring. Who will be the first to #FeelTheRush?

Triple Threat: Mustafa Ali VS Buddy Murphy VS Hideo Itami!

The Heart of 205 Live, the Aussie Juggernaut, and the Don from Nihon. All three men want respect, all three men want to win, and all three men want to challenge Cedric Alexander. But only one can have it all, who will that man be tonight?

The bell rings, and the three stare down across the way. They all circle, approach, but it seems Ali and Murphy come to an understanding. Itami was the one who ruined their match a couple weeks ago, so they should take care of him first. Itami rolls his eyes, then bails out of the ring. Ali goes to pursue, but Murphy pushes him aside to chase Itami first. Itami turns around into a heavy haymaker from Murphy! Murphy clubs and Itami hits back, but Ali FLIES in outta nowhere!

Ali brings Itami up and in, then takes him down to rain down rights. Itami gets Ali off him, but Ali comes back for more. Murphy returns and pulls Ali away to then stomp away on Itami. Ali comes back but gets a right hand for himself. Itami chops Murphy, but it does nothing. Murphy bumps Itami off buckles then stomps another mudhole into him. Ali returns, but ducks the right this time to chop Murphy. Ali’s hand hurts more than anything, but he keeps chopping! He chops, then whips, but Murphy reverses. Ali dodges, then headscissors! Murphy and Ali are up quick but Ali runs at Murphy, only to get a boot. Murphy runs, but Ali tosses him outside! Ali builds speed, but Itami intercepts with a kitchen sink knee! Cover, TWO!

Itami keeps on Ali with a chinlock, and he shouts “Respect me!” Ali endures while fans rally up for him. Ali stands, hits back with body shots, but Itami pushes him to then back drop. Itami boots Murphy back out as he reenters, then covers Ali. TWO, and Itami snarls. Itami kicks Ali in the back, then smirks as Ali writhes. Itami sits Ali up for another kick, then shouts for more respect. Fans boo instead, but Ali goes for a third kick, and hits it. Itami talks trash in Japanese, but he doesn’t see Murphy…

Murphy snapmares and kicks Itami in the back. Itami stands, snapmares and kicks Murphy. Murphy repeats the snapmare and kick, but so does Itami. Neither man backs down, another snapmare and kick and the two grind foreheads. Itami SLAPS Murphy, so Murphy SLAPS back. Itami hits, but Murphy retaliates. Murphy runs, but into Itami’s kitchen sink knee! Itami kicks away on Murphy again, even getting a running start. Murphy writhes around, but Itami still shouts for respect. Ali returns, back suplex and kick to Itami! Ali says Itami should respect him, but then Murphy returns to clobber Ali with a clothesline! Murphy then deadlifts and German Suplexes to a bridge, TWO!

Everyone is down from sore backs, but Murphy is up first. Murphy toys with Ali, then brings him up. Itami returns, so Murphy throws Ali into Itami. Murphy tells him to stay out, but Ali rolls Murphy up, TWO. Ali runs into a sleeper from Murphy! Murphy brings Ali to the mat with his full body weight. Ali won’t give up yet, and fans rally up for him. Ali gets that second wind, but Itami also returns. Itami grabs Murphy in a sleeper! Murphy backs Itami into buckles, then throws elbows. Murphy grabs Ali again, but Ali stunners Murphy! Ali gets to a corner, and boots Itami away as he runs in. Murphy runs in, but Ali slips out to the apron to roundhouse Murphy away.

Ali fires up and takes aim. He slingshots in, but Murphy alley-oops Ali, so the facebuster goes to Itami! Murphy goes to pin Ali but Ali reverses to his own cover, TWO! Ali baits Murphy into a corner, then hits the Reverse-Rana! He keeps going, and hits the flying tornado DDT! Cover, TWO! Ali can’t believe Murphy survives consecutive impacts to the head. He backs off while Murphy and Itami slowly stir. Fans are on Ali’s side as he looms over Itami. Ali brings Itami into the drop zone, then climbs up. Itami trips him up!

Ali is stuck up top, and Itami drags himself up to join Ali. Itami wants a suplex but Ali resists. Murphy joins in, and grabs Itami for a bomb. Itami fights Murphy off, then kicks him away. Itami goes after Ali again, SUPER Back Suplex, but Ali lands on his feet! Murphy grabs Itami, tucks him in, but then runs at Ali to bicycle kick him down. Murphy then SUPERKICKS Itami, and drags him off to top for the AK-DDT! Cover, TWO! All three men are down again, but slowly stirring. Fans build to a rally, and all three men flounder towards each other.

Murphy hits Ali and Itami, but then Ali hits Murphy and Itami. Itami hits Ali and Murphy, but then Murphy unleashes his strike fest. Itami dodges the knee to respond with his own strike fest. Murphy ducks the back hand, and it goes into Ali! Murphy hits that knee, then runs in at Ali, to get a SUPERKICK! Ali springboards back, but Itami boots him out of the air! All three men are down again, and fans are fired up.

The three men stir again, crawling in different directions. Ali stands up while Itami pie-faces Murphy. Itami runs at Ali, and Ali slips out again, but Itami blocks the roundhouse! Itami forearms Ali, then back elbows Murphy. He hits Ali again, but Murphy blocks Itami’s kick, to lift him up for a powerbomb! High stack cover, TWO, Aussie kamigoye! Murphy grabs Ali but gets another roundhouse! Murphy and Itami are stacked in the drop zone, and fans fire up for Ali. Ali climbs, takes aim, and hits a 450! He gets the 2-for-1 special, but he can’t make the cover from sore ribs.

Murphy rolls out, Ali covers Itami, but Murphy drags Ali off! Ali glares at Murphy with wide eyes, but it still takes a lot to stand. Murphy bounces Ali off the announce desk! Murphy clears off the desk, and fans fire up for what they sense is coming. The referee tells Murphy not to do what he’s going to do, but Murphy’s already standing on the table. Ali sweeps the legs! Murphy crashes but Ali gets away. But then he turns around, runs, and SPANISH FLY off the table!!

Both men pay for that one, and fans are losing their minds. Ali drags himself to the ring while Murphy has barely moved. Itami gets Ali with the hesitation dropkick! Cover, TWO!! Even after all that, Ali lives! And Itami is furious. Itami gets a wicked idea, and he undoes a buckle pad. Ali stands, and pulls Itami away with a roll up. TWO, and Ali still goes into buckles! Then, with that bottom buckle now exposed, another hesitation dropkick! Itami’s boot sends Ali’s head into the steel! Itami covers, Itami wins!

Winner: Hideo Itami, by pinfall

Whether he won respect or not, Itami won this match. You don’t have to agree with him exposing steel, but there were no rules against it. Itami has his hand raised now, but will he be the one to challenge for the Cruiserweight Championship? And if he does, will he get his hand raised with the title?

My Thoughts:

Another solid 205 Live tonight with everything meaning something from top to bottom. Gulak and Dorado have a great singles match, and Kendrick does great helping him sneak the win, as a Heel should. These two trios have been doing great, but it sounds like next week’s Elimination Six Man Tag will be their blow-off. I hope the Cruiserweight Tag Team Championships are still going to happen, and the winner of this feud moves on to be one of the contenders to be crowned champions.

TJP builds his story up more, and he even keeps his word of not adding his opponent’s name to his record, because they don’t actually have their match. I’m waiting for a segment where TJP and Maverick talk this out face-to-face. Maybe it comes down to one last match in 205 Live/the Cruiserweight Division for TJP. If TJP wins, he’ll get a championship match. If he loses, he has no choice but to leave the Cruiserweight Division and try to get a spot on Raw, SmackDown or even NXT. Then TJP can come back, having failed to fit in anywhere else, and settle for doing things Maverick’s way. Lio Rush is “officially” part of the Division, and he could easily challenge for the Cruiserweight Championship now, I can’t wait to see him on TV again.

The Triple Threat main event was great, as all the main events on 205 Live have been lately. Maverick loves to keep these from being official Cruiserweight Championship #1 Contenders matches just so it isn’t so easy for any of the competitors. There was so much great stuff, both story and action, and wow that table Spanish Fly. Itami wins as the opportunistic Heel, but it makes sense as he’s the only one not to have faced Alexander yet. Given the trend, Alexander VS Itami won’t happen on PPV, even though it could, but it’ll still be an amazing main event for 205 Live, I hope we get it the go-home week to Extreme Rules.

My Score: 8.5/10
