It’s been quite some time since fans of WWE’s Cruiserweight Division have seen 205 Live Superstar Noam Dar. ‘The Scottish Supernova’ suffered a left knee injury last December, requiring the 24-year old to undergo surgery and miss a lengthy amount of time. Noam would go under the knife on December 14th for what was revealed to be a torn meniscus and while no concrete timetable for his return was given, the belief that he would be on the shelf for roughly five months.
Little updates were given on Dar’s status as are now nearly seven months out from surgery, however that has changed today. PWInsider is reporting that ‘The Scottish Supernova’ is scheduled to be backstage for this week’s WWE television tapings, signifying that his return to the ring is impending.
EA’s Take: I’ve been a big proponent of 205 Live and wanting to see more done with it, one thing specifically being that I’d like for the talent pool to stay fresh. By that, I mean look at the most successful Cruiserweight Division there’s ever been in the US, WCW. They continuously brought in fresh faces every few months and that contributed to keeping it interesting. Granted, we’re familiar with Dar, but he’s been gone for so long that he’ll feel “new again” in a sense. Dar is one of those guys that I feel has been very underrated on 205 Live previously and being that he’s still so young, he has the potential to be a mainstay on the purple brand.
