WWE News: Injured 205 Live Superstar On The Verge Of Returning

Published

on

It’s been quite some time since fans of WWE’s Cruiserweight Division have seen 205 Live Superstar Noam Dar. ‘The Scottish Supernova’ suffered a left knee injury last December, requiring the 24-year old to undergo surgery and miss a lengthy amount of time. Noam would go under the knife on December 14th for what was revealed to be a torn meniscus and while no concrete timetable for his return was given, the belief that he would be on the shelf for roughly five months.

Little updates were given on Dar’s status as are now nearly seven months out from surgery, however that has changed today. PWInsider is reporting that ‘The Scottish Supernova’ is scheduled to be backstage for this week’s WWE television tapings, signifying that his return to the ring is impending.

EA’s Take: I’ve been a big proponent of 205 Live and wanting to see more done with it, one thing specifically being that I’d like for the talent pool to stay fresh. By that, I mean look at the most successful Cruiserweight Division there’s ever been in the US, WCW. They continuously brought in fresh faces every few months and that contributed to keeping it interesting. Granted, we’re familiar with Dar, but he’s been gone for so long that he’ll feel “new again” in a sense. Dar is one of those guys that I feel has been very underrated on 205 Live previously and being that he’s still so young, he has the potential to be a mainstay on the purple brand.

WWE News: SmackDown Live Event Results From Columbia, South Carolina (8/13/18)

Published

on

AJ Styles WWE Champion

While Monday Night RAW was on the air tonight, the Superstars of WWE’s SmackDown Live finished off their string of Live Events with a show this evening in Columbia, South Carolina.

The card remained the same as the rest of this past weekend’s Live Events as Samoa Joe challenged AJ Styles for the WWE Championship, Asuka got a shot at Carmella’s SmackDown Women’s Title, plus Rusev and Lana faced off with Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas and Zelina Vega. There were a couple of changes though, as Tye Dillinger was not in action after taking a nasty fall at last night’s show in Florence, South Carolina (check results here) that knocked him out cold in a match against Shelton Benjamin. Instead, Aiden English went one-on-one with Benjamin, on top of Shinsuke Nakamura defending the US Title against Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton. Below are the results:

  • The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) defeated The Bar
  • Shelton Benjamin defeated Aiden English
  • Rusev & Lana defeated Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas & Zelina Vega
  • United States Title Triple Threat: Shinsuke Nakamura retained over Jeff Hardy & Randy Orton
  • SmackDown Women’s Title: Asuka defeated Carmella by DQ after interference
  • Asuka, Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair defeated Carmella & The IIconics
  • SmackDown Tag Titles: The Bludgeon Brothers retained over Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson
  • WWE Title: AJ Styles retained over Samoa Joe

WWE News: Dean Ambrose Returns On Tonight’s RAW

Published

on

Dean Ambrose

After months of eagerly (and impatiently for some) waiting, WWE Superstar Dean Ambrose finally made his return on tonight’s edition of Monday Night RAW from Greensboro, North Carolina.

Throughout tonight’s show, General Manager kept attempting to contact Seth Rollins, who had been in China the past number of days promoting the upcoming shows in September and was having “travel issues”. Meanwhile Rollins’ SummerSlam opponent and Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler, along with Drew McIntyre, kept pestering Angle and wondering if ‘The KingSlayer’ would even show up for their scheduled SummerSlam contract signing. Since Seth was nowhere to be found, Ziggler decided to look over the contract to make sure Angle didn’t make any “mistakes”, noticing that the contract stated Seth could have someone in his corner.

While Dolph initially wasn’t pleased with this, Kurt would offer taking the clause out, but that would mean McIntyre couldn’t be in his corner at SummerSlam either. With ‘The Show Off’ thinking nothing of it, everybody showed up for the contract signing in the final segment of RAW, but still Rollins was absent. Dolph took the opportunity to berate ‘The Architect’ for not showing up, calling for their SummerSlam match to be officially made a forfeit. However, Seth would make his way out as Ziggler put his name on the dotted line, apologizing for being late and for the fans having to sit through Dolph’s “therapy session”.

Rollins would admit that he actually lied and had been around all night, but wanted to wait until Dolph signed the contract and although he was dealing with some travel issues, they were not his own. ‘The KingSlayer’ would state that he’s been sick of dealing with the two-on-one attacks, so he’s got some backup of his own, introducing Dean Ambrose.
