WWE News: NXT Women’s Title Match Official For TakeOver, Updated Card

Published

on

With the main focus of the WWE Universe revolving the upcoming Money In The Bank pay-per-view at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on June 17th, we also have the next big NXT event the night before in the same building, NXT TakeOver: Chicago II. A number of matches have already been made official and it’s believed that Pete Dunne vs. Adam Cole will also be added, but tonight’s episode of NXT saw another match announced.

In the opening segment, NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler came out to address what happened last week when Nikki Cross swiped her title in a match that only existed in Nikki’s mind. ‘The Queen Of Spades’ vowed that Cross would be sorry if she got in her face again, but that only prompted ‘The Psychotic Scot’ to make an appearance and confront the champion. A brawl would ensue with Nikki getting the better of Baszler, leading to the match officially being added to TakeOver. Below is the announcement, followed by the confirmed card to this point:

NXT Championship
(C) Aleister Black vs. Lars Sullivan

Street Fight
Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa

NXT Tag Team Championship
(C) Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly vs. Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch

Ricochet vs. The Velveteen Dream

NXT Women’s Championship
(C) Shayna Baszler vs. Nikki Cross
