If it seems like WWE Champion AJ Styles has been seldom seen as of late, that’s because he has been. ‘The Phenomenal One’ has appeared in various backstage segments over the past few weeks, however he has not competed in the ring since a dark main event after SmackDown Live on May 22nd. With his title defense in a Last Man Standing match against Shinsuke Nakamura at Money In The Bank coming on Sunday, it doesn’t look like his schedule will be picking up for a couple more weeks.
Currently, Styles is booked for next Monday’s Live Event in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but then is off the road again until June 29th, which is a Live Event in Tokyo, Japan. Following the Tokyo show, AJ’s schedule will be returning to normal.
The last injury news we heard on ‘The Phenomenal One’ was heading into WrestleMania 34 back in April, so at this time it’s not known why Styles has been working such a limited schedule.
