Among today’s big WWE news prior to tonight’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view, the company announced that Hulk Hogan has been officially reinstated into the Hall Of Fame following a three-year suspension due to racially charged comments by Hulk that went public (check that story out here). Of course, this came after Hogan was spotted flying into nearby Cleveland last night despite having no scheduled appearances in the area (read that here).
PWInsider has provided some more insight into how the announcement played out today, as Hulk is indeed backstage for Extreme Rules in Pittsburgh. While there, Hogan met with WWE officials who were left feeling as if he’s “back on board with the company”.
Hulk also made a formal apology to the entire WWE locker room for his comments that surfaced back in 2015. PWInsider reports that several sources who were present for the meeting say that Hulk also apologized for embarassing the WWE, then went on to speak about being careful with your words because they could be recorded due to their public personas. It’s being said that Hogan’s words received a “big reaction” from the locker room and ended with Hulk getting emotional, receiving hugs and handshakes from a number of Superstars.
Hogan also confirmed said meeting on Twitter:
Just met with the @WWE Superstars and on all levels the volume of love and support was overwhelming. I’ve been praying for this day and I finally feel like I made it back home. Only Love 4 the #WWEUNIVERSE brother HH
