WWE RAW Superstar Matt Hardy has been making some waves on social media recently, posting the following on Twitter earlier in the week that many fans took as an indication he may be retiring from the squared circle:
To all that supported me in the independents & OMEGA..
To the fans of Team Xtreme..
To the Mattitude Followers..
To the OUTSPOKEN fans who brought me back in 2005..
To the people who backed me when I was REINCARNATED in pro wrestling..
To the #WOKEN Warriors..
THANK YOU. pic.twitter.com/YkEILcoZh8

While Matt never expanded on the tweet, the WWE Universe started to run a little bit wild with it, thinking that he could be calling it quits. However today, Hardy posted the following to reveal that his body is beginning to show the affects of the years of abuse he has put it through:
This maneuver was called EVENT OMEGA..
And is most likely the reason that I’ve recently learned that my lower back & pelvis have started fusing together. pic.twitter.com/FzYebvIIc0

At this time, it’s not still not known what Matt’s condition is specifically or what exactly he meant by his social media posts. Additionally, it appears to be something that he will continue to work through after competing last night at a RAW Live Event in a Triple Threat for the RAW Tag Team Titles against The B-Team and Baron Corbin and Jinder Mahal (find results here).
EA’s Take: I’m not really certain what Matt is getting at here, but it could be that his career will be ending sooner, rather than later. It’s been a hell of a career at that and personally, if his body is getting that bad or if he’s living in pain, then he should just hang up the boots. There’s no need to continue punishing yourself into your 40’s and after all the TLC matches, trials and tribulations, Matt doesn’t owe us anything. We’ll see what happens here, but I’m assuming a surgery will be needed at some point, whether that be the near future or later down the road.
