As has been reported this week, Rowan of The Bludgeon Brothers suffered an arm injury this past Sunday during the SmackDown Tag Team Title match while defending the championships against The New Day. It was then later revealed that the injury was a torn bicep (check that out here) and he would be traveling to Birmingham, Alabama this week for surgery with Dr. Jeffrey Dugas, who performs the majority of major surgeries for WWE’s Superstars.
Of course last night on SmackDown Live, The New Day received a rematch against The Bludgeon Brothers for the titles after their match at SummerSlam ended in a disqualification. This time around, it was No Disqualifications and with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston representing The New Day, we saw the crowning of new SmackDown Tag Team Champions (read about that here).
Today, WWE has officially announced Rowan’s injury and impending surgery:
Rowan of The Bludgeon Brothers has suffered a torn right bicep, WWE.com has learned.
The former SmackDown Tag Team Champion is currently scheduled to undergo surgery to repair the injury this week.
Stick with WWE.com for news on Rowan’s status as it becomes available.
While nothing has been confirmed, the usual recovery time for a torn bicep is any where from 2-4 months, but generally goes closer to the four month mark. Previously, Rowan underwent the same surgery back in 2015 which kept him on the sidelines from June-October.
