While appearing on ESPN’s The MMA Show with Ariel Helwani yesterday to promote his Netflix series Ultimate Beastmaster, former WWE Superstar CM Punk had some pretty interesting comments about possibly returning to pro wrestling, as well as the talk that he was made an offer to appear at All In.
Recently, Cody spoke with WrestlingInc and cleared the air about whether Punk would be at the show, revealing that Matt Jackson of The Young Bucks had made a legitimate offer to Punk that was declined (check that out here). However in Punk’s words, no real offer for All In was ever made to him:
“No, no, I was never made an offer to be there. They said, ‘Hey, if you want to come, you should come’, and I was like, ‘Oh…well, okay. That’s not an offer’. It definitely wasn’t implied as a fan, but it was extremely vague and…yeah. An offer…it wasn’t an offer.”
Punk was then asked if anyone ever came back to him with again to talk about it and his reply was, “No”. He would also go on to say that he would have been unable to appear at All In regardless, as he’s currently working on a movie and that day was a “shoot day”. Helwani would then question Punk’s feelings on ever returning to wrestling again:
“To me that’s like an escape hatch, you know? I think…I got Beastmaster on Netflix at season three and we’re crossing our fingers we get to move on and do a season four and you know, aside from all the stuff that I can talk to you about, there’s of course all the secret stuff that I’m not allowed to talk about that I’m doing too. So…it’s not even a matter of not going to wrestling because I’m busy doing other stuff, there’s just nothing that interests me in wrestling. So there’s your headline for the clickbait sites out there.”
