NJPW News: Road To Destruction In Osaka Results (9/13/18)

We’re on the verge of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Destruction in Hiroshima featuring Tomohiro Ishii challenging Kenny Omega for the IWGP Heavyweight Title Saturday, but before we get there the Road To Destruction tour continued today with its seventh event in Osaka, Japan.

Today’s card was again stocked up with tag team matches including The Golden Lovers facing Will Ospreay and Tomohiro Ishii in the main event, plus The Bullet Club Firing Squad, Los Ingorbernables de Japon, CHAOS and Suzuki-gun facing off in 6-Man Tag and 8-Man Tag action. Below are the results:

  • Yota Tsuji vs. Yuya Uemura went to a Time Limit Draw
  • Yujiro Takahashi & Chase Owens defeated Ren Narita & Shota Umino
  • Tanga Loa, Tama Tonga, Bad Luck Fale & Taiji Ishimori defeated David Finlay, Michael Elgin, Ayato Yoshida & Juice Robinson
  • Hirooki Goto & Gedo defeated TAKA Michinoku & Taichi
  • EVIL, BUSHI, SANADA & Tetsuya Naito defeated Takashi Iizuka, El Desperado, Minoru Suzuki & Yoshinobu Kanemaru
  • Beretta, YOSHI-HASHI, Kazuchika Okada & Toru Yano defeated Toa Henare, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma
  • The Golden Lovers defeated Will Ospreay & Tomohiro Ishii

Results of the third match at WWE Survivor Series 2018 as Smackdown Tag Team Champions The Bar (along with The Big Show) battled Raw Tag Team Champions AOP (accompanied by 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick).

The third match of WWE Survivor Series 2018 was another first time ever match between Smackdown’s Tag Team Champions The Bar and Raw Tag Team Champions The Bar. Drake Maverick and Big Show seconded their respective teams.

  • AOP had control early, but The Bar would fight back.
  • Sheamus had the match won almost 8 minutes in, but Drake Maverick put his charge’s foot on the bottom rope, breaking up the pin.
  • Big Show them choked Drake Maverick, who pulled a Vince McMahon and peed himself.
  • This allowed AOP to get a hold of Sheamus for their powerbomb/neckbreaker combo, and the win, at 9:12.
  • Raw is now up 3-0 as their bid for a clean sweep of Survivor Series continues.

Results of the second match at WWE Survivor Series 2018 as Raw’s Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins battled Smackdown’s United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura.

The second match of WWE Survivor Series 2018 was a first time ever dream match between Smackdown’s United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and Raw’s Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins.

  • After each man presented their storied entrance to the crowd, the action started with a feeling out process between the two champions.
  • It was a hard fought battle early on as neither man could maintain an advantage long enough to pick up the victory.
  • 15 minutes into the match, Rollins was nearly disqualified as he wouldn’t let up on his kicks on Nakamura who was in the ropes.
  • The match crossed 20 minutes as Rollins kicked out of a Kinshasa
  • Rollins  picked up the win at 21:29 following a Curb Stomp.
  • Raw is now up 2-0 early in the Survivor Series PPV.
