WWE Rumors: Possible Indication Crown Jewel Is Being Moved?

Published

on

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re likely caught up on the big story of the week surrounding WWE’s Crown Jewel event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 2nd.

The alleged murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi by Saudi officials (check the story out here) has led to a lot of fans clamoring for the show to be cancelled and another round of threats by WWE Network subscribers that they will no longer be paying customers should the event go on in its current location. Also, a number of United States Senators have called for WWE to at minimum, “rethink the relationship” (find that story here). Meanwhile, WWE’s only comments on the matter have been that they are “monitoring the situation”.

In some interesting news today, the link to purchase tickets and location have been removed from WWE.com which has led many to believe this is an indication the show will be heading someplace else or even cancelled altogether.

It should be noted there has been some talk that matches scheduled for Crown Jewel could be pushed back to Survivor Series on November 18th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Of course, Crown Jewel currently has the World Cup tournament, Triple Threat for the Universal Title featuring Brock Lesnar’s next match and the big Brothers Of Destruction vs. D-Generation X match scheduled as of today.

The Chairshot will provide further updates as they become available.

WWE News: More Names For SmackDown 1000, Update On Edge’s Status

Published

on

We’re now just two days away from the anticipated 1000th episode of WWE’s SmackDown, emanating from the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C.

The WWE has loaded up with appearances to honor the history of the blue brand, announcing The Undertaker for the show, as well as Batista returning to reunite with Triple H, Ric Flair and Randy Orton as Evolution. Additionally, Rey Mysterio makes his official WWE return and will face off against United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in a World Cup Qualifer.

On top of all of that, others such as Kane, Teddy Long, Vickie Guerrero, Torrie Wilson and Michelle McCool have all been advertised or reported to appear. Last week, it was revealed by WWE that Hall Of Famer Edge would be back to host an edition of his talk show, The Cutting Edge, however all references to that have now been removed from WWE.com. This led to speculation that the ‘Rated R Superstar’ might no longer be appearing, but today PWInsider has confirmed that he is still scheduled for SmackDown 1000.

Additionally, PWInsider notes that two more legendary names have been added for the event as Big Show will be back after returning to the ring on the blue brand last week, as well as WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T. As for the possibility of The Rock showing up at the Capital One Arena, it’s being said that due to filming ‘Hobbes & Shaw’ in London, if he is on SmackDown 1000 it very likely will be a video.
