WWE News: Shawn Michaels Reportedly Set To Have One More Match

Published

on

After WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels returned to Monday Night RAW this week to address the upcoming Triple H vs. The Undertaker match at Super Show-Down in October and the subsequent surprise appearance by ‘The Deadman’, there’s been a lot of speculation among fans about ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ returning to the ring one last time.

According to Dave Meltzer in the most recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Michaels will in fact be coming out of retirement for one more match. It’s being said that Monday’s face-off between Shawn and The Undertaker was the beginning stages of Michaels’ return angle and the match will happen at the next WWE show in Saudi Arabia on November 2nd. Additionally, the plans are not for ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ to have a singles match and while nothing has been confirmed, the belief is he will team with Triple H to face The Undertaker and a partner.

Michaels is scheduled to be at Super Show-Down in Australia, so the most likely scenario will see him get involved in some fashion with the Triple H/Undertaker match to set-up for November 2nd. At this time, there’s no word on who Undertaker’s tag team partner could be with speculation suggesting a reunion with Kane. However due to Kane recently being sworn in as the new Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, his status is up in the air.

EA’s Take: This is going to be unpopular opinion, but I’m not a fan of this. Shawn’s last match was a perfect send-off, taking the spotlight at WrestleMania 26 to a standing ovation following another tremendous match with ‘The Deadman’. Can’t we just leave well enough alone as fans? Why do we always have to clamor for more? I’d prefer my last memory of Michaels in the ring to be just what it is, not this guy with short hair who’s bald spot is pretty prevalent.
