The Jericho Cruise is still out to sea after leaving Miami, Florida this past Saturday on its way to Nassau, Bahamas on Wednesday.
Of course, there are loads of notable names on board and entertainment still lined up, including matches from Ring Of Honor. As was noted this weekend, one such name is finishing his obligations to ROH this weekend as it’s been reported that Cody’s deal with the promotion ends on October 31st and he is not expected to re-sign, however he still will be working with the company up to sometime in January (check that out here).
This morning, Cody was in action on the Jericho Cruise against Delirious and after the match, Cody addressed his future to the crowd. According to WrestlingInc, Cody would state to fans that he doesn’t have any intention of signing with WWE and also wouldn’t be a surprise entrant in January’s Royal Rumble. Additionally, Cody would say that he plans on doing everything he can to make an All In 2 event take place.
Of course we found out months ago that with Cody, as well as The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega all approaching free agent status, the WWE is set to offer them contracts (find that here). This also is on the heels of reports that Chris Jericho and WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross are starting their own promotion, reportedly with Cody and The Young Bucks already agreeing to take part (see that story here).
EA’s Take: Along with ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, all five men have teased what they’ll be up to in the future so I don’t think you can take anything they say seriously at this point. Cody also recently said he wouldn’t be at the G1 Supercard next April in Madison Square Garden. So yeah, grain of salt with this stuff. I still standby my previous feeling that the odds of any going to the WWE are getting slimmer and slimmer though.
