In case you missed it, it was noted earlier today that IMPACT Wrestling was looking to extend the contracts of some of their talent while the company was in New York the last few days for Bound For Glory and two sets of television tapings (that story includes spoilers, which you can see here).
While it was not said which performers IMPACT was looking to sign for a longer term, we may have learned about one of them today as PWInsider is reporting they have confirmed Sami Callihan has come to terms with IMPACT on a new contract. Currently, it’s unknown if the two sides agreed while in New York and terms of the deal, such as the length, are still yet to be heard.
Callihan very quickly became one of IMPACT Wrestling’s top stars when he debuted at Bound For Glory 2017, fittingly referring to himself as ‘The DRAW’ these days. He of course made headlines when a spot that saw Eddie Edwards legitimately struck in the face with a baseball bat kicked off a new wave in popularity/attention for Callihan, elevating his status further. Feuds with the likes of the aforementioned Eddie Edwards, LAX, Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix have kept him near the top of IMPACT programming on a near weekly basis.
