While the WWE Universe is focused on tomorrow night’s Evolution pay-per-view and then next Friday’s Crown Jewel event (whether it be focused on the show or the controversy surrounding it), not long after that comes WWE’s annual November tradition Survivor Series, which will be preceded the night before by NXT TakeOver: War Games.
This year will be NXT’s second War Games event, this time around emanating from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Following last year’s three team War Games match that saw Roderick Strong and The Authors Of Pain face The Undisputed Era and SAnitY, we learned at last week’s NXT television tapings that this year it will be Ricochet, Pete Dunne and War Raiders taking on the four-man Undisputed Era with Bobby Fish back from injury (see the full spoilers here). While that was the only match for November 17th that’s been revealed so far, the venue has now let the cat out of the bag on a couple more.
According to multiple outlets, the Staples Center has run a video promotion for NXT TakeOver: War Games which is advertising Johnny Gargano vs. Aleister Black, as well as the NXT Championship Match which will see The Velveteen Dream challenging Tommaso Ciampa. Of course, we saw evidence that was the direction storylines were headed in on this week’s episode of NXT, the first to come from last week’s television tapings.
