As was noted yesterday, Shayna Baszler suffered an ankle injury during her match against Kairi Sane where she became the first ever two-time NXT Women’s Champion Sunday night at WWE’s Evolution pay-per-view (find that story here).
‘The Queen Of Spades’ was seen after the event at the local airport using crutches, however details on when the injury occurred or the seriousness of the ailment were not known just yet. On the most recent Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reports that the NXT Women’s Champion is just fine and is not expected to miss too much ring time, if any at all. It was also noted that Baszler was using crutches just as a precaution and likely didn’t necessarily need them.
Currently, NXT has already taped all of its television leading up to TakeOver: War Games on Saturday, November 17th, the night before Survivor Series at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Baszler is not scheduled for a title defense at the event, therefore she will have multiple weeks to rest up unless she’s added to the card, which is still possible as WWE could simply film a segment and add it to one of the next three episodes of NXT.
