MLW News: CMLL Titleholder To Make MLW Debut In Miami

Dragon Lee will make his MLW debut next month in Miami!

While there will unfortunately be changes to the lineups for Major League Wrestling’s Fusion television tapings in Miami next month due to injuries (read about one change already made here), the Never Say Never and Zero Hour events on December 13th and 14th have gotten a boost with the addition of a debuting star.

MLW has officially announced that the reigning CMLL World Lightweight Champion Dragon Lee will be making his debut for the promotion at the Miami shows, however no opponent has been named as of yet. This is now the second CMLL star who will be appearing as Rush has also already been announced for the tapings. For fans who might be unfamiliar with Dragon Lee, arguably the most notable news he made in 2018 was being the opponent for New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Hiromu Takahashi when he suffered a broken neck.

Here’s is MLW’s official announcement on Dragon Lee:

Dragón Lee is coming to MLW

Considered by fans, the Mexican press and luchadores as one of if not the best high–flying luchador in the sport, the reigning CMLL World Lightweight Champion will make his Major League Wrestling debut in 2 weeks at MLW’s December double-shot events in Miami.

Dizzying opponents with moves like the Dragon Driver, Operación Dragón and La Lanza, this técnico is the latest top ranked wrestler to enter MLW as part of the league’s 2019 roster reload, an initiative to give fans fresh and exciting big matches.

One of Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre’s most popular luchadores, Dragón Lee fits MLW’s hybrid wrestling vision, being able to blend his fighting base of lucha with strong style, having competed extensively in New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Making a global splash for his celebrated rivalry with Kamaitachi, Dragón Lee would go on to win the masks of Kamaitachi and La Máscara before packed houses in Mexico City’s cathedral of lucha libre, Arena Mexico.

The league will reveal his opponents this week exclusively at MLW.com.
