A very interesting trademark for a new wrestling promotion has been filed!
Last month, a very interesting report regarding the future of Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks was issued by SEScoops, claiming that a new wrestling promotion was being put together by current IWGP Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho and WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross with help from renowned agent Barry Bloom and financial backing by Shad Khan, owner of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars (read the full story here).
The project reportedly also already had the word of Cody and The Young Bucks to be involved, which comes of course just before their Ring Of Honor contracts are set to expire (Cody’s already has, The Bucks’ expire early-2019). Additionally, it was said that there were already talks ongoing with AXS TV to air the new product, however not only has AXS TV now come out and denied any involvement (find that here), but both Jericho (see that here) and Jim Ross (check his reaction out here) have both made light of the talk.
In some pretty intriguing news today reported by WrestlingNews as a new LLC filing for the names ‘All Elite Wrestling’, ‘AEW’, ‘AEW Double Or Nothing’ and ‘AEW All Out’. While this could seem like a coincidence, what makes this most interesting is that the address for the LLC is for TIAA Bank Field which is the home of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.
EA’s Take: Well, this is certainly “damning evidence” you could say. We always ask people to #UseYourHead when it comes to wrestling news, but just personally, I’m putting my stamp on it being true now. Whether Ross or Jericho are involved, I don’t think you can get any indication of that from this. But, the use of ‘Elite’ and the reference the ‘All Out’ have really sold me. That’s one HELL of a coincidence if it’s not the case.
