Silas Young has revealed he will be a free agent very soon!
As we near the close of the calendar on 2018, Ring Of Honor could be losing a number of stars as they are about to hit free agency.
We’ve already heard how Cody will not be re-signing with the promotion and his final match has already been announced, as he will challenge Jay Lethal for the ROH World Title at Final Battle (see that announcement here). As the page turns to 2019, The Young Bucks, as well as ‘Hangman’ Adam Page will also have expiring contracts and now it looks like there’s another member of the ROH roster that could be on his way out.
In an interview with WrestlingInc’s WINCLY podcast, two-time ROH World Television Champion Silas Young revealed that his contract with the promotion is expiring at the end of the year and addressed his next move while speaking about the other crop of talent that’s approaching free agency:
“Well you know, you can never say never in wrestling. You know, WWE’s really had a thing in the last couple years where they’ve really been signing a lot of talent up. You know, my time’s up at the end of the year. I’m not opposed to talking to either side. You know when it comes down to it, it’s a business at the end of the day so you gotta go with what’s best for you and your family so…I’m you know…I love Ring Of Honor. I feel like there’s things there I’d like to accomplish still so you know, saying that…nothing’s set in stone.”

EA’s Take: Full disclosure, I’m not super familiar with Silas Young. However, he’s 39-years old so if he ever wants to make that move to WWE (if they’re interested), this is likely his last chance. I can’t really see him doing much on the main roster, but Triple H just spoke this week about NXT being enough of a brand that they could have their own Superstars who never get called up. Silas could be a perfect fit for that.
