ROH World Champion Jay Lethal has a new Ring Of Honor contract!
One of the ongoing stories wrestling fans have been following throughout the year is the impending free agency of top stars Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega and Hangman Page, especially as we get closer to their deals expiring (Cody’s already has).
With Cody, The Young Bucks and Page all being top talents for Ring Of Honor that point to being lost, they have now locked down their top titleholder. According to PWInsider, ROH World Champion Jay Lethal has signed a new contract to remain with the promotion, as his current deal would have also expired at the end of 2018. At this time there’s no word on how long the deal is for.
Lethal has spent the last seven years with ROH after a six year stint with TNA/IMPACT Wrestling. The 33-year old is in the midst of his second ROH World Title reign and will defend next against the aforementioned Cody in his final match with the company at Final Battle on December 14th.
Additionally, PWInsider has noted that Ring Of Honor have been diligently working on re-signing a number of stars while also venturing out to find new talents in what’s being called a “seek and sign mode”.
