What’s the next step for Christopher Daniels’ career?
As has been noted, last weekend’s Ring Of Honor events, Final Battle in New York City and Final Battle Fallout (see all the results here) in Philadelphia, closed the book on the tenures of a number of the company’s talents including Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, Hangman Page and others.
Among those “others” are still some key losses such as Christopher Daniels, finished his third run with the company last weekend by being handed an ROH deal, but was ambushed from behind. At the age of 48, some fans wonder what he would do next as there aren’t many places the 25-year veteran hasn’t been.
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, while Daniels is currently taking independent bookings for the first time since 2014, it looks like there are only two real options for ‘The Fallen Angel’. It’s being said that Daniels has yet to make a decision, but re-signing with Ring Of Honor is on the table. The other would be that of the upstart All Elite Wrestling.
At this time there’s no word on when Daniels could be making a decision on his next move. Stick with The Chairshot for further updates as they become available.
EA’s Take: While I obviously have no idea what the man’s thinking, if I’m Daniels I would be a little torn. I think the more exciting option is clearly All Elite Wrestling, but here would be my predicament; What if it fails? If you’re Daniels, would you want to possibly finish your career for something that doesn’t succeed? Now of course the other side of that is going there and he becomes one of the foundations of its future. So flip a coin, Chris!
