A Superstar has been removed from WWE Worlds Collide Tournament!
In case you missed it, yesterday WWE officially announced that during Royal Rumble Axxess in Phoenix, which begins on January 25th, will see a 15-Superstar tournament pitting brands against one another called Worlds Collide that will be taped for a WWE Network Special (check out the announcement here).
The tournament that will feature NXT, NXT UK and 205 Live had a pretty good lineup of Superstars scheduled including Adam Cole, The Velveteen Dream, Tyler Bate, Cedric Alexander and more also may have spoiled the impending arrival of a new 205 Live Superstar, something that 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick has discussed on recent episodes.
Listed as competing for 205 Live yesterday was Humberto Carrillo, formerly known as Ultimo Ninja, who has made a few appearances on NXT television while competing at NXT Live Events. Today though, Carrillo has been removed from the Worlds Collide participant list and replaced by, “A Superstar to be named”.
Currently, it’s being speculated that Carrillo being listed as a participant may have been a mistake on WWE’s part since he has yet to debut with the brand, however that can not be confirmed. At this time, it’s believed that Carrillo could debut prior to Royal Rumble weekend and would therefore be added back to the World Collide tournament, but again, that is just speculation.
