Tyler Breeze Unhappy With WWE?

Since the announcement of the All Elite promotion, it seems there have been quiet a few stories coming out on wrestlers who currently are not happy with their roles in WWE. It looks like you can add Tyler Breeze to that list. Breeze had a series of tweets today that seemingly were voicing his displeasure with WWE.

Jason’s Take

I have always thought that Breeze was very talented in NXT, and had an opportunity for a long mid card title run on the main roster. For whatever reason, it just hasn’t worked out that way. It felt like he was coming into his own as part of the Fashion Police, but after the Fandango injury, Breeze hasn’t been on TV much.

Tenille Dashwood A Free Agent

It seems like many wrestlers have been freed up from their current contracts this past week, and you can add Tenille Dashwood to the list. Dashwood posted on her Instagram account that she is a free agent, happy and healed.

Jason’s Take

I would imagine she would most likely be heading to AEW, and would be a perfect fit for the promotion. Once again, another talented superstar that WWE never seemed to know what to with.

SmackDown Extending To Three Hours?

SmackDown is getting ready for its big move to FOX this fall, and part of the move may include expanding the show to three hours. While nothing is yet confirmed, both Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez speculated on the expansion on Sunday’s Wrestling Observer Radio.

“That’s just speculation but there is a chance because the feeling is since they have to film anyway and 205 Live is just kind of a waste of air then maybe what they’ll do is 2 hours from 8 to 10 on Friday nights and then do hour number 3 from 10 to 11 on FS1,” Meltzer said. “The idea is they can get another 50 million per year off of Fox by getting that extra hour. It’s not like it’s a done deal by any means but it’s more than me throwing out an idea. It’s being talked about. In the financial community, they are expecting it.”

Jason’s Take

If the WWE can make money off of expanding to three hours, they will do it. SmackDown, in my opinion, is superior to RAW right now, and expanding it seems like a terrible idea.

John Cena’s Role For WrestleMania

Many were hoping, including myself, that John Cena would return to WrestleMania to take on Kurt Angle. We know that isn’t going to happen, but many are wondering if there are plans for Cena to return at the pay per view. Dave Meltzer speculated that there is a contract for Cena to return for a match that many expect Cena to sign, though no names are currently being mentioned to face Cena

Jason’s Take

Cena returns to face Kevin Owens perhaps ?

Names Added To The Andre Battle Royal

There are currently 26 names that have been added to the Andre The Giant Memorial battle royal. They include:

Braun Strowman
Colin Jost
Michael Che
Andrade
Apollo Crews
Titus O’Neil
Tyler Breeze
Jinder Mahal
No Way Jose

Lince Dorado

Jason’s Take

I would not be surprised to see Braun Strowman walk away victorious in this match.

Mitchell’s AEW Continental Classic Update! (11/27/23)

What a start to the tournament!

Did your picks win points?

The AEW Continental Classic is underway, with almost everyone competing. Check in here if you haven’t seen the winners and losers of week 1!

Here are your Gold League standings!

  • Jon Moxley: 1-0, 3 points
  • Swerve Strickland: 1-0, 3 points
  • Jay White: 1-0, 3 points
  • Rush: 0-1, 0 points
  • Mark Briscoe: 0-1, 0 points.
  • Jay Lethal: 0-1, 0 points

Here are your Blue League standings!

  • Brody King: 1-0, 3 points
  • Claudio Castagnoli: 1-0, 3 points
  • Daniel Garcia: 0-1, 0 points
  • Eddie Kingston: 0-1, 0 points
  • Bryan Danielson: Yet to Compete
  • Andrade El Idolo: Yet to Compete

My Thoughts:

Nothing too crazy, nothing too wild, this tournament only just got started. The only disappointing point is that they could not get Bryan “cleared to compete” Saturday night. Not sure how much of that is shoot given the bad eye, but this was kinda the problem of wanting him in the tournament over tons of other choices. Bryan wants to face Okada for WrestleKingdom 18, how is Bryan supposed to do that at his best if he’s also gonna be in a round robin, doing five top level matches in about as many weeks? And it takes away from Andrade being able to do something. Also a little surprised we didn’t even hear from Andrade on Saturday.

Now as we heard on Saturday, round two’s matches are set. Gold League will see Mark Briscoe VS Rush, White VS Swerve, and of course, Moxley VS Lethal. Nice variety there, a couple 0-1 guys facing off, as well as two 1-0 guys, and then 1-0 VS 0-1. No offense to Lethal, but he feels like an 0-2 going up against Moxley. Hard to call the other ones but that’s the fun of it. Meanwhile, Blue League sees Brody VS Claudio in a showdown to be 2-0, then Bryan and Andrade finally jump in, Bryan against Eddie and Andrade against Garcia. Sadly, feels like Eddie and Garcia are going 0-2, no way Tony Khan is booking Bryan and Andrade to lose their first shots.

In fact, that could be half the reason they did wait on those two, that’s almost too good for just a first round opener. But I still would’ve done it, same as NJPW does stuff like that for round robins, which this is all modeled after anyway.
