Chris King shares the final nail in the coffin of the old Bayley to cement her heel turn and it’s definitely not PG.
On this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Bayley shocked the WWE Universe by revealing she cut her hair followed by proceeding to murder her inflatable buddies. She also had a SmackDown Women’s Championship rematch against Charlotte Flair where she stole the title with a handful of tights.
Bayley recently turned heel when she blasted the Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch with vicious chair shots alongside her best friend Sasha Banks. Ever since Bayley has been portraying a much more conniving and wily character. At SummerSlam, after losing her title Bayley had a post-match breakdown crying and uttering “Why does this always happen to me.”
So, what happens next? What was more symbolic of Bayley’s huggable character besides the inflatable buddies? Her undying passion to inspire her fans as Bayley would make her entrance she would hug the little girls in the crowd.
I understand that WWE partners with Be A Star to promote no-bullying but in order for the “old” Bayley to fully disappear there’s one little girl she needs to make cry: Izzy. During her time in NXT, as she was developing her character Izzy was always in the NXT Universe cheering her on. I’m not saying Bayley needs to bully her at all but I am saying somehow she needs to make Izzy lose complete hope in her childhood hero.
It wouldn’t hurt to see Bayley deliver a backstage promo burning all her old huggable ring attire reminiscent to what Dean Ambrose did after turning heel.
Bayley will still play a great villain if she doesn’t do this or WWE doesn’t allow it to happen. In my opinion, though it will not matter how many times she cheats or all the wily manners she uses to keep her SmackDown Women’s Championship if there’s even a shred of the “old” persona it’s not a complete heel turn in my book. I’d love to hear your thoughts on Bayley’s heel turn and if there’s anything else you would like to see happen.
