WWE Raw War Raiders Tag Team Champions

Chris King shares his takeaways from this week’s episode of Raw. New Tag Team Champions, some great matches, and more!

The Street Profits VS. THE O.C.

On this week’s episode of Raw, the newest addition to the red brand The Street Profits were delivering another one of their electric Flavor Flav hype backstage promos when they were so brutally introduced to Monday nights by none other than The O.C., AJ Styles claimed that he was completely unsure why the USA Network even picked them.

The O.C. appeared to leave it was a ruse as all three members began a three-on-two beatdown to the former NXT tag team champions. On their first night as official members of Raw, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins enter into a feud that will not only be extremely entertaining but sharing the ring with one of the most decorated tag teams in WWE will do wonders for their career.

Later in the night, Ford wanted to go and find The O.C., but Dawkins resisted and proclaimed they needed a mystery partner to even the odds. After several months of only delivering hype backstage promos, The Street Profits are now involved in a great first main roster feud and I couldn’t be more excited.

Buddy Murphy Gains An Impressive Victory Against Cedric Alexander

Buddy Murphy and Cedric Alexander deliver another show-stealing performance. Both former Cruiserweight Champions added another chapter to their storied history except this time it was on the flagship show of WWE.

The two amazing cruiserweights from 205 Live gave the WWE Universe just a taste of what they can produce with more time. It’s been a year since they’re squared off but trust me when I tell you they haven’t missed a freaking beat! “WWE’s Best Kept Secret” picked up a major victory on his first night on Raw.

The Viking Raiders Win Tag Team Gold

And…WE HAVE NEW RAW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!!! The Viking Raiders defeated Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler in a great back-and-forth match. Roode and Ziggler attempted everything possible to retain their tag titles including a nasty-looking Zig-Zag through chairs in the timekeeper’s area. Reminiscent of their clash last week, Erik and Ivar outlasted the onslaught to stake their claim and begin the raid on Monday nights.

The Dutch Destroyer Arrives/Seth Rollins Burns The Firefly Funhouse

Last but certainly not least, Monday Night Raw acquired “The Dutch Destroyer” Aleister Black in night two of the WWE draft. After several months of being underutilized on SmackDown Live, Black will hopefully be given the fight that he so desperately petitions for. I would love to see Black VS. Rollins for the Universal Championship! That would be one hell of a match!

This week’s episode of Raw was definitely a step up from last week with several fantastic contests and some unforgettable moments and the show ended with “The Beastslayer” burning The Firefly Funhouse to the ground!
