A real good 205 Live, which was more or less unaffected by the Crown Jewel Saudi Arabia flight delays. Luckily they kept people back for a show like this just in case. Swerve VS Daivari was a great choice to open, it was a logical rematch from last time, but man did Buffalo just not care. Were they that exhausted from being given such a great SmackDown? Swerve gets a great win to carry over the NXT invasion from SmackDown, and solidifies his spot on 205 Live regardless. Gallagher makes his squash match fun, and I hope he gets to do something really fun when WWE returns to the UK. For that matter, I wonder if we’re getting regularly used UK Cruiserweights or what. A-Kid could do something really great, Noam Dar could have an interesting return, it all just needs to be a really fun night to follow this one up.
Lio Rush VS Raul Mendoza was also a great match, almost as if it was for the title itself. That match woke the crowd up, they got into it, and rightfully so. Naturally, Lio wins because he’s the champ. Nese was among those stuck in Saudi Arabia, but I imagine he might have something to say once WWE is in the UK. It still feels like Rush VS Nese will be the title match, but at the same time, with 205 Live already working so closely with NXT and NXT UK, it would be great to bring in more Cruiserweights from the black and gold to help give them momentum. Travis Banks, El Ligero, even Jordan Devlin would make for some great competition for either one of them.
My Score: 8.4/10
