Cero Miedo is still in the top five tag team rankings! Can they make another run at the titles? As for Omega and Hangman they regroup in the ring. Hangman seems to be upset with Omega despite his Buck Shot hitting. Omega shoves, Hangman shoves, but PAC is backstage and wants to talk!
“Kenny Omega. Do you remember who I am, huh?” Pac doesn’t think he does. He asked a question and has yet to get an answer. But perhaps Pac should remind Omega what he is capable of. Pac heads deeper into the back, and finds the men’s locker room. Is that Michael Nakazawa sitting in there? Pac closes the door behind him, and we can only imagine what is happening to one of Omega’s closest friends! Omega hurries to the back, even through the crowd! AEW looks at how Jungle Boy Jack Perry prepared for tonight’s huge test.
Chris Jericho said there’s no way the young star lasts even 10 minutes against him. But all of that condescension just fueled the fire within. JB won’t let Y2J look down on him. He got an unofficial pinfall on Jericho, can he do it for real in 10 minutes or less? Can he at least prove Jericho wrong and run out the clock? Or will Le Champion finish up his 2019 with a victory?
Awesome Kong w/ The Nightmare Collective VS Miranda Alize!
As the song says, “There are 8 million ways to die. She’s one.” And while the holidays may be on their way, Brandi Rhodes says that Kong winning is inevitable. But the real concern is Kris Statlander winning against Britt Baker and becoming the “#1 threat to the AEW Women’s Division.” Brandi has a good feeling that tonight is the night The Alien comes home to her family. And the mystery man is still laying in wait. Is this the night the Collective takes over?
The bell rings and Kong circles with her red-haired opponent. Alize throws hands but they don’t even itch Kong. The knee does more damage, but then Alize runs into Kong’s BACK HAND! Kong drags Alize up as Brandi and Melanie Cruise watch on. Underhooks, and IMPLANT BUSTER! Cover, Kong wins!

AEW shares Jim Ross’ exclusive interview with Jungle Boy.
JR knows tonight’s ten minute match is a big opportunity. Is JB at all intimidated. JB says that he sees Jericho two ways now: the man, and the legend. Jericho the man does not scare JB. But JB respects the legend, the accomplishments and experience. JB is very aware of the “gravity” of this moment, but the pressure makes greatness. JB will tackle the challenge and Jericho head on. If his dad was still here, what does JB think he’d be thinking? Luke Perry would be very proud of his son. They spent a lot of time together talking about making this pro-wrestling career happen. For JB to be here talking to JR, going against Jericho, this is what his dad dreamed for him. And that moment has come, right now!
10 Minute Challenge: Chris Jericho VS Jungle Boy!
This is the moment! Corpus Christi will either see Le Champion dominate once again, or see perhaps the biggest upset in wrestling! What comes from Jericho’s last match in 2019?
Before Jungle Boy makes his entrance, and while AEW is picture in picture, Sammy Guevara appears to hold up cue cards for Jericho. “People say that they can’t hear us during picture-in-picture.” How self-aware! “Does the Network (TNT) think we’re stupid? The Inner Circle…” And we go to break. What is the rest of the speech?!
TNT- er, uh, AEW returns, and Jurassic Express accompanies Jungle Boy to the ring. They’re being his corner men for this one-and-done 10 minute round. JB hydrates before the bell rings, and the countdown begins!

JB runs, but Jericho elbows him down! LIONSAULT FLOPS! JB LIONSAULTS! And it hits! Cover, TWO!! JB won’t give up, he runs and comes in, to get a LARIAT! Jericho has JB back down at three minutes left. Jericho covers, TWO! Jericho kicks at JB while he’s down but fans are not slowing down. They keep cheering as Jericho CHOPS JB into a corner. Jericho puts JB under the ropes, for a GUILLOTINE CATAPULT! JB gasps for air as Jericho stands on his chest! The ref counts but Jericho lets up. We’re at the two minute warning, too!
Fans boo as Jericho drags JB back up. JB throws hands but so does Jericho. JB throws counter punches! And a CHOP! JB whips, but Jericho sees the back drop coming, POWERBOMB! Time Limit Draw
JB survives and Jericho is in shock! Jericho thought JB tapped or something! Now Le Champion is furious! “Five more minutes! Give me five more minutes!!” Justin Roberts and the timekeepers aren’t really sure what to do, so they give in! We’re going into overtime!

Fans applaud JB and boo Jericho, but JB says this just means he had Jericho. Jericho doesn’t care, he goes through the entrance way! A moral victory to say the least for Jungle Boy. Will Jericho ever live this down?
AEW is picture in picture as we wait for word on what’s going on. Jericho returns?! But Jungle Boy was already excused. That’s because Jericho is throwing another tantrum! He tosses the ring bell, the hammer, the steps, and even hurls insults at the Perry family! Jericho uses a chair to SMACK the post, and even threatens the camera crew. Jericho knocks over the timekeeper table before flexing at fans. Jericho storms off again, having vented his frustrations. Jericho hears the fans calling him names and eggs them on. Tony Schiavone wants to talk to the “pretty upset” Jericho. Jericho says Jungle Boy couldn’t beat him, so he proved that. No, he said JB couldn’t last 10 minutes, and he did. No he didn’t. Yes he did. SHUT UP, SKEEBO! Jericho will beat you up! And the fans, for that matter!
Jericho says JB did not beat him, but that’s not the point. They’ll settle this later. But right now, the real story is about Jericho’s “good friend,” Jon Moxley, and the invitation open to him. Will Moxley join the Inner Circle? Jericho has a feeling he knows what the answer is, but the Inner Circle stayed in the Inner Sanctum, Jericho’s very lavish mansion. Jericho mocks the Texas fans for not knowing what a mansion is. But Jericho says Moxley is in for some big surprises should he join. Surely Moxley talked it over with his wife and mother. Jericho says that while Dynamite takes Christmas off, there will be a big New Year’s Day surprise. All Moxley has to do is say yes. Choose wisely. Until then, Merry Christmas from the Inner Circle.
Backstage interview with SoCal Uncensored.
Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky are to defend the AEW World Tag Team Championships tonight, how are they feeling about this? But then the Lucha Brothers come in to remind them of Daniels’ botched Arabian Press. Maybe Daniels doesn’t have it anymore. Kaz tells Daniels he should show Pentagon what he still has. Daniels pushes past Pentagon, is that a telling sign in itself?

“Life pivots on a moment. For one lucky superstar in AEW, that moment, that time, is now.” Here in AEW, the tag team championships actually matter! Tag team wrestling actually matters! They’re marquee, their main event material, even here tonight! Big checks for the tag team champions. But they’re missing that perfect partner. Tully knows he has to be “the guy” that can be molded, palatable. That is what a tag team is all about. Arn Anderson and Tully could just look at each other and know what to do. That is the kind of mental connection Spears needs. The scouting continues, will Tully and Spears be able to create tag team #PERFECT10N?

The Bucks are put together, Scorpio runs and FLIES! Direct hit on them both! SCU gets Matt in and bring Scorpio up. Alley-oop tornado DDT! Cover, TWO! Matt lives but Scorpio drags Matt up and around. An incredible main event, but SCU doesn’t have time to celebrate! Because Dark Order Creepers are flooding ringside! The Bucks and SCU don’t realize until they’re already completely surrounded. And then the lights go out! The Dark Order’s demented leaders are here! Evil Uno congratulates SCU on the “fantastic display of tag team wrestling.” However, the Young Bucks suffered a hard loss. Any other night, they’d ask to be part of the Dark Order. But tonight is not about recruitment. Tonight is about initiation. “Dark Order, put them down!”
The Creepers rush the ring, but get haymakers and SUPERKICKS! Some Creepers lose their masks, and it’s The Beaver Boys! Alex Reynolds and John Silver joined the Dark Order’s army of minions! And the top two tag teams are swarmed by the horde! Christopher Daniels hurries out to help his friends but he’s just one of the victims! Reynolds and Silver make sure to coordinate the attack, but here comes Kenny Omega! Omega lost one friend tonight, he won’t lose more! But even with a V-TRIGGER at the ramp, the Cleaner is overwhelmed! Stu Grayson joins in but here come the Rhodes Boys! Cody and Dustin add on and fight as best they can, but there are just too many Creepers! Stu, Reynolds, Silver and the swarm beat down all eight men!
Grayson throws Omega out, then Cody and Dustin and SCU. Evil Uno finally gets in now that it is only the Young Bucks in the ring. Grayson brings out special purple masks! Evil Uno speaks again, “I told you this was an initiation.” That’s because the Beaver Boys are officially top members of the Creeper horde! Evil Uno sticks his hand in Matt’s mouth to sample the blood from his lips. “We Are One!” But who else will join this twisted faction in the New Year?
Another great episode closes out Dynamite for 2019, but there was also a lot of great stuff set up for 2020. This time, AEW blending and intertwining stories worked out really well, it all went rather smoothly. Hangman & Omega VS Lucha Brothers was a great match, and it made a lot of sense in story for Omega and Hangman to lose here. For one, they’re not considered a veteran tag team, Pentagon and Fenix are and therefore should win. It was great for Pac to interject himself in the dysfunction of Omega and Hangman while apparently abducting Nakazawa. Even Lucha Brothers beating up Omega just because was good, given the AAA connection. It also seems to be a great seed planted that Hangman was the only one not to show up and help SCU and Bucks at the end. This will surely come up as part of Being the Elite and hopefully the New Year’s Day “Homecoming” episode.
While talking about the ending segment, the tag team main event was amazing! While Spears and Tully do another unnecessary passive aggressive dig at WWE, it is true that tag team wrestling still gets a better showcase here than there. Spears wants a partner, maybe someone new is debuted to be that partner. SCU VS Young Bucks was amazing, and SCU retaining is just fine because of how amazing the match is. Perhaps the Dark Order is moving up in time for AEW Revolution in February. I sense that the three purple-masked elite Creepers are going to join Uno and Grayson in a bigger match with either The Elite (Bucks, Omega, Cody & Dustin) or Bucks & SCU. Plus, there is a great possibility that the first purple Creeper is Brandon Cutler, as a betrayal of the Bucks.
Cody and Darby had a pretty good match with Butcher, Blade and Bunny, and it was great for them to win given the deal they struck. I would love if social media helped arrange Cody VS Darby rematch for New Year’s Day, too, because I don’t think we can or should wait that long. The Women’s Division has a good story leading into that episode, too. Even with all signs pointing to Kris Statlander moving into contention, she had a good match with Britt Baker. It could’ve been better, and I’m starting to think Brandi’s promo diss on Britt might’ve been her shoot feelings. Of course, the heel to the eye, I wonder if that’s a way to keep Kris from the title match even for a huge episode like the homecoming.
Jungle Boy and Jericho in their 10 minute time limit match was so much fun. JB is a huge hit with fans already, and how great for him to make it to the time limit. Apparently in kayfabe, the “overtime” wasn’t considered official, which is fine because otherwise Jericho would’ve lost on count-out and that’s still a loss to JB. But his tantrum over it is great consistency. Also how dare TNT cut away from the cue card promo during picture in picture. It was almost like they did it on purpose before Jericho made fun of them. Jericho’s plans for Moxley on New Year’s Day are very intriguing. I wonder if it is to set up a bunch of welcoming gifts as props for Moxley to just destroy, perhaps even on the bodies of the Inner Circle. AEW Revolution has to be when we’re getting Jericho VS Moxley given all this set-up. Just like Full Gear, a match with Moxley will make Revolution feel like a huge night.
My Score: 9.1/10
