Chris Jericho joins AEW commentary!
Le Champion brings Floyd the baseball bat as a special guest of his own as he sits with Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone and Excalibur at the desk. “Back in business, baby!” The world wanted it ever since Jericho and “Skee-a-vone” took over while JR was at home and Excalibur was milking cows or whatever he does home in Bakersfield, California or whatever. What will Jericho have to say about his boys in the Inner Circle being in action later tonight?
FTR VS The Butcher & The Blade!
Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood got in the way of the brawl between Andy Williams, Braxton Sutter and the Young Bucks, and then got into it backstage during interview time. But while FTR means whatever you want it to mean, will it be victorious in an AEW in-ring debut?
The teams sort out and the crowd is hot for FTR. Dax starts against Blade and they circle with the bell. They tie up, go around, and break. They go again, Blade puts Dax in a corner but lets up at 4. Dax comes back, ties up with Blade, but gets put back in the corner. The ref counts but has to break them up. Blade argues with the ref while we get a look at Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson both taking notes of these two teams. Behind Arn is Shawn Spears, but Spears is glaring straight ahead at the ring. We also see Lance Archer and Jake the Snake watching, but they don’t seem that impressed yet.
Back in the ring, Blade and Dax reset and tie up. Dax headlocks and gets the takeover, but Blade avoids the cover. Blade fights up to his feet and powers Dax to ropes. Dax lets go but Blade kicks low! Blade CHOPS but Dax CHOPS back! It’s a CHOP fight already! Blade and Dax switch to forearms, then Dax headlocks only for Blade to power out. Dax runs Blade over but keeps moving! Things speed up, Dax slides under Blade to waistlock and O’Conner roll! TWO, but Dax is right on Blade with a cradle! TWO, and Dax gets the headlock takeover! The crowd cheers the technical exchange, and Dax wrenches Blade to tag in Cash. Cash leaps up with knees! Cash wrenches to a shoulder breaker then tags in Dax. Cash feeds Blade to Dax’s knee, then snapmares Blade for Dax to stomp away on the arm!
Dax drags Blade up and wrenches to hit a Northern Lights Suplex! Bridging cover, TWO, but Dax is on Blade with a keylock. Blade powers Dax to the corner and Butcher tags in, but Cash backs up his partner. The teams stare down but settle down. The crowd is thunderous for FTR as Butcher waits for Dax. Cash tags in and he circles with Butcher, but Butcher swipes at Dax! Dax anchors Butcher’s foot and Cash waistlocks. Butcher fights free but Cash hits back with forearms and uppercuts! Cash runs and collides with Butcher, but Butcher doesn’t budge! Cash tries again, but Butcher still stays up. Butcher ducks but Cash hurdles, and dropkicks Butcher! Butcher stays up but Cash clutches an arm. A bad landing at a bad time, perhaps? The ref checks on Cash and he has to keep Butcher back. But Cash was faking it and he rolls Butcher up!! TWO, and Butcher CROSSBODIES Cash!
Butcher drags Cash up to bump off buckles then tags in Blade. Butcher CHOPS, Cash CHOPS, but Blade smothers Cash in the corner. The ref reprimands Blade but Butcher gets away with choking Cash! Dax protests but the ref keeps him back. Cash is let go but Blade stomps him around. Cash throws hands but Blade rakes eyes. Blade chokes Cash on the ropes but lets up at 4. Butcher tags in and he chokes Cash now! He lets up at 4 then drags Cash up to the corner. Butcher throws hands then tags in Blade. They double headbutt Cash again and again, but the crowd rallies up. Blade brings Cash up but Cash throws elbows. Blade snapmares and wraps a chinlock on to grind Cash down.
Cash endures, the crowd rallies up, and Cash hits a jawbreaker! Cash is free again, but Blade gets him with a facelock. But Cash powers up to head for his corner! Blade sucker punches Dax off the apron but turns around into a headlock. Blade powers out but Cash catches Blade’s leap for a POWERSLAM! Both men are down and the crowd fires up. Cash crawls, hot tag to Dax! Dax rallies on Blade with jab after jab and a haymaker! Another! Dax hoists Blade up for a BIG back suplex! Dax dropkicks Butcher off the apron to then give Blade a swinging neckbreaker! Butcher runs in but his boot is caught for a dragon screw! Blade kicks low and reels Dax in, but Dax suplexes for a BRAIN BUSTER!
Dax drags Blade up and brings him over to the corner. He puts Blade up top, climbs up to join him, but has to fight Butcher off with haymakers! Butcher shoves Dax down but Cash catches Butcher in the ropes! FTR combines for a DOUBLE DRAPING DDT! The Viper’s influence is still strong and Cash goes after Blade. Blade boots Cash away, but Dax ROCKS Blade with an uppercut! Dax climbs up, Dash tags in, and the SUPERPLEX is followed by the FROG SPLASH! Cover, TWO!?! Blade survives the combo and the legends in the crowd are taking note. Cash tags Dax in and they coordinate on Blade. They double whip, Blade ducks and Butcher trips Cash! Blade rolls Dax with tights, TWO!! BIG KNEE rocks Dax! Butcher tags in, Dax is fed to the lift, assisted Gunn Slinger! Cover, TWO!! Blade tags back in and they coordinate, but Cash makes the save! Cash helps Dax give Butcher the SHATTER MACHINE!! Or now, the Goodnight Express! But Blade is after Dax again! Backslide battle but Cash tags in! SPIKE PILEDRIVER!! The Mind-Breaker is definitely what Arn and Tully like, and Cash covers, FTR wins!
Winners: FTR, by pinfall
Tonight, it stands for #FearThrowbackRasslin! Okay, that’s not a perfect acronym, but it’s what FTR does. Schiavone interviews them in the ring and congratulates them on the win. That’s exactly what they wanted to do, right? Dax says it is. This is the pinnacle of professional and tag team wrestling. But the Young Bucks come out and join FTR in the ring. Nick doesn’t want to be rude, but he and Matt want to congratulate them on that great match. Matt says they also wanted to thank FTR for that save. And while they appreciate the sentiment, they also couldn’t help but notice Cash and Dax failed to “properly introduce” themselves. It’s fine, it’s fine. They’re all here now, so maybe they can have that now?
“My name’s Matt. This is my brother Nick. We’ve been carrying tag team wrestling solely on our backs for the past decade and a half!” They’re the best tag team in AEW! They’re the Young Bucks! It’s nice to finally meet you. But then Butcher attacks! Cash and Dax go after him with fury, but then the Superbad Squad get involved! Kip Sabian and Jimmy Havoc want after FTR but the Bucks back Cash and Dax up! We have a brawl, but here come Kenny Omega and Hangman Page! The Elite run the Superbad Squad off but then stand off with FTR. But specifically, the AEW World Tag Team Champions are looking at their crop of contenders just a month away from Fyter Fest. Omega and the Bucks keep peace, but there will come a tag team war soon enough. Who will fight the champs at Fyter Fest?
Backstage interview with The Natural Nightmares and Allie.
Brandi Rhodes, Dustin, QT Marshall and QT’s cutie hear breaking news. Dustin and QT will face Kenny Omega and Hangman Page for the AEW World Tag Team Championships next week! Are the top contenders ready? Brandi wants to address something first. Why does Allie have a Nightmare Family jacket?! QT made that for her? Yeah, she’s part of the family now as his girlfriend. Does QT not get what’s at stake here? They have their first shot at the tag team titles! Against two of the greatest in the world! And in a second, Hangman could take QT’s head off with that Buckshot! Dustin needs QT’s head in the game. Dustin needs his partner. This could be them at Fyter Fest against the Best Friends! It’ll be great, but only if QT is focused. Whatever this is with Allie, get it out of your system, because she won’t be ringside for that match. The lines have been drawn, will QT choose the gold or his girl?
Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander VS Nyla Rose & Penelope Ford w/ Kip Sabian!
The Stardom Samurai once again teams with the Galaxy’s Greatest Alien to take on the Native Beast and the Superbad Girl! But in a match with three of her top five contenders, can Shida hope to make it out of this match in one piece?
The teams don’t even have time to sort out before Penelope and Nyla borrow Jimmy Havoc’s favorite strategy of a blindside attack! The bell rings as the brawl rages and Nyla bumps Kris off buckles. Penelope stomps Shida down and grinds her boot in. Nyla does the same to Kris but Shida gets out of the ring. Penelope and Nyla bring Kris up and double whip, but Kris ducks and kicks back! Kris throws Nyla into Penelope a la a SPEAR! Kris clubs Nyla and basement dropkicks! Cover, TWO! Kris keeps on Nyla and bumps her off buckles. Tag to Shida and Shida runs to hit a forearm smash! Tag back to Kris and Kris runs to add an uppercut! Tag back to Shida, she swipes at Ford then comes back to KNEE Nyla!
Shida snapmares Nyla then tags Kris. Kris climbs and leaps at Nyla, but Nyla gets under and Kris belly flops! Nyla sucker punches Shida then comes back to CLOBBER Kris! Ford cheers as Nyla covers, TWO! Nyla drags Kris up by her hair to drive in an elbow! She scrapes her boot off Kris’ face, scoops her and slams her down! Then drops a leg! Nyla has control as usual as AEW goes to break.
AEW returns and Nyla pulls back on Kris’ arms. Kris fights her way up, fights free and throws hands. Nyla catches one punch, then the other, then ducks Kris’ roundhouse to pump handle flip her! Kris lands on her feet to PELE! And DISCUS CLOTHESLINE! Both women are down but the crowd is rallying. The standing count climbs as Kris and Nyla crawl. Hot tags to Penelope and Shida! Shida swings but misses and Penelope kicks to whip. Shida puts Penelope up on the top rope for a Top Shelf Knee! Shida pushes Penelope to the apron to then spin her around. The apron knee hits! “Holy Shida!” climbs up and missile dropkicks Ford won! She drags Ford back up, to suplex for a BRAIN BUSTER! Cover, TWO!!

Kris tags Shida in and Shida drags Nyla up for clubbing forearms. She hammers away on Nyla and tries to suplex, but Nyla resists. Nyla suplexes back, hangs Shida up on the ropes, but Kris runs in. Nyla kicks Kris and sets her beside Shida! Nyla goes to the corner, springboards for a DOUBLE GUILLOTINE KNEE!! Nyla scrapes Kris out and tags in Penelope. Nyla brings Shida up to lift, Penelope springboards but Kris yanks her down! Shida huricanranas Nyla, runs, and KNEES Her against the ropes! Nyla falls out of the ring and Ford is fed to her for the FALCON ARROW! Cover, TWO!?! Shida doesn’t lose her focus, she runs but Sabian swipes at her! The ref reprimands but Kris DIVES onto him! But Penelope has the title belt and SMASHES Shida with it!! Then she hits the PERFECT PLEX! Bridging cover, Penelope and Nyla win!!
Winners: Penelope Ford & Nyla Rose, by pinfall
The Native Beast is on the winning team, but it’s the Superbad Girl who pinned the champion! Will Penelope move up from fifth to first on Shida’s list of contenders?
AEW hears from Darby Allin.
“I’m still not medically cleared to wrestle, but I don’t give a sh*t.” Tony Hawk tells him that he doesn’t need a doctor’s note to skate. As far as the skating legend is concerned, Darby is cleared and can go have fun. Darby checks his trucks, sets up a little ladder, and starts experimenting with an extremely elevated takeoff. That’s dicey on top of difficult, as Darby falls again and again. But he shrugs it off each time to try again. And again. And again. But finally, he gets it right! Hawk approves, but will Darby be able to get back in the ring that easily?
AEW hears from Britt Baker.
“What makes me a role model? Just my existence in AEW! Coming out to the ring as Dr. Britt Baker, DMD. I am truly inspiring everybody.” But she has put the AEW Women’s Division on notice about this apparent conspiracy to take her out of action. Big Swole has exhausted Britt with her bad attitude and playing the “struggle” card. Swole had just about enough of Britt, too. Britt claims she’s had the most struggles in AEW. She has faced the unexpected her whole life. There was an unexpected microbiology exam she didn’t study for, but she aced it. She has a very prominent image to uphold on top of her physical rehab. She can’t even move her wheelchair with just that little weight attached… Luckily she has Rebel to “spot her.” The fans need a role model, and Britt is happy to fill that role, but the fans need to respect that. Will Britt get the respect she (thinks she) deserves?
The Inner Circle VS Best Friends & Orange Cassidy!
Santana, Ortiz & Jake Hager return to being a trio as they look to put the hurt on Trent, Chuck Taylor and The Sloth for the disrespect Cassidy inadvertently showed them. Will the Inner Circle continue their rebound from Double Or Nothing? Or will Best Friends continue to roll on towards Fyter Fest and the AEW World Tag Team Championships?
Hager, Santana and Ortiz attack Trent, Chuck and Cassidy before the bell! Jericho says, “See what happens?! You want to act nonchalant? Just wait until The Inner Circle kicks your ass!” Hager throws Cassidy out while Ortiz throws Chuckie T. Santana is after Trent in the ring while Hager goes after Cassidy on the stage! Hager throws Cassidy hard then rains down rights. Santana CHOPS Trent while Ortiz whips Chuckie T into barriers! Jericho talks trash all the while as his guys regroup at the corner. Santana throws hands on Trent then throws forearms. The crowd boos but that only motivates Santana to hit Trent harder. Santana CHOPS Trent then CHOPS again! Cassidy and Chuckie regroup at their corner while Santana whips corner to corner. Santana leaps but misses, and Trent gives back those CHOPS!

Hager bumps Chuckie off buckles then tags in. Ortiz brings Chuckie up for a POWERBOMB, then sits him up for Santana’s KICK! Hager runs corner to corner for the HAGER BOMB! Cover, TWO! Chuckie survives but Hager pushes him down. Hager chokes Chuckie but the ref reprimands the Inner Circle. Santana gets a choke in as AEW goes picture in picture.
The Inner Circle gets away with cheating, but Hager brings Chuckie up for body shots. He throws haymakers then stomps Chuckie down. The ref reprimands Hager as he grinds his boot in, but he backs off to sucker punch Trent! Tag to Santana and he stomps a mudhole into Chuckie. Tag to Ortiz and Ortiz brings Chuckie up for haymakers. Santana CHOPS, but Chuckie elbows Hager! Ortiz whips Santana in but Chuckie sends Santana out! Chuckie throws hands, goes up and over Ortiz, hot tag to Trent! Hager tags in but Trent dodges him to hit Ortiz and Santana! Trent throws hands on Hager and even CHOPS! He backs Hager down, whips him corner to corner, but Hager reverses hard! Trent tumbles up the corner, flops back down, and into Hager’s scoop! Hotshot combo with Santana! The crowd boos and the ref reprimands but there’s nothing they can do. Cover, TWO!
Hager keeps his cool as he tags Ortiz in. Ortiz drags Trent up and snap suplexes him down! Cover, TWO! Ortiz looms over Trent while staying between him and his corner. Ortiz swivels the hips and brings Trent up to bump him off Santana’s boot. Tag back to Hager and Ortiz sucker punches Trent! When Cassidy doesn’t flinch, Ortiz takes the sunglasses away and tosses them! Hager throws hands on Trent and Ortiz adds CHOPS! Ortiz and Hager double whip as AEW returns to single picture, and Trent kicks back! Trent baits Hager to dump him out, then dodges Ortiz in the corner to hit a TORNADO DDT! Both men are down and crawling, and Cassidy is ready. Hot tag to Freshly Squeeze!
Hager and Cassidy stare down, and the Shin Kicks fire off! Cassidy puts his hands up, but Hager picks Cassidy up to toss him to the corner! Hager runs in and TOSSES Cassidy, only for Cassidy to roll through to his feet! Cassidy baits Hager in and sends him out of the ring! Cassidy puts his hands in his pockets but PNP go after him! Cassidy dodges them to double huricanrana! And then Cassidy DIVES to take out Hager! Cassidy is TRYING! Cassidy leaps over Santana to crossbody Ortiz! And then he tilt-o-whirl DDT’s Santana! But he catches the Psycho Knee to clothesline Trent out!
Santana whips Chuckie into the stage! Hager drags Cassidy up and tags in Ortiz. Ortiz sets up for Santana to CANNONBALL onto Cassidy! Jericho is all fired up and Ortiz lifts Cassidy in the powerbomb. Santana climbs, but Cassidy fights! Chuckie shoves Chuckie down onto Hager! Cassidy wrenches, traps and cradles Ortiz, BEST FRIENDS WIN!!
Winners: Best Friends & Orange Cassidy, by pinfall
Jericho is furious and he storms off commentary to help The Inner Circle beat down Cassidy, Chuckie and Trent! Floyd the bat comes with him! Baseball bat to Chuckie’s ribs! To Trent’s ribs! And to Cassidy’s HEAD! Jericho just hit a triple, but then PNP hits the powerbomb to Penalty Kick! The referee is intimidated into backing off, and Santana borrows Floyd. Ortiz shouts, “THE BEST! THE BEST!” and Jericho brings out bags and bags of actual oranges. Orange Cassidy comes face to face with his namesake, and they load the oranges into one bag. Jericho tells Cassidy, “You see what happens when you mess with the Inner Circle?” Cassidy is bleeding from the bat shot, but he gets the SUPER ORANGE MAD BALL!! And then again to the back! And to the side!
The blood oranges are beating the pulp out of Cassidy! “Blood Orange Cassidy has just been juiced.” Jericho takes a bite out of an orange while the others squeeze orange juice onto Cassidy. Is this the end of Freshly Squeezed? And what of Best Friends making it to Fyter Fest for their tag title opportunity?
AEW returns to Schiavone interviewing The Gunn Club.
But before he can ask Billy and his son Austin anything, MJF interrupts. He’s sure “Bill” would’ve had something interesting to say, but he wants Schiavone to be a good human mic stand for him. MJF says he has been undefeated for over a year, is the bearer of the beautiful Dynamite Diamond Ring, and is THE #1 Contender for three consecutive weeks. Yet, “Jungle Jack Jabroni” got a title shot before him? Do these people think that make sense? Yes! Well you’re wrong, because it doesn’t! The favoritism in AEW is egregious! There is a reason why MJF is met with nothing but dirty looks. It’s all because the boys know that no matter how good they get in the ring, no matter how much they improve on the mic, or no matter how over they get over with the internet marks, they hit a ceiling. And you are looking at that ceiling! MJF is a Great White Shark in a sea full of minnows!
Well, Billy “hates to interrupt” the minnow, you’re looking at the Great White. Hurr hurr so funny, Billy. But what’s really funny is Billy not trying to get “another one of your scumbag, talent-less sons a job here in this company!” Austin takes offense, MJF shoves him but Billy gets in the way. Billy grabs MJF but MJF calls for his muscle, Wardlow. Billy tells MJF made a mistake tonight but things keep from exploding into brawling. Will this tension between MJF and the Gunns be settled in the ring?
Sammy Guevara VS Colt Cabana!
Le Champion picked a fight with Boom Boom, Colt Cabana and won. Cabana felt down, and the Dark Order offered him a place in their ranks. If Cabana doesn’t defeat the Spanish God, will he #JoinDarkOrder?
The bell rings and Sammy circles with Cabana. Sammy flips Cabana off right to his face. Right in his face, actually. So Cabana gives it back! Sammy doubles down but Cabana headlocks. Sammy powers out, things speed up, Sammy flips but Cabana stops himself to give back the double dirty birds. Sammy swings on Cabana but Cabana dodges to CHOP! Cabana mocks the stinging pain then whips Sammy. Sammy reverses, Cabana goes up and under and then CHOPS again! Cabana runs, ducks and tilt-o-whirls to headscissors! Sammy gets up but runs into an arm-drag! Cabana has Sammy down with an armlock and the crowd fires up. Sammy gets up, Cabana wrenches and wrenches to wristlock. Cabana twists Sammy’s hand all over, and makes him flip himself off!
Sammy gets the ropebreak and Cabana lets go quick, only for Sammy to throw him out! Then Sammy runs and FLIES out to take Cabana down! Sammy almost wrecks himself into the barriers, but he flexes and says he’s the Best Ever. Sammy goes into the ring to leave Cabana behind and AEW goes picture in picture.
Cabana gets up as the ring count climbs but Sammy blows kisses to the camera. Sammy drags Cabana in, covers, ONE! Sammy stays on Cabana at he ropes and stands on him to choke him! The ref counts, Sammy back-flips at 4 and shows off. Sammy kicks the rope to jam Cabana, then covers, TWO! Cabana gets to a corner but Sammy is on him with a CHOP! Sammy snapmares and runs, and runs, and runs, to strut into a chinlock. But Cabana turns that to a victory roll! TWO, and Sammy boots, only to be caught. Cabana spins Sammy but Sammy heel kicks! Cabana wobbles and falls, Sammy covers, TWO! Sammy keeps his cool as he grabs Cabana for a chinlock. Sammy grinds Cabana down but Cabana endures. They go to the mat but Cabana fights his way back up. Cabana throws body shots and gets free, but runs into a waistlock to headlock takeover!
Sammy leans on Cabana with the chinlock but Cabana again endures. Cabana fights his way up again and pries at the hold. Cabana powers up as AEW returns to single picture and he knees Sammy low. Cabana runs, but into a fireman’s carry! Sammy does squats to show off, but Cabana crucifix rolls and BIONIC ELBOWS Sammy down! Sammy flounders to a corner and Cabana runs in. Cabana blocks the first boot but not the second! Sammy hops up but Cabana sees it coming and scoots away. Sammy hops down and runs in, but Cabana BOOTS him in the stomach! Cabana ducks, jabs, jabs, and jabs, to flip, flop ‘n’ fly, BIONIC ELBOW! The crowd rallies up as Sammy returns to a corner. Cabana runs in, FLYING APPLE! Sammy is down, Cabana goes up and double guns, to leap! Sammy moves but Cabana short hops for the splash! Cover, TWO!
Cabana keeps his cool as he circles Sammy like a shark. Cabana drags Sammy up but Sammy ROCKS him with a right! Sammy whips Cabana to a corner, shoulder rams to the apron and enziguris, then springboards, but into Cabana’s hands for a TOSS! Cabana goes up, MOONSAULTS and hits! Cover, TWO!! Cabana is still smiling as Sammy crawls to a corner. Cabana drags Sammy up as the crowd rallies. He hoists Sammy onto the rope and then climbs up to join him. Cabana fireman’s carries but Sammy slips out and torture racks Cabana! G T H!! Cover, Sammy wins!
Winner: Sammy Guevara, by pinfall
The Spanish God gets Cabana as Cabana tried to go above and beyond. And here comes The Dark Order! Evil Uno and Stu Grayson have finally returned, but they are also accompanied by The Beaver Boys, Alan Angels and Preston Vance. Numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 stand before their Exalted One, Brodie Lee. Mr. Brodie walks right up to Cabana and offers him a hand. Cabana takes it and Brodie helps him stand up. But no mask has been offered. The Dark Order leaves, and though Cabana hesitates, he does follow them. Is Cabana going to #JoinDarkOrder?
Sammy talks trash as the “big fat loser” leaves, because this is Sammy’s moment! The best damn wrestler AEW has is still going strong, but then Matt Hardy interrupts! What is “this moron’s” problem? Hardy says he has no issues. Then why is he here? Hardy wants to tell Sammy he respects him. When he looks at Sammy, he sees a younger Matt Hardy. He sees someone who has a never-say-die mentality and a death defying mindset. Regardless of how hard Sammy gets hit, he always gets back up. The reality is, Sammy IS the future of AEW. So here is some advice: to realize his maximum potential, Sammy has to leave Chris Jericho. Trust Hardy when he says that. Sammy doesn’t trust Hardy, because Hardy tried to kill him with a golf cart not just once, but twice! That’s a fact! Yes, a Matt-er of Fact!
V1 emerges and shares a fun fact: Matt is a great driver, and enjoys watching Sammy sprint away from golf carts. If Sammy had Hardy’s Matt-tributes- SHUT UP, MORON! Hardy coming out here is so stupid! Sammy doesn’t know if he’s dumb, stupid, BROKEN, whatever! Hardy changes and DAMASCUS shows himself! Samuel Guevara, Damascus joins him in the ring, for these events must be documented! Hardy will MASH Sammy into a Mafongo, and EAT YOU! EAT! EAT! DELETE! DELETE! Sammy has angered the spirit that dwells within this vessel known as Matt Hardy! Will the Spanish God learn to listen to the BROKEN BRILLIANCE?
AEW hears from Joey Janela.
“My name is Joey Janela, and I came to All Elite Wrestling to become a star.” But what happened? The Bad Boy went from wrestling Jon Moxley in an Unsanctioned main event, to fading into the background. Janela says he feels like his best moments are behind him. The crazy days of jumping off a roof to smash through a rack of fluorescent light tubes are definitely a distant memory. “Somewhere along the last six months or so, I lost my direction.” But Sonny Kiss is there to pick him up as if by fate. How will the story of the Bad Boy and the Concrete Rose play out on Dynamite?
Backstage interview with Colt Cabana.
Dasha tries to get him to talk about losing to Jericho and Sammy in subsequent weeks, and The Dark Order reaching out to him all the while, but he shrugs her off. He knocks on the door of The Dark Order, and they let him in. Will Cabana fall in line behind Mr. Brodie Lee?!
AEW sets up big for next week!
After that heated confrontation, Billy Gunn and MJF will have it out in the ring! Will the Ass Man kick Maxwell Jacob Friedman’s ass for everything his mouth has been saying? And of course, there’s the AEW World Tag Team Championship match! Can QT focus on his match and not his new (and meddling) girlfriend? Then, another AEW TNT Championship match will happen! Will Cody Rhodes make it through tonight to take on another hungry challenger? And after the beating the Inner Circle gave Orange Cassidy, the Best Friends look to avenge him against #LeSexGods, Jericho and Sammy! However, the title match at Fyter Fest is on the line! Trent and Chuckie are risking it all for friendship, but will it be worth it?
But that’s not all, as there will be even more tag team action! The Young Bucks take on the Superbad Squad for their part in tonight’s brawling! Will Matt & Nick Jackson show FTR that they really are the best tag team of the last 15 years?
Jon Moxley finally arrives!
The AEW World Champion is here, but he says he’s going to be honest with us. He is in a really bad mood, and not just because his neck hurts, his back hurts and because it hurts to sit on the toilet. That has him on edge, but he has no patience for people who run their mouth when they have no idea what they’re saying. Taz has been telling anyone that will listen that Brian Cage is going to beat Moxley at Fyter Fest? Well if Taz was trying to get under Mox’s skin, IT WORKED! Moxley cannot wait for Fyter Fest, so he can pop Cage’s head like a giant pimple and shut Taz up for good!
“Do you know what separates me from the pack in AEW? I am one miserable son of a b*tch!” The fact that Brian Cage thinks he can beat Mox pisses Mox off! The fact Taz thinks Cage can beat Mox pisses Mox off! The mere idea that anyone in AEW or pro-wrestling anywhere in the world thinks they can beat Mox pisses Mox off!! But it’s what drives Moxley to train harder, hit harder, be more violent and less apologetic. With all due respect to Taz as one of the greatest trash talkers of all time- Speaking of, Taz is here himself! Taz gets in Moxley’s face because he is hearing everything Moxley is saying about him. It’s all chirping! Enough of this! Get your head right because it’s all ending at Fyter Fest. And Cage comes running up behind Moxley to blindside him!!
Cage rains down rights on Moxley then drags him up to club him more! He throws Moxley into trash cans! And then drags him up, but Moxley pushes him into a corner! Moxley throws forearms, then swings a pipe! The car window is smashed but Cage comes back with fists! Cage bumps Moxley off the bumper, then hoists him up to ram him into a fence. SPINE BUSTER onto the car hood! Moxley writhes but Cage drags him up and brings him around. Taz says this is enough, because the message is sent. Cage doesn’t care, and he scoops Moxley to SLAM him on the car’s rear windshield!! Moxley writhes as Taz gets Cage out of there. Will this keep Fyter Fest from happening? Or will it only motivate Moxley to rage against The Machine even more?
AEW hears from Cody Rhodes.
“The reason for me to want to do an Open Challenge is I think an area where people have been critical of my skill set.” The American Nightmare taking a schedule like this, defending the title every week, only to bust himself open week one and then a furious offense from a younger talent, that moment had him thinking, “How did I get here? How will I stay here?” Cody pulled off the win despite all that, because that is how much this title means to him. Cody knows Marq Quen is a ferocious competitor in his own right, and the Open Challenge being what it is, you never know who you’ll get. A normally tag team competitor like Quen still has a chip on his shoulder and high level motivation. The TNT Championship has to be “varsity,” it has to be premier, top shelf, otherwise it doesn’t mean s*it. We’ll see Cody put it all on the line yet again in another main event!
AEW TNT Championship: Cody Rhodes w/ Arn Anderson VS Marq Quen w/ Isiah Kassidy & Matt Hardy!
The Hardy Party might be happening as Matt accompanies Quen and Kassidy out. Quen has the confidence of his best friend and his new mentor behind him, but will he have enough skill to end the American Nightmare’s reign?
AEW returns as Cody and Coach Arn make their way out. The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and the newest test of Cody’s legacy begins!
Cody shakes hands with Quen to show there is respect. They circle, tie up with knuckle locks, and go shoulder to shoulder in a test of strength. Cody gets a leg but Quen clubs him off it. Cody respects that and throws a forearm! Quen throws it back and they brawl back and forth. Cody wobbles but he drop toeholds Quen down to an armlock. Quen fights his way up but Cody yanks on the arm. Cody wrenches, Quen headlocks back, but Cody powers out. Quen runs Cody over and lets out a “WOO~” Quen runs, Cody stays low, but Quen turns him over to standing moonsault! Cover, ONE! Quen stays on Cody with a scoop but Cody slips out to kick low. Rhodes Uppercut and Cody runs, to springboard into a dropkick! Cover, ONE but Quen keeps his cool.
Quen runs but Cody anchors a foot. Cody trips the other leg, slams the leg on the mat, then BUZZSAWS Quen down! Cover, ONE, but Cody does some push ups to show off. Cody drags Quen around to stand on the bad leg. Cody hooks the legs up and grabs at the arms. Quen resists but Cody brings him up for the surfboard, and adds a dragon sleeper! Quen endures but Cody shifts to the arm stretch. Quen fights and gets as AEW goes to picture in picture.
Cody still has wrist control on one arm and he drags Quen up. Quen throws hands but Cody whips him out of the ring. Cody then goes out to bring Quen up and bumps him off the apron. But Quen bumps Cody back! Quen gets in the ring, Cody follows, and Cody stomps the bad leg! Cody drags Quen by that leg to the ropes, to springboard stomp it! Quen clutches his ankle but Cody keeps stomping! The ref reprimands Cody and he backs off, but then stalks Quen back to ropes. Cody goes out to bring the leg around and SLAM it on the apron! Quen writhes in pain but Cody gets back in the ring to stay close. Cody double guns before he brings Quen up on the apron and TOSSES him back in!
Cody whips Quen to a corner, runs in, but into an elbow! Quen boots back, goes out to the apron and springboards, but his leg gives out! Cody covers, TWO! Cody keeps on the bad leg with a toehold, and then stomps away on Quen’s back. Quen kicks back from the mat but Cody catches the foot to bring it to the post! Cody pulls Quen into the post then throws some haymakers. The ref reprimands and Cody backs off, but then he hammers the knee! AEW returns to single picture as Cody slams the leg into the post! Quen writhes and crawls away but Cody stalks behind him. Quen PELES Cody away! The crowd rallies as Quen fires off fast hands in the corner! The ref backs Quen off, Quen argues, but Cody kicks the bad leg out!
Cody drags Quen up and hits a SHIN BREAKER! And then Cody hoists Quen up top and climbs up behind him. Quen fights back with elbows, then cravats for a SUPER SLICED BREAD! Both men are down but the crowd rallies with “SHOTS! SHOTS!” Quen and Cody slowly rise, Quen goes to a corner and QUEBRADAS! Direct hit but Quen keeps going. Quen whips, Cody slides under, kicks but no Rhodes Uppercut this time! Standing Shooting Star! Cover, TWO! Quen grows frustrated but he drags Cody up for a suplex. Cody blocks, suplexes back, but Quen lands on his feet, to then flip around and DDT!?! Cover, TWO!! Cody bails out of the ring but Quen builds speed to FLY! Direct hit topples Cody over! Quen gets back in the ring, runs again and FLIES again! Quen manages it, bad leg and all!
The crowd rallies as Quen gets back in the ring. Quen is just crazy enough to want a third, but he can’t with that bad leg. Cody returns but the bulldog is denied! Quen uses adrenaline for the FOSBURY FLOP!! Arn coaches Cody up but Quen puts Cody in. Quen covers, TWO! Cody is down but Quen heads up top. Arn coaches Cody but the crowd is on Quen’s side. Cody gets to the ramp but Quen just adjusts. Quen 450 SPLASHES TO THE RAMP!! Both men are down as the crowd loses their minds! Arn says this needs to get back in the ring, but Quen is the one who puts Cody in. The crowd duels and Quen takes his jacket off. Quen’s bad leg slows his climb, but he makes it up again. STANDING SHOOTING STAR, but he’s caught into the ANKLE LOCK!!
Quen scrambles, claws, bites his own hand to ignore the pain, but Cody drops down not to grapevine, but to have a modified Deathlock! Cody cranks on that leg as hard as he can with his own legs, and Quen taps! Cody wins!!
Winner: Cody Rhodes, by submission (still AEW TNT Champion)
Marq Quen may not have won the match or the title, but he just won a lot of points with Cody and the rest of the AEW roster! Will Quen come back for another shot when he’s truly 100%? Who is next for the American Nightmare’s gauntlet of his own making? Actually, Jake Hager walks out and stares Cody down from the stage. He steps into the ring and goes after Arn! Cody goes after Hager but Hager elbows and TOSSES Cody away! And then hits a BODY SLAM! Private Party returns with chairs to go after Hager! Chair shot after chair shot rocks Hager, then Hardy clotheslines him out! The Big Hurt is furious and the Inner Circle comes out to reinforce him. It’s a brawl, 4v4!
Cody, Hardy and Private Party hold their own but the chair shots turn around on them! Referees rush out to stop this, but that’s not so easy! Cody swings on whoever, Hardy is after Guevara, TWIST OF FATE! The Inner Circle retreats and regroups, but Cody takes a mic. Hager wants a TNT Championship match for Fyter Fest, doesn’t he? Then he’s getting it! The Big Hurt and the American Nightmare are ready, but will Cody make it through his next two contenders to give us all that fight?
A really good episode once again, a lot of strong action and story with only five matches. FTR VS Butcher & Blade was good, and of course FTR wins. I liked the Bucks coming out and the brawl that we got from it. The Bucks will certainly beat the Superbad Squad, but I’m hoping we get a slow build to them having a match with FTR. Those two teams should basically have a round robin against all the other teams in the division before finally getting to each other at All Out 2020. Next week is definitely all about tag teams between both AEW and WWE, as we’re getting the AEW World Tag Championships on the line. The Natural Nightmares taking on Omega and Hangman is definitely to propel the story building between Allie, QT and the others. I feel like it might be too soon for Allie to spring whatever trap she’s set, but you can almost bet she’ll be why the Natural Nightmares lose.
The Six Man Tag was great stuff, and while Best Friends win, the Inner Circle gets creative with the beat down they gave. Using oranges in a super sized mad ball was poetic in a way. But now that Le Sex Gods might be able to swoop in and take the title match from Best Friends, things are getting really crazy. I’m betting Mike Tyson returns to distract Jericho to set up their own match and give Best Friends a way to win without really hurting the Inner Circle’s power level. Guevara VS Cabana was pretty good, but it was clear Cabana would lose to push him towards the Dark Order. This story is definitely going places, and I can’t wait to see what number Cabana is given, and if this brings things back around to the Dark Order’s issues with SCU.
We got great women’s action in the tag match. Shida and Statlander sure team up the most often, but it made some sense for them to lose. Penelope gets the pin because she and the Superbad Squad have been doing great work. Shida VS Ford would make for a really good match for Fyter Fest, but I’d go with Shida winning since she really only just got the belt. MJF had a good segment with Billy Gunn, but I feel like Wardlow will/should go after Austin to distract Billy for MJF to get a win. Moxley and Cage brawling in the parking lot was great, and is certainly giving Cage what he needs to be a credible threat. I’m still not sure of his chances at Fyter Fest, but it wouldn’t be out of the question for him to pull it off. Marq Quen looked great even in losing tonight, and I’m thinking Fyter Fest also features a Six Man of Inner Circle VS Hardy Party.
Cody VS Hager is more than likely what we’re getting for Fyter Fest, so the purpose of Cody’s next two matches will be for the purpose of piling on the damage. The story of Cody VS Hager will surely be Cody overcoming being far below 100% to survive Hager. Cody’s booking has all been good on paper, but the pacing seems rushed. His all or nothing attitude on the world championship was basically a year before it was needed, that’s for sure. His promo putting getting busted open last week in perspective does help, but trying to make it feel as if this first month is going to be hell going into a fight with Hager is the rushed part. Cody could hold back half a step and it’d still work in his favor since Hager is this monster, and any damage taken is a huge disadvantage. The idea that this schedule is going to drive him into the ground is being kicked into overdrive, as if Cody is trying to run himself ragged on purpose. But in the end, good matches will be good matches, and Cody still gives us something good each week.
My Score: 9.2/10

The Open Challenge was answered in a big, BIG way! Max Caster & Anthony Bowens aren’t just facing one team, but TWO teams, both under the Andrade Family Office. Will Marq Quen, Isiah Kassidy and the menacing mercenaries make El Idolo proud? Or will it be a Mic Drop from the #ForeverChampions?
Justin Roberts makes the introductions before The Acclaimed make their entrance. “Yo! Listen! Listen! Yo! Yo! Everybody loves the new champions. Even Adam Lavine was in our DMs! Blade tags in, he drags Kassidy up but Kassidy fires off hands! Blade knees low, he whips Kassidy to the ropes but Quen is there for some SILLY STRING- NO, Blade SHOVES Kassidy down to the floor! And Butcher BLASTS Quen for good measure! But Bowens fires off on them both! Haymakers and CHOPS back and forth, but he runs into a DOUBLE HEADBUTT! Butcher DECKS Caster while fans boo and Billy protests. The mercs mug Bowens while AEW goes picture in picture.
Blade digs his boot in, tags Butcher, and Butcher digs a knee in. The ref counts, Butcher lets off, but he drags Bowens up to CHOP! Bowens staggers away but Butcher stays on him. Cover, TWO! Butcher knees Bowens in the back, tags Blade, but Bowens fights back again. Blade CLAWS Bowens’ eyes! The ref reprimands but Blade whips Bowens to ropes to LARIAT! Blade drags Bowens up, reels him in, and snap suplexes! Cover, TWO!
Blade is annoyed but he drags Bowens up again. Rampage returns to single picture as fans rally. Bowens endures a chinlock but he fights his way up. Kassidy runs in, but into a fireman’s carry, TOSS to a GUTBUSTER! And then a gut wrench POWERBOMB! Cover, Bowens breaks it! Butcher tosses Bowens out now and the mercs drag Kassidy up. Backstage interview with The Firm.
Lexi Nair is trying to get a word with Stokely Hathaway and the Gunn Sons, Austin & Colten. They are talking among themselves but she speaks up. Austin & Colten had some “harsh words” for FTR last week. Oh, you mean Mr. Mustache and Mullet Man? Well, since the Gunn Sons get TV time and they don’t, Colten & Austin will gladly things. Austin wants to know how FTR holds the “Ring of Horror” tag titles- No, the Ring of Honor tag titles. Oh, right. Well, they also have the “Triple A Batteries” titles. No, no, Triple A. And the IWGP R2D2 titles. It’s just IWGP. But speaking of those, FTR is currently in London to defend those.
“Well, regardless,” Colten says, “they don’t have what we want, and that’s the AEW titles.” Austin says that’s right. Also, FTR has been holding on to their #1 contenders status for like eight years now and have yet to make moves! So the Gunns will make the move everyone else in AEW does, and that’s leap frog FTR to go right for the champs! Top Gunns, out! Will Austin & Colten’s need for speed get them to the top? Or will they crash ‘n’ burn against The Acclaimed?
Backstage interview with Jade Cargill & The Baddies.
Lexi Nair says that was an incredible win last week at Rampage: Grand Slam, where even hip hop legend, Trina, anointed Jade as the NEW “Baddest B*tch.” Jade knows that, “Lindsey.” But that’s besides the point. “All you whack ass, fat ass-” Leila Grey says Jade should chill out, but Jade says she’s gonna say what she wants! She’s so bored because AEW hasn’t brought her any kind of competition. But then Nyla Rose, Marina Shafir & Vickie Guerrero walk in. Vickie reminds Jade that the last time she faced Nyla, Jade won but didn’t pin her. That doesn’t matter! Jade beat Nyla! And Marina, too! Vickie has the Problem Solver stand down and Nyla speaks up.
“What’s the matter, Jade? I’m not one of your precious little numbers? Scared of a little one-on-one?” Oh, one on one? Okay, Jade will give Nyla what she wants, but on Jade’s time. Now get outta her face! Vickie takes off her scarf and throws it at Leila, telling her to cover herself up. The Vicious Vixens head out, and the Baddies wonder what’s wrong with how Leila’s dressed. Will the Native Beast be the one that finally ends the undefeated streak?
Lee Moriarty w/ The Firm VS Fuego Del Sol!
Someone else with title aspirations is #TAIGASTYLE, who ditched Matt Sydal to join Maxwell Jacob Friedman’s faction on retainer. Moriarty wants the ROH Pure Championship around Daniel Garcia’s waist, but will he stomp out the Fire of the Sun first?
The bell rings and fans rally up. The two tie up, Moriarty headlocks and grinds then shifts to a cravat. Fuego endures but Moriarty pushes him down. Fuego keeps himself up, but Moriarty sweeps the arms to then roll Fuego into a snapmare cradle, TWO! Fuego gets up into a CHOP, headbutt and EuroUpper! Moriarty grins, he wrenches Fuego and whips, but Fuego reverses to mule kick! Fuego runs, handsprings over Moriarty’s dropdown, but Moriarty DROPKICKS Fuego down! Moriarty grins again while fans boo. Moriarty stomps Fuego at the ropes again and again until the ref counts. Moriarty lets off, to then stomp away again!
The ref counts, Moriarty lets off and Fuego goes to a corner. Moriarty runs in in to SHINING WIZARD! Moriarty reels Fuego into an arm-trap SAIDO SUPLEX! Moriarty mockingly applauds at the fans, then he looms over Fuego. Fans rally, Moriarty wrenches and hooks Fuego up, for a FACEBUSTER! Stokely likes what he sees as Moriarty clamps on the BORDER CITY STRETCH! Fuego taps, Moriarty wins!
Winner: Lee Moriarty, by submission
The fans boo as Moriarty holds on past the bell, and Moriarty lets go when Fuego stops tapping! Moriarty says this is HIS time, but Fuego’s not done suffering! Morrissey clamps on a claw and deadlifts Fuego by his head! And then holds him up with one arm! For a SKYSCRAPER CHOKE SLAM!!! Fuego just fell from the sky, will The Firm dominate AEW sooner rather than later?
Backstage interview with Hangman Page & The Dark Order.
Lexi Nair stands with The Cowboy, as well as Evil Uno & Preston Vance. She notes that last week on Rampage, Hangman won the Grand Slam Golden Ticket Battle Royal and is now headed to Cincinnati and an AEW World Championship match with Jon Moxley. Hangman says his match with Mox is just a few weeks away, and this is one Hangman has been looking forward to for a very long time. Uno says that everyone will be in Hangman’s corner for this. But wait, here come Andrade and Jose. Jose points out that if you look back, look what happened when Vance got eliminated. Jose uses his tablet to play the footage on the TV.
Jay Lethal triangle jumps, aiming for Hangman, but Hangman ducks and Vance takes the hit. Jose says it’s Hangman who eliminated Vance! Uno says that’s ridiculous logic. Andrade says he just wants to help Vance. This week is a big opportunity for Vance. What does Vance say to a 1v1? If Andrade wins, Vance gives up his mask. Deal? Vance shakes hands, but then he then pulls Andrade in. Vance has his own condition: If Vance beats Andrade, Andrade leaves AEW for good! High stakes between Number Ten and El Idolo, who wins for the Dynamite Anniversary?
But wait, the Firm walks in now? Stokely says they haven’t been snitching cuz they don’t like snitches, but… Jose says if Stokely wants to speak with El Idolo, he has to go through Jose. Oh, so Jose’s the boss? Ethan Page thought the boss was Andrade. And if he is, then maybe pay a little more attention to them. Be more firm with Private Party. Because Ethan knows there’s some “contract tampering” with their new-old friend, Matt Hardy. Stokely says that’s a bit messy. Andrade asks Jose what that’s about, and Jose does admit Hardy’s sniffing around. Will El Idolo crash the #HardyParty before it begins?
Jamie Hayter w/ Britt Baker & Rebel VS Willow Nightingale!
These two got into it during the Lumberjack match on Dynamite, and now they’ll settle things here on Rampage! Is Hayter gonna hate on the ever energetic Willow? Or will Willow show everyone how to deal with a Hayter?
The bell rings and Hayter rushes Willow, but Willow dodges and hits a THESZ PRESS! Fast hands, but Hayter returns those! Willow gets back on top to rain down HEADBUTT after HEADBUTT! Fans fire up with Willow, and she waistlocks Hayter. Hayter switches, Willow switches, but Hayter stomps a foot. Hayter elbows Willow, runs and RAMS shoulders, but Willow stays up! Willow shakes her head and Hayter is annoyed. Hayter runs, she RAMS Willow again, but Willow stays up to flex! Fans rally for both Hayter and Willow, Hayter runs again but Willow follows to run her over!
Fans fire up, Willow scoops and SLAMS Hayter, for a SENTON! Willow sits Hayter up to run and BASEMENT CROSSBODY! Cover, TWO! Fans rally up and Willow drags Hayter up. FISHERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO! Not quite perfect and Hayter survives. But Willow powers up, runs and CHOPS! Fans “WOO~!” while Hayter goes to another corner. Willow runs in to CHOP again! Britt protests, the ref does count, and Willow whips. Hayter reverses, only for Willow to handspring through! But Hayter BOOTS Willow down! Rebel & Britt are happy now and Hayter HIP TOSSES Willow to a corner. Willow sits up, for the METEORA!
Hayter lets the ref check Willow while fans rally and duel. Rampage goes picture in picture as Britt talks trash on Willow. Willow swipes at her but Hayter drags Willow away. Hayter snap suplexes, covers, ONE! Hayter clamps on a chinlock and she leans on Willow. Willow endures, but Hayter thrashes her around! Hayter wrangles Willow but Willow fights up. Willow throws body shots, but Hayter throws her down by her hair! The ref reprimands but Hayter soaks up the heat. Hayter stomps Willow around, then drags her up to CLUB back down. Willow goes to ropes and Hayter storms over, but into a back elbow.
Hayter CLUBS Willow again and Willow goes to the corner. Hayter mocks the fans rallying up, then she brings Willow around to bump off buckles. And again! Britt likes what she sees but the ref reprimands. Hayter “apologizes” but it’s just a distraction so Britt can pull Willow’s foot against the crossbar! Willow gets free but Hayter storms up again. Hayter pulls Willow’s hair to grind her head into the ropes! The ref reprimands, Hayter lets off and she whips Willow corner to corner hard! Willow bounces off buckles and hits the mat, but Hayter digs her knee into Willow’s face. The ref reprimands, Willow pushes Hayter but Hayter CLUBS her down.
Hayter stands on Willow’s back to use her like a skateboard! Willow shakes Hayter off but then Hayter straddles Willow to CLUB away on her! Hayter drags Willow up to UPPERCUT against ropes. And CHOP! Hayter has control as Rampage goes to break.

Hayter then hits an IRISH CURSE BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO!! Willow survives and fans fire up! Rebel and Britt are worried, but Hayter drags Willow up. Hayter CLUBS and ROCKS Willow, then gut wrenches. Willow slips off, shoves and POUNCES!! Hayter ends up flopping out of the ring! Britt is there to check Hayter and then claims that is cheating! But fans fire up with Willow and she brings down the straps! Willow goes out after Hayter and puts her in the ring.
Britt & Rebel are creeping, but Willow’s glare scares them away! Willow gets in the ring but Hayter stomps away on her! Hayter tells the booing fans to shut it, and then she drags Willow up. Hayter EuroUppers, then whips Willow. Willow reverses, fireman’s carries, and hits a DEATH VALLEY DRIVER! Cover, TWO!! Hayter survives and Britt breathes easy. Willow stays positive and she goes up a corner. Fans fire up, but Hayter has the ref check her so that Britt can anchor Willow! Willow CLUBS Britt away but Hayter waistlocks! HIGH ANGLE GERMAN! Hayter holds on, ripcords, HATE MAKER!! Cover, Hayter wins!
Winner: Jamie Hayter, by pinfall
Hayter flexes but give a big assist to Britt Baker, DMD. With their friendship stronger than ever, will Hayter & Baker take over AEW?
Wardlow and Samoa Joe speak.
The AEW TNT Champion says, “Together, the power, and the mayhem, and the chaos is limitless.” The ROH World Television Champion says, “What stands before you is WARDJOE! It is a creed and it is a call, to all that battle, to all who seek to stand before all, that all will fall, and all who think they’re ready for what we will do… will be left wanting.” Will there be no stopping this Two TITAN Power Trip?
Ryan Nemeth is in the ring.
The Hollywood Hunk introduces himself, and he wants to set things straight. First off, Rocky Balboa is not real! Secondly, Ben Franklin was nothing but a two-pump chump who moved here to DIE. He will give Philly credit, they do have a long-standing wrestling tradition. What was it again? Extremely Crappy Wrestling? Is that what it was? Wait! Here comes HOOK! We were expecting to see the FTW Champion, and now he has even more of a reason to show up with someone talking crap on ECW. Hook gets in the ring to CLOBBER Nemeth! And then he drags Nemeth up to bump him off buckles, and then SAYANAGI with authority!
Hook then sits Nemeth up to give him CLUBBING crossface forearms! Nemeth is a ragdoll as it is but Hook puts on REDRUM!! Nemeth taps fast but passes out just as quickly! The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil just showed everyone you do NOT insult Extreme Championship Wrestling with him around. But wait, as Hook heads up the ramp, The Trustbusters walk out. Ari Daivari has Sonny Kiss and “Jeeves Kay” (AKA VSK) with him. And Jeeves, being the butler, has an invitation for Hook on a silver platter. Jeeves leaves it on the ground for Hook and the Trust Busters leave. Hook snatches up the letter and takes his leave, what is Daivari Dinero planning now?
AEW shares footage of Swerve’s visit to Rolling Loud NYC.
As Keith Lee let us know last Wednesday, Swerve had this prior engagement to attend, hence the champs defending against other teams. But despite the good time Swerve had with the hip hop and rap stars of today, he is still furious about that loss at Grand Slam. Will Swerve look to be the rock that smashes National Scissors Day this Wednesday?
AEW looks at Jon Moxley VS Hangman Page.
The Blue Eyed Battler says, “I remember this building. I remember Hangman Page.” That is to say, it was last year’s Dynamite Anniversary that these two did battle in the Casino Ladder Match. “They say he’s the future of AEW. Okay. I’m the present. I am the here and now.” The Cowboy says, “So I’ve won the Golden Ticket Battle Royal on Rampage and I am the #1 contender to the AEW World Championship.” Moxley says, “Cowboy Sh*t, right? Yeah, we’ll see.”
Hangman says, “The one thing that I need almost as much as the AEW World Championship, is the people. The people have always been behind me, they light a fire under me. They keep me going.” The cameraman hates to break this to Hangman, but their title match is in Cincy. “Aw, sh*t.” The Cowboy knows he’ll be walking in as the enemy, but will he find away around homefield advantage? Or will this title stay with the Blackpool Combat Club?
Mark Henry talks with tonight’s main eventers.
The World’s Strongest Man says to the Dark Order that LFI, La Faccion Ingobernables has been trying to poach Vance from them. How do they feel about that? And what is their course of action tonight? Silver says that honestly, LFI’s little man crush on Ten is starting to come off a little bit creepy. Alex Reynolds says that all this stuff, this poaching attempt, will not affect The Dark Order. They’re a real family, and they are one. And because of that, “Mr. Rush,” tonight the Meat Man beats you! Andrade says okay, “piqueno,” calm down. Tonight, LFI shows everyone who they are. They are winners! The Dark Order doesn’t deserve Ten!
Jose points out that Silver can’t ignore that Rush eliminated him from the Battle Royal. Rush tells the “little boy” that all this talk is too much. He’s not here to talk. Rush is here to fight! He’ll see you in the ring, perro! Andrade has Rush tranquilo and Mark Henry says it looks like there’s been enough talk. It’s time for the main event! Will Johnny Hungy prove LFI doesn’t win everything? Or will El Toro Blanco bulldoze through Silver to further damage the Dark Order?
BREAKING NEWS for Battle of the Belts 4!
After the controversial way The Bastard retained the title against Orange Cassidy, he must now defend the All-Atlantic Championship against Trent Beretta! And speaking of which, we hear from #JustTrent!
“Something my mom always told me growing up, ‘You never hit a man in the head with a hammer.’ Pac, you broke one of Sue’s rules. Orange, he’s not here. He’s hurt right now. And when you hurt one of our friends, we hurt you.” But legally, cuz they’re good boys. So in DC, Bastard, Trent’s gonna hurt you. “Hands in, boys.” Chuck Taylor, Danhausen and Rocky Romero put their hands in with Trent, this one’s for Orange!
Rush w/ Jose the Assistant VS John Silver w/ Alex Reynolds!
LFI wants to grow stronger by making the Dark Order weaker, and while Andrade takes on Vance in a Mask VS AEW Career match, this one is straight up about pride and machismo! Will Rush fire the first salvo in this faction warfare? Or will the Meat Man make ground beef outta El Toro Blanco?
The bell rings and fans rally up. Silver and Rush approach, and Philly cheers for “JOHNNY HUNGY!” Rush shoves Silver but Silver headlocks back. Rush throws hands, powers out, and runs Silver over. Rush stomps away, flexes to mock Silver, then runs. Silver stays low then hurdles to drop again. Rush leaps over, they both run, and Silver UPPERCUTS Rush out of the ring! Fans fire up as Silver flexes now. LFI regroups but Silver builds speed, only to roll and copy Tranquilo! LFI is furious now, and Andrade wants Rush to end Silver! Rush gets in, and he DECKS Silver with that right! Silver sits up in a daze, Rush stomps him back down.
Rush pretends to take something from Silver’s head, either a mask or his actual head, and he “punts” it into the crowd! The kick is good, and Rush goes back to Silver. Rush CHOPS Silver in a corner, CHOPS again, then whips corner to corner. Rush clotheslines then whips again to clothesline the other corner. Rush snapmares and basement dropkicks! Fans boo as Rush kips up to mock the #JoinDarkOrder hand. Silver goes to the apron and Reynolds checks on him, but Rush goes out to drag Silver of and whip him into railing! Rush then brings Silver around to throw hands, and he whips Silver into more railing!
Fans boo but Silver CHOPS and ROCKS Rush! Rush CHOPS back! Rush grabs camera cables but the ref reprimands. Rush snarls but he kicks Silver around. Rush puts Silver in the ring, tells everyone to tranquilo, but fans boo. Rush grits his teeth and gets in, he blocks a kick and he DECKS Silver again. Rush then stomps away on Silver in the corner! Rush runs corner to corner, only to stop short and BOOT Silver instead! Fans boo while Rush Tranquilos, and Rampage goes picture in picture.
Rush soaks up the heat, drags Silver up, but Silver throws hands. Rush HEADBUTTS Silver, then throws him out! It kinda catches Andrade by surprise, he was watching the crowd. Rush distracts the ref, and Andrade stomps Silver down! Andrade gets away and Rush soaks up more heat. Andrade mocks Silver, dares him to get up, and the ring count climbs. Silver drags himself up but Rush goes out after him, to SMACK him off the timekeeper’s table! And again! Then he CHOPS Silver onto the table! Silver gets up but Rush is after him again, to RAM him into the railing. Rush takes a water bottle to pour it out on his head, he’s getting hot in Philly.
Silver CHOPS back! And ROCKS Rush! Rush pulls Silver’s beard but Silver ROCKS him again. Rush grabs a trash bin and SMASHES Silver with it! Trash goes flying and Silver sputters. Rush stalks Silver back to the ring. The ref reprimands but Rush just shrugs it off. Silver CHOPS! Rush eggs Silver on so Silver CHOPS! Rush SLAPS Silver, then CHOPS him down! Silver sputters again but Rush kicks him around. Rush drags Silver onto the ropes to CHOKE him! The ref reprimands, Rush lets off at 4, and he argues with the ref. Rush drags Silver from ropes to say this is over. Rush goes up the corner, fans rally up, and Rush SUPER SENTONS but FLOPS!
Silver avoids disaster while Rush writhes! A standing count starts, Reynolds rallies the fans up for Silver, and Rampage returns to single picture as the Meat Man rises! Silver runs in to SPLASH Rush! Silver runs but Rush follows to SPLASH! Rush runs corner to corner but Silver follows to SPLASH again! Silver runs, but he suckers Rush in for a GERMAN SUPLEX! Rush gets up, swings, but into another GERMAN SUPLEX! Fans fire up with Silver as he has a wild look in his eye! Silver drags Rush up, whips him to ropes but Rush reverses, only to jump into a POWERBOMB! Cover, TWO!! Rush survives and Silver is seething!
The standing count is back while Rush is down but fans rally. Silver stands, snarls, and drags Rush up to suplex. Rush blocks, throws body shots and then pushes Silver. Silver KICKS! And KICKS! And runs, but Rush follows! CHOP! CHOP! SUPERKICK! Silver wobbles into a NORTHERN LIGHTS! Bridging cover, TWO!! Rush can’t believe Silver survives and Andrade looks worried. Andrade tells Rush to finish this but Rush gives toying kicks to Silver. Silver stands and Rush eggs him on. Silver throws a forearm but Rush gives it back! Silver throws another but Rush does, too. Fans rally for Silver as the CHOPS start going back and forth!
Silver CHOPS, Rush DECKS Silver!! Rush snarls as he looms over Silver, then he runs, into a swing! But Rush gets around to backslide. Sliver slips off to KICK, KICK, SUPERKICK and BRAINBUSTER!! Cover, TWO!! Rush survives and Jose gets on the apron! But Reynolds YANKS Jose down! Jose clutches his knee after it bangs off the edge, but now Andrade distracts Silver. The ref reprimands Andrade, Silver tells Andrade to get in the ring then. But Andrade backs down and Rush SUPERMAN FOREARMS Silver down! Silver is sitting in the corner, Rush goes corner to corner, BULL’S HORNS!! Cover, Rush wins!
Winner: Rush, by pinfall
LFI gets the better of the Dark Order here tonight, Jose should get some kind of hazard pay for his assist. But then Andrade and Rush start stomping away on Silver! Reynolds gets in but he gets mugged, too! LFI has 3v2 advantage but here come Uno & Vance! They DECK Jose, fire off on Andrade, but Rush goes after Vance! Uno goes after Rush, but now Butcher & Blade rush out! The AFO are here to help their boss! Now the numbers are back in LFI’s favor! But wait! Here comes Hangman! The Cowboy dodges Andrade, BOOTS Blade, dumps Butcher out, then stares Rush down. They fire off hands, a revisit from how the Golden Ticket Battle Royal finished!
Hangman gets the edge with all his haymakers, then he whips. Rush reverses, Hangman goes up and out and loads up, but Rush bails out! Jose hobbles, Hangman figures what the hell. BUCKSHOT for the assistant! Rush is furious, and it is clear he and Hangman have unfinished business. So THIS JUST IN! Tony Khan makes it official for the Dynamite Anniversary episode! Hangman Page VS Rush 1v1! Will the Cowboy wrangle El Toro Blanco before taking on the AEW World Champion?
A great episode for Rampage to follow up Dynamite and the Grand Slam, as well as to help set up things for the anniversary week. The tag title match was a great opening match, and it did a great job propelling multiple stories. For one, Acclaimed retain, which I figured anyway. They’re surely going to defend against Austin & Colten next, since the Gunns called them out while also calling FTR out. Acclaimed will win there, too, and who knows how it goes with FTR. I don’t wanna say Tony Khan booked himself into a corner, but he’s come close. FTR can’t really lose since they have THREE different tag titles, but The Acclaimed are so popular that it’d be a shame if they lost.
Good segment from The Baddies and the Vixens. Nice character work with Jade; she wants stronger competition yet is hesitant when such a competitor steps up. Nyla VS Jade will be a great match, and with both Marina and Vickie, they’ll be able to cancel out with Kiera and Leila, meaning Nyla will have a fair(er) shot than most. Moriarty gets a quick win off Fuego, but the big thing is Moriarty’s new Heel aggression and Morrissey also getting his in. Assuming Garcia leaves the Jericho Appreciation Society to go full Face, he and Moriarty are gonna have one hell of a feud and match. Also I like that The Firm has to be the one to tell Andrade about Hardy wanting Private Party back, it adds another dimension to that faction’s identity.
Really good promo from #WARDJOE, and I like the idea that they’re going to be some new kind of Two Man Power Trip. They might not go for the ROH tag titles since FTR are technically Wardlow’s pals, but that also adds to the complexities of the AEW tag title picture. Unless Wardlow & Joe each go for other singles titles instead. That could be a way around it, especially with Jericho wanting to bury former ROH World Champions. Jericho VS Joe would be some awesome stuff. Hook whooping Nemeth was also pretty awesome. But I bet with the Trustbusters’ invitation to Hook, the options are A) join the Trustbusters or B) put up the FTW title. And I think we know which one Hook will choose.
Great stuff from Hayter VS Willow, fans love them both and those two can go. Again, there was wasted potential in just doing away with Hayter VS Britt as a feud. But whatever, Britt helps Hayter win, Hayter can have momentum while Britt’s nose heals up, and then we wait and see if they ever/never circle back to a feud. I mean, it could work, with Britt getting jealous of Hayter being just as beloved by the fans and getting opportunities for titles. Glad to see the feud of Death Triangle VS Best Friends continues, as now Trent gets a shot at Pac for Battle of the Belts IV. Not sure Trent wins that one, but it’ll be an awesome match.
And I like what we’re getting out of the LFI VS Dark Order feud. Good promo segment to set up Andrade VS Vance, but I don’t see Andrade leaving AEW so he’ll be taking Vance’s mask. Rush VS Silver was a great main event, but of course Heels win with Heel tactics. Reynolds and Jose should’ve been more careful with that apron trip-up spot, though, that was not a clean drop. Of course we get a brawl, and of course Hangman helps the Dark Order. Hangman VS Rush 1v1 is going to be an awesome match for the anniversary show, and it’ll help Hangman get some momentum going into the title match in Cincy. Great promo from him and Moxley, too, and Hangman was perfectly in character realizing he’s going to be at a disadvantage.
My Score: 8.7/10

PLAY BY PLAY
The Jericho Appreciation Society heads to the ring!
Philly is fired up to sing Judas for Le Champion as he leads the way out for Tay Melo, Sammy Guevara, Anna Jay “A S,” “Daddy Magic” Matthew Menard, “Cool Hand” Angelo Parker, and a less than enthused Daniel Garcia. And no, it has nothing to do with them all wearing matching purple satin suits. The JAS goes to the ring where there is a purple carpet, purple balloons, golden number 8 balloons to acknowledge this is #OCHO for Jericho, and wow! Luigi Primo is there spinning pizza dough! Seems he catered this event for the JAS. Fans cheer but Parker gets the mic to say, “AEW Galaxy… APPRECIATE US!”
Parker says if there’s one thing we all know about Philly, it’s that Philly is the city of LOSERS! Fans boo that but Parker knows they’re not used to championship celebrations. But don’t worry, the JAS is here to give them that gift! Everyone, stand up and join in celebrating THE OCHOOOO~! Fans are a bit torn, but Menard says “What a celebration we have for you tonight! Daddy Magic put the call in to the pizza guy, Luigi Primo,” who is still spinning dough. Luigi, Daddy Magic loves a bit o’ the pizza. What kind of pizza did Luigi make for them tonight? He made the best pizza! From NEW YORK CITY!
That’s right! Philly thought they were getting a taste? “I DON’T THINK SO! No pizza for you! No pizza for you! No pizza for anybody!” Anna says NONE of the fans get pizza. Fans chant, “We Want Pizza!” Anna tells them to shut up! They don’t shut up. “I’LL CHOKE YOU OUT!” They don’t care! Anna says they do get the greatest ROH World Champion of all time, #THEOCHO, Chris Jericho~! Fans are again torn. Jericho takes the mic now and says, “You guys want pizza?” “YES!” “You can’t have any. What you can have is the most important ROH champion in history, THE OCHO, Chris Jericho!
“Everyone knows I’m the most honorable man in AEW, and now it’s official. I’m also the most viewed ROH champion. In just one week, more people have seen me win this belt than all other ROH champions put together, cuz no one knows about ROH! But you’re about to! Because I’m gonna change the way ROH is remembered. This is the era of the Ring of Jericho. And I’m gonna start tonight,” as the others dig into the pizza, “by having my first title defense against one of the greatest pro-wrestlers today, former ROH Champion, BANDIDO.” Fans cheer for that!
Jericho knows Bandido “never got the rematch for this championship that he deserves, I’m gonna give it to him tonight. Trust me, the man is gonna blow your mind. But trust me once again, he is a pro-wrestler, and like I always say, sports entertainers beat pro-wrestlers every single time.” Fans boo but the JAS applaud. And speaking of sports entertainer, it’s the ROH Pure Champion, Danny Garcia! Fans cheer for Garcia and Jericho knows they’ve had some miscommunications and some issues, but Jericho wants Garcia to know that Garcia is an amazing champion, an amazing sports entertainer, and he bought a gift just for Garcia.
Fans chant, “You’re a Wrestler!” but Garcia accepts the Gift of Jericho. It’s… a purple bucket hat! Jericho puts it on him! YES! That is the look of the Best Technical Sports Entertainer of All Time! Garcia doesn’t look happy, though. Garcia takes the hat off and fans cheer! Garcia throws it down and fans cheer more! And then Garcia DECKS Luigi! Fans boo that a bit but Garcia gets a mic. “This is enough. Chris, this is enough. This isn’t me. This is never what I envisioned myself doing when I wanted to get into this business. And I tolerated it for a little bit, but I think I’ve finally had enough.” Fans cheer that!
Garcia says he wants to tell Jericho something he’s been meaning to get off his chest for a long time now: “Chris… I think it’s time for me to-” Jericho cuts Garcia off by pushing the mic down. Jericho then tells Garcia to really think about what he’s about to say. “This is a crossroads for you. Make the right decision, you can be bigger than your wildest dreams in this business. Make the wrong decision, and I’m gonna have to take you out.” Jericho is going to ask Garcia just this once and Garcia needs to answer properly: “Are you a sports entertainer? Or are you a pro-wrestler?” Fans cheer for the one they wanna hear!
Garcia stares Jericho down and then brings the mic up. But then BRYAN DANIELSON makes his way out here! William Regal sees Bryan out to the stage, but the American Dragon is all alone as he approaches the ring. Bryan picks up the bucket hat to look at it. “Chris, it seems to me like you’re trying to tell Daniel Garcia what you think he should be. Garcia, listen. I have an infinite amount of respect for you. You’re a grown man. You can do whatever you want. If you wanna stay with the Jericho Appreciation Society, you can stay with them. If you wanna come to the Blackpool Combat Club,” which fans cheer loudly, “you can come with us.”
If Garcia wants to train with the JAS, or if he wants to train with the BCC. If Garcia wants to team with the JAS or if he wants to team with the BCC- Jericho tells Bryan to shut his mouth! Fans boo but Jericho says he is sick of Bryan trying to poach his guy! Garcia belongs to Jericho! Garcia does what Jericho tells him to do! Except Garcia gets in Jericho’s face! Garcia tells Jericho they’re getting one thing straight right now: Garcia does NOT belong to Jericho, and he does NOT have to do what he tells Garcia.
But let’s not get too serious now. This is supposed to be entertaining, right? So if Jericho wants sports entertainment, what if Garcia grabbed some of this pizza and he threw it on the ground. Would that be entertaining? “YES!” Garcia throws the pizza out of the ring! What if Garcia woke up Luigi Primo and started tossing dough with him? Would that be entertaining? “YES!” Justin Roberts, what if you and Garcia were a tag team? That’d be entertaining, right? Fans are more torn on that one. Garcia asks if the fans think it’d be entertaining if Garcia was in a tag team with Bryan Danielson. “YES!! YES!! YES!!”
Garcia asks Jericho if he wants to know what Garcia thinks would be really entertaining. If he and Bryan teamed up against Jericho’s little brother, Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho! Fans cheer for that one! Menard says he is sick of Garcia’s crap! For one year, when he had NOTHING and NOBODY, Menard & Parker had his back! And now Garcia wants to spit in their face and turn his back on them for “this piece of crap right here?” Menard oughta punch Bryan in the face and knock him out right now! Bryan says, “Right now? Wait, do you wanna punch me right now? Right here, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania?” Fans want it!
Well then, Bryan has good news! He was told that he can come out here and have a match with anyone who wants to fight him! And Menard said he wanted to fight, so why don’t we do the “Entertainer,” Daddy Magic VS “The Heart of Professional Wrestling,” Bryan Danielson! And right here, right now!! Menard is fired up, the rest of the JAS holds him back, but will the American Dragon be the one doing the slaying tonight?
Bryan Danielson VS Matthew Menard w/ Angelo Parker!
Menard shoves Bryan and the bell rings! Fans fire up as Menard talks trash on Bryan. Menard shoves Bryan again, and again, but then Bryan EuroUppers! And EuroUppers! And EuroUppers! Menard kicks low, bumps Bryan off buckles and RAMS his shoulder in! Menard RAMS again and again, then climbs up to rain down fists! The ref counts, Menard lets off at 4, and he RAMS into Bryan some more! Parker applauds but then Bryan turns things around. Bryan CHOPS Menard, KICKS him, then KICKS and KICKS! Fans rally, Bryan wrenches and goes after the arm but Menard powers out. Bryan runs Menard over, then arm-drags him around!
Bryan has the armlock and he bends the fingers! Bryan top wristlocks to then isolate the arm, to STOMP it! Menard clutches the elbow but stands up into more EuroUppers. Bryan has Menard in a corner but Menard kicks low. Menard bumps Bryan off buckles, fires off forearms, then CHOPS! Bryan snarls but Menard CHOPS again. And again! Bryan EuroUppers Menard back! And again! Bryan whips Menard corner to corner but Menard reverses. Bryan BOOTS Menard, goes up, but Menard SHOVES Bryan down! Bryan tumbles to the floor and fans boo. Menard goes out to fetch Bryan and whips him hard into railing!
AEW goes picture in picture as Menard storms up on Bryan. Menard whips Bryan into more railing, then he brings Bryan around to whip into more railing! Menard refreshes the ring count and Parker taunts Bryan. Bryan crawls while Menard soaks up the heat. Menard watches Bryan as he gets in the ring, and he stomps Bryan at the ropes. Menard digs his knee in, lets off as the ref counts, and Menard soaks up more heat while Parker talks trash. The ref tells Parker to back away and Menard drags Bryan up for a BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Another cover, ONE! Menard clamps on with a chinlock and he grinds Bryan down.
Bryan endures, fights up, and fans rally as Bryan throws body shots. Bryan is free, he EuroUppers Menard again then whips. Menard reverses and CLOBBERS Bryan with an elbow! Menard soaks up more heat while Bryan gets to ropes. Menard stomps Bryan, rains down punches, but lets off as the ref counts the ropebreak. Menard drags Bryan up, ROCKS him in a corner, then CHOPS him. Bryan goes to another corner but Menard keeps after him with another CHOP! Dynamite returns to single picture as Menard whips corner to corner. Bryan reverses but Menard comes back to LARIAT!
Both men are down but Menard drags Bryan up for a short arm LARIAT! And then another! Cover, TWO! Menard is frustrated and fans rally for Bryan. Bryan grits his teeth, Menard gives him kicks to the chest, and a CHOP! Bryan snarls and stands up. Menard CHOPS again, but Bryan just powers up! Menard CHOPS again but Bryan just eggs him on! Menard CHOPS, Bryan CHOPS! And CHOPS! And CHOPS! Bryan fires off CHOPS and KICKS in the corner! Bryan whips but Menard reverses, only for Bryan to go up and over! Bryan keeps moving, ducks ‘n’ dodges to LEAPING LARIAT! Fans fire up while Menard flounders to a corner!
Bryan runs in corner to corner to DROPKICK! Bryan keeps going, another DROPKICK! And Bryan still keeps going, and he hits a third DROPKICK! Fans fire up but Parker is worried as Bryan watches Menard sit up. Bryan KICKS! And KICKS! And KICKS! Fans chant “YES!” with every one, but Parker saves Menard from the Buzzsaw! Fans boo, the ref reprimands, but Bryan WRECKS Menard with a dropkick! Bryan takes aim, but Parker saves Menard from the flying knee! Menard RAMS Bryan into railing, and then he hoists Bryan up to POST him in the groin! The ref reprimands again, Menard distracts him so that Parker can DDT Bryan to the floor!
Fans boo but Parker puts Bryan in and Menard hoists him up, POWERBOMB! High stack, TWO!! Bryan survives the screw job, and here comes Claudio! Claudio chases Parker, Parker loses his jacket and a shoe as he flees! Parker flounders through the ring then back out, only for Claudio to CLOBBER him with a EuroUpper! Claudio then gut wrenches Parker to carry him away up the ramp! Fans fire up as things are truly 1v1 now! Menard realizes what happened to Parker, he turns around and swings but Bryan dodges! BUSAIKU KNEE! And then the omoplata, LEBELL LOCK! Menard taps, Bryan wins!
Winner: Bryan Danielson, by submission
Blackpool Combat Club watches out for each other, and Bryan gets a win! Will this help Bryan climb up towards a title match? Will the BCC soon have Daniel Garcia and the ROH Pure title on their side?
AEW takes a closer look at Moxley VS Juice.
Tony Schiavone notes that Jon Moxley, having won the Grand Slam Tournament of Champions, is now a THREE-TIME AEW World Champion, the most in history. And his interim championship reign made this year “The Summer of Moxley.” Can anyone dethrone him? Schiavone doesn’t think so. But the Bullet Club’s Booster asks, “What happened last time Jon Moxley was in the ring with Rock Hard Juice Robinson?” He of course means NJPW Capital Collision’s IWGP United States Championship Fatal 4 Way that Juice won to become the then champion. “I’ve hated this guy for ten YEARS!”
If Juice can beat Moxley in Philly, then he has a chance in Washington D.C. to face Moxley for the AEW World Championship. If Juice can do it once, can he do it again? Or will Moxley cross him off the list?
MJF is- Wait, Wheeler Yuta is here!
The Decoder storms out after watching the recap package of his encounter with MJF, and now he gets the mic! “M J F! MJF, we have a real serious problem, man. And it’s not what you think. It’s not that you’ve got this whole new army of lackeys, I could’ve seen that one coming from a few miles away. No, man, it’s not that you just tried to cheap shot me with the Dynamite Diamond Ring, because I’ve been hit a lot harder by a lot better men. Max, it’s the fact that you had the audacity to put your hands on Tony Schiavone, a man who has done more for AEW than you ever will! And Maxwell, Maxwell, I think actions should have consequences.
“And what better punishment than for you to walk down here and fight me in MY city!” Philly cheers, but Yuta then tells them sorry, don’t get too excited. We all know that Max just likes to run and hide. He liked to hide behind The Inner Circle, behind The Pinnacle, and now he’s hiding behind The Firm. He likes to hide behind that fake tan, his suits, and this very microphone. Because Max knows that once the bell rings, he can’t hang with Yuta! “So Max, if you wanna address these wonderful people in Philly, I’ll go ahead and do it for ya.
“Alright, uh, what do we got here? Charisma of drying paint, pet rock, I don’t think the Phillies have made the playoffs in like 11 years. He probably doesn’t even know that. I don’t know. But yeah, alright, what else? Can we skip to the part where we fight? Where you come down here and you take the ass kicking you deserve?!” Yuta’s fired up and here comes MJF! MJF has his music cut, and he’s wearing a Mets jersey, of course. Everyone give it up for the hometown boy, Yuta! “Philly: the place where you live if you can’t afford to live in New York!” Fans boo as MJF smiles.
But speaking of embarrassing, hi, Schiavone! How’s that body holding up after last week, “ya fat old pr*ck?” But MJF knows Schiavone won’t do anything because he’s “a lowdown coward, just like everybody in this Podunk arena! Except for you, Wheeler, I’ll give you credit, you’re not coward. We practically grew up in this sport together. I have been wrestling you up and down North America when we were on the independent circuit just trying to make a name for ourselves. And I’m not afraid to admit, you’re one of the best wrestlers in the world.
“However, you made a big mistake when you decided to go toe-to-toe on the mic with Daddy last week. And Daddy had to put you on timeout, didn’t he? Daddy had to spank you some.” MJF tells Philly to shut up while he’s got the mic. MJF finds it interesting that Yuta claims MJF doesn’t care about AEW, yet here Yuta is, taking up a lot of TV time from the biggest draw in AEW! And to make matters worse, Yuta is talking into a mic! Yuta, the… Fans tell MJF to STFU but MJF keeps going. Yuta has about as much charisma as Joe Frazier does present day. By the way, Frazier is dead! And speaking of dead, the Phillies are dead in the water and are never gonna win the World Series ever again!
Yuta’s amused that MJF actually went after the Phillies. MJF says whoops, there’s that local sports team talk. It’s almost like MJF doesn’t give an F! It’s almost like at 26 years of age, MJF doesn’t have to care, because he makes more money than everyone in this bum town! More than the people watching at home! MJF is a multi-millionaire at just 26! Yuta cuts MJF off here. Let’s make one thing very clear: Yuta doesn’t care about MJF’s money; he doesn’t care about MJF’s Mets jersey; Yuta doesn’t care about MJF’s scarf! If MJF doesn’t wanna fight Yuta in the ring, then Yuta will leave MJF in a pool of blood on Broad Street!! Fans cheer for that one!
MJF wants Yuta to cool off but Yuta says MJF may not know this, “but bad things happen in Philadelphia. And tonight is no exception.” Yuta rushes up the ramp but MJF gets his back-up in the Gunn Sons! Fans taunt the “ASS~ BOYS~” of The Firm, but Yuta dares them all to fight! MJF doesn’t do brawls, but if Yuta wants to wrestle, they can do that. If Yuta wants that, if the fans want that, then NO! HAHAHAHA! MJF will see Yuta in the ring next week in “Dumpy D.C.” But until then, remember this: He is… Oh, wait, the fans don’t deserve his catchphrase.
MJF will go to the skybox, watch Moxley be a horrible wrestler, and maybe cash his chip in on the Blackpool Cuckold Club. Until then, sayonara. Austin, you tell the people his catchphrase. MJF leaves as Austin takes the mic. Fans taunt the “ASS~ BOYS~” some more, but Austin says “MJF is better than you… And you know it!” The Scum of the Earth is waiting for the Dynamite Anniversary to fight Yuta, but will he not wait to cash in his chips?
AEW hears from Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, Satnam Singh, and Darby Allin.
Sonjay “congratulates” Darby Allin on one hell of a win alongside Sting. But it seems Darby still has something to prove. He is sorely mistaken if he thinks he’s gonna do that against Sonjay’s best friend, Jay Lethal. Lethal says Darby will be outclassed. Darby likes to take a lot of pain, but we’ll see how much he likes walking around after Lethal breaks one of his legs with a Figure Four! Darby says everyone wants to be a champion, but how they get there can be oh so different. Darby is going to remind himself of what he is capable of when he takes on Lethal 1v1 with no Sonjay or Satnam ringside.
Lethal says Darby has something to prove, but so does Lethal! Lethal accepts the challenge and wants to beat Darby on his own. No Sonjay, no Satnam, no Sting, who will win between the Lethal and the Relentless?
AEW World Title Eliminator: Jon Moxley VS Juice Robinson!
As we already heard, The Maniac is the most prolific AEW World Champion, but he still owes “Rock Hard” Robinson from Capital Collision. Will Moxley unload on Juice to move on to the next challenger? Or will Juice force Moxley into another showdown in DC?
As Moxley makes it to ringside from his bleacher side entrance, Juice CLOBBERS him! Moxley hits railing, Juice stomps away, the ref reprimands and fans boo. Juice drags Moxley up to whip him hard into railing! Juice tells the ref this ain’t his first match, and he drags Moxley up to HEADBUTT him! Moxley staggers, Juice HEADBUTTS Moxley again, and then follows him around the way. Juice puts Moxley in the ring, the bell rings, and Juice soaks up the heat with Too Sweets. Juice gets in the ring but Moxley clotheslines him up and out! Moxley throws off his shirt and storms out after Juice to whip him into railing now!
Fans fire up and the ring count climbs. Moxley drags Juice up, and snap suplexes Juice to the floor! Moxley refreshes the ring count to drag Juice up, but as MJF said, he’s in the skybox. MJF gives a thumbs down since Moxley’s in control, and Moxley THROWS Juice onto the timekeeper’s table! Juice and the table fall over, the ring count climbs again, and Moxley drags Juice up and into the ring. Juice throws hands but Moxley just gets in his face. Fans fire up, Juice throws another forearm but Moxley ROCKS Juice back! Juice throws another forearm, Moxley throws another, repeat! Fans rally as they go back and forth faster and faster!
Juice JABS and JABS and JABS, then powers up, but Moxley kicks low! Moxley fires off boxing elbows, EuroUppers, then runs, but Juice chokes and BITES Moxley! The ref reprimands, Juice lets off and Moxley goes to a corner. Juice runs in to clothesline! Moxley sits down, Juice calls his shot and he runs corner to corner, CANNON- NO, LARIAT! Moxley drags Juice back up, hooks the arms, but Juice tackles Moxley out of the ring! Moxley gets up to his feet first and goes to the railing. Moxley sits down to rest, but Juice CANNONBALLS! Direct hit and Juice hurries into the ring as AEW goes picture in picture.
The ring count is climbing but Moxley flounders around. The count is 7 of 10, then 8! Moxley slides in at 9! Juice is right on Moxley and he TOSSES Moxley back out! Juice then goes out after Moxley and drags him up to TOSS into the timekeeper’s area! Juice returns the favor, as he tells the ref, and then Juice gets in the ring. Juice goes back out, and Moxley’s busted open! Moxley sputters but Juice grabs him first to POST him! Juice gets in the ring to flex and soak up the heat. Moxley gets up and in but Juice looms over him. Juice sits Moxley up so he can BITE the wound!! Juice lets off as the ref counts, but he tastes Moxley’s blood!
Moxley is mad now, and he storms up to Juice. Juice ROCKS Moxley, Moxley CHOPS Juice! Juice CHOPS Moxley and Moxley falls out of the ring! Juice taunts Moxley as he staggers about. Juice goes out, MJF is talking trash to fans now, and Juice AX HANDLES Moxley down! Juice rains down fists on the bloody forehead and BITES it again! Juice lets off, wipes away Moxley’s blood, and soaks up more heat. Juice drags Moxley up to snap suplex him to the floor! Juice gets in the ring, Moxley drags himself up, but Juice is there to DECK him! Moxley goes back to the floor, and Juice AX HANDLES him down again!
Moxley ends up taking a seat in the chair, and Juice HEADBUTTS away on him! Dynamite returns to single picture, Juice lets off to go to the apron and soak up more heat. Juice CANNONBALLS but Moxley moves! Juice only gets chair!! Even MJF is wincing from that one. Moxley gets back in the ring but Juice crawls over. Fans rally for Moxley as he drags himself up. Moxley builds speed and he DIVES! Direct hit and Juice hits railing! Moxley puts Juice in the ring, Juice goes to a corner. Moxley takes aim, runs in, but Juice BOOTS him! Juice runs in, DOUBLE LARIATS collide! They go again, DOUBLE LARIATS collide even harder!

But Moxley has the knuckle locks for DRAGON STOMPS! Fans fire up and Moxley clamps on an ARMBAR! Juice taps, Moxley wins!!
Winner: Jon Moxley, by pinfall (denies Juice Robinson a title match)
MJF is upset, Juice didn’t do enough damage for his liking. But Moxley denies Juice a DC title match, will MJF decide to change targets? Wait! Here comes Hangman Page! The Cowboy has his golden ticket for Cincinnati, and he goes right into the ring. Fans fire up for this stare down, and the two look ready to square off! But then MJF has a mic in his skybox to say, “Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Ladies, settle down, settle down, settle down. Don’t you realize you’re not fighting each other? You’re not fighting each other, man. What you’re doing is fighting to lose. Cuz once you two morons get to Cincinnati, I just might cash my chip in and become the NEW AEW World Champion!
“Because I am a generational… talent!” But Yuta finds MJF! Fans fire up and MJF is confused. Yuta turns MJF around to fire off haymakers! And then he THRWOS MJF into the couch! Yuta fires off, he drags MJF up and he throws him into the bleachers! Security rushes in but Yuta fights them off! Yuta goes after MJF again and fans fire up, but security drags Yuta away! MJF has been saved for tonight, will MJF definitely reconsider what he’s doing in DC?
Saraya is here!
And just as Justin Roberts made sure to say, “SA-RAY-YA” is All Elite! Fans fire up to see the #Glampire go to the ring and get the mic. “Whew. I’ve got chills right now, you guys. Ahem. I’m baaaack~!” Fans chant, “Welcome Back!” and Saraya asks, “So you missed me? It feels fantastic to be back in the ring, you guys. It’s obviously been a crazy road. I’m damaged, but I’m not broken, at the end of the day.” Fans cheer that! Saraya says it’s great to be back, and it is great to be here in AEW, because she is going to create change in the division. She was the revolution before, and she’ll be the revolution here, because she IS the revolution!
Fans chant, “This is Your House!” and Saraya smiles. “It’s really hard to talk out here, guys, I’m so nervous. It’s been awhile. But AEW is officially my house.” The crew can give her time cues all they want, but she’ll leave when she’s ready. Let’s take up more time with ALL the ladies of AEW! And starting that off is Interim AEW Women’s World Champion, Toni Storm! She leads Athena, Madison Rayne, Skye Blue & Willow Nightingale, and they all go to the ring together to stand with Saraya. Saraya wants the fans to make some noise and they do. “When I said we’re gonna make a change, I promise you, we’re gonna make a change.”
Saraya wants to reintroduce us to these ladies. And she’ll start with the champ, Toni Storm. Fans cheer as Saraya says Toni is finally being utilized to her full potential. She is a fighting champion, the best champion AEW has seen! And Saraya is honored to be in the ring with Toni. But “Well, well, well.” Britt Baker leads Rebel, Jamie Hayter & Penelope Ford out. “Look what we have here, guys. Another shiny new toy. And we’ve seen them come, we’ve certainly seen them go. But until you actually earn some respect around here, all you are is a catchphrase. Unlike myself, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.”
Britt isn’t sure Saraya watches AEW, but Britt is the Face of the Women’s Division, and she’s literally put her blood, sweat and tears into this company. In fact, Britt even put her neck on the line for AEW. And unlike Saraya’s, Britt’s neck can handle it. Britt says Saraya made such a big impact, but half of the people in this room can’t even say her name. “Sa-Ray-Ya? Sa-Rye-Ya? Psoriasis?” Saraya tells Britt to stop right there. It is cute that Britt of all people are trying to make fun of Saraya’s name. “Well, doctor, your name rhymes with sh*t.” Hayter and Rebel try to tell Britt that’s not true, but then the fans chant it at her!
Britt tells Toni Storm that she respects her. She doesn’t like her, but Britt does respect her. Britt had such high hopes for Toni when she first got here, but she couldn’t keep herself away from all the problematic people in wrestling. They’re always in Toni’s corner. In fact, last week, they all knew the title was Britt’s, so Toni and her new tag partner, Athena, broke her nose to take her out! And yet again, conspiracy! But that’s not why they’re here tonight. They’re here because Toni has quite the match on her hands tonight. Serena Deeb is one of the most cold-blooded and calculating wrestlers on the planet.
Fans are chanting more for Hayter than Britt, but Britt says Toni is lucky she isn’t facing Hayter! Hayter gets her shot after Deeb. One misstep from Toni against The Professor, and they’ll be hearing the words, “AND NEW…” Britt calls for Serena, and Serena heads out! Britt wants the others to get out, their five minutes of fame are up. But Saraya has the music stop a moment. Saraya admits she hasn’t been around AEW that long, but she does have eyes and ears. She knows Britt’s crew likes to “get up to some funky stuff.” So how about this? Since she talked to Tony Khan–by the way, it’s so great to have a boss that finally listens to her!
But it was decided that they’ll make this match a Lumberjack match! The title is on the line, Toni has back-up just like Deeb does, and Saraya says it’s time to get this show on the road! Will the Wolf sink her teeth into the title to Britt’s delight? Or will it still be #ToniTime in Philly?
Interim AEW Women’s World Championship Lumberjack Match: Toni Storm VS Serena Deeb!
The bell rings, Saraya joins commentary, and fans rally for Toni. Toni and Deeb tie up, Deeb goes after an arm and wrenches to a wristlock. Cover, TWO! Deeb hurries to get Toni up and she throws her out to the other side. Britt, Hayter and Rebel stomp away! But Athena leads the charge and they back everyone off of Storm. Saraya likes seeing this “good trouble” as AEW goes picture in picture.
The ref has the Lumberjacks all stand down, and Storm gets up to get in the ring. Deeb is right on her with EuroUppers! Deeb short arm LARIATS Toni down, covers, TWO! Deeb is frustrated but she stomps away on Storm. Storm kicks back, Deeb kicks her to the ropes and pie faces her around. Britt and Ford talk some trash as Deeb drags Toni up for TWIST ‘N’ SHOUT! Deeb soaks up the heat as she paces around Toni. Deeb stands on Storm’s face to scrape her sole off Storm’s face! Deeb clamps onto Storm to throw down crossface forearms! Deeb then drags Storm up to EuroUpper back down!
Britt cheers Deeb on as she cravats Storm and thrashes her around. Storm endures, Madison and the others rally, and Storm snapmares free! Deeb hurries back but swings into a backslide! TWO!! A close call but Deeb swings again, into a roll-up! TWO! Deeb hurries to clinch but Storm fires forearms! Storm fires more and more and more shots, then ROCKS Deeb! Storm hurries to a corner and climbs up, Deeb stands for the CROSSBODY! Cover, TWO!

Deeb sits deep on the hold and Saraya says this is what happens when Britt is out of the equation and the women can have time. Deeb rolls Storm around into a BUTTERFLY STRETCH! Storm endures, pushes to a cover, TWO!!
Deeb lets Storm free, Storm HEADBUTTS her back! And then another GERMAN SUPLEX! Storm drags Deeb up, fans fire up, and Storm runs, only for Hayter to trip her up! Hayter drags Storm out, Skye storms up on Hayter, but Hayter DECKS Skye! Willow shoves Hayter, she and Hayter start brawling! Fans fire up as these two run to the back! The rest of the Lumberjacks put Storm in, Deeb hits a headlock takeover and floats to a GROUND DRAGON SCREW! Omoplata, and the half crab, SERENITY LOCK! Storm endures, claws forward, but Deeb sits down to really wrench the leg! Fans still rally, and Storm reaches out!
Britt holds the ropes back, but the ref reprimands. Athena CLOBBERS Ford and Rebel, then backs Britt down! Storm gets the ROPEBREAK! Deeb lets Britt go, but she drags Storm around to reel her in. Deeb tucks the arms, but Storm back drops free! Fans fire up with Storm as she goes back up top! Britt barks at Storm but Storm CROSSBODIES! Deeb rolls through! HALF CRAB!! And it is deep as Storm endures all over again! Storm grits her teeth, turns over and pushes Deeb down. Storm kicks away and Deeb stumbles into a corner! SWEET HIP MUSIC! Storm drags Deeb up, reels her in, but Deeb jackknife counters! TWO!!
Storm hits STORM ZERO!! Cover, TWO!?!? Deeb survives being spiked and no one can believe it! Deeb and Storm rise up and fans are fire dup. Storm runs in, Deeb dodges to put the legs in the ropes! DRAPING DRAGON SCREW!! Britt coaches Deeb up and Deeb climbs, but Storm stands up to HEADBUTT! Storm climbs up after Deeb, Deeb throws body shots, they brawl up top and Storm gets the edge. SUPER STORM ZERO!?!? Cover, Storm wins!!!
Winner: Toni Storm, by pinfall (still Interim AEW Women’s World Champion)
Saraya loves seeing it! The Lightning From Down Under strikes down Deeb, who will step up to her next?
Backstage interview with The Acclaimed.
Tony Schiavone is with Billy Gunn and the NEW AEW World Tag Team Champions, and Max Caster says, “Yo, listen!” Anthony Bowens says, “Philadelphia, your AEW Tag Team Champions have arrived!” Billy says, “And right when you think that that can’t get any better, next week on Dynamite, it is National Scissoring Day!” Caster says bring your shirts, bring your signs, bring your big scissors, because they’ll do the chant all night long! Y’know why? Because EVERYONE loves The Acclaimed! And there’s more! This Friday night, your #ForeverChamps have an open contract to defend these titles!
And in walks Keith Lee. He applauds them. He wants to congratulate them properly, but as you can see, Swerve is not here this week. He is “exceptionally disgruntled.” Keith has been watching Swerve’s back, and he understands why Swerve is upset. Billy Gunn, you physically got involved and cost the Limitless House their titles. “You boys got carried. Good luck.” Keith heads out but Billy tells him to tell Swerve, “I’ve got two words for him: Scissor me~!” The Acclaimed is having a good time now, but will things turn around in a flash with that open challenge put out?
Backstage interview with the Andrade Family Office.
Or rather, Tony Schiavone is standing in the middle of an argument as The Butcher & The Blade yell at Private Party, and Private Party yells back, with Andrade El Idolo upset at them all. He has them all stop shouting! It’s enough! Listen here: Andrade is your boss, Private Party! Remember that! But Marq Quen says Private Party isn’t mad at Andrade, they’re mad at Butcher & Blade! The shouting starts again but Andrade has them all stop. Jose, you tell them. The Assistant explains that Private Party are the ones upsetting Andrade, Butcher & Blade. They may not like it, but Andrade is still their boss. So either shape up, or ship out!
The others leave, and Schiavone talks with Private Party alone. He usually doesn’t take sides in this, but… Oh, Matt Hardy walks in. Hardy tells Isiah & Marq that he’s sorry they’ve ended up in this situation. But what happened last week in the Golden Ticket Battle Royal felt right! They’re connected! They always have been. Andrade is way worse for them than Big Money Matt ever was. So they should quit, get out of the deal, and Hardy will be waiting. And this time, he promises them both that they’ll do it right. Will Private Party terminate their deal with the AFO to get the #HardyParty started right?
BREAKING NEWS for Rampage!
With that open contract out on the tag titles, it seems the AFO jumped on it with not just one but TWO teams! Private Party AND The Butcher & The Blade are challenging The Acclaimed in a TRIPLE THREAT! Will Caster & Bowens survive the biggest first defense possible?
Plus, after their confrontation during the Lumberjack match, Willow Nightingale and Jamie Hayter will go 1v1! Then, as he fights his way towards Daniel Garcia’s ROH Pure Championship, Lee Moriarty takes on a returning Fuego Del Sol! And after his big win alongside Action Bronson for the Grand Slam, HOOK is back in action! Who will step to the Cold-Hearted, Handsome Devil next?
Ricky Starks VS Eli Isom!
The Absolute avenged his loss at All Out against “Powerhouse” Hobbs, but it took Lights Out to do it! Will Starks start getting that spotlight shining back on him here tonight?
The bell rings, Starks and Isom tie up, and Starks headlocks. Starks grinds the hold, but Isom wrenches free and headlocks back. Starks powers out the back and hammerlocks, but Isom elbows free! Isom run sin and forearm smashes in the corner! Isom whips corner to corner but Starks goes up and over. Things speed up, Starks barrels through Isom’s shoulder tackle to then SPEAR him down! Fans fire up with Starks and he drags Isom up, for ROSHAMBEAUX! Cover, Starks wins!
Winner: Ricky Starks, by pinfall
That was easy work for Starks, and he is absolutely back in the swing of things! Is this the start of a new chapter in the Book of Starks?
AEW looks closer at the drama filled feud of Jungle Boy, Christian Cage & Luchasaurus.
AEW shares footage from after Rampage: Grand Slam. Jack Perry was obviously pissed that after one of the hardest fought matches in his career, and one of the biggest victories in his entire life, Captain Charisma and his personal kaiju attacked. One of JB’s proudest achievements, he gets screwed over again by the two people he used to care about the most in AEW. But they can do whatever they want, he will get them both. Where JB used to hang their AEW World Tag titles on the wall, he will hang both their heads! Will Jungle Boy hunt down the wrestling dinosaur and his new master?
ROH World Championship: Chris Jericho VS Bandido!
The Wizard, Le Champion, the Lionheart, is very proud of himself for becoming an EIGHT-TIME World Champion in his career. But because he is (supposedly) the most honorable man in AEW, he is willing to be a fighting champion. Will #THEOCHO barely last seven days? Or will The Most Wanted, one of the greatest luchadors in the world today, still be a former ROH World Champion?
Bobby Cruise makes the introductions, the belt is raised, and we see who is truly the best ROH champion ever!
Fans rally for Bandido at the bell, and Jericho offers the handshake. Bandido takes it to uphold the Code of Honor, and then Jericho turns it into some kind of secret handshake he’s coming up with on the spot. Then he flips Bandido off! Bandido DECKS Jericho for that! Jericho gets up but Bandido throws more hands. Bandido whips, Jericho reverses and then CLOBBERS Bandido! Jericho kicks Bandido around, drags him up and CHOPS him to a corner. Jericho CHOPS Bandido again, CHOPS him against ropes, and fans bring back the chant of “WE WANT PIZZA!” Jericho whips Bandido but Bandido handsprings through!
Jericho avoids the contact and rushes in, but Bandido uses that to throw Jericho up and out! Bandido then builds speed to DIVE! Direct hit and Jericho hits railing! Bandido resets, builds speed and FOSBURY FLOPS! Direct hit on Jericho and fans fire up! Bandido ROCKS Jericho, puts him in the ring, and he high-fives fans as AEW goes picture in picture.
Bandido hurries up the corner and he SKY TWISTERS to take Jericho down! Cover, TWO! Jericho hurries out of the ring and Bandido wonders what’s up. Jericho throws a tantrum, but Bandido goes out after him! They brawl with forearms, Jericho ROCKS Bandido but Bandido fires back! Bandido whips, Jericho reverses and Bandido hits steel steps! Jericho hurries into the ring, soaks up the heat, and fans give thumbs down. So Jericho flips them off! Jericho goes back out after Bandido, puts him in the ring, and he stomps Bandido around. Jericho sits Bandido up to rain down fists! Jericho paces and soaks up more heat before he drags Bandido up.
Jericho puts Bandido in a corner, CHOPS him down, then drags him back up. Jericho CHOPS Bandido in the corner again, but Bandido turns it around to CHOP back! And CHOP! And CHOP! And then CHOP!! Fans fire up with Bandido and he whips corner to corner. Jericho bounces off buckles and Bandido trophy lifts him! Bandido shows he has power on top of speed, and he SLAMS Jericho down! Cover, TWO! Jericho is still in this as Dynamite returns to single picture. Fans rally for Bandido and he fires off forearms on Jericho. Bandido whips, Jericho BOOTS him back, but then Bandido dodges Jericho again.
Jericho ends up on the apron, he hurries up top, and leaps, into a SUPERKICK! Bandido reels Jericho in, suplexes, holds Jericho up with one arm and he counts along with the fans! We go past ten to TWENTY! We’re still going! THIRTY! Then past that to FORTY!! And then the SLAM at SIXTY!! A full minute stall and fans are thunderous! Bandido staggers up and heads for a corner. Bandido climbs up, takes aim and gives us some Latino Heat! FROG SPLASH!! Cover, TWO!! Jericho survives but fans chant for “EDDIE! EDDIE!” Bandido drags Jericho back up, fires off forearms, then runs, but into a FLAPJACK!
Jericho runs to BOOT Bandido down! Jericho huffs and puffs and he drags Bandido up. Jericho puts Bandido in the corner to CHOP! And CHOP! And then whip to clothesline in the other corner! Jericho hoists Bandido up, CHOPS him, then climbs up after him. Bandido throws hands, Jericho and Bandido brawl, and fans still want pizza. Bandido SUPER GOURD BUSTERS Jericho down! Jericho JABS Bandido’s already bloody nose! But Bandido RANAS Jericho to the floor!! Fans are thunderous again as both men are down and AEW goes picture in picture!
The ref checks on both men, and somehow they’re both okay to continue. Jericho and Bandido slowly stir, the ring count is climbing, and we’re at 5 of 10 with both men still down. Bandido and Jericho finally start to sit up, the count is 7 of 10, both Bandido and Jericho slide in at 9! Jericho crawls over to Bandido, drags him up by his hair, and CHOPS! Bandido CHOPS back! Winner: Chris Jericho, by submission (still ROH World Champion)
Where’s the honor in that!? Jericho makes Bobby Cruise get in the ring to make the official announcement, and then he has Bobby hold the mic up for him. Jericho has the music cut to say the Ring of Jericho Era has begun! He is changing what ROH is, desecrate its legacy, destroy its legend, and beat every great champion that has ever held “The Ring of Jericho” title! Jericho will continue with BRYAN DANIELSON! October 12th, in Toronto, Canada, Jericho dares Bryan to fight him for the ROH World Championship! Jericho will destroy every ROH champion, commentator, referee and announcer! What?
LOW BLOW to Bobby Cruise!! AND A JUDAS EFFECT!! Jericho’s reign of terror over ROH begins tonight, but will the American Dragon be able to end it in two weeks?
A great Dynamite to keep things going from last week’s awesome Grand Slam events, as well as set up the anniversary and following events. We got a great opening segment from the JAS, and those purple suits honestly looked really good. Poor Luigi Primo, though. I don’t know if the bucket hat is supposed to mean something, but it does work as a disappointing gift for such a big night. Garcia of course pushes forward towards defecting from the JAS, and Bryan joining in was a good touch. Great match from Bryan VS Menard tonight, and Bryan & Garcia VS Jericho & Sammy is going to be awesome, and it will factor in greatly to the tiebreaker of Bryan VS Jericho.
Jericho VS Bandido was an amazing main event, but I had a feeling Jericho would win. Jericho wants to take on every former ROH World Champion but sets up the tiebreaker, I have a feeling he’s doomed his reign to only last until October 12th. At the same time, there could be any number of “sports entertainment” overbooking shenanigans going on that help Jericho retain. Jericho stating his mission, I would love to see him continue on to then face all those former world champions, such as Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly and Jay Lethal. Lethal is going to have a great match with Darby, but I feel like Darby is going to win that since it was promised to be truly 1v1.
Great stuff from the rest of the Blackpool Combat Club, such as Yuta confronting MJF and scaring him off to Moxley VS Juice in a great match. I had a feeling Moxley would win so that he can focus on Hangman Page in Cincinnati next. MJF will find a way past Yuta next week, and then he’ll be lurking in Cincinnati, that has to be the cash-in spot. Very good promo from JB to further the story with Christian Cage & Luchasaurus. JB will probably be the one to attack next as retaliation. JB VS Luchasaurus can happen for Full Gear, and Christian’s arm needing time to heal, there’s a chance this story goes all the way to the holidays in December.
Great promo from The Acclaimed and Keith Lee, and a great promo from AFO and Matt Hardy. That Triple Threat for the tag titles is going to be great, but Acclaimed will retain by using the dysfunctional AFO against itself. Then Hardy will support Private Party against Andrade, we can get a great Six Man Tag out of it. Starks of course wins that squash match, that match almost didn’t need to happen here but hey, Starks is still a fan favorite.
And while it was great to hear from Saraya again, something was just a bit awkward about the full women’s segment. Saraya and Britt got at each other pretty well, but did Saraya really need to make a jab at WWE? Especially after the changing of the guard over there and how things have already turned around for the better? Is Tony Khan gonna be petty about the WWE forever? I did appreciate that Saraya is already poised as a supervisor of the women’s division since she got to make the stipulation of the Lumberjack match. And that match was awesome stuff with some good stories set up, such as that match for Hayter VS Willow on Rampage.
Storm retaining makes sense and WOW that second rope piledriver. With Britt worrying about her nose, I am sure Hayter beats Willow and then Hayter really does get the next turn. Storm VS Hayter will be great, and maybe other Heels get to step up. But again, the one thing we need to start seeing is two women’s matches on Dynamite or this is all lip service like WWE gave us years ago with The Authority pinning the bad ratings and ideas on “Constable Corbin.” Quality like this is a great start, but we still need quantity, too.
