Hangman Page VS John Silver w/ The Dark Order!

The fans are fired up for some #CowboyStuff as Hangman gets back in the ring! But can he get back on the horse, as they say, against Number 4? Or, given what we’ve seen on Being The Elite, will he give in and #JoinDarkOrder instead?

The bell rings and Silver wants a fist bump. The fans are conflicted but Hangman refuses the bump. Hangman and Silver circle, tie up, and Hangman wrenches to a wristlock. Silver spins through, headlocks and holds tight. Hangman powers out, they ram shoulders but Hangman rebounds to run Silver over. Things speed up, Hangman catches Silver to SLAM him! Silver boots back from the mat then keeps moving, to tilt-o-whirl and arm-drag! Hangman gets up and Silver dropkicks him down! Silver double guns and fans boo, but Silver cools things off. Silver tells Hangman they can hang, because Hangman’s jacked, too. Hangman ROLLING ELBOWS Silver down!

Hangman puts Silver back in the corner to CHOP once more! Fans fire up as Hangman drags Silver back up. Hangman whips and back drops Silver high and hard! Hangman tries to get a measurement on how high Silver went before he whips Silver corner to corner. Silver goes up and over, Hangman switches with him and Silver CLUBS Hangman on the back! Hangman chuckles and Silver says it isn’t personal, that was just some fun. Hangman whips Silver to the ring and triangle jumps, into an enziguri!

Silver goes up top, leaps, crossbody! Cover, TWO! Hangman gets to ropes and Silver throws big forearms. Silver keeps on Hangman in a corner, CHOPS him, but Hangman CHOPS back! Silver mule kicks, ROUND KICKS Hangman in the chest, then KICKS again! Hangman grits his teeth as fans rally up. Silver brings Hangman up but Hangman CHOPS him again! Hangman whips Silver to ropes, Silver reverses and runs him over with an elbow! Cover, TWO! Silver keeps his cool and he forearms. Hangman forearms back and the two go back and forth. Winner: Hangman Page, by pinfall

Johnny Hungy and Hangman was serving up soup bones! The Dark Order returns but not to fight. Evil Uno wants Hangman to understand this isn’t what that is. Uno has regrets about how they’ve treated him. But surely Hangman has regrets of his own. Hangman was a member of one of the most popular groups ever. But Hangman is also an individual who, no matter how many times he tried to leave, that group would not let him go. If that’s not a cult, Uno doesn’t know what is. Hangman has a lot on his plate, and not many people to rely on. But the Dark Order is here for him. Hangman knows where they are and where to find them. Will Hangman actually #JoinDarkOrder after all?

BREAKING NEWS for next week!

Winter is Coming, but it’ll heat up as the second-ever Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royal will be held! MJF still holds his ring as the inaugural winner, and he’s in that match again alongside, Wardlow, Miro, Kip Sabian, Orange Cassidy, Shawn Spears, Scorpio Sky, Matt Sydal, Matt Hardy, Private Party, Sammy Guevara, Alex Reynolds, and even John Silver and Hangman Page! Will Maxwell Jacob Friedman add a ring to the collection? Or will someone else be joining him in the DDR club?

AEW hears from Kenny Omega.

Last week, the contract signing didn’t quite go the way it was supposed to. Jon Moxley was viciously attacked and never made it to the ring. Hopefully the contract signing finishes tonight. Omega says that after such an uneventful week, he has had time to reflect. It may sound cliché, Omega has come to the conclusion that “the more things change, the more they stay the same.” If Omega looks back to a year ago, almost to the day, Omega was nursing injuries from facing Moxley. Omega will admit that, though it isn’t on the record, he did lose. Omega can do that, because he has changed.

Omega looks to the present and things are about to be the same. Instead of Omega’s face, he sees Moxley on every magazine cover, and having everyone call Moxley the best. That’s the change. But then after the title contender tournament, suddenly Omega’s name is brought back up. “The Return of the Cleaner, the Return of the Best Bout Machine, the Return of the TRUE Best in the World.” That is the same. The common thread that binds him and Moxley is the AEW World Championship. For a year, Omega has struggled, clawed and fought to be taken seriously again. And now when Omega gets his belt, then the people will consider him the best.

So this isn’t a stipulation, but a gentleman’s challenge: for one night, Moxley, “damn it please, leave the garbage wrestling at home.” No tables, no chairs, no garbage cans, no thumbtacks. Be the best by beating Omega in the ring. Pin, submission, or even choke Omega out. But do it with your ability. Omega will be waiting for his response in the ring. Good-bye, goodnight, all that jazz, sign the contract. Oh, and Omega adds this: yes, Moxley is the good guy, and congratulations on the baby. But listen to that childhood story of yours. It pulled at Omega’s heartstrings. But the thing is, Moxley’s dad didn’t seem that tough at all. Omega’s dad would probably beat the sh*t out of Moxley’s.

Harsh words and a lot of fire from Omega, but will he be the one put on ice when he and Moxley battle next week at Winter is Coming?

MORE news for Winter is Coming!

Things are not done between Cody Rhodes, Darby Allin and Team Taz! But things change a bit, as now “POWERHOUSE” WILL HOBBS will team with Ricky Starks against the American Nightmare and the #Relentless TNT Champion! But will Powerhouse have even more momentum going into that match with his match tonight? We find out, after the break!

Darby Allin has another video.

He smashes up another car, and sprays it with paint. “And now the fun part, Team Taz. Survive, if I let you.” Darby is taking Taz’s words and using them against him! And then Darby sets the car on fire! Will Darby burn down Absolute and the Powerhouse alongside the American Nightmare?

“Powerhouse” Will Hobbs VS Lee Johnson!

A change of allegiance, a change of attitude, and now a change of name! Will Team Taz’s new Powerhouse absolutely crush Big Shotty?

The bell rings, Johnson dodges Hobbs and then goes up and over! Johnson keeps moving but Hobbs CLOBBERS him with that body block! Hobbs looms over Johnson while fans fire up and jeer! “You Sold Out!” but Hobbs ignores that to toss Johnson out! Hobbs then goes out and goes around the way to CLOBBER Johnson again! The Gunn Club are especially upset, they’re Nightmare Family but also Hobbs’ friends. Hobbs says “It’s just business.” Hobbs picks Johnson up to THROW him into railing! The ring count is at 6 but Hobbs drags Johnson up and in at 7. Hobbs stalks Johnson, lets him flounder up and tells him it’s not personal. Hobbs scoops Johnson for the POWERHOUSE SLAM! Cover, Hobbs wins!

Winner: “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs, by pinfall

Big, strong, fast, and now mean as all hell. Taz joins Hobbs in the ring and says, “Here’s the deal, my man.” There is business to be taken care of. As you can see, Taz again has the FTW Championship that Brian Cage was only just holding. Cage and Starks have been celebrating big that Hobbs is now on their team. Go celebrate with them. Hobbs heads out and Taz says there is a problem. The FTW Championship and this company, AEW, are not cooperating. Taz is sick and tired of the disrespect, and the FTW Lifestyle not being acknowledged. He’s not dealing with it anymore. Taz wants management to get their asses get out here and make the title mean something!

There is a legacy here! There is a reason men, real tough bastards, hold this belt! So management, get out here! But then he’s MUTED! Taz sees how it is. He tells Justin Roberts to get up and give him his mic. Justin isn’t so sure if he should but Taz shouts at him. Justin gives the mic over and Taz talks again. Keith Mitchell, Tony Khan, you mute him again, he’ll take his ass to the desk and then grab a headset that they won’t be able to cut off. This isn’t his first rodeo, boys! But then the mic is muted again! Taz is pissed, but he’s going to follow through with his warning.

Security wants to escort Taz away, and here comes Cody from gorilla! Cody asks if Taz is done. Give Taz applause, because he is done. Cody is here out of respect. Taz is wasting air time, and next week is the match to settle it. Starks and Hobbs, Cody and Darby, isn’t that good enough? Taz tells Cody that he’s here for a reason. What’s happening next week will be the same as last week: Cody and Darby getting whooped. But that’s not why Taz is here now. Taz wants management to take the FTW Championship and put some respect on its name! He is tired of this sh*t!

Okay, Taz, okay. Someone from management is here, and Cody is hearing it, digesting it, looking at the title. How about he runs it up the pole? Oh, and what else is he going to say? Does “creative” have nothing for him? More corporate BS? Best of luck on future endeavors? Is that what Cody will do next? Oh okay then. Taz feels the FTW Championship means everything right? It’s so important, right? It’s so wonderful, right? Then answer Cody this! Taz’s son, Hook, is training to be a wrestler, right? Why the hell is he NOT training with Taz, but training with Cody?

Taz puts his mic down, and Cody says they’re done. Taz can’t believe Cody went there. That’s pathetic and stupid. Taz does turn to go, but then he sneaks up on Cody! TAZMISSION!! TAZMISSION!! Gunn Club gets in and Taz gets out! But the damage to Cody was done! And then Taz’s son, Hook, is there to hep his dad carry the FTW title away. Has this just escalated past Team Taz VS Cody and Darby to the Taz Family VS Nightmare Family?

Backstage interview with Eddie Kingston.

Death Triangle has reformed, and tonight, Fenix teams with PAC to take on The Butcher & The Blade. They’ve left The Fam, so how does the Fam feel about that? Well he isn’t angry with his former best friend, but he’s just really really really disappointed. Fenix is a showboat, likes to jump around and do flippy stuff, it was expected. As for Pack, Pac, Bing, Bong, Poop, whatever, “you’ve been gone for eight months, brother, things’ve changed!” The King is here! Pac won a battle, not the war.

But then Jon Moxley comes by and Kingston stares him down. Kingston says it wasn’t him who attacked Moxley. Kingston has his own stuff to handle. But Moxley does know who did it, and has that to handle, “champ.” Moxley leaves without a word, but who does Kingston mean?

AEW hears from the Vicious Vixens, Vickie Guerrero and Nyla Rose.

Vickie says today, “we’re going to have a lesson about nepotism. What does that mean? It is the practice among those with power who influence their friends in giving them a job.” Sounds a lot like Brandi Rhodes. What if Big Swole, Serena Deeb and Red Velvet were influenced by Mrs. Rhodes? On the other hand, Jade Cargill did not need to be influenced by the Vicious Vixens at all in going after Brandi. Nor does Nyla Rose need to be influenced to destroy her opponents in the ring. It seems Brandi’s business plan is set up for failure. So if she needs any advice, just call Vickie. Will things only get more vicious in the AEW Women’s Division as things go on?

AEW hears from FTR.

“Full Gear was supposed to be the dream match, and I don’t care how many of our peers message us, I don’t care how many legends say, how many journalists write that it’s one of the greatest tag team matches in history,” Cash Wheeler says that was one of the worst nights in his life. Dax Harwood says “there comes a time in a man’s life when he’s gotta dig deep in his soul. He’s gotta do some soul searching and be real honest with himself.” It pains him to say this, but Dax says that for three seconds, the Bucks were the absolute best. For three seconds, they were better than FTR. But beating Jessie James doesn’t mean you’re as bad as Jessie James, and FTR are the baddest, the incumbent, the incomparable! They need those titles, that is their life!

Tully wants FTR to understand that it is their destiny to be the best, and it is Tully’s destiny to be their coach, and for them to be a team! These two gentlemen are the next world tag team champions, and the Bucks need to #FearTheRevelation.

The Demo God and Big Hurt are back in action as a team, and are aiming high as they take on the very accomplished duo in Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian. AEW hears from Miro, Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford.

“Ladies and gentlemen, today is a big day!” Because today is the debut of the Miro & Kip Video Game Extravaganza! Let’s start with the- Orange Cassidy sneaks in and turns off their new XBOX! Miro is pissed and gives chase, but it’s a trap! Best Friends jump Miro and Kip! They brawl around the lot, Trent is thrown into the side of the trailer but he dodges as Miro runs in! Trent then SMACKS Miro with a tray! Kip avoids being thrown into  trunks but Best Friends DOUBLE BOMB him into a portapotty! Miro gets the cameraman out of the way by force and attacks Best Friends! We can’t see the brawling continue, but surely this won’t be the end of it! Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royale aside next week, will it be #GameOver for Freshly Squeezed and Best Friends soon enough?

Tony Schiavone once again presides over the AEW World Championship contract signing.

Last week, this didn’t work out because Moxley was attacked. But with only one week away, this has to happen! We’ll see the two best wrestlers in the world face off for the title belt! First, the challenger…! “He is a Wrestling Observer Hall of Famer, who was voted by esteemed members of the wrestling industry. These esteemed members of the wrestling industry decided that he is a Wrestling Observer Hall of Famer. Unlike the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame, the NASCAR Hall of Fame is based in North Carolina~! He is, KENNYYYY~! OOOOMEGAAA!” The Sweepettes are back again as Omega makes his entrance from the tunnel, but wait who is that behind him!? MOXLEY ATTACKS!! Moxley attacks Omega and throws him throw his special curtain!

Moxley dumps Omega into the ring, throws punches then tosses him over the desk! Moxley grabs his belt and sets it in front of Omega. Omega grabs for it and Moxley stands on his hand! Moxley then drags Omega up, to give him a PARADIGM SHIFT onto the title!! Fans are going nuts as Moxley has Schiavone give him the mic. “Gentlemen’s agreement? Riiight…” Moxley isn’t sure who Omega got to take him out last week, but they did a piss poor job because Moxley’s still walking. Next time you wanna put a hit out on someone, just give Mox a call, he knows some guys out of Philly.

“And I thought our beef was squashed one year ago, and then you had to go and piss me off!” But don’t worry. Consider them even. There’s only one way to become champion, Moxley’s made sure of that. He has protected this championship. The only way you become champion is by digging down deep into your guts and find the Kenny Omega everyone thinks he is. Omega has to climb a mountain no one has been able to these last 18 months. You gotta beat MOX on December 2nd, right here on TNT, the biggest match in Dynamite history! The two best on the planet tangle for this title, “GOD I LOVE THIS S*IT!” Win, lose, or draw, Winter is Coming for Kenny.

This is not a game, jokes on BTE or dancing girls with brooms. When you come at the king, you best not miss, because Moxley doesn’t take prisoners. “Steady your hand, aim, and take your shot, Kenny. Because you’re only gonna get one.” And with that, Moxley signs his part of the contract! And thanks, Schiavone! Now it’s official! But who takes home the gold and who gets left out in the cold?

Backstage interview with The Inner Circle.

Before Marvez can say anything, MJF grabs the mic from him. “What kind of man sucker punches another man in the face?! I’ll tell you who! Frankie ‘The Coward’ Kazarian!” Hypocrisy aside there, Jericho continues. “Marvez, after a fair and square victory by the Inner Circle, Hager ‘Big Jake’ and myself, beating Christopher Daniels, beating Frankie Kazarian, Kazarian dares to put his hands on this man.” MJF can barely move his jaw and there will be dental issues, despite him just talking. That is not how the IC does things. Jericho said that the fun and games for the Inner Circle are done. They’ll go back to what they do best: beating the hell out of the AEW roster!

And guess what, Kaz? Jericho makes you famous! For the first time ever, Jericho VS Kaz 1v1 on Dynamite! Jericho will have his revenge on behalf of MJF! Kaz has had a great career, but next week, it’s over. But will things be just as “fair and square” as they were tonight?

AEW takes a closer look at the Women’s World Championship match.

Hikaru Shida and Anna Jay faced off once before, far earlier in the year, and Anna was little more than a rookie at the time. Anna says Shida took advantage of that. At Full Gear, Nyla Rose went after Shida’s knee at every turn. Shida says the knee is fine now, but that is what it is to be champion. Shida tells Anna that “Losing is learning.” If Anna needs the Dark Order and her friend, Tay Conti, to help her avoid losing, then what is she learning? But Tay is teaching Jay much, as both a blackbelt in judo and blue belt in jiujitsu. People might underestimate this friendship, but they don’t see that Jay and Tay make each other better. That is why Jay will be the champion!

But Shida wants to know Jay’s true strength, and see her true colors. Jay says that the last piece to her transformation is the title. The only thing in her way of that title is Shida. Shida says it isn’t the belt Jay needs. “It’s more heart. Bring it.”

AEW Women’s World Championship: Hikaru Shida VS Anna Jay w/ Tay Conti!

The Full Metal Warrior was able to slay the Native Beast again at Full Gear, but now she’s against a Queenslayer! We heard from both, but will Shida be proven right as Tay accompanies Jay to ringside?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and Number 99 looks to end Shida’s 20 singles-match win streak! But at the same time, Numbers 4, 5 and 10 are on stage. Will they be a factor in this rematch of now very different women?

The screwjobs and shenanigans didn’t stop Shida! She still has the title, and Anna Jay still can’t do it alone! Will Shida add onto her 21 match streak in 2020 to- Oh no. ABADON is here?! Another opponent Shida faced earlier in the year is back to haunt her, and this time it’s literal! Abadon snatches the title belt from Shida and licks it!! Abadon clearly wants the title, but will it take more than being a living horror movie to stop Shida?

AEW hears from Matt Hardy.

He introduces himself as the “iconic” Matt Hardy. “The most creative and innovative trailblazer in pro-wrestling history.” 2020 has been a difficult year for us all. Considering Hardy’s super stardom, he felt the need to inspire us to fight on. If Hardy can survive 2020, so can we. And when he secured a win at the ELITE DELETION, all was right in the world! So if Hardy can overcome insurmountable odds, than obviously we can conquer our pedestrian challenges. Just remember: if you’re feeling overwhelmed and ready to quit, just think “What Would Matt Hardy Do?” And the answer is survive, thrive and win! Hardy is doing his best to motivate the world, but will he be able to survive, thrive and win in the Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royale?

Team Taz speaks.

Absolute Ricky Starks is absolutely livid as he shouts, “You have crossed a line tonight, Cody!” Taz left with his son, all because of Cody! Starks wants to be frank with everyone tonight: “We love it here at AEW. Tony, he takes care of us. He pays us good, he puts us in the main event matches, he puts us in big matches.” The only thing Starks has a problem with is Cody Rhodes! Cage agrees, and Starks continues to say that the only problem they have with Cody is that his “paper thin ego” gets in the way.

Tonight, Cody begged Khan to cut Taz’s mic, because Cody didn’t want Taz reminding the fans that Starks and Cage defeated Cody and Darby, the TNT Champion. And then Cody went all, “Hey, I’m training your kid!” You made this personal! So Starks and Hobbs are coming to bust heads! FTW, the most dominant force in wrestling! Who betta?

Death Triangle VS The Butcher & The Blade w/ The Bunny!

It was very clear that things were growingly dysfunctional within Eddie Kingston’s “family,” and it all fell apart when it came to that World Title Eliminator Tournament. But now PAC is BACK, and he is once again with the Lucha Brothers! Fenix will be alongside the Bastard, will they break the Butcher and Blade down before Kingston’s eyes?

AEW returns once again and Triangulo del Muerte makes their entrance with a lot of pyro! But before they even hit the ring, Butcher and Blade go after Bastard and Firebird! Penta El Zero M gets clear as the brawl goes down on the stage! The ref reprimands but this isn’t a match yet! Butcher TOSSES Fenix into the ring and NOW it’s a match. Blade and Pac brawl but Butcher powers Fenix to a corner. Pac whips Blade into barriers while Fenix fights back. Butcher blocks a boot but Pac clubs Butcher on the back! Blade endures, Fenix throws elbows but Blade resists. Penta coaches Fenix, Fenix rains down furious forearms then drags Blade up. Pac tags in, Death Triangle mugs Blade! Pac bumps Blade off buckles, wrenches and whips Blade corner to corner, and fans fire up. Fans rally up as Pac stalks Blade. Pac wants everyone to settle down, and he slaps Blade around. Pac runs to KICK, Blade LARIATS! Kingston is pumped up on commentary as Butcher gets in, and Fenix LEAPS, into an uppercut! Butcher whips, Fenix tiger feints to HEEL KICK!

Pac rises and he heads after Blade. Pac throws Blade out and Penta gets his shots in! Fenix covers for his brother and so does Pac. Penta CHPOS Blade against railing but Butcher storms over to stomp Fenix! Pac puts Blade in, covers, TWO! Pac keeps his cool as he stomps Blade more. Pac stares Butcher down but goes back to Blade. Pac drags Blade up to throw elbows into his head. Pac scuffs Blade with his boot, then drops knees. Fenix tells the ref to be wary of Bunny while Pac boots Blade down. Pac drags Blade over, tags Fenix, and they mug Blade. They double whip, double hip toss, then Fenix runs, wheelbarrow senton combo! AEW returns to single picture as Pac hits a leaping elbow drop! Cover, TWO! Pac paces but Blade throws body shots. Pac BOOTS him down again and Blade staggers to ropes. Pac bumps him off buckles then tags in Fenix. Fenix brings Blade out to whip but Blade reverses to HOTSHOT! Hot tag to Butcher! Butcher brings Fenix up for a SLAM! Butcher drops a knee and then drops another knee.

Kingston is fired up as Butcher fakes out a stomp to drop a leg! Cover, TWO! Butcher keeps Fenix from Pac, then bumps him hard off buckles. Butcher CHOPS Fenix down, hauls him up and bumps him off buckles! Tag to Blade and Blade kicks Fenix around. Blade bumps Fenix off buckles and the mask is a little loose. Blade drags Fenix up, fans rally and duel and Fenix spins out to CHOP and CHOP and run, to somersault, only for Blade to suplex. Fenix fights out of that, rebounds and handsprings to CUTTER! Both men are down but fans are thunderous! Hot tag to Pac, and he BOOTS Butcher!

Pac dodges Blade, kicks and kicks and sobats to running dropkick! Blade flounders, Pac runs in at the corner, but Blade puts him o the corner. Pac shoulder sin, slingshots up and over and then enziguris! Blade staggers, into a wrench and NORTHERN LIGHTS! Bridging cover, TWO! Fans rally up as Pac drags Blade to a drop zone. Pac climbs up, aims, and SHOOTING STAR, but Blade moves! Pac comes back, SPINNING POWERSLAM! Both men are down and fans fire up! Hot tag to Butcher and he watches Pac rise. Butcher runs at Pac to LARIAT!! Cover, TWO!! Butcher drags Pac up to whip to a corner then tags in Blade.

Blade runs in to BOOT, Butcher clotheslines, Blade CHOPS! Fireman’s carry, toss to the GUT BUSTER! Then a DOCTOR BOMB! Cover, Fenix dropkicks it apart! Fans are fired up but Butcher TOSSES Fenix to the ramp! Fans boo as Blade drags Pac up. Blade suplexes, Pac slips out but Blade elbow shim away. Blade whips, Fenix tags in, Pac slides and Fenix BOOGTS! Pac clotheslines, SUPERKICK AND SWEEP! Butcher goes after Pac and Kingston goes to the ring! Allie distracts the ref and Kingston trips up Fenix! Fenix gets the POWERBOMB NECKBREAKER! Cover, The Fam wins!!

Winners: The Butcher & The Blade, by pinfall

The Mad King helps his men take down two-thirds of Death Triangle! And Butcher even BOOTS Penta so that it’s all parts! They put Pac back in and Allie fetches a chair. Blade stomps Penta, Butcher stomps Fenix, and Kingston takes the chair to drag Pac over. DDT to the chair!! But Kingston wants Pac to suffer more, and he gives Pac a second DDT to the chair! The fans are booing as loud as possible as Kingston wants a third! But wait, is that…? LANCE ARCHER?!

The Murderhawk Monster has wanted after Kingston for a long time, but he first CROSSBODIES Blade from the stage!! And then throws hands with Butcher! Kingston sucker punches Archer, then he and Butcher double whip. But they get a DOUBLE CROSSBODY! Fans fire up as Archer grabs Kingston, but the Fam attacks back Fenix and Penta attack Butcher and Blade, Archer throws hands on Kingston! Archer whips Kingston but Kingston bails out! The Fam regroups and retreats while the Lucha Brothers check on Pac. Will The Bastard have to miss more time after just returning? Will Kingston have to come to terms with the fact #EverybodyDies?

My Thoughts:

A great episode as the go-home to “Winter is Coming.” I was hoping for a bit more Game of Thrones references and jokes set up for next week, but maybe they’re saving all of those for next week. Hangman VS Silver was obviously going to be a win for Hangman, but I like that the story is there for Hangman possibly leaving The Elite for good, and then he joins Dark Order. I don’t know if he will, but it would definitely be something big for him and for Dark Order. But I wonder if AEW has put the Cabana story aside, since he’s basically in the position they’re trying to put Hangman in.

I find it interesting that Will Hobbs now has a name very much like “Hangman” Adam Page. “Powerhouse” Hobbs of course gets a win, but the character work during was very good. Fans and peers say he sold out but he says this is just business. He gets right in on the feud Team Taz has with Cody and Darby, but Taz coming out to argue about the FTW Championship and then things “getting personal” with Cody was a great way to escalate. Taz putting Cody in a Tazmission was itself a great detail, I wonder if this gives us an 8 Man Tag of the complete Team Taz against Darby, Cody and the Natural Nightmares, Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall. Perhaps at a certain point we also get a 6 Man Tag of Gunn Clubb VS Hobbs, Cage and Starks. And I think in the end, win or lose, the FTW Championship becomes officially recognized by AEW to give this stacked company a second midcard title.

TH2 VS Top Flight was a great match, but naturally TH2 wins, because they’re clearly next to feud with the Bucks. We got a really good promo from FTR and Tully, but it was mostly to bide time while AEW works up a feud for them on the way back to the top. There was a lot of energy during the Inner Circle VS SCU, I think it was brilliant for MJF to be the one with the last piece of the screwjob. Jericho VS Kaz next week will be a great match, but I want to see a Six Man of SCU VS Jericho, MJF and perhaps Sammy Guevara. I can already see there being an argument of who the third man should be, mostly revolving around Hager and Wardlow as muscle, but with Sammy’s AEW Dark promo and how he’s still not 100% trusting of MJF, that trio might make for the best combination.

Next week having the second-ever Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royale is also interesting news. I don’t think AEW would take MJF’s ring away, so they must be making a second ring so that potentially, there will be someone else with a ring. They can surely tease that MJF will win again to have two rings on one hand, or one for each hand, but someone else should definitely get that ring. I find it interesting that Hardy, after winning ELITE DELETION, started to shift gears in his promo to be the humble brag kind of Heel. Maybe he’ll win the battle royal to use the ring as a point of emphasis on what he was saying.

The story of the second contract signing was really good. Kingston clearly felt Omega attacked Moxley in some way and that made Moxley think the same. Omega’s promo talking trash on Moxley was really good, Moxley attacking during Omega’s entrance was great, and Moxley’s promo on Omega after was also really good. That match is going to be incredible, and I have no idea who wins, which makes it all the better. Death Triangle VS The Fam was a lot of good stuff, that attack from Kingston was brutal, and how surprising for Lance Archer to make his move now, as if he were a Face. If Pac is kayfabe sidelined, I could see Archer subbing in to team with Lucha Brothers to take on The Fam in a Six Man Tag, then things split off so Archer VS Kingston goes down as an unofficial contender’s match or something, to at least the TNT Championship.

My Score: 9.1/10

The Inner Circle rolls into Daily’s Place!

Chris Jericho in a black Lamborghini, Jake Hager in a Chevy Silverado, Sammy Guevara in a Range Rover, Santana in a Dodge Ram, Ortiz in a Porsche, and motorcycle entourage escorting them in! Y2J, Big Hurt, the Spanish God and the Proud ‘n’ Powerful are returning to AEW in style! But with The Pinnacle somewhere in the building and Mike Tyson expected to return, who’s getting taken out first?!

Hangman Page VS Max Caster w/ Anthony Bowens!

Did the Anxious Millennial Cowboy hear Platinum’s new single on AEW Dark last night? Would it change what Hangman’s about to do to Max if it did? Or maybe Max’s improv rap right here will rile him up! “Hangman, you a changed man. Used to be a star, now you fadin’! Platinum, the flyest on the air, catch you slippin’ like Joe Biden on the stairs! So check the thug process. I’m dancin’ with the devil like I’m Lil’ Nas X! And you a one trick pony! Treat me like a breathalyzer and bl-” WHOA~! Bowens stops Caster there, that is a step too far. You can’t say that on TNT, Max! But either way, The Acclaimed have arrived! But then Hangman BOOTS Bowens to get him out of the ring!

Hangman fires off on Caster, the bell rings and Hangman rings Caster’s bell! He bumps Caster off buckles over and over, and over and over, then stops to stomp a mudhole! The ref counts, Hangman lets off, and Hangman walks it dry. Hangman drags Caster up, CHOPS him back to the corner, and then whips him to ropes. Hangman CLOBBERS Caster at the ropes, suplexes but Caster slips out! Caster shoves, Hangman dodges and scoops to FALL AWAY SLAM! Hangman kips up, fans fire up, and Hangman snap suplexes Caster after all! Cover, ONE!! Caster surprises Hangman but he keeps his cool as fans rally up.

Hangman CHOPS Caster to a corner, CHOPS him again, but Caster turns things around to fire off forearms! Hangman shoves Caster to BOOT him down! Hangman drags Caster up, wrenches, hits an elbow breaker then wrings Caster to stomp him down! Then he drops a BIG senton! Cover, TWO! Hangman smirks as Caster bails out and fans rally up. Bowens checks on Caster, Hangman heads over but Caster drags him out. Hangman counter punches then RAMS Caster into railing! Hangman puts Caster in, Bowens gets in Hangman’s face, but Hangman lets him be. Caster dropkicks Hangman as he enters! Caster stomps away at the ropes, catches his breath, then stomps him more!

Caster CLUBS Hangman, whips but Hangman reverses to send Caster out of the ring! Hangman runs to TRIANGLE LARIAT Caster down! And then PLANCHAS! Direct hit and down goes Caster! Hangman drags Caster up, the ref counts but Hangman CHOPS Caster! Hangman refreshes the count, whips Caster but Caster reverses to send Hangman into railing! Caster runs in but is sent onto the railing! Caster’s gonna be rapping in a higher octave! Hangman then climbs the other railing to leap and LARIAT Caster down! Bowens gets in Hangman’s face again, but Hangman shrugs him off. Hangman gets Bowens’ boombox, tosses it aside, and puts Caster in the ring.

Hangman drags Caster to the corner but Bowens threatens him with the boombox! Caster YANKS Hangman into the post! The ref is busy with Caster and Bowens RAMS Hangman into railing! Bowens puts Hangman in, Caster WRINGS him out, and then Caster throws the arm into the mat. Caster drops knees on the arm, covers, TWO! Fans rally and jeer Caster, and Hangman CHOPS! Caster CLUBS the bad arm, drags Hangman down and has a hammerlock crossface! Fans rally as Hangman endures, and Hangman fights up to arm-drag free! Caster returns but Hangman DECKS him! And again! Hangman dodges to SPINEBUSTER Caster down!

Fans fire up as Caster goes to a corner. Hangman goes corner to corner to clothesline! Hangman keeps going, Caster blocks the suplex and elbows Hangman. Caster blocks the boot, too, spins Hangman but Hangman catches Caster for the EXPLODER! Cover, TWO! Both men are down but fans fire up as Caster goes to the apron. Hangman shakes the bad arm out, goes to the apron, drags Caster up, and Alabama lifts! Caster fights for his life, gets free and BOOTS! Hangman forearms, Caster forearms back and they brawl on the edge! Caster CLUBS the bad arm, but runs into an APRON BACK SUPLEX! Fans fire up, Hangman dumps Caster down, and he goes to the apron.

Hangman climbs a corner, but Bowens is there to distract him! Caster gets in to LEAP up, steady himself, and still SUPERPLEX Hangman down! Then he gets the arm, SHANKLY GATES! Hangman endures, crawls his way forward, but Caster sits deep on the hold! Hangman gets the ropebreak with a finger! The ref counts, Caster holds on until 4! Fans rally for Hangman but Caster climbs up top. SPRINBOARD, into a LARIAT! The fans fire up, Hangman Alabama lifts, for- No! Bowens slides the boombox in! The ref obviously sees that, and Hangman picks the boombox up. The ref confiscates it, but Bowens gets Caster his chain!

Caster wraps his fist, Hangman storms over, PLATINUM PUNCH!! Cover, TWO?!?! Caster is shocked but the fans are thunderous! Caster hurries up top, takes aim, MIC DROP FLOPS! Hangman dodges and gets to the apron! Caster staggers up, Hangman slingshots to- No, Bowens anchors him! Hangman mule kicks Bowens, BOOTS Caster, and then ASAI MOONSAULTS Bowens down! Hangman reloads and aims again, BUCKSHOT! Cover, Hangman wins!

Winner: Hangman Page, by pinfall

The Cowboy secures that number one spot in the rankings! And of course, he toasts with some nearby fellow wrestlers! Will Hangman be saying cheers to a championship opportunity soon enough?

Tony Schiavone is in the ring.

AEW has great tag teams all around, but here is one of the great teams and the #1 contenders to the AEW World Tag Team Championships, DEATH TRIANGLE! PAC and Rey Fenix won the opportunity in the AEW Revolution Tag Team Battle Royal, but they and Penta El Zero Miedo all stand together with Schiavone. Their shot at the titles are coming, next week on Dynamite! They finally get their shots, but wait! The Best Friends show up? Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor and #JustTrent, with the honorary Best Friend, Kris Statlander, walk out on stage, and Cassidy gets the mic! “Y’know… It’s really nice to see all three of you together in the ring again.”

Footage plays, and it turns out to be a highlight reel of the history between these two trios! Revolution 2020 was when Death Triangle brutalized Cassidy after PAC beat him in a 1v1 match. Then on Dynamite from 5/13/2020 was when Fenix Ryder Kicks Cassidy down just because he could! Chuck says that it may have been awhile, but they still remember! Fenix laughs! These guys are crazy! Penta says it’s crazy how they’ve hold onto those moments! Pac says everyone should relax, because he understands why the Best Friend  are here. They see the writing on the wall, and want a shot at the NEW AEW World Tag Team Champions already! Well they’ve got a lot of work to do because they are FAR from worthy! So jog on and get out of here!

Oh, well, alright. Trent says he was hurt, and now Best Friends are back of the line. They’ll work their way back up, because that’s not a problem when you’re the team with more wins than anyone in this company! But anyway, Pac and Triangle can calm down. The Best Friends are just here to give them a heads up. “The boys are back in town!” Oh, and their new alien friend. Fans fire up as the four put hands in, will the reunited Best Friends be out of this world?

Mike Tyson talks with Coach Urban Meyer.

Is Iron Mike giving or getting pointers on how to handle business?

The Inner Circle heads to the ring!

Fans again get to sing Judas for Jericho as he and the boys return officially, even though we saw them get payback on The Pinnacle last week. Jericho gets the mic first, and he says Jacksonville sounds great tonight! The Inner Circle has a lot to say after the break! Y2J knows his TV, and AEW does go to commercial!

AEW returns, fans chant for Inner Circle and Jericho says they ARE the Inner Circle, and they are Back in Black, baby! “And it was only one short month ago that we were in this ring and given the beatdown of a lifetime by the Pineapple.” Sammy whispers a correction to Jericho, The Pinnacle. And that beatdown taught them a lot. It gave them hospital stays, it gave them stitches, but it gave them a wake-up call. It revealed to them that they’d made a lot of bad decisions over the last six months, that hurt and insulted a lot of people. For that, Jericho apologizes to those people and to the fans.

But all those decisions were on MJF, aka “My Jerkoff Friend.” And My Jerkoff Friend says he outsmarted the Inner Circle, mostly because he’s smarter than Jericho. And that’s true, Jericho isn’t the smartest in a few areas. High school chemistry, terrible. His teacher even asked after a second failed test, “Are you on dope?” An exact quote! Jericho wasn’t, he just wasn’t good in Chemistry. But who is? What Jericho is smart in is pro-wrestling! That is why he brought My Jerkoff Friend into the Inner circle. Not to take him under his wing, but to keep him under his thumb.

Jericho knows how dangerous My Jerkoff Friend is and how talented he is, and how much personality and potential he has. Jericho wanted to use him for all of that, and suck the life out of him into the Inner Circle. They had it all perfectly planned, and knew that MJF would eventually show his true colors. They were ready to kick MJF’s ass, but they didn’t think he’d be a step ahead. They got outsmarted by a man who can do everything except for put on a spray tan. Last week, MJF was oranger than Cassidy and had more streaks than that toilet bowl Jericho shoved his face into! Jericho can’t wait to swirly him again! Fans chant “Swirly! Swirly!”

MJF is only 25 years old! When Jericho was 25, he was still having wet dreams! But MJF at 25 is at the pinnacle of pro-wrestling. See what he did there? But here’s the thing! MJF, you consider yourself a fine wine, that he’ll get better with age. But he doesn’t want to wait for the aging, he wants it all now! He wants to be better than The GOAT, Chris Jericho, now. Those are big, big shoes to fill, MJF. You gotta go smaller, take baby steps. Be better than Peter Avalon, or Michael Nakazawa, or “that stupid Burberry scarf you’ve been wearing for a few years. It’s tired, it’s old, it’s stale, and it sucks!” Time to change it up, MJF! Plus, Jericho was rocking the scarf look a few years ago, so if you’re better than Jericho, why is he stealing Jericho’s shit?

But Jericho has an old clipboard in the back if MJF wants to add it to the list of things he’s stolen from Jericho! Y’see, MJF isn’t as good as he thinks he is, and he believes his own hype. Jericho sees MJF listening to the critics and the fans online. MJF would bee-line after every match or promo he’s ever had just to check what people thought! That’s called “Being a mark.” But Jericho makes it “being a Max,” because Max is a mark for himself! The true issue is that MJF knows he will never, ever be better than Jericho. He will never be better than Jericho, and you know it. That’s because Jericho is a true fine wine that has aged and fermented and soured.

Speaking of sour, just look at the men My Jerkoff Friend has aligned with! Tully Blanchard! He’s the greatest mind in pro-wrestling history? Really? No, he’s the third-string member of the Four Horsemen, stuck between Ole Anderson and Paul Roma. Then there’s FTR! They would be one of the best tag teams in the world today, but they’re completely interchangeable! Which one is which? It’s like the AEW version of The Jonas Brothers, where you know they’re good, you know they make money, but you don’t know any of their names! Is that Dax? Cash? Ax? Smash? Axel? Slash? “I DON’T KNOW!!”

And then of course, there’s Shawn Spears. Such a great upside, so they say, but Jericho’s never seen it. All Jericho has is the number on his phone from when Spears called him after getting fired from “The Fed” 10 years ago, asking for advice. Spears aligning himself with My Jerkoff Friend is about as good a move as rocking the blonde mohawk in 2021. And then there’s Wardlow! Of of course! A million dollar body with a 13 cent brain, and guess what? He’s so dumb, he has to strip naked to count to 21! Think about it, Jericho’s seen him do it. But compared to the Inner Circle, the NEW Inner Circle that will dominate AEW once more but with the fans all behind them, The Pinnacle is good, can beat the crap out of them, but who cares?! The Inner Circle loves to fight!

The bottom line is, the Inner Circle will shove the faces of The Pinnacle up each other’s asses and form a human centipede, with MJF in the back! “You want blood? You want violence? You got it!!” They’ve been waiting for a match since March 25th of last year! Why play grab ass anymore? You want blood and violence? You get it! May 5th, right here at Daily’s Place, for the first time ever, Pinnacle VS Inner Circle, BLOOD AND GUTS!! The Inner Circle is back in black, and now that they’re back, they will kick the ever living shit out of the Pinnacle! “The worst is yet to come, God help you for it!!” FINALLY, the match the world has wanted to see! Will MJF’s future be nothing but suffering for what he has done?

Backstage interview with Christian Cage.

Dasha congratulates Captain Charisma on his victorious AEW in-ring debut. So then, how is he feeling? And what’s next? Christian says last week “was the culmination of an entire year of me scratching, clawing, and grinding in complete solitude for that very moment of stepping through those ropes, kneeling down, kissing that canvas, and taking back what was taken from me seven years ago.” Now he can’t talk about last week without talking about his opponent, Frankie Kazarian. Kaz took him to the deep waters, and pushed him so far down. Christian’s lungs were on fire, and he loved every single second of it!

Fans were in awe of Kaz’s performance, but not Christian, because Christian has always known what Kaz is about. Kaz knows that Christian isn’t like everyone else. When you step into the ring with Christian, you have to bring it up another level. Christian makes others level up! But then Taz interrupts and says for those who don’t know, these two have known each other for a long time. That all said, seven years is a long time. Taz has a team that can help Christian get where he wants to be, so Taz will just get right to his offer: Christian can join Team Taz! They can all help each other, and a guy with Christian’s wealth of knowledge would be a great help.

And before Christian can say too much first, Taz won’t put him on the spot. Christian can sleep on it. Will Captain Charisma choose to join the Path of Rage?

Jurassic Express VS Bear Country!

Two forces of nature will collide, but #OneWillFall. Godzilla VS Kong is in theaters, but here is a pretty good teaser right here! Will Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus represent for the reptiles? Or will the burly Boulder & Bronson bring the heat on behalf of warm-blooded beasts everywhere?

AEW hears from QT Marshall.

In reference to Cody Rhodes, “Your mantra should be, ‘Do the work for me.‘ Whether it’s creating this incredible training facility, or carrying your broken down brother through whatever career he had left, ever since the beginning of our ‘friendship,’ all I’ve ever done is do work for you.” QT is sick of the narrative Cody is creating about how he was going out of his way to help QT, but leaving QT dead in the water before he ever got started. Cody wants to doubt QT Marshall’s credentials? Let’s talk about those credentials for a minute. Cody was second fiddle to Ted (DeBiase) Jr, then went hiding behind face paint because even as “Dusty’s kid,” he knew he’d never amount to shit.

But Cody “figured it out” at some point. He got on the indies, surrounded himself with “vanilla midgets,” and felt like the star he knew he’d never be. But QT has surrounded himself with men. Hungry, sick and tired of waiting in the shadows, and that can trust QT and QT can trust back. Because unlike “Bargain Brand Sting,” QT isn’t worried about other people’s success. Aaron Solow, “who will never be known as ‘just somebody’s boyfriend.'” Nick Comoroto, who isn’t just some “body guy.” And Anthony Ogogo, who is a household name in the UK! A mainstream fighter and star! The British follow his career and cheer every punch. Ogogo does Subway commercials for business and knocks people out for fun!

But this ain’t Great Britain, this is “Shitty” America! So all you Yanks are gonna learn soon enough who Ogogo is. QT tells Cody that this is HIS goddamn factory now! Comoroto splashes the Nightmare Factory logo on the wall with blue paint, and this fearsome foursome has left its mark! Will others join them? Or will they simply know not to side with The Prince of Pro-Wrestling?

AEW returns with Schiavone on stage.

This never gets old for Tony. Once again on Dynamite, “It’s STIIIIIIIING~!” The snow, the crow and the Icon! A lot to unpack with the TNT Championship coming up, but Jake the Snake interrupts. “This is not the way we do it. You remember! How can you forget? It’s only been what? Seven days?” They start, Snake and Archer interrupt, Sting does nothing and keeps his mouth shut, or maybe just shuts his hole. Where’s his little gerbil friend, by the way? Yes, he’s a gerbil. But they say insanity is doing the same thing over and expecting a different result, and Snake is a crazy son of a bitch so he should know!

But Archer interrupts now and says this is enough. If that’s insanity, then Snake isn’t the only crazy one, Archer’s “one sick son of a bitch!” And Archer is sick and tired of the AEW agenda! Bring Archer in, bring him to the top, but then send him away. He fights Moxley, then goes away. He works main event after main event, then he goes away. He’s done with that! The world will pay attention to the Murderhawk Monster, and Sting will pay attention closely. This is Archer’s time! Archer should be getting the interviews! Sting doesn’t need to talk because this is Archer’s time! But then Sting snatches the mic away!

“Now it’s MY time!” Then say something! He’d say something if Archer would be slow to speak and quick to listening. Zip up and understand that Sting AGREES! Archer is a main event guy, but then he disappears, and Sting doesn’t understand it, either! Snake, what’s wrong with you? What’s that dumbfounded face for? Tell Archer how to do it! Or maybe just shut your hole now. Sting says Archer IS main event material, he has “it,” but Snake needs to actually help him! Help Archer channel this in the right direction and then he will be in that ring on TNT in a main event, maybe even for the world title, without disappearances. Just make it happen! Make it showtime! If you’ve got it in you, go do it!

Sting storms off, but All Ego, Ethan Page, and the Face of the Revolution, Scorpio Sky, are watching from the bleachers. They don’t seem to see it Sting’s way, but what is Archer’s response? Archer storms off, too, with Snake following. With Ethan and Scorpio have their own input on this?

Team Taz speaks.

But before Taz himself can say anything, Ricky Starks speaks up and wants to start by saying AEW Dark was great! They got the win thank to Brian Cage! And as the winner, let’s hear from Cage! Taz speaks up and says no, not this time. Starks instigated, he isn’t going to get away with it this week. Will Hobbs wants to say something but Taz already knows what he’ll say. Everyone just needs to chill out, get on the same page. Starks, stop instigating. But they’ve got to be real smart, because they’ve got an offer to a real blue chipper in Christian Cage. That could happen! Starks says absolutely. But will they be able to handle having two Cages on the same team? Or will they end up with no Cages in no time?

Cover, TWO!, and AEW goes picture in picture.

JD stalks Darby, drags him up, chokes him on the ropes, but lets off as the ref counts. JD waits for Darby to get up, then brings him around to ROCK him with a right! Darby is in the corner, he climbs back up but JD ROCKS him first! JD climbs up now, but Darby SLAPS him! JD SLAPS, it’s a SLAP fight up top! But then Darby grabs a hand to BITE it, and hits a SUPER CODE RED!! JD is in a drop zone, Darby goes up top, COFFIN DROP!! Cover, Darby wins!

Schiavone interviews Britt Baker (and Rebel) backstage.

The Doctor has a special announcement, and a small request for Tony Khan. “Tony, give the people what they want already!” A championship match for The Doctor! But she’s ranked fourth, there are others ahead of her. Yeah, let’s talk about those rankings. The win-loss system is UTTER CRAP! Championship opportunities should be based on star power, merchandise sales, and the demographic scores, which Britt is at the top of the food chain. It’s not her fault she had to waste a year putting respect on the women’s division and make history. But like a true Role Model, she will fix the broken system, climb up the rankings, and pretend like it actually matters.

So make sure to tune into Dynamite, Dark and Elevation where you will see The Doctor getting those wins up. Signed yours truly, Britt Baker DMD. Will Britt “expose” the AEW system for what it is?

The Bunny w/ The Hardy Family Office VS Tay Conti w/ The Dark Order!

Things may have calmed down from that brawl earlier, but there’s madness just below the surface when it comes to Allie the Bunny. But to counter the HFO being ringside, the Brazilian Blackbelt has not only the Dark Order’s Preston Vance, Evil Uno, Stu Grayson and Negative One, but she has Hikaru Shida with her! Cover, Tay wins!!

The champion helps her #1 contender, because it’s more about respect than anything! Will these friendly rivals become friendly opponents soon enough?

AEW sets up next week’s big episode of Dynamite!

After calling Darby out on Elevation and Dark, then being part of the attack on him tonight, Matt Hardy gets his shot at the TNT Championship, in a Falls Count Anywhere match! Will Big Money Matt strike gold in Daily’s Place? Then, as we learned earlier tonight, the Young Bucks will defend the AEW Tag Team Championships against Death Triangle’s PAC & Rey Fenix! The Bastard & Firebird were put on notice by Best Friends, but will the titles be part of the mix? And now that he is firmly part of QT’s cell, Anthony Ogogo finally has his AEW in-ring debut! Is Ogogo gonna knock out whoever is put in his path?

And speaking of “finally,” Red Velvet and Jade Cargill go 1v1 so settle the score! Jade won in the mixed tag, but will she pull off sweet victory all on her own? Or will Velvet get her sweet revenge? In fact…

“Jade, I finally figured out what your deal is with me. Why you keep looking for me.” It’s because Jade knows that on the night she beat Velvet on national television, Jade knew then and there that she barely got the job done! Jade calls herself #ThatBitch? Then be #ThatBitchWhoGetsTheJobDone!

ONE MORE big match has been made for next week!

After the news of Blood & Guts finally happening, and after Mike Tyson stood alongside the Inner Circle, there’s a huge sampler to whet our appetites! Mike Tyson will be special guest enforcer as Chris Jericho with just Sammy Guevara ringside takes on Dax Hardwood with just Cash Wheeler by his side! That’s right, the rest of the Inner Circle and Pinnacle will be BANNED from ringside during this match to keep this as far as possible! Will Jericho and Tyson rewrite the mistakes of the past together?

Six Man Tag: Kenny Omega & The Good Brothers VS Jon Moxley & The Young Bucks!

Did anyone ever imagine the Elite ending up like this? Will there be any going back from this? Or have the bonds between the Best Bout Machine and the Jackson brothers been severed forever?

When will this emotional roller coaster with the Elite end?

My Thoughts:

Another great episode for Dynamite, and they’re clearly making a big deal out of no longer having a Wednesday Night War in their way. We’re getting a big episode next week with some good groundwork paved for it tonight, as well as for several more Wednesdays down the line. The first is that we are getting the tag title match now, but Best Friends are starting up their feud with Death Triangle again, with or without the titles. Given how tonight ended, I don’t know if PAC & Fenix win over these solidly Heel Bucks, but getting trios matches out of Death Triangle and Best Friends would still be awesome to see anyway.

We also got some great promos that put in some worked shoot material. Sting actually telling Archer he should be a top guy was great, because it is just as true as he and Archer said. This was also a good twist because where I thought we were getting Heel Archer going against Sting and/or Darby, this could flip Archer back towards a Face direction, and he’ll be taking on Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky, since they got cameos in the segment. QT’s promo with his unnamed faction was really good, and I am intrigued to see Ogogo finally get in the ring. Jericho’s promo tearing into MJF and The Pinnacle was an all time great, and is definitely going to be AEW’s best for this entire year. The brawl that followed and Tyson being with Inner Circle is great, as will Blood & Guts FINALLY happening!

Britt Baker’s promo was also good worked shoot adjacent, where she points out how AEW’s win loss record stuff doesn’t work. But instead of saying gimmick matches and tournaments and things are the problem, her character wants to make this into the (WWE) popularity system. This will make for a nice detail of her story as she racks up wins against lower level opponents, much like she’s already started with on Dark and Elevation, and then maybe she gets too cocky and lets one get a quick win off her, thereby ruining her run at the top spot. Plus, it feels like there’s a great story already in the works for Tay and Shida.

We got good intertwining of Darby’s story with Hardy and the Dark Order’s story with Hardy, and how Tay can fit into that against Bunny. Darby VS JD was great stuff, and then there was the great segue of the attack by the HFO, and how Tay and Bunny brawled then had their own solid match. Shida VS Tay is going to be big, and at this rate, could go either way because Tay is a hot hand right now. I’m surprised there wasn’t intertwining with Hangman, but given his great match with Caster to lock in as #1, maybe AEW is going to shift him towards the world title soon. I am also surprised Caster is getting the greenlight on his lyrics but I am not complaining, either.

We got an awesome main event with that 3v3, with great story of the Bucks unable to proverbially pull the trigger on Omega. The Bucks might be coming off a bit too wishy-washy, because they did the group Too Sweet but they then get up set at Callis but now they do this because they just can’t bring themselves to hate Omega. I guess the Biz Cliz can roll as a bigger group, with any number of possibilities given the growing partnerships with Impact and NJPW. But for just AEW, is there a chance Moxley and Kingston can get Death Triangle to side with them for just long enough to take on Omega’s group? Kingston may have been manipulating the Lucha Bros just months ago, but they all have common enemies in Omega and The Bucks. Plus, that’s a wild combination there that needs to be in a match together.

Six Man Tag: The Dark Order VS Jake St. Patrick, Sage Scott & Chandler Hopkins!

While John Silver recovers, and after Max Caster beat Colt Cabana on Elevation, Evil Uno, Stu Greyson & Alex Reynolds combine forces on classic Dark! But will they truly be a 1-2-3 combination?

The bell rings, Hopkins leads the charge but gets run over by Stu! JSP and Scott get around Uno and Reynolds, but then Uno and Reynolds BOOT them down! Things sort out now and Stu drags Hopkins up. Hopkins swings a hand but gets ROCKED for it! Stu OVERHEAD Belly2Belly suplexes Hopkins to the corner, tags in Reynolds, and Reynolds fires off EuroUppers! Hopkins wobbles but back kicks low. Reynolds ends up in a corner, Hopkins runs in but Reynolds dodges, and comes back with a forearm smash! Reynolds runs to LEAPING ELBOW! Hopkins staggers into a dropkick! Reynolds handsprings up, fans fire up and Reynolds brings Hopkins over.

Tag to Uno, Uno tags Stu, and Stu whips Uno for Uno to whip Stu and forearm smash! Drop toehold to basement dropkick, then Stu paces around. Stu drags Hopkins up but Hopkins flapjack hotshots! Tag to Scott and he RAMS Stu into the corner! Scott fires off forearms and uppercuts on Stu, then tags JSP and JSP runs in to uppercut! JSP snapmares and basement EuroUppers! Cover, TWO! JSP brings Stu up, back kicks, front kicks but Stu ducks the roundhouse to URENAGE! Tag to Uno, JSP tags Hopkins but Uno rallies on everyone! BOOT for Hopkins, then Uno blocks Scott’s boot to throw him down and stomp the hands!

Uno basement dropkicks Scott out of the ring, then catches Hopkins for an END OF DAYS! Tag to Stu, Uno scoops Hopkins, and Reynolds tags in before the ELBOW SIDEWALK SLAM! The OG feed Hopkins to Reynolds for a POP-UP KNEE! Fisherman for the CRADLE DRIVER! Cover, The Dark Order win!

Winners: The Dark Order, by pinfall

And indeed, Players One, Two and Three get the 1-2-3! Will they continue to stand strong, even with enemies closing in on all sides?

Ryan Nemeth, Cezar Bononi & JD Drake talk backstage.

Beautiful Bononi tells the Hollywood Hunk that this was his idea, and Bononi already said it is “humanly impossible,” so it is all on Nemeth. Nemeth says he needs two wingmen! And this guy will be perfect! They can mold him into something hot, sexy, beautiful, bold, supple! Amazing! JD likes that word but what does “supple” mean? Nemeth says they aren’t going to change who he is, they accept him for who he is, but- JD says he may speak slow with an accent, but he’s not an idiot. These are sounding like fat jokes.

Nemeth says it’s just about going from having the rugged beard to a nice mustache, or bleaching his hair and styling it. Just something to make him sexier. What’s sexier than a hard-working, blue collar badass? Well, we’ll see. Wingmen on three. One, two… Okay only Nemeth is into it, that’s fine. He wants them to know he loves ’em and he’ll see them out there. Will Pretty Peter Avalon’s boys be able to pull it off?

Six Man Tag: Team Taz VS Justin Law, Hayden Backlund & Brick Aldridge!

The Absolute, the Machine and the Powerhouse won their first match as a trio, but it was a bit… tense. Will Team Taz still (not) be fine after another try?

The trios sort out, with Team Taz arguing a little, and Cage gets the team to let him start. Cage starts against Law, and runs him right over! Cage drags Law back up, whips him to a corner but Law goes up and over, only to get caught! Law flails and gets free, dodges Cage and tilt-o-whirls, only for Cage to TOSS him away! Brick tags in, circles with Cage, and fans rally up as the two tie up. Cage gets to a headlock, Brick powers out to a hammerlock then a headlock, but Cage powers out. Brick rams Cage but Cage comes back to ram and ROCK Brick! “Who betta?!” Starks cheers a little too much as Cage whips Brick. Brick reverses but Cage tilt-o-whirls to headscissor!

Cage waits for Brick to get up, then he back kicks and snap suplexes! Cage runs to drop a leg, brother! Cage hauls Brick up, looks at Starks, and tags Hobbs in. Hobbs and Cage mug Brick but Starks lets that slide since he did the same to Cage. Hobbs boxes Brick from all sides, then whips him to ropes. Brick dodges and rams Hobbs! Hobbs staggers but smiles, to then hit a SPINEBUSTER! Hobbs grins wider as he drags Brick up. Hobbs wants a tag, Starks makes sure he gets it first. They mug Brick now, then Starks ROCKS Brick. Brick shoves Starks down and tags in Backlund! Backlund fires off on Starks, then dodges to CLOBBER him!

Fans fire up as Backlund has Starks in the corner! Starks shoves Backlund, DECKS Law, them puts Backlund up and out, and Backlund accidentally elbow drops Law! Starks shoves Backlund in, drags him up and CHOPS, then ROCKS him! Starks plays things up too long and Backlund BOOTS him! Backlund climbs up, leaps and crossbodies, but into Starks’ arms! The ref is busy with this and Hook trips Brick off the apron! Starks adjusts Backlund’s position for the ROSHAMBEAUX! Starks asks if Cage wants to finish this off, then tags him in. Cage drags Backlund back up, and gets him up for the DRILL CLAW! Cover, Team Taz wins!

Winners: Team Taz, by pinfall

Well that seemed rather magnanimous of Starks. Though, he sure is leaning into cheering Cage on… But either way, the team won because they’re #AbsoluteMachines! Who can stop the path of rage?

Jurassic Express VS Rex Lawless & Dean Alexander!

Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus are preparing for a kaiju class collision on Dynamite with Bear Country, so they’re gonna represent for Team Godzilla! Will The Pectoral Poseidon and The Sensation make for a good warm-up before the war of the monsters on Wednesday?

The teams sort out and Alexander starts with JB. JB and Alexander circle, tie up, and JB hammerlocks to a headlock. Alexander powers out, comes back but JB headlocks to takeover. Alexander headscissors, JB moves around to pop free and then rolls Alexander back to whip. Alexander reverses, JB dodges and waistlocks, Luchasaurus tags in before the O’Conner Roll. JB gets Alexander up and Luchasaurus BOOTS him into the GERMAN SUPLEX! Lawless tags in and he rams Luchasaurus! Luchasaurus doesn’t budge and he CHOPS back! Lawless brings down the straps and eggs Luchasaurus on. Luchasaurus CHOPS, Lawless BOOTS! Lawless fires up but gets caught for a KNEE!

Luchasaurus whips Lawless to the corner, fires off, and tags in JB. Lawless staggers into the choke grip, and the CHOKE SLAM! Luchasaurus TAIL WHIPS Alexander, BUZZSAWS Lawless, JB BLINDSIDE ELBOWS! Cover, Jurassic Express wins!

Winners: Jurassic Express, by pinfall

The King of the Monsters would be proud! Will the boy and his dinosaur win one for Godzilla on Dynamite?

Ryan Nemeth w/ JD Drake VS Fuego Del Sol!

The Hollywood Hunk rolls with one of his wingmen and looks to be hotter than even the Fire of the Sun. Will the Blue Collar Badass be there for him, no matter what?

The bell rings and Nemeth and Fuego circle. Fans rally for Fuego as he and Nemeth tie up. Nemeth drops to fireman’s carry takeover, and JD says that’s two points! Nemeth and Fuego reset, Nemeth gets around to waistlock, then throws Fuego down! Another two points! Nemeth taunts Fuego and rubs in the fact he has a 4-0 lead that doesn’t even matter here. Fuego gets him back with arm-drag after arm-drag! Fuego then dodges, tilt-o-whirls and arm-drags again! Fuego grinds Nemeth, twists the wrist, and then kicks the arm! And again! And again and again and again! Fuego gives one last KICK, then wrenches through to a wristlock.

Fuego whips, Nemeth reverses and runs in but Fuego elbows him away! Fuego goes up, hops over and victory rolls to get the legs! Fuego has an inverted surfboard, for the PENDULUM! Nemeth endures, Fuego drops him down hard and body scissors him to a cover, TWO! Fuego hurries up top, fans fire up and he leaps, but no tornado! Nemeth TOSSES Fuego out of the ring hard! JD laughs at Fuego’s pain, and Nemeth goes out to stomp Fuego down. Nemeth puts Fuego in, covers, TWO! Nemeth rains down fists on Fuego then stomps him. Nemeth grinds Fuego’s face into the mat, hammerlocks the arm and twists the arm. Fuego endures, even as Nemeth handstands on the hold!

Nemeth drops to add torque, then he claws Fuego’s face! The ref counts, Nemeth lets off and has Fuego in a corner. Nemeth whips Fuego corner to corner hard, then shows off the hips and thighs. Nemeth runs in to RAM Fuego, then throws in knee after knee! Nemeth drags Fuego up again, back suplexes just to carry Fuego around, then DROPS him! Cover, TWO!! Fuego survives and Nemeth grows frustrated. Nemeth clamps on with a mounted cobra clutch and pulls Fuego back. Fuego endures, Nemeth brings him up, and fans rally as Fuego fights free. Fuego throws body shots, KICKS a leg, then KICKS an arm! Nemeth blocks a kick, flips Fuego but Fuego ENZIGURIS!

Fuego reels Nemeth in but Nemeth wrenches through to fireman’s carry. Fuego fights and gets the arm, then has the dragon sleeper for a BACKBREAKER! Nemeth gets up, Fuego runs in but is put out on the apron! Fuego hotshots the arm! Fuego calls for it, springboards, but into a DROPKICK! Nemeth gets Fuego up for a RUDE AWAKENING! Cover, Nemeth wins!

Winner: Ryan Nemeth, by pinfall

Whatever the points were, the Hollywood Hunk finished it off so he wins either way! Will this be what shows JD that you can be groomed and gritty at the same time?

AEW Outside the Ring is almost here!

The first episode premieres this Friday at 9 AM Eastern! Who will Lexi Nair have as her first guest(s) of her new talk show?

Jon Cruz VS The Butcher w/ The Hardy Family Office!

The apparent father of SNAKEMAN is back, but he’s taking on Big Money Matt’s big, beefy brute! Will Butcher make Cruz into chuck meat in the Dark?

The bell rings, Butcher CLOBBERS Cruz in a corner, then throws off his jacket to headbutt away on Cruz! The ref counts, Butcher waits for Cruz to get up, and then he CHOPS him down! Butcher whips, then CLOBBERS Cruz again! Cover, and Butcher wins!

Winner: The Butcher, by pinfall

The Sea Stars VS Vertvixen & Jazmin Allure!

Oddly enough, Ashley Vox and Delmi Exo just teamed with the Wrestling Gamer recently and did very well, despite losing. But now the vixen teams with Allure, will they be the ones to sink the Siren and and her sister? Or will Vox and Exo reel them in, hook, line and sinker?

Cover, but Allure breaks it! Exo gets Allure and throws her out hard, then regroups with her sister. Vox runs in to uppercut Vert, then feeds her to Exo’s clinch!

EXPLODER into the drop zone, and then Exo becomes Vox’s knee-board for the SENTON! Cover, The Sea Stars win!

Winners: The Sea Stars, by pinfall

The sisters stay afloat in the rising tide! Will they use this wave of momentum to take the AEW Women’s Division by storm?

He’s the “Face of the Network!” DARBY’s the sell-out, not Matt! And when Matt gets the chance, he’ll show how extreme Big Money Matt still is! Did you just see how he leeched the life out of this underling? That’s what Hardy will do to Darby when he takes the TNT Championship! The truth is the truth, but is Hardy still wrong about The Relentless?

The Hybrid2 VS Bear Country!

Angelico & Jack Evans know Boulder & Bronson are headed for a clash of titans with Jurassic Express, but that won’t scare them off! Can TH2 keep from getting lost in Bear Country in the Dark? Or will they merely whet the appetite as the bears head for Dynamite?

Winners: Bear Country, by pinfall

Boulder & Bronson are rolling towards their showdown with Jurassic Express! But who will survive when these forces of nature collide on Dynamite?

My Thoughts:

At an hour and 16, this was a manageable episode of Dark, with a lot of short matches that were still good matches. I do like that we’re getting story progress here, such as with the new group of Nemeth, JD and Bononi, and another great new music video from Max Caster. I also like that Starks and Cage were still being passive aggressive with each other, that is good story for Team Taz there. We got good tune-ups for Jurassic Express and Bear Country going into their match on Dynamite, but I would feel like Jurassic Express wins because they’ve been the hot hand for some time.

My Score: 8.1/10
