We will never forget it was you who stepped forward when we needed you most. We are humbled by your service, and we are forever grateful for your courage.” To these sons, daughters, fathers and mothers. To the brave men and women of the Army, the Navy, the Marines, the Air Force, the Coast Guard, and now Space Force, we remember and say, “Thank you.”
NXT North American Championship: Johnny Gargano VS ???
Johnny Wrestling is already in the ring as he welcomes us to the show! And he welcomes us to Gargano’s Wheel of Challengers! Lalala~! Fans chant “Your Wheel Sucks!” but Gargano says they shouldn’t talk about his wheel like that. Gargano says to respect the wheel! At Halloween Havoc, he made history by becoming the first-ever TWO-TIME North American Champion! The first time, he held the title until his first defense, and lost. That was just bad luck. But the same thing happened with the NXT Championship: “First defense, title go bye-bye. That’s not bad luck, that’s a curse! I’m cursed, I tell ya!”
But tonight, Gargano says with help from a very special friend in the wheel, he will reverse the curse! “With one spin, someone will get the opportunity of a lifetime! And I show the world, where there’s a wheel, there’s a way.” Let’s spin! The! WHEEL~! Gargano tries to get fans to chant that but they’re not really up for that. Gargano spins the wheel, it goes past “Roddy,” Thatcher, Kushida, Kyle, Dream, Cole, Escobar, Ciampa, Priest, Grimes, Bronson, Lumis and Pete, to teeter totter onto Leon Ruff! The wheel is weighted!! “Totally unpredictable!” Gargano is “amazed” that Ruff gets a shot! “Leon Ruff, c’mooooon down~!” Ruff definitely has the opportunity of a lifetime, he’s not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. But will Ruff be used to break the curse?
The bell rings, the fans are on Ruff’s side, but then Gargano fakes Ruff out on the approach. Ruff falls, but Gargano lets him have time to fix his knee pad. Gargano drags Ruff up, fireman’s carries, and TOSSES him down! Gargano double guns and mockingly hits a home run. Winner: Leon Ruff, by pinfall (NEW NXT North American Champion)
WHAT?! Ruff wins his first title in the WWE!! Even he is shocked! Priest is laughing at Gargano because the curse is still a thing! Priest helps Ruff put the belt on, but it’s a little too big for him… Well they can worry about that later. Will the unlikeliest of underdog champions reach new heights as the new champion?
NXT returns with the backstage celebration for Leon Ruff!
GM William Regal is there to congratulate Ruff. Ruff feels so good! Priest says this is great and all, but he warns Ruff that “Little Johnny” is gonna barge in all pissed and kick Ruff’s ass. So Priest gives Ruff the keys to his Challenger so he can make a getaway! Ruff hurries off and Gargano does barge in. Gargano says this is Priest’s fault, but Regal and refs keep this from turning into a fight. Priest says Gargano IS cursed, because the way he just choked was incredible! Gargano is only angrier now, but Regal warns Gargano to cool off. Gargano tells Regal to do his job! Whose idea was that out there? Priest tells Gargano, “It was YOURS, you idiot!” Gargano says everyone knows he hates wheels! Gargano is in denial, and there was no contract so this has to be reversed! But will the only way to take the title back is to take it back in a match?

Dexter Lumis is drawing a new piece of art.
In a rather cartoony interpretation of the Haunted House of Terror match, Lumis has drawn Cameron Grimes running away from the zombie referee. Pictures are worth a thousand words, but will Grimes have something to say should he see this masterpiece for himself?
Shotzi Blackheart finally responds to Candice LeRae’s actions.
“Candice didn’t just destroy my tank. She destroyed a piece of me. That tank represents who I am. It represents every challenge that I have overcome in life.” It wasn’t just some cool thing she rode to the ring. That tank represents freedom, as well as family she has in the military right now. Candice, I’m looking to kick your ass!!” Will Shotzi have a chance to take her shot at the Poisoned Pixie soon enough?

The Spicy has been rather sour lately. Her letters as delivered by Boa have been from her family, but the exact contents are personal and therefore secret. But what isn’t a secret as that she’s grown desperate to compete and even more desperate to win. But is she trying too desperately going after “Big Mami Cool,” #RickyDesperado?

“Five years, man.” It took Fandango and Tyler Breeze five years, but they finally became champions in WWE. And they worked way too hard to have it stolen by Pat McAfee! He’s not even really part of NXT! McAfee isn’t a wrestler, he doesn’t understand what they do. Tonight won’t be the fun loving Breezango. They did it once, they’ll do it again. Backstage interview with Johnny Gargano.
Gargano is hesitant outside of William Regal’s office. Gargano says he has cooled off, so now he is here to calmly talk with Mr. Regal about what happened. He knocks on the door, Regal answers, and Gargano says he is calm and cool. Gargano wants Regal to know that the match with Ruff should be thrown out, even reversed. It’s the right thing to do. But it was Gargano’s idea to have that match, so Regal has to let it stand. “Are you freakin’ kidding me?!” So much for calm and cool. Gargano admits he RIGGED the wheel! “It was a joke! A goof! I’m still the North American Champion! Everybody knows that!” No, the decision stands. The curse lives on and Ruff is the champion. Gargano loses what was left of his cool, but will he have no choice but to accept the consequences of his actions?
Tommaso Ciampa speaks.
“I am approaching 16 years in this industry. And over that time, I’ve come across some tough guys. Hell, I still remember early in my career training with guys like Killer Kowalski and Harley Race.” But if you want to talk about tough men, the funny thing about Killer and Harley was that they never told you how tough they were. “They didn’t have to. You just knew. But times have certainly changed.” Ciampa looks around and apparently, everyone’s tough. Don’t believe him? Just ask them. Everyone here has no problem telling you how tough they are. But maybe that’s just the world we live in. “Complain, and get rewarded. Bark loud enough for long enough and people being to fear your bite. Actions, without consequence.”
Maybe Ciampa’s just old school. He never thought he’d be the last of a dying breed. But he told us a couple week sago and he’ll tell us again now. “This culture, this 2020 locker room,” it’s going to change. Ciampa will be that change.
NXT presents Prime Target: Shirai VS Ripley!
“Walking into Raymond James Stadium feels like a lifetime ago” for the Aussie Nightmare. She was genuinely excited, going into WrestleMania at just 23 years old and as THE NXT Women’s Champion. It was supposed to be the biggest night of her life with 80+ THOUSAND people. But then we all know what happened: pandemic means lockdown, and that means no crowd, no energy, no emotion. And in the end, no title. Charlotte Flair took the title from her and was Queen of NXT once more.
Two months later, NXT was In Your House, and Io Shirai was our champion! “When you are a disciplined champion, you do not have emotions. You do not have setbacks. You do not have failure.” Shirai does not look back. “Every challenger has learned. Every opponent has realized.” Shirai stops momentum cold. She beats the best because she IS the best. Rhea, it took you some time to recover from WrestleMania. But Shirai isn’t afraid of nightmares.
“Everyone thought that that loss would define me. Everyone thought that I was a quitter. Rhea Ripley doesn’t quit!” She took out Mercedes Martinez, Dakota Kai, Raquel Gonzalez, but now it’s time for Shirai. Shirai thinks Rhea is emotional but who cares what she thinks? Rhea’s trainers now she is more determined and focused and even more confident. Shirai is a special talent, but when the lights are on and it’s time to perform, “there ain’t nobody ****ing better” than Rhea. Shirai says Rhea will hit that “same emotional low again when I defeat you!” But Rhea says in one week, she takes that title back, whether Shirai likes it or not! We finally see Evil Genius VS Mosh Pit Kid 1v1 next week!
Pat McAfee and the Kings of NXT are here!
He and Pete Dunne accompany Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan to the ring in preparation for the tag title main event! Undisputed Era fans boo the hardest but these four shrug that off, especially after what they did to Killian Dain last week. McAfee says “that was absolutely gorgeous to relive. And for the past two weeks, I think it should be recognized that Pete Dunne has been an absolutely TERROR to this brand!” Chair to the back of Kyle O’Reilly! Front door to “big hairy Irish bastard’s face!” This is the best four man group in the history of pro-wrestling!
As McAfee was in his private jet, flying down to the “hell hole” that is Orlando, Florida, getting tweets from Tom Brady while learning McAfee’s business is now worth $150 MILLION, he almost died because they’re in the middle of a Tropical Storm. Dat sum bish turned sideways but he made it! So what was he going to tell “the dumbest community on the internet, the wrestling community,” tonight? It’s that they don’t deserve to watch “the greatest tag team on the planet” beat the hell out of Breezango while McAfee dominates commentary next to “stupid Slim Reaper,” Vic Joseph, and Bad News Barrett! “This is the greatest night in NXT history because we’re here!” McAfee does as he says, and the main event goes down after the break.
NXT Media catches up with Cameron Grimes.
Grimes seems he got the upper hand on Lumis. Yes, that’s right! He figured it out! “Listen. I ain’t afraid o’ no ghosts, or ghouls, or zombies. But I tell you what, I am man enough to say I was afraid of Dexter Lumis.” It’s those dark, creepy eyes. But then Grimes covered those eyes up and he caved him in! Now you know what’s gonna happen. Grimes has got to get going, TO~ THE~ MOON~!
Finn Balor will return!
Next week, the Prince is back to let us all know how his recovery is going! Will Balor still be our NXT Champion?

NXT returns once again, and just as Fandango and Breeze said, they are all business! And no, that doesn’t mean they’re Fashion Stock Brokers or Fashion Salesmen. Will the BritAm Brawlers learn they’re not the only ones have fought long and hard to finally be at the top?

Tag to Fandango and he clobbers Lorcan! Fandango throws a EuroUpper of his own, then whips Lorcan to ropes to elbow him down! Fandango drags Lorcan to a corner and suplexes, but Lorcan blocks to knee low. Lorcan elbows, tags Burch and they mug Fandango. Burch throws EuroUpper, but Fandango blocks bump to give haymakers and CHOPS!
Fandango brings Burch, hoists him onto the ropes to hang him out to dry, and tags Breeze in. BOOT SANDWICH! Down goes Burch and McAfee grows frustrated. McAfee asks the ref what the heck, but Breeze is after Burch on the outside. Burch scrambles away, Breeze pursues but Lorcan runs in. Breeze avoids Lorcan’s elbow but it hits Fandango! Breeze SUPER MODEL KICKS Lorcan down, then throws Burch at the feet of McAfee! Dunne steps up but the ref keeps him back as NXT goes picture in picture!
McAfee checks his teeth even though he really only came close to toppling over in his chair. Burch slowly gets up but Breeze is on him first. Breeze puts Burch in the ring, but then Dunne swipes while the ref is checking on Burch! Burch CLOBBERS Breeze then bumps him off buckles! Burch stomps a furious mudhole in, then tags Lorcan. They drag Breeze up, double wrench and double CHOP, and McAfee has gotten off commentary to be in his guys’ corner with Dunne. Lorcan brings Breeze up and around to scoop and backbreaker! Cover, TWO! Lorcan drags Breeze away, whips him to a corner hard, then tags in Burch. Burch paces around Breeze, then slaps Breeze around. Burch brings Breeze up to DECK him!
Burch sucker punches Fandango but the ref has to keep Fandango back! Burch bring Breeze up, snap suplexes him down, then drops knees! Tag to Lorcan, Lorcan brings Breeze around to a Boston Crab! Breeze endures as Lorcan sits deep! Breeze fights his way towards ropes and gets the ropebreak! The ref counts, Lorcan lets go at 4 and tags in Burch. Fans rally as NXT returns to single picture and Burch drags Breeze up. Breeze trips Burch and catapults him into buckles! Breeze crawls to the corner, hot tags to Fandango and Lorcan! Fandango dodges Lorcan, rocks Burch and rallies on Lorcan! Fandango hip tosses Burch to a neckbreaker! And then CHOPS away on Lorcan!
Fandango whips but Lorcan reverses, only for Fandango to knee smash! Lorcan dodges one lariat but not the second! FALCON ARROW! Cover, Burch breaks it! Breeze SUPER MODEL KICKS Burch down! Then he PLANCHAS, but Dunne saves Burch! McAfee laughs at “STUPID!” Breeze but Fandango FLIES to take out Burch and Dunne! Fans are fired up and McAfee is shocked! Fandango gets back in, climbs up top, but Lorcan trips him up! Lorcan climbs up top, brings Fandango up, but Fandango resists the superplex! Fandango clubs Lorcan, adjusts and sunset flips, but McAfee gets on the apron! McAfee mocks the Fandango dance, but that just distracts the ref from seeing Drake Maverick run in and ENZIGURI Lorcan! He avenges Dain as Fandango BOMBS Lorcan!
The ref sees Maverick, McAfee runs over but Maverick CANNONBALLS onto him!! Fandango is up top, FLYING LEG DROP!! Cover, TWO!! Lorcan survives and Dunne CLOBBERS Maverick! The Bruiserweight looms over Maverick while Breezango and the One Two regroup. Dunne throws McAfee into the ring as another distraction to the ref! Dunne CLOBBERS Breeze!! Hot tag to Burch, Fandango CHOPS Lorcan but Burch HEADBUTTS Fandango! Then, LONDON BRIDGE! Cover, Lorcan and Burch win!!
Winners: Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch, by pinfall (still NXT Tag Team Champions)
The Kings of NXT use their numbers to keep the gold! But Maverick returns to LEAP in and clobber Burch! But now he’s still outnumbered! They mug him 3v1 because McAfee is just directing things! They throw Maverick out and he bounces off the announce desk. But then Dunn X-PLEXES Maverick onto it! But Fandango LEAPS and takes down Lorcan! Dunne and Burch go after him, then Lorcan returns for another 3v1 mugging! Dunne throws Fandango across the desk! Breeze returns and leaps in! That’s still a 3v1 situation! The Kings of NXT bring Breeze up to toss him onto the desk! “That’s what we do!”
The referee tries to stop this but Dunne, Lorcan and Burch set Breeze up, for McAfee’s FIELD GOAL! “It’s good!” Fans boo but McAfee gives the champions their belts. Only McAfee applauds what his group is doing. “You’re looking at the greatest four man group in wresting history! We’ll do this forever if we want to!” They’re great, everyone else sucks, cheers.
My Thoughts:
A great NXT here, and studded with gold! Opening with the NXT North American Championship was great, but I will say, I was expecting something a bit different. Perhaps Ghost Face would be the one given the match, and then they parody Finger Poke of Doom and Gargano gets the easy win. Plus, Ghost Face would reveal themselves and it’d be like Austin Theory or something. Instead, a rigged wheel, a cocky Gargano getting what he deserves and Leon Ruff officially going down as a champion in NXT was a way better move. I didn’t think they’d do that when it was Ruff, but that’s what makes it even better. Gargano is great as this current Heel iteration, certainly his best work from a comedic standpoint, and I have a feeling he’ll have to get through Priest to get at Ruff.
Meanwhile, it seems NXT did go through with Indi Hartwell being Ghost Face as far as Candice’s side of things works. Shotzi had a very strong promo, Candice VS Toni was a strong match, and Candice winning with cheating surely means Toni continues to have a part in this story. I still think there were two different people posing as Ghost Face for Halloween Havoc as a nod to Scream, but many times in wrestling, ideas are scrapped for reasons we may never truly know. Candice and Indi VS Toni and Shotzi is going to be a lot of fun, but it’d mean even more if WWE would put those WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships on all shows, regardless of who is holding them.
We didn’t get Raquel VS Xia, and I suppose it really is for story reasons or else various dirt sheets and news groups would be talking about COVID concerns returning. This thing with the dragon and the mysterious old man is an interesting move. It was also fun to see Raquel beating up Boa all around ringside. Prime Target was pretty good, but not quite on the usual level. It’s also odd that they’d do one for something that isn’t TakeOver. Shirai VS Ripley next week is going to be amazing, and could again be very indicative of someone possibly going to Raw or SmackDown. And if that’s true, I feel like things lean more towards Shirai retaining. Rhea has already done so much between both NXT and NXT UK, I think Rhea needs to start blazing her trail on Raw to give Asuka some fresh competition.
The Cruiserweight Championship match caught me by surprise but it was a pretty good one. A much better match, and clearly it shows that Atlas is getting better in all parts of pro-wrestling. It is still early for him so he wasn’t going to win, and at least it wasn’t another dirty win for Escobar. I’m still hoping it’s Escobar VS Devlin to crown an undisputed Cruiserweight Champion, because I don’t see anyone else in the current division stepping up and dethroning either man. Good to hear that we’ll be hearing from Balor, I hope it’s good news. Ciampa has a good promo about toughness, so I wonder if we’re getting Balor VS Ciampa sooner rather than later.
Thatcher going after Grey only to end up in a match with Lumis was good, and their match was great, even with Grimes getting involved. Grimes’ logic of essentially blindfolding Lumis was pretty good, too. I wonder if they use that as part of the rematch from Halloween Havoc. Breezango have a good promo, and their match with Lorcan and Burch was a great main event. I’m glad Maverick got to join in as an attempt at revenge for what they did to Dain. I actually would’ve thought it’d be great if it did help Breezango win, but I suppose the comeuppance for “The Kings of NXT” has to come solely at the hands of the Undisputed Era. But a Six Man of Dunne, Lorcan & Burch VS Maverick & Breezango definitely has to happen, along with Dain coming back for revenge. That foursome can hold their own for a moment, but then we can see the triumphant return of the UE, and that is how we get to McAfee shouting, “WarGames?!”
My Score: 9/10

Andrew’s IMPACT Match Ratings & Results: 3.23.2023
The Go Home to Sacrifice! PPV this week, Mania weekend special next week! Fun times for Impact!

It’s the Go Home to Sacrifice! I think there’s definitely more than a 33 1/3% chance that I’ll at least tolerate the episode. But with all of the fun pairings with Sacrifice participants we get the potential for a ton of story beats. We also might get a clearer picture of whatever the endgame is for The Design (doubtful though).
With all that, let’s hop into the show and kick off with how Kenny King and Eddie Edwards are exactly feeling about their Frankenstein problem.

Ratings:

- Savannah Evans w/Gisele Shaw & Jai Vidal vs Deonna Purrazzo: Deonna wins via Crucifix Bomb – ** 1/4
- Masha Slamovich & Bully Ray vs Tommy Dreamer & Mickie James: Bully wins via Piledriver – ** 1/4
- Dirty Dango & Joe Hendry vs Brian Myers & Moose: Myers wins via Roster Cut – ** 1/2
Results:
The Design (Deaner, Kon, Angels w/Callihan) vs Time Machine (Alex Shelley, Kushida, Chris Sabin)
Well Kushida does enjoy mixing it up with Heavyweights…and he starts against Kon. Kushida tries to chop down the tree, gets stifled, Shelley tags in to try and assist but they both meet the brick wall of Kon. Kon tags in Deaner and Shelley is getting worked over. Blind tag from Sabin, Deaner gets spun around and kicked in the face for a quick near fall.
All six mix it up a bit before Time Machine gets the best of it, they post Angels in the corner, Hesitation Dropkick from Sabin while Angels is retrained and we get a quick tag bringing Shelley back in to work over Angels left arm. I guess you can see they made him a…one winged angel – okay no more FF7 references. I feel dirty. Kushida lays in the grounded Bow and Arrow Liger Style, and Angels is just get rocked.
Eventually Angels manages to get away from Sabin and tag in Deaner, then The Design start quick tags and stomping away on Sabin in their corner. The Design tries to set up a tandem move, Sabin manages to escape and tag in Kushida. Hot tag with a few quick spots, Running Crossbody, Pele Kick, and then Shelley comes in. They go for some Time Splitters action but Angels interrupts it, so he receives the Time Splitters tandem offense of the PK to the Arm and Kon stunned on the apron eating a Back Handspring Kick, big Dive from Kushida puts an exclamation point on the Time Machine momentum.
Commercial break, we come back to Kushida and Shelley going for the Enzuigiri/Shotei combination, but Deaner moves and Shelley kicks Kushida. Angels gets tagged in and we see The Design put some stuff together. After a Spine Buster/Frog Splash combo, they set up a Double Doomsday and finally the MCMG portion of Time Machine come in for the save. Things start breaking down into signature spams, Angels looks to have the advantage until her stumbles just a little and the triple team starts.
They look for Outatime, but Deaner breaks it up, then Callihan slides in to just protect Deaner. He even stands there and asks the Guns to hit him. So Callihan gets rocked and Kushida flies in with the Hoverboard Lock for the win.
There was a vignette for The Coven, which checks that weird IMPACT spin since they love to play in the Shadow Realm. Not bad, just not work showing in the article.
JESUS H CHRIST – they are rebranding Raj Singh as Champagne Singh? I hope this is a short lived attempt at relevance, because he is talentless. Raj was the worst part of the Desi Hit Squad and somehow he’s stuck around the longest. I don’t get it…he’s cringe, can’t cut a promo and wrestles like trash.
Savannah Evans w/Gisele Shaw & Jai Vidal vs Deonna Purrazzo
Deonna takes the offense right to Savannah, which is dumb; but Deonna does love to be the female Minoru Suzuki. By that I mean, just fighting the opponents fight for a little bit until the gameplan eventually kicks in. So it looks dumb, but let’s see if it continues to be dumb.
The match has been fairly basic, but not awful, hence why its hard for me to really highlight anything. Savannah hits some nice power moves, Jai and Gisele tend to jaw and be petty distractions but never physically get involved. Deonna tries to fire up with a few quick Chops, but Savannah puts the brakes to the that and hits a great Snap Suplex. Deonna absorbs some offense, tries to use a little bit of join manipulation and momentum to give herself a few openings. Savannah stops Deonna, goes for a Backbreaker, but Deonna counters.
Deonna runs the ropes, hits a few big Knee Lifts, Russian Leg Sweep, float over, Fujiwara…but Savannah grabs the ropes. Savannah stalls Deonna’s offense attempts, catches her with a beautiful Northern Lights Suplex Hold for 2. Full Nelson Slam attempt, Deonna drops down, rolls through, tries to use the ropes to her advantage, but Gisele and Jai finally makes their presence really felt. Deonna hits the ropes, Jai grabs her, Savannah swings, misses Deonna and wipes out Jai, Gisele eats a Pump Kick from Deonna. Deonna flies through the attempts slam, Crucifix Bomb from Deonna, and Deonna gets the pinfall.
Post match 3 on 1 beatdown begins! Deonna has no friends left, so she eats a Full Nelson Bomb and Denouement, and she’s left laying.
Flashback Moment: Sacrifice 2010, Team 3D vs Beer Money vs MCMG, #1 Contender for the TNA Tag Team Championship Match
Masha Slamovich & Bully Ray vs Tommy Dreamer & Mickie James
Dreamer and Bully circle a little, Bully tries to take a swipe at Mickie and then goads her to tag in. Bully keeps talking crap but Masha demands to be tagged in. So Masha and Mickie start off, while Mickie is trying to keep her eyes peeled for Bully while getting the best of Masha early after a Thesz Press, Sole But, Flapjack, Kip Up. But Mickie allows herself to be distracted a little, Masha returns the Sole Butt and clocks Mickie to drop her and tag in Bully. Bully talks too long before the Elbow Drop, so Mickie rolls away and Dreamer tags in. So the babyfaces are getting the best of the early going until Bully grabs Mickie’s hair as she runs the ropes while the ref is distracted.
Bully cheap shots Dreamer, tries to grab the Kendo Stick and threaten Mickie but the referee stops him. Bully starts man handling Mickie, tags Masha back in and Masha is literally whipping her around by her hair. Same time Lariats give Mickie the chance to tag out, simultaneous tags on the guys and Dreamer is doing…as hot of a tag as he can. 10 Count Punches, Bites his head, Cutter, but Masha breaks the pin. Flip, Flop and Fly in stereo, Dreamer calls for a WAZZUP, Mickie does a Diving Polish Hammer to Bully’s balls. Then Dreamer shoves Mickie and tells her to get the tables.
Masha does one of the ugliest dives I’ve ever seen on Mickie, but its effective. Bully hits a Low Blow while the referee is messing with the table, Piledriver from Bully and the Bully wins it for the team.
Masha tells Bully to set up the table after the match. Bully is about to Powerbomb Mickie, but Jordynne Grace hits the ring with a Kendo Stick. Bully turns, Jordynne hits the ropes for a Spear but Bully moves and Jordynne cuts Mickie in half.

Next week is going to be more of a hype show for Mutiverse United. There will be a few never broadcasted matches, but since its WrestleMania Weekend, that takes precedence.
Dirty Dango & Joe Hendry vs Brian Myers & Moose
Joe Hendry’s doing his usual promo after his music, but Dango also grabs a microphone which throws off Hendry a little. So when Hendry says “Say the only two words that matter” – Dango interjects with SUCK IT. Fun ways to tap dance around trademarks.
Hendry and Myers start off which actually plays nicely into the story. Hendry invoked Myers’ rematch clause, so of course he wouldn’t be opposed to mixing it up before the PPV. Dango gets tagged and tries to get Moose to dance. Moose’s leg shakes a little like he has to fight the urge to dance, and then charges at Dango. Little things like that reminds everyone that Moose is a likable performer, he’s just a heel right now, so he’s trying to ignore his fun side. Myers comes back in, Arm Trap Suplex, Tornado DDT where he kicks off of Moose who’s trying to interrupt. They wipe out Moose and Myers, Hendry puts his hands in the air for the wave, but Dango thinks it should be something else. Moves Hendry’s hands a little and then does a SUCK IT.
Off the commercial, Falcon Arrow from Dango, he tries to go to the top but Moose distracts Dango and Myers throws him off the top rope to the outside. Dango tries for the Cradle Counter Roll, but Myers blocks long enough to tag Moose. So Moose blindsides Dango before the 1 count even happens. Myers Knee Lift, holds onto Dango’s ankle and reaches to tag in Moose. So Dango is just getting totally singled out. Dango kicks Moose away, Moose tries for Go To Hell, but Dango keeps swinging, rocks Moose a little and then the Diving European Uppercut gives Dango the space he needs for the tag.
Simultaneous tags, Myers gets caught mid Crossbody, Sack of Shit from Hendry and then Joe Kips Up. Hendry tries a Trust Fall, Myers slips it, Enzuigiri, but then Hendry hits the Pop-Up Powerbomb for 2. Moose is in, Dango is in, Dango gets dumped out, Moose hits the Lights Out on Hendry. Roster Cut from Myers, 1-2-3.
Josh Alexander walks out to the ring after the Maclin/Swann shenanigans. Josh punctuates his promo with saying Maclin is afraid of failure, afraid of being a man without a purpose, afraid of being a Forgotten Son. Maclin’s music hits and he chuckles at the line and gives Josh a little kudos.
Maclin is cutting a perfect heel promo since he’s validating everything Josh said, and even presents video evidence of how much scouting he’s doing to avoid failure. However, through his validation he’s also poking holes in Josh’s confidence. Josh tries to say it changes nothing and he’s a fighting champion and tries to challenge Maclin now…because now Josh is scared. Like Frankie said, Maclin is doing it “My Way”. So he says no to the challenge and that he wants to take it in Josh’s home town.
Overall Score: 7.25/10
Now I usually get bored with promos to close a show, but they both played their parts perfectly. Josh with the strong babyface opening trying to discredit the opponent as just another victim of circumstance; but Maclin bringing the receipts like he just walked into H&R Block was beautiful. I’ve enjoyed a lot of Maclin’s run in IMPACT, but this is the cherry on the top. He NEEDS to win the title, he’s perfect since you could see in Josh’s face and body language his confidence is a little shaken.
I also appreciated a few of the little storytelling beats, like in Hendry’s match. Opening against Myers plays into the story, and then Moose hitting the Lights Out and then walking out of the ring just watching his handy work as Myers hits the Roster Cut for the win. Proves everything both men said leading up through this story. Deonna also being the best wrestler in the Knockouts division, but still not capable of beating a 3 on 1 with no friends played well towards something. It’s either going to culminate in Mickie and Deonna burying the hatchet frenemies style, or we’ll see Deonna having to evolve into a more straight forward babyface since she can’t play the heel or tweener with no friends.
The Twitter feed didn’t have the segment with The Death Dollz, but potentially writing off Taya by bringing Su Yung/Susie/Susan back works well since it gives JesSICKa a chance at an angle, Su could always side with The Coven, they can play in the paranormal nicely for a few more months. I just really hope they don’t return JesSICKa to Havok. Havok got stale and pathetic, whereas JesSICKa is entertaining both in and out of the ring.
But hey, tomorrow is Sacrifice, so watch your Steiner Math promos and strap in for the PPV!

When All Heart & The King of the Ropes needed a third man, the Whole Fox’n Show answered the call! Will this three man air force be what finally shuts up Ari Daivari, Slim J & Jeeves Kay?
The Code of Honor is upheld, though the Trustbusters do it with some snark. The trios sort out and Fox starts against Jeeves. Fans rally for Fox and he storms up on Jeeves, but Jeeves stays back. They tie up, Fox wrenches an arm to a wristlock, but Jeeves wrenches through to headlock. Fox wrenches out to hammerlock then headlock for the takeover. Jeeves headscissors but Fox kips free. La Faccion Ingobernable is on a win streak, but Supercard of Honor is coming. Will LFI be the NEW ROH World Tag Team Champions?
Caprice Coleman sits with Eddie Kingston and Claudio Castagnoli.
Caprice is with The Mad King and the Swiss Superman to talk about the last few weeks. Eddie challenged Claudio for the ROH World Championship, and Claudio denied it, saying Eddie is a man without honor. Can Claudio explain that? Well, it should be self-explanatory. But Claudio does want to apologize. Eddie does have honor, in his own way. Eddie has pride, something that has gotten in his way many times, but Eddie has honor. Claudio admits to being wrong on that. But he will still stand by his statement that someone like Eddie should not be ROH World Champion.
How does Eddie respond to that? Caprice knows all the years he’s put into wrestling, and knows that ROH is a prestigious title. Can Eddie shoulder that responsibility? Eddie says Claudio’s opinion doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is beating Claudio for that title. A title that mentors of Eddie’s have held. Low-Ki. Xavier. Homicide. That lineage belongs to Eddie, the underdog, the fighter. Claudio’s not a fighter, not an underdog, he knows that, because they know each other. They’ve lived with each other, met each other’s families. Claudio’s a coward for not doing business, so Eddie will force his hand. And Mox can’t stop this.
Interesting that Eddie would use the words “underdog” and “fighter.” Eddie always sees himself as an underdog, as a victim. When it comes to being a fighter, who is the one who always quits? Yeah, they used to live together, but also train together. Who ran off when things got hard? Claudio stayed, worked every single day that Eddie didn’t while throwing a pity party. Guess who put the work in? Guess who is champion right now because of that? Yeah, for now. Talk tough all you want, Eddie, you don’t walk the walk. Oh, word? Well, Eddie promised not to get up and punch Claudio, it’ll stay civil.
Claudio says Eddie is always a tough talker, always loud, that’s fine. Claudio isn’t afraid of Eddie, he’s afraid for Eddie. Eddie cannot beat Claudio, he cannot reach Claudio. Never did, never will. Then prove it! Prove it by giving Eddie his shot! Claudio says that if Eddie wants the shot, he’s got it! But Claudio will tell us all what’s gonna happen, think of this as a spoiler. Claudio will beat Eddie and outclass him. Then Eddie will blame everyone but himself for the loss. He’ll throw a tantrum then quit and run away to implode. Claudio tells Caprice that this man, Eddie, is the biggest waste of potential Claudio’s seen in his life!
Claudio saw Eddie when he was young, he saw the fire in his eyes, and that Eddie could’ve had it all. But then he threw himself a pity party and threw it all away. So mark Claudio’s words. After he retains his title at Supercard of Honor, this will happen again. Because Eddie can’t handle it! Caprice says it is official for March 31st in Los Angeles. Eddie VS Claudio, sign, sealed and delivered. But who will fight and who will run when all is said and done?

A really good ROH here, lots of development towards Supercard of Honor, and surprisingly, only one promo. That one promo was a very good promo as Eddie and Claudio get at each other and make an official ROH World Championship match for the PPV. There’s a lot of continuity to call upon from AEW here, can’t wait to see which way this one goes. Given how much the Blackpool Combat Club is still doing in AEW, this would be a pretty good opening for Kingston to win and let Claudio focus on AEW for a minute. Eddie can then have all sorts of great matches with ROH stars both old and new as ROH reestablishes itself.
Good women’s matches tonight, with Skye Blue getting a great win off Lady Frost and Billie Starkz with the surprising win over Alize. Athena VS Yuka Sakazaki is set for the PPV but I don’t see Athena losing. That means there must be plenty of strong Faces ready to challenge her. Skye is also still part of story in AEW, so maybe after we see The Outcasts VS Team AEW Homegrown play out, Skye devotes time to ROH and challenges for the title. Really good stuff out of Taven VS Darius, but of course The Kingdom helps Taven win that. Top Flight and The Kingdom should both be in that Reach for the Sky ladder match to both settle their feud and perhaps crown one team the champs.
Great interweaving of stories when it comes to the ROH Six Man titles. Fox, Blake & Metalik win against Trustbusters to shut them up and be clear next challengers, which is also made clear by The Embassy jumping them. Great showing from Deppen against Cage but I figured Cage would win. And then great retaliation from Fox, Blake & Metalik, which are going to need an official trio name if they’re gonna stick together. It really is three big hosses against three lighter high-flyers, this clash of styles is going to make for great stuff, but I can’t be sure the Faces dethrone the Embassy.
Really good stuff from tag teams tonight, such as LFI VS Rhett & Tracy and Aussie Open VS Daniels & Sydal. LFI and Aussie Open each winning makes sense, both factions are going strong in ROH but also other companies (AEW for LFI and NJPW for Aussie Open), these teams should also get in on the ladder match. Not to be mean to Aussie Open, but they’re already set for the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships, they don’t necessarily need the ROH titles. LFI would be a strong choice for the next ROH Tag Team Champions, and should think about bringing Preston Vance into ROH so they can really start to dominate a promotion.
Really good match from Silas VS Shane, both guys have been great mainstays of ROH, and great win for Shane. Depending how the titles go, I would love if Shane went after the world title in the next phase. I mostly say that because the fans really like Shane, and it’d be a shame if Shane had to face another fan favorite. Though that said, fan favorite Cheeseburger got squashed in a title match main event just so Joe could prove a point to Mark Briscoe. Mark had a great win to open tonight, and he made the save to close the night, I kinda hope Mark finds a way to get that TV title to “fulfill destiny” on the same night ROH honors the Briscoe tag team legacy with that ladder match.
My Score: 8.7/10
