WWE Raw Talk

The Queen graces Raw Talk with her presence!

Not only does Charlotte Flair style and profile, but the Bro and the King of Flight stop by to talk all about what happened Monday night!

Kevin Patrick welcomes us back to the show!

Another epic night in the ThunderDome as we’re on the road to Hell in a Cell! That makes Kevin a little nervous, but he’s glad to be back with R-Truth. They’ve been communicating, but mostly Kevin to Truth. Kevin explains for those who don’t know, last week he was inadvertently the reason Truth lost the WWE 24/7 Championship to Akira Tozawa, and clearly Truth hasn’t gotten it back yet. Truth says that sounds well-rehearsed, but thanks for Kevin acknowledging that. Kevin apologizes, and Truth says this isn’t a game or a joke. When Mick Foley unveiled the title live on Raw, everyone thought it was the ugliest thing ever. But Truth took that title to levels no one expected! It’s basically his belt!

Kevin recently had a baby, how would he feel if someone took the baby away? He wouldn’t feel good at all. Exactly! So that’s how Truth feels. He can’t just laugh this off. That’s all Truth is saying. Can’t let bygones be bygones when Truth hasn’t gotten the gones back. Kevin promises to help Truth get the title back however he can. He may not be ripped and muscular, but he can be sneaky. Truth says chivalry gets you nowhere. But they can fist bump on that. Kevin will gladly take that! Winner winner, chicken dinner, welcome to the show! Raw had quite the ending with Natalya & Tamina retaining their Women’s Tag Team Championships against Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax!

Did Truth catch that match? He did. Reggie is a nuisance! Certainly is, in that fancy suit and being around when Shayna told him not to be there. Reggie went to leave, and things got spooky as the FIRE erupted! Shayna was going to win but Natty gets her with a cradle! Truth is happy for Natty & Tamina. Kevin directs things to earlier in the night, when Kofi Kingston and Drew McIntyre had a match to determine a #1 contender to the WWE World Championship. How’d that go? Not very well if you’re Kofi or McIntyre. MVP and Bobby Lashley interfered, but WWE official Adam Pearce has banned them from ringside for next week’s rematch.

The replay happens and Truth says that’s not right. MVP is always flapping his yap. Speaking of flapping gums, Truth is a veteran in the game, so the way Cedric Alexander taunted and disrespected Shelton Benjamin, then cheated to beat him, how would Truth feel about that? He wouldn’t like that. But Benjamin delivers like an OG. You win some, you lose some, but the lesson will be taught! A big show tonight, and we start off with the Queen, but we also have The Bro and the One and Only!

Charlotte Flair joins Raw Talk!

The 13-time women’s champion sits down and Truth is impressed by that number. He and Charlotte both sing a rally song. “This one’s for North Carolina~! C’mon and raise up! Take your shirt off! Put it in there, spin it like a helicopter!” Charlotte says back to business. Kevin congratulates her on the big win, but she isn’t sure why everyone’s saying it like that, “a big win.” Charlotte’s the one who beat Asuka at WrestleMania, ended the undefeated streak. She is happy she won, but c’mon. Kevin says it is pretty obvious that Rhea doesn’t respect Charlotte. Truth says it isn’t so much that. Everyone should respect Charlotte. Charlotte says Rhea does respect her, but Rhea just won’t admit it.

Rhea is young, hungry, but Charlotte is the Queen. Rhea will learn to respect Charlotte when Charlotte makes her bow down at Hell in a Cell. Kevin looks forward to that match, and so does Charlotte. Truth says Rhea won’t bow down. He’s still on Charlotte’s side, but she’ll have to really hit Rhea hard. Kevin says that might be a lack of respect right there. No way, K-Peezy! We saw what Charlotte did to Asuka. Charlotte brings up what she did to Rhea at WrestleMania 36. Made her tap. But Rhea has improved. She has more presence, at least. But tonight, Rhea stepped to Charlotte, tried to get in her head, when she should’ve worried about herself. That is the difference of someone new to the game, and someone who IS the game like Charlotte Flair.

Charlotte doesn’t worry about anyone else, she focuses on herself. Truth says Charlotte doesn’t worry about the competition, the competition worries about her. The only competition Charlotte has is who she sees in the mirror. BOOM! Act like you know, K-Peezy! Charlotte says that once someone matches her accolades, then we can talk about worry. Kevin admits Rhea took her eye off the ball against Nikki Cross in the Beat the Clock Challenge. Yeah, Rhea was feeling good having won at #WrestleManiaBacklash, saw Charlotte lose last week and went, “Ooo~, I’m the champ!” But you can’t waste time feeling yourself like that.

How is Charlotte feeling, then? The best she’s ever been. And she’ll only get better. Truth points out he almost went “Woo~!” Charlotte says she doesn’t really woo anymore, not really her thing (despite letting out one during the match tonight). Would Truth ever go against Charlotte? No, never. Charlotte says he’s lucky she didn’t find him when he was 24/7 Champion. That’s one of the only titles she hasn’t won. Well, there are all the men’s titles but still. Maybe Charlotte will get her 14th at HIAC. Kevin and Truth see Charlotte is feeling great, they thank her for her time. Will the Queen be champion again in just a month? Truth grumbles that Kevin keeps trying to start stuff when it comes to the 24/7 title. Kevin apologizes again as we go to break.

Ricochet joins Raw Talk!

The One and Only is here, Truth brings it in and Ricochet fist bumps Kevin. The jacket he has is sharp. But Ricochet literally jumping in as Sheamus was beating up Humberto Carrillo after their match, Ricochet wanted Sheamus to stop being a bully. Sheamus didn’t need to keep on Humberto after all that. Plus, Humberto and Ricochet have known each other for some time now, they’re good pals, Ricochet wasn’t going to let Sheamus punk his friend out. They both won’t let Sheamus keep doing what he wants. They’re poking the “big Irish bear” a bit, but Ricochet does like pushing Sheamus to his limits. Hat, coat, fighting back, Ricochet just wants Sheamus to remember him, “live rent free in his mind” and all that.

Ricochet wants to ask Kevin, how was his Irish accent? Pretty good, but the “mate” was way off. Truth agrees with Kevin, but Ricochet dares him to bust out his Irish accent. Truth tries, but he asks for another shrimp on the barbie and that’s all Australian stuff. Truth says you gotta throw it a bit. Way off, Truth. But at least he tried. Ricochet says anything he can do to bug Sheamus, he’ll do it. He might get the jacket again, or just use “more of me accent.” No shrimp, Truth. Sheamus likes shrimp but Truth is still way off. Wrong “mate,” Truth. Truth’s going down under, but the UK is up north. Well the problem is there’s no dip for the shrimp.

Ricochet keeps playing along with Truth just to tease Kevin. Dip the shrimp, K-Peezy. Alright, well, we’ll work on the accents later. Truth says all you need is a few words and you can get around. Sheamus only knows two or three words, right? Uh, he knows a lot more words than that but… Truth will teach Ricochet the words, though. Right, sure. But is Ricochet feeling like he’s close to a United States Championship opportunity? Honestly, he does think so. He’s done what not many have, and that’s push Sheamus to his limits not once but twice. Then say it with confidence! Fo’ sho! Ricochet says that to the camera: “I KNOW I deserve an opportunity!”

Ricochet will do what he has to do to stay on Sheamus’ mind. Rent free in a Dublin apartment. Truth promises to get together with Ricochet later, have those said shrimp. Will Ricochet be the One and Only superstar that Sheamus will give a golden ticket to?

Matt Riddle joins Raw Talk!

The True Bros, Kevin’s work is cut out for him. Riddle shows off the new merchandise! #TheBrofessional shirts AND flip-flops! Kick ’em off just like Riddle does on TV! Brofessional, huh? And look! Riddle got a pedicure! His feet are pretty and shiny! Where do you get the sandals? WWE Shop on the internets or something. You could just google “Original Bro” and “merchandise.” Riddle lives out in the sticks, things move a little slower out there, y’know? Truth knows what that’s like.

But Kevin wants to talk how Riddle used the RKO! That was nuts! Riddle admits, Woods brought the heat! An insane match! Sometimes we forget how good Woods is in the ring! He hit a gorilla press gutbuster! Knocked the wind out of him! That missile dropkick? Bro, it hurt but in a good way because this was for Randy! Yeah, Riddle dedicated the win to Randy. Randy was busy watching Operation: Dumbo Drop, taking it easy, had the munchies, stuff like that. You get a Monday off, you use it wisely. Randy’s a bro, a legend killer, he knows how to take care of his body. Riddle did talk to him, told him about the RKO, and Randy said, “I saw it, bro, and I was impressed.”

Did he really say “bro?” No, that’s some editorializing from Riddle, but if you know Randy like Riddle knows Randy, there’s like a subtle two second pause in the texts where he said “bro.” When Riddle and Randy look at each other, it’s kinda like Riddle and Truth. There’s just something there, bro. Truth knows Kevin wants to go, “Aww!” He doesn’t, but Truth knows he wants to. So what’s going on, K-Pizzle? What’s up with you? Riddle admits, that was the first time he hit an RKO in real-life, and it was awesome! One of the best feelings in his life!

If you were to ask “Little Riddle” ten years ago, when he was in the UFC, if he could see himself on a Monday Night Raw hitting an RKO for the 1-2-3, bro, he would’ve told Future Riddle to shut his mouth because there’s no way that’d happen. And dude, what did we just see tonight? It’s on Twitter and gifs on the internet, bro. Riddle and Randy have been texting. They’re like BFF’s, bro! Truth is jealous but also really excited. Riddle knows everyone wants a piece of The Viper, but he’s a pretty frugal guy. And to be honest, Orton did make it so Riddle had to work hard to earn his trust and respect.

Then they started teaming, aren’t an official tag team yet, hit some turbulence, but Randy’s Randy, RKO’ing The New Day. Riddle redeemed them and did it Viper style. What’s next, then? Well Riddle could go with the cliché of “Sky’s the limit,” but even Truth says not to say that. He won’t! But this is RANDY ORTON and Matt Riddle, RKBRO! Riddle added a new weapon into his arsenal, bro, and it’s an R K O! Honestly, the future is going up and up! Not sky, the MOON! To Mars! The next galaxy! WWE IS the Universe, so they’re taking over the UNIVERSE as R K BRO! R K BRO is 4 LIFE! That’s not really his thing, that’s from somewhere else, but hey. Truth says that’s cool, he should use that.

But then what about using the RKO more? Riddle didn’t ask for permission and Randy gets mad at these other guys who use it in other places, but Riddle and Randy know each other. Truth wouldn’t mind if Riddle used one of his moves, right? Right, but they’re bros. Yeah but Riddle and Randy connect on another level. If Riddle had messed up, then yeah. But he hit it pretty sweetly and won over a top tier competitor! How many times has Xavier Woods been tag team champion? Riddle can’t count that high, but it’s up there.

13 is oddly the number, right? Charlotte has 13, John Cena has like 13 or something. But RKBRO is coming for the titles, bros! Omos, Styles, watch out, bro~! YAAAAH! Truth and Riddle are fired up, Kevin says that’s Raw Talk for the week! Can’t wait to see how things go next week!

My Thoughts:

A good episode overall, and with nothing too much being recycled from other promos during the day. Charlotte had a good segment, accusing Rhea of being reluctant to admit she respects her. But a lot of this might be to direct things towards Charlotte losing at HIAC so that Rhea can start fresh with other competition on the way to MITB. Ricochet was good, he did repeat himself a bit, not having much else to say since he was thrown into the feud. I do like that Kevin accepted Ricochet’s accent, and then Truth went completely off course.

Ricochet probably isn’t the only one getting that title match, though. This is one of the times when Raw should copy SmackDown, and give us a huge US Championship match with Sheamus, Ricochet, Carrillo, maybe get Mansoor back in the mix. Big match to make Raw before or after HIAC feel big, that’s what Raw needs right now. Then we got another really fun Riddle segment. Riddle’s energy with Truth is great stuff, I love how fired up they can get. I like how Riddle bro-fabes (kayfabe but like a bro) things with Randy and how he sees this going. It could lend itself to further his feelings of betrayal if/when Randy turns on him. But I really do hope we get RKBRO VS Styles & Omos first, there’s a lot of great stuff that can happen in that.

Mitchell’s AEW Continental Classic Update! (11/27/23)

What a start to the tournament!

Did your picks win points?

The AEW Continental Classic is underway, with almost everyone competing. Check in here if you haven’t seen the winners and losers of week 1!

Here are your Gold League standings!

  • Jon Moxley: 1-0, 3 points
  • Swerve Strickland: 1-0, 3 points
  • Jay White: 1-0, 3 points
  • Rush: 0-1, 0 points
  • Mark Briscoe: 0-1, 0 points.
  • Jay Lethal: 0-1, 0 points

Here are your Blue League standings!

  • Brody King: 1-0, 3 points
  • Claudio Castagnoli: 1-0, 3 points
  • Daniel Garcia: 0-1, 0 points
  • Eddie Kingston: 0-1, 0 points
  • Bryan Danielson: Yet to Compete
  • Andrade El Idolo: Yet to Compete

My Thoughts:

Nothing too crazy, nothing too wild, this tournament only just got started. The only disappointing point is that they could not get Bryan “cleared to compete” Saturday night. Not sure how much of that is shoot given the bad eye, but this was kinda the problem of wanting him in the tournament over tons of other choices. Bryan wants to face Okada for WrestleKingdom 18, how is Bryan supposed to do that at his best if he’s also gonna be in a round robin, doing five top level matches in about as many weeks? And it takes away from Andrade being able to do something. Also a little surprised we didn’t even hear from Andrade on Saturday.

Now as we heard on Saturday, round two’s matches are set. Gold League will see Mark Briscoe VS Rush, White VS Swerve, and of course, Moxley VS Lethal. Nice variety there, a couple 0-1 guys facing off, as well as two 1-0 guys, and then 1-0 VS 0-1. No offense to Lethal, but he feels like an 0-2 going up against Moxley. Hard to call the other ones but that’s the fun of it. Meanwhile, Blue League sees Brody VS Claudio in a showdown to be 2-0, then Bryan and Andrade finally jump in, Bryan against Eddie and Andrade against Garcia. Sadly, feels like Eddie and Garcia are going 0-2, no way Tony Khan is booking Bryan and Andrade to lose their first shots.

In fact, that could be half the reason they did wait on those two, that’s almost too good for just a first round opener. But I still would’ve done it, same as NJPW does stuff like that for round robins, which this is all modeled after anyway.
