The Pinnacle returns to Daily’s Place!

MJF, Tully Blanchard, FTR, Shawn Spears and Wardlow are back after recovering from their Stadium Stampede 2 defeat! What will they say and do to respond to The Inner Circle’s declaration of war?

Matt Hardy and The Hybrid2 are already in the ring!

Big Money Matt has the mic to say, “Christian Cage, you’ve been jealous of Matt Hardy for years, because I’ve made so much more money than you in this industry!” Now, his “associate,” Angelico, will use Hardy’s wisdom and experience to END Christian’s career! And Hardy promises Christian that he will never financially recover! But Captain Charisma makes his entrance now, not afraid of those threats. Will he #OutWorkEveryone and win that money Hardy wants for himself?

Christian Cage VS Angelico w/ Matt Hardy & Jack Evans!

The bell rings, fans cheer for Christian as he circles with Angelico. They tie up, and Angelico wrenches to a hammerlock. Christian reverses the hammerlock, gets a headlock and the takeover! Angelico fights up, pries free and steps over to then wrench the arm to a wristlock. Christian powers through to wrench Angelico and YANK the arm. Angelico spins and steps through to hook and spin and wrench and arm-drag Christian, then lounge on the mat. Fans boo Angelico but he eggs Christian on, while holding a leg guard. Angelico dares Christian to take his leg and fans rally up. Christian doesn’t fall for the trap so Angelico gets up to talk trash. Christian SLAPS him for it!

Christian puts Angelico in a corner, climbs up and rains down fists! The fans count, Christian uses both hands to get up to 10! Christian lets off, goes out to the apron and climbs up behind Angelico, but Angelico hots him first! Angelico hits a SUPER ARM-DRAG, then STOMPS the arm! And PENALTY KICKS! And stomps again! Fans boo but Angelico soaks it up as he hooks up one arm, then both arms of Christian! Christian is stuck and Angelico fish hooks his face. Ref Aubrey reprimands, Angelico lets off, and Christian gets up to throw hands! Angelico knees low, then whips Christian hard into buckles!

Fans boo but Angelico soaks up the heat. Angelico covers, TWO! Christian clings to ropes but Angelico goes after the arm by standing on it! Hardy talks trash right in Christian’s face, then Angelico lets off as Aubrey counts. Fans rally up for Christian but Angelico kick shim around. Christian hits back with body shots then an uppercut! Angelico runs into a mule kick, Christian goes up to jump and sunset flip! Angelico rolls through, has the legs, but Christian kicks him away! Christian gets up into a PENALTY KICK! Angelico has Christian’s arms, steps over to crisscross them, then has an ARMBAR! Christian is caught in a modified juji-gatame but he endures!

Fans rally, Hardy shouts at Christian to quit, but he scoots around and gets a ropebreak with a foot! Angelico lets go fast but is frustrated as Christian stay sin this. Angelico has Christian in a corner, JABS him, then goes after the bad arm. Angelico JABS Christian again, hoists him up top, and is after the arm. Christian resists, but Angelico wrenches. Christian blocks to turn things back around, TORNADO INVERTED DDT! Christian can’t make a cover but he keeps focus on Angelico. Christian throws hands, ROCKS Angelico and whips, but Angelico reverses, only for Christian to run him over! Christian climbs, leaps and missile dropkicks! Cover, TWO!

Christian puts Angelico on the ropes and stands on him to choke him! Aubrey counts, Christian slingshots up and over, but Jack Evans distracts Christian! Christian scares Evans off, Angelico dodges the uppercut and drags Christian to the apron. Christian hotshots Angelico away! Christian climbs a corner, aims and leaps, DIVING HEADBUTT! Cover, TWO!! Angelico survives and Christian grits his teeth in frustration. Fans fire up as both men rise, but Angelico gets Christian’s arm to WRING it out! Angelico stands on Christian’s chest, puts the bad arm on the ropes, then goes up the corner. Angelico jumps but Christian BOOTS him from below!

Christian then BOOTS Angelico into a corner, catches him for a cradle, TWO!! Angelico narrowly escapes but fans are fired up. Christian stalks Angelico, Angelico elbows him away! Christian avoids the sweep but not the EDDY GORDO! Jackknife cover, TWO!! Christian lives and Angelico is beside himself! Fans are thunderous as both men rise. Angelico goes to wrench but Christian reverses, reels Angelico in, heads collide and both men go down! Fans rally back up, Christian and Angelico get to opposite corners, and Angelico runs in, only to miss! SWING KICK from Christian and he climbs up again, FLYING UPPERCUT!

Christian watches Angelico as he stirs and fans fire up again! Christian watches Hardy as he hooks the arms, turns Angelico, KILLSWITCH!! Cover, Christian wins!

Winner: Christian Cage, by pinfall

But here comes Jack Evans! Christian ducks the kick but Hardy gets in! Christian fires off on Evans, Evans flops out of the ring, but Christian turns around into the TWIST OF FATE! Big Money Matt has Angelico stomp Christian more, then gets him up in the double underhooks. But JUNGLE BOY rushes out! Hardy and TH2 retreat, but will JB make them pay for what they’re trying to do to Captain Charisma?

AEW Dynamite is going big for July!

The first four weeks in a row of AEW back on the road, and each week is something epic! First, the inaugural #RoadRager event on July 7th in Miami, Florida! Then July 14th and 21st, the TWO PART Fyter Fest 2021! Night One in Cedar Park, Texas and Night Two in Garland, Texas! And to top it all off, July 28th in Charlotte, North Carolina, Fight for the Fallen 2021! Tickets on sale now, get yours at AEWTIX.com!

Tony Schiavone is in the ring!

Next week is going to be a huge debut! A tag team match where it is Aaron Solow & QT Marshall VS Cody Rhodes and his partner will be the newest signee to AEW, BROCK ANDERSON! Arn Anderson’s son is joining the Nightmare Family! And with that, here comes Cody Rhodes! He, Arn and Brock are all here, and Schiavone is happy to see they’re all smiles after last week. It’s big for Brock to make his Dynamite debut next week and Cody thanks Schiavone for that. Cody is confident that Brock wasn’t just born on third base, he will steal home, maybe even hit a homerun each and every night.

“It is an ungodly standard some of these dads have set for us,” but Cody won’t lie to us. If anyone can do it, it’s Brock Anderson! Fans cheer on Brock and Cody continues to say, “I also wouldn’t mind a modicum of revenge myself,” since Anthony Ogogo beat him. But here comes QT to argue the point. Beat by Ogogo? No, QT pinned Cody by himself! Just like he’s out here by himself. And enough with these vanity projects, all this second generation nepotism. Does Brock want pyro? Why not come in from the ceiling? QT is getting sick of this, so here’s the deal! Fans boo loudly but QT talks over them. Cody has been neglecting Comoroto and Solow, this is how this started.

But we know what makes Cody Rhodes Cody Rhodes: the fans! Not the Internet Wrestling Community, but the actual paying customers that go to the shows. So when AEW Goes back on the road to start July, QT wants a full house so that they can all see him whoop Cody’s ass! And not just metaphorically, he means it literally in a SOUTH BEACH STRAP MATCH Oh a strap match, huh? How about right now? Cody can use his own belt! QT backs off to get his own belt ready, and then he SMACKS Arn from behind! Brock TACKLES QT on behalf of his dad! Referees rush to stop this, but fans are fired up for Brock even more!

QT runs away, but will he survive next week to even have the Strap Match with the American Nightmare?

Six Man Tag: The Young Bucks & Brandon Cutler VS Eddie Kingston, PAC & Penta El Zero M!

Matt & Nick Jackson have been doing whatever they want to whoever they want, but the Mad King isn’t going to let that continue any longer! Kingston used to be friends with Penta, but can they at least be allies in stopping the AEW World Tag Team Champions and their stooge?

The teams sort out, Don Callis joins commentary to predict the victory already, and The Bastard steps up to Matt. Fans chant “Young Bucks Suck!” as Matt steps to Pac. Pac calls out Cutler for that camera shot to the leg last week! Cutler wants no part of this, and Matt tries a sucker punch! Pac blocks it, ROCKS Matt, and then Matt pinballs between Penta and Kingston in the corner! Pac whips Matt into a corner and Matt bounces off and flounders about! Matt reaches out, Nick makes Cutler tag in! Cutler doesn’t want to enter, Matt slingshots him in! Cutler staggers up to his feet and Pac CLOBBERS him back down!

Pac stalks Cutler, runs in corner to corner and uppercuts Cutler down! Pac looms over Cutler and fans are fired up. Pac gets Cutler up, wrenches, but looks to his corner. He doesn’t tag Kingston but tags in Penta! Scoop SLAM to WAZZAAAP? Cover, TWO! Penta stares down the Bucks but they stay back as he gets Cutler up. Penta KICKS Cutler in the leg and Cutler crumbles. Fans chant ‘CERO MIEDO!” for Penta, and he rips the tracksuit open to CHOP the chest! Fans love that and want “One More Time!” Penta tags in Kingston, they mug Cutler, and Kingston throws forearms on Cutler. Kingston whips, KNEES Cutler, then repeats!

Kingston snapmares and DOUBLE STOMPS Cutler! Cover, TWO! The Bucks still stay back, and Kingston gets Cutler up to suplex. Kingston holds Cutler up before the SLAM! Kingston drops an elbow then covers, TWO! The Bucks act like they care but they aren’t showing it. Pac tags in and Kingston is a bit confused. Penta keeps the peace between his mutual friends, but Pac stalks Cutler to then BOOT him down! Pac drags Cutler up, then THROWS him to the Bucks! He dares either of them to tag in, so Matt takes it. Pac gives Matt a hip toss and copies the Bucks’ handspring to basement dropkick! And he mocks the pose! Nick gets in but trips over his own feet! Pac CLOBBERS Nick!

Matt back suplexes but Pac lands on his feet to fire off kicks! Pac runs, Matt distracts the ref and Nick trips him up! Nick drags Pac out but Pac ROCKS him! Cutler runs in but Pac BACK DROPS Cutler away! Pac goes back to the ring but Matt WRECKS him with a dropkick! Nick BLASTS Kingston off the apron and Penta hurries to check on him. Nick gets Pac up and fans boo but Matt mocks their jeers. The Bucks put Pac in but Kingston tosses in a chair from the crowd! Matt protests as AEW goes picture in picture.

The ref gets the chair out, Matt stomps and chokes Pac! Matt lets off as the ref reprimands, and he tags Nick. The Bucks drag Pac up to bring him around and whip him to ropes, for a DOUBLE BOOT! The Bucks double hip thrust then hit double elbow drops! The Bucks kip up together and soak up the heat. Nick drags Pac up, whips him hard into the corner, then runs in to SHINING WIZARD! Pac flops down, Nick mockingly has him hold out a hand to his corner, then brings him away to scrape his soles on Pac’s feet! Nick does his best Macho Man posturing before he gets Pack back up. Nick bumps Pac off buckles, Matt tags in, and Matt fires off hands!

The ref counts, Matt stomps but lets off at 4, fired up over the top. Matt distracts the ref while Nick chokes Pac! Nick lets off before he gets caught, and Cutler gives him cold spray on his back. Nick thanks Cutler and then Matt goes after Pac. Kingston protests but that only helps Matt get away with more! Matt taunts Penta, the ref keeps Penta back, and the Bucks fake a tag. Nick gets Pac up to feed to Matt’s Nike! Matt tags back in, Nick BLASTS Penta, and AEW returns to single picture as the Bucks bring Pac around. Kingston is pissed but the Bucks double whip Pac into their corner. Nick run sin but Pac TOSSES him! Pac BOOTS Matt, then hurries for the corner!

Matt pulls hair to bring Pac back around! Matt climbs up, reels Pac in, but Pac TOSSES the tornado DDT away! Fans fire up as Pac crawls, but Cutler runs in! Pac back kicks Cutler down! Tag to Kingston! Kingston rallies on Cutler and the Bucks with haymakers! Matt throat chops, whips, but Kingston reverses to an OVERHEAD Belly2Belly! Nick leaps but into Kingston’s clinch! EXPLODER! Fans are thunderous, hot tag to Penta! Penta climbs for a DOUBLE CROSSBODY! Cutler grabs Penta, Bucks take aim, but Penta ducks and the DOUBLE SUPERKICKS hit Cutler! Penta ducks Matt, mule kicks, then wheelbarrows Nick! Victory roll pop-up to the DESTROYER on Matt!!

Fans are electric as Penta KICKS Nick’s leg! “CERO! MIEDO!” Penta runs but Cutler trips him! Cutler holds him, Nick goes to the apron, but again Penta ducks and the PENALTY KICK hits Cutler! Penta gets on the apron, APRON BACKSTABBER and it sends Nick onto Cutler! Penta gets Matt for the PUMP HANDLE DRIVER! Cover, Cutler breaks it! Cutler scurries away, Matt gets to a corner, Penta tags in Pac! Pac runs in to forearm Matt! Kingston adds a knee! Penta runs in to SUPERKICK! Matt is down, Pac is up, but Cutler has his camera! Kingston intercepts but the contact with ropes still makes Pac wobble! Matt trips Pac up, but Kingston CLOBBERS Matt!

Nick punches Kingston, but Kingston just fires up! Nick throws another punch, Kingston fires off CHOP after CHOP after CHOP! Kingston whips, Nick dodges and spins through the ropes to LARIAT! Penta returns to mule kick and whip! Nick reverses, Penta reverses back and arm-drags Nick out of the ring! Penta builds speed, and FLIES with the escalara tope conjilo!! Cutler and Nick are down, Pac has Matt all alone! 450 SPLASH! To BRUTALIZER!!! Matt refuses to give up, Nick gets in to stomp Pac! Pac holds on! Nick tries again and again but Pac is tough! Kingston ENZIGURIS Nick! Pac wants to slingshot but Kingston says they can do this together!

Pac agrees, they DOUBLE DIVE!! Fosbury Flop and a Tope Suicida in stereo!! But Matt rolls Pac with tights! TWO!! SUP- NO! Pac blocks the kick and Matt pleads for mercy! Pac kicks and kicks and kicks, but Nick KICKS Pac! The Bucks coordinate, Cutler joins in, BUCKLE BOMB DOUBLE-GIRI! Matt scoops and SLAMS Pac, tags Cutler, and Cutler SPRINGBOARD FROGGY FLOPS!! URAKEN!! Pac covers Cutler, Kingston and Death Triangle win!!

Winners: Eddie Kingston, PAC & Penta El Zero M, by pinfall

But Nick SUPERKICKS Kingston! And Matt SUPERKICKS Penta! The Elite are sore losers as they stomp their opponents out! The Good Brothers are here to join in! They get Penta up for a mugging, and the same for Kingston! But here comes FRANKIE KAZARIAN! The #EliteHunter wants vengeance for SCU and he starts with Doc Gallows! Kingston and Penta throw the rest out, Gallows ROCKS Kaz but Kaz comes back to CLOTHESLINE Gallows out! Gallows gets up but the Elite has him stand down!

Kingston points out Cutler to Kaz, and Kaz CLOBBERS him!! The Heavy Metal Rebel may be another ally in this fight! Will this help tip the scales in the battle against the corrupt Elite?

The Elite share their perspective of the Double or Nothing “conspiracy.”

Directed by Michael “Kurosawa,” aka just Michael Nakazawa, it is a highlight reel of the epic Triple Threat from Double or Nothing. Or as Don Callis put it last week and in this video, “The Dark Side of AEW, the #KhanJob to take the belt of off Kenny Omega.” This “raw footage” has subtitles that claim referee Bryce Remberg said he hates Kenny Omega and wants him to lose the belt! And it even changes “F You Don!” to “Thank You Don!” as Callis blatantly gives Omega belts. But it skips the belt shot after belt shot after belt shot after belt shot, because Omega has four belts to use, that helped Omega take out Pac. And then it edits happy fans into the celebration of Omega’s victory. Is anyone going to call The Elite out on their BS?

The Pinnacle heads to the ring!

MJF leads the way as he, Tully Blanchard, FTR, Shawn Spears and Wardlow all walk out and have mics. Dax Harwood says it goes without saying that Stadium Stampede 2 didn’t go their way. And that’s okay. That match wasn’t made for men like them. Dax calls out Santana & Ortiz specifically, saying those two gave FTR one hell of a fight. And in the middle of all that chaos, something clicked for Dax: The four of them aren’t so different. Yes, FTR are hardened Carolina boys while Proud ‘n’ Powerful are streetwise Bronx kids, but that’s where the differences end. They all came from nothing, they all overcame adversity, and they all made something of themselves.

Fans chant for “Inner Circle!” as Dax says Santana & Ortiz lost their edge but FTR never did. That is why FTR tried to end their careers and gave them piledrivers through tables. That is why FTR tried to take food from their family’s mouths. Dax has a family to provide for, and most importantly he has a bank account he has to fill up. Cash says he’s a single man with no family so he doesn’t give a SH*T about either of one of theirs! It’s been two years, and PNP still aren’t AEW World Tag Team Champions. Why is that? Because the biggest difference here is that The Pinnacle is truly a family! They work together to build their legacies! But PNP is just happy to be a footnote in someone else’s history.

Shawn Spears calls out Sammy Guevara. Sammy got the moment of a lifetime at Spears’ expense. And Jericho called Sammy, of all people, a hero? HERO?! Why?! Because he got lucky?! Because he wears fanny packs and has a vlog?! Or is it because Sammy does crazy, outlandish moves and throws caution to the wind? That doesn’t make Sammy a hero, that makes him a glorified indie darling! The Pinnacle is what professionals look like! SPEARS is the hero here! This ain’t done! Tully has Spears calm down, and Wardlow steps up to call out Jake Hager. Hager is obsessed with Wardlow, isn’t he? Wardlow is starting to think Hager needs him.

And why is that? Is that because ever interaction, every fight, every match, Wardlow brings out the absolute best in him? Then Wardlow gets it. Hager wants this to keep this going, Wardlow will play along. Hager wants to invite Wardlow to his “comfort zone,” because Hager knows he could never beat Wardlow in the ring? Hager wants Wardlow to step into Hager’s world? Well next week, YOU’RE ON! And Wardlow will show Hager that it doesn’t matter if it’s in the ring, a freezer, a football field, or an octagon, “when you’re standing across from me, you’re always in Wardlow’s world!”

And of course MJF is next. He knows The Pinnacle is angry, but if he’s being honest, he’s just tired. MJF is tired everyone is telling him there’s something to prove, when in reality, he is already the best. “And being the best so young, so fast, that’s daunting. That’s pressure.” Not that anyone in the audience can relate to that because they will never be the best at anything. So that brings MJF to Chris Jericho. MJF admits he grew up idolizing Jericho. MJF watched every match, every promo, read every book.

MJF takes us back in time. The year was 2019, the Jacksonville, FL Double or Nothing rally. After MJF was done on stage, he goes backstage and boom, there he was. His idol, Jericho powerwalked right by him. MJF’s heart was beating a million miles a minute! He knew he’d have the opportunity to work with Jericho, tag with him, wrestle against him, and that should’ve been a dream come true, “but it wasn’t.” MJF wasn’t sure why and it kept him up at night. But then it hit him. MJF was idolizing a false god! Jericho wasn’t larger than life, he was just like everyone else: “not even remotely on my level.”

MJF has beaten Jericho TWICE, and has nothing to prove to the fans and nothing to prove to Jericho! The next match request is DENIED! Then there’s Sammy. MJF could pretend to be shocked that Sammy let Jericho speak on his behalf about their own rivalry, but he wasn’t. Not just because Sammy is chicken sh*t, but also because if MJF were him, he wouldn’t want to talk, either, since Sammy has the same speaking skills as Helen Keller. Sammy does NOT belong in the ring with MJF, so Sammy should keep MJF’s name out of his mouth! Because MJF is better than you, and you know it!

But then Jericho responds by shouting out to The Pinnacle from the titantron. We really doing this again? We know how the movie ends. They know what happens when you don’t give The Inner Circle what they want. But the Pinnacle bested them with another brilliant soliloquy. Good for you, MJF. But they can walk home now, because the Inner Circle found their limousine! Get it, boys! They take SLEDGEHAMMERS to the windows! And baseball bats to the sides! And graffiti to the paint on the hood! And knives to the tires! And they smash the tail lights! The Pinnacle is furious and shout for security to stop this! This is a CRIME!

Santana finishes writing “El Barto” on the side, and Hager brings in a forklift! The forklift isn’t here to lift, but the STAB the limo in the side! Oh, and then lift it! The doors are ripped from the frame and the forklift lets it down. Jericho suggests The Pinnacle get an Uber! Sammy says he’ll fight MJF any night of the week! The Inner Circle heads out, and the ball is in The Pinnacle’s court. Will MJF and his team play Jericho’s game?

Darby Allin and Sting speak.

“Scorpio and Ethan,” Darby is not replacing Sting next week. Because he wants this to be a 2v1 HANDICAP MATCH! Darby asks Sting to stay home. Why? So he can get beat up? Darby asks Sting to stay. He isn’t stupid, but Sting got the win at Double or Nothing. Darby needs to prove to both Scorpio & Ethan that he can do something on his own. Darby has nothing to prove! He was a TNT Champion when Sting arrived and did all that on his own. Darby is who he is because of Darby, not because of Sting. They both won at DON. Darby says it’s not about that. He just asks Sting to stay home. Just this once. It’s what Darby wants. Then Sting agrees, he’ll stay away.

Sting wants a fist bump, Darby says he respects the hell out of Sting, and he gives it. The deal is struck, but who will come to regret it more?

AEW TNT Championship: Miro VS Evil Uno w/ The Dark Order!

The Best Man bested the Murderhawk Monster at Double or Nothing, but mostly because he played off the attachment Lance Archer had to Jake the Snake. Player One feels he’s being selfish, but he would gladly be selfish if it meant validating a 17 year career, honoring a 15 year friendship with the late, great Brodie Lee, and restoring the pride of the Dark Order. Will Uno be the one? Or will the Bulgarian Barbarian brutalize him with the strength he has been blessed with?

The introductions are made, the title is raised, and so much more than just the championship is on the line!

Miro and Uno circle and fans rally up. Miro and Uno tie up, Miro powers Uno to a corner, but lets off as the ref counts. Fans boo and Miro dares Uno to reset. Uno gets out of the corner, they tie up, and Miro waistlocks to SLAM Uno down! Miro floats to a facelock, pushes Uno to a cover, ONE! Miro gets the facelock and keeps Uno from ropes. Miro scoops and SLAMS Uno, and then he soaks up the heat. Uno gets up, Miro kicks low then ROCKS him with a forearm! Miro throws heavy body shots, then scoops again. Uno slips out to CHOP, but Miro doesn’t flinch!

Uno CHOPS again, Miro just snarls! Miro steps up but Uno dumps him out! Miro gets up but Uno stomps at him. Uno backs off and dares Miro to get in, but Miro trips him up this time. Miro throws more body shots, Uno staggers back, but then Uno dodges and Miro punches post! Miro clutches his knuckles as Uno gets on the apron. Miro turns around into Uno’s CANNONBALL! Direct hit and the fans fire up for Uno! Uno is surprised himself, and he gets into the ring to elbow Miro! And BOOT him! Uno hops up but Miro YANKS him off into a SAIDO! Miro glares into the camera then smiles as AEW goes picture in picture.

Miro shakes out the hand that hit steel, but he stalks Uno to ropes. Miro gets Uno up for a BIG suplex! Uno writhes, Miro paces, and then Miro chokes Uno on ropes! The ref counts, Miro lets off but he KICKS Uno in the back! Uno staggers away, Miro stalks him, and Uno CHOPS! Miro still doesn’t flinch, so Uno throws a forearm. Miro DECKS Uno, covers, TWO! Uno gets to a corner, Miro is after him, and Miro stomps Uno’s feet! Miro kicks Uno’s legs again and again, then hauls him up to whip corner to corner hard! Uno bounces off buckles and hits the mat, but Miro just looms over him. Miro grins as he sits Uno up, and has a fish hook in Uno’s eye!

Uno flails and claws and the ref counts, but Miro lets go. Only to fish hook Uno’s nose! The ref again counts, Miro mockingly counts along, and lets go at 4. Miro toys with Uno as he CLUBS him on the back! Miro sits Uno up to trap the arms in a straitjacket stretch! Uno endures, fans rally up, but Miro leans on the hold. Miro brings Uno down to the mat, and he shouts in Uno’s face. Uno keeps kicking and moving to get back up. Miro brings Uno around, Uno throws body shots and gets free. Uno throws forearms, runs, but into a DROPKICK from Miro! AEW returns to single picture as Miro soaks up the heat again.

Uno goes to the apron, Miro runs and BLASTS him off! Miro encourages the fans to boo and jeer while Uno writhes on the ground. Fans shout, “MIRO SUCKS! MIRO SUCKS!” but Miro encourages it. The Dark Order coach Uno as the ring count is climbing! Uno gets up at 5 but is floundering back to the ring. The count is 7, then 8! Uno is in at 9.9! Fans are fired up but Miro goes out to CLOBBER Stu Grayson out! Miro glares at Alan Angels and chases him to the ramp! Angels gets away but Miro throws a buckle pad at Angels! Miro then goes back to Uno, but Uno hits a JAWBREAKER! Uno throws forearms and fans rally behind him!

Uno ROCKS Miro, bobs ‘n’ weaves and fires off more forearms! Miro shoves, Uno ducks and dodges to RANA Miro! Miro staggers to a corner, Uno goes corner to corner to clothesline! Uno goes side to side for a forearm smash! Uno goes again, but has to dodge Miro again! Uno BOOTS Miro down and fans are thunderous! Uno hurries to a corner, climbs up top, and Stu is back up to rally with the fans! UNO SWANTON! Cover, ONE?!? Miro is breathing heavy but the rest of the Dark Order is here to reinforce Uno! Even Negative One, aka Brodie Lee Jr! Uno is invigorated, and he gets Miro up.  Miro blocks the bomb so Uno stomps the hands!

Uno fires a forearm, then runs, but leaps into Miro’s arms! Miro swings, Uno slips out! Uno waistlocks, Miro switches and O’Conner Rolls, TWO! Miro runs into the buckle he bared! Uno gets Miro to another cover, TWO!?!? Miro survives and the Dark Order can’t believe it! Uno fires up with the Dark Order coaching him on! Miro stands, Uno gives shout out to Brodie, “This is Awesome!” As Uno DISCUS! But Miro stays up!? Miro CLOBBERS Uno!! Miro wags his finger at the Dark Order, STOMPS Uno, and GAME OVEER!!! Uno is bent way back, Uno taps! Miro wins!

Winner: Miro, by submission (still AEW TNT Champion)

But Miro won’t let go until he is satisfied! Miro holds up the title in front of the entire Dark Order, rubbing salt in the wound. Uno could not do it, but could there be another that takes this title back? Or will The Best Man stay the best TNT Champion yet?

AEW takes a closer look at El Idolo.

Andrade has the bloodline, the swagger, the style, and the skills afforded to him by being a third generation wrestler. The Face of Latinos will be back next Friday to have an interview with Jim Ross!

Schiavone is back in the ring!

He mentions that in a couple of weeks, we will see Kenny Omega defend the AEW World Championship against Jungle Boy, but he and Don Callis are here again to talk about that and more! Schiavone says, “With all due respect to you, champion, the video that we saw that you guys put together, to tie Jungle Boy into this conspiracy theory that you have, a young man who had to go through 20 other men to get the world title shot, is just-” Callis says Schiavone needs to stop insulting the world champion! If they want to say that JB overcame 20 men, then what about Kenny and Callis overcoming a conspiracy from the company itself?!

This conspiracy reaches the highest level, the #KhanJob, to take this title off Omega! What Callis sees is good job, JB, for winning. Great job earning a shot. But to him and Kenny, JB is just like that band that sings his entrance song: A ONE HIT WONDER! Omega says, “Don’t get me wrong,” he knows his obligations as champion and what he has to do. He’s supposed to sell this match like JB is so incredible as #1 contender to the most protected and prestigious prize in ALL of professional wrestling! But guess what?! Guess what!? Omega can’t bring himself to say something bad about JB. When he sees those long, flowing, golden locks and his underwear model style body of his, Omega sees… A little bit of young Omega.

In fact, Omega quite respects JB. One day, JB might be a champion just like Omega. But there’s something that’s missing and he can’t put his finger on it. “Mr. Callis, you’re better at these things than I am,” so what is it JB is missing? Callis agrees, JB has just about everything. EXCEPT this one thing! What JB doesn’t have is THE GUTS- Well wait a minute! Here comes Jungle Boy right now! He goes right to the ring as fans sing his theme song! Omega seems shocked and Callis seems upset, but Omega chuckles. “Mr. Callis, if you will.” Callis takes the belt while Omega says he’s just as surprised as anyone. He’s never known JB to be a “promo guy” who really talks.

Does JB have any confidence to step in front of a champion? Does he have something to say? In fact, Omega knows he has NOTHING to say because JB doesn’t have the guts, just as Callis said! And standing in front of a wrestling god, what could he do? Is JB going to throw down with Omega before their match? Is this going to be a battle of wits? Is this going to be the greatest promo in the history of pro-wrestling live on national television? Omega thinks not! Mr. Callis, who the heck is better on the mic than Omega? NOBODY! Gosh dang right! So if JB has something to say, Omega will give him five seconds. Get it out quick, Omega is getting a little pissed off.

JB gets the mic, and says, “Man, you talk way too much.” Omega laughs that off, but then swing son JB! JB dodges and fifes off forearms! Callis bails out, JB has Omega on the ropes but Omega rakes eyes! Omega throws off sunglasses and jacket to throw hands on JB! Omega talks trash, tells JB will regret that, and then whips. JB ducks and gets around to trip Omega up! SNARE TRAP! But the Bucks run in and JB bails out! JB has guts but he won’t let The Elite get him! Will Saturday Night Dynamite be the night Omega loses the title?

Jade Cargill and Mark Sterling speak.

Smart Mark says they are thrilled that the “monetization plan” is on track and in full effect. Jade’s revenues are already up 43% across the board! And with the Law Offices of Mark Sterling on the case, they’ve stripped away all the freeloaders, hanger-ons, and bamboozlers. Jade has a family to feed, after all, and they will be fed for years to come. But that family also has expensive tastes. Jade is already a star in the wrestling business in under a year, so they’ll make sure she’s a household name.

First thing is Jade’s catchphrase. These women can’t keep it out of their mouth. Mark agrees, “That B Word” is catchy, and residuals when anyone else uses it, let’s tell everyone why Jade’s a star. “Cuz I’m… That… BITCH.” Jade is rolling in the green, but when will she get her hands on the gold?

AEW hears from Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky.

“Darby, we gave you an opportunity. All you had to do was go out and get yourself a partner that wasn’t going to do all the work for you. And just like the sensitive little child you are, you couldn’t even do that right!” Now Darby wants to take them on alone? Scorpio’s seen Darby do a lot of dumb things, from jumping off buildings to setting himself on fire. But Scorpio will be damned if this isn’t the dumbest. Ethan says actions have consequences. Darby already knows the consequences of stepping into the ring with them. But does he understand the mental consequences? They cost him his TNT Championship. What’s gonna happen when they pin him in the middle of the ring?

Darby’s already “butthurt” after the trash they talked, and he is dumb enough to sign up for a Handicap Match against the #MenOfTheYear! Bit by bit, they will chop Darby down, step on his body, and raise themselves to the next level! It is only up from here for the Men of the Year. Oh, good catchphrase. Thanks, Ethan likes it, too. But will All Ego & The Face of the Revolution like it even better after they’ve left Darby battered and bruised?

Lance Archer w/ Jake the Snake Roberts VS Chandler Hopkins!

The Murderhawk Monster is hardly ever in a good mood, but he’s in an even worse one after losing at Double or Nothing, and seeing Miro win again tonight! Chandler Hopkins rushes him at the ropes, only to get TOSSED back into the ring! Archer clamps on a choke grip, for a CHOKE- NO! Hopkins knees free, runs and springboards, but Archer CLOBBERS him out of the air! Jake the Snake applauds, Archer drags Hopkins up for the CHOKE SLAM! Archer is seething, and he grabs Hopkins. Jake starts filming this on his phone as Archer puts Hopkins up top and ROCKS him with a right hand! Inverted crucifix, BLACKOUT BOMB!! Cover, Archer wins!

Winner: Lance Archer, by pinfall

And just like that, Archer storms back to the tunnel. Archer isn’t going to enjoy his victories until he has the title that has eluded him! Will it only take a few days for him to again go after Miro and the TNT Championship?

The Wingmen speak.

The Hollywood Hunk, Ryan Nemeth, starts by telling Orange Cassidy, “You are the worst dressed wrestler in all of AEW. You look like a little kid!” JD Drake, Cezar Bononi and “Pretty” Peter Avalon agree. Nemeth says they’re offering Cassidy a spot in the Wingman Makeover Program. Avalon says there are two options: Either let the Wingmen rearrange your wardrobe, or Cezar Bononi rearranges your face! And he’ll do it, too. Will Freshly Squeezed let “Beautiful” Bononi beat him to a pulp? Or will he show them that casual is in?

Nyla Rose w/ Vickie Guerrero VS Leyla Hirsch!

The Native Beast may be a Vicious Vixen, but her opponent is #LEGIT! Vickie mockingly brings out a stepstool because Leyla is legit the shortest competitor in AEW. Leyla picks up the stepstool to TOSS it at Vickie! Will Leyla show us that everyone’s the same size when they’re on the mat?

But as soon as Leyla gets in the ring, Nyla CLOBBERS her! The bell rings, Nyla stomps Leyla and gets her up to scoop and SLAM! Fans boo but Nyla smiles as she stands Leyla up for another scoop. Leyla fights and drags Nyla down! Leyla wants the armbar but Nyla gets the ropebreak! The ref counts, Leyla lets off but comes running in to fire off forearms! Fans fire up as Leyla keeps Nyla on the ropes! The ref backs Leyla off but she SHOTGUNS Nyla out of the ring! Leyla builds speed for LEGIT TOPE into Nyla’s arms! Nyla RAMS Leyla into the apron, the knees her down! And then RAMS her into the apron again!

Nyla brings Leyla up, bumps her off the apron, then soaks up the heat. Leyla gets up, Nyla forearms her against the post! But then Leyla blocks a shot to SLAM the arm into the post! Leyla steps over to drag Nyla down for a modified armbar! But Nyla powers up to SWING Leyla into barriers! Leyla is a heap on the floor while Nyla refreshes the ring count. Nyla soaks up more heat, and she drags Leyla up to put her in the ring. Nyla stalks Leyla, stands on her head, and whips her to ropes to CLOBBER her with a full body block! Nyla runs to drop a knee! Cover, TWO! Leyla is tough but Nyla clamps onto Leyla with a claw!

AEW is picture in picture as Nyla drives elbows down into Leyla’s shoulders. Nyla drags Leyla up to choke her on the ropes! The ref counts, Nyla lets off at 4 and Vickie SLAPS Leyla behind the ref’s back! Vickie shouts at Leyla, Leyla swipes at Vickie! Nyla stomps Leyla down, but Leyla throws body shots. Nyla knees low, CLUBS Leyla down, then steps over for a mounted armbar. Nyla BITES Leyla’s fingers! The ref reprimands, Nyla stops, but then Nyla bites fingers again! Leyla gets the ropebreak and Nyla lets off. The ref watches Vickie closely but she backs off. Nyla gets Leyla up, but Leyla fights the choke grip to then fire off kicks!

Nyla blocks a kick to CLUB Leyla then TOSS her! Leyla flounders to the ropes as AEW goes to break.

AEW returns and Leyla hits a METEORA in the corner, then a SWINGING DROPKICK! Cover, TWO!! Nyla survives but fans are thunderous for Leyla! Leyla gets Nyla up in a waistlock but Nyla runs to throw Leyla off to the apron! Nyla gets Leyla up but Leyla shoulders in! Leyla goes up and slingshots to GERMAN SUPLEX!! Fans are going nuts as Leyla hits a RUNNING KNEE! Leyla fires up and aims again, springboard and LIONSAULT!! Cover, TWO!!! Nyla gets out, and even grabs ropes for good measure! Vickie is furious, Leyla stomps Nyla’s arm then shakes out her own bad arm. Leyla drags Nyla down but Nyla fights off the armbar! Nyla stacks, dead lifts, and CHOKE SLAMS!

Fans boo but Nyla looms over Leyla. Nyla drags Leyla up, reels her in and suplexes, but Nyla’s back makes that hard. Nyla gets Leyla on the ropes all the same, and goes to the corner! Nyla climbs, Leyla hops down and fires off hands on Nyla! Nyla hits back as Leyla climbs, and they brawl up top! Vickie freaks out but Nyla HEADBUTTS Leyla down! But Leyla gets right back up and fires off on Nyla! Leyla climbs to SUPER STEIN- NO! Nyla blocks, brings Leyla up, SUPER BEAST BOMB!! Cover, Nyla wins!!

Winner: Nyla Rose, by pinfall

Leyla is still legit, but Nyla is still a beast! Vickie puts one of Britt Baker’s shirts over Leyla to send a message to the AEW Women’s World Champion. Will this victory mean Nyla gets to sink her teeth into The Doctor soon enough? Speaking of…

Schiavone interviews Britt Baker and Rebel backstage.

A win for Nyla Rose after how she disrupted the celebration of The Doctor, our AEW Women’s World Champion. Britt says Schiavone’s right for once, and she was FURIOUS that Nyla ruined the fun. But then as your Role Model, Britt took a deep breath and said Nyla looked good flipping those burgers. Maybe Nyla should stick to that full-time, with some dignity. Nyla sure didn’t show Leyla any. How rude to poke fun at her height disadvantage. Bless her heart. Britt has crocodile tears as she says she’d never do that, but then brings the conversation back to herself.

Britt’s been a champion for how long and she already is the superior women’s champion in AEW history! The endorsements are flying in left and right! What did Nyla have? Nothing! But Britt will simply add Nyla to the list of “jealous bitches in the back.” Burn! And Britt knows why Nyla is coming for this: Nyla needs this. This title makes Nyla. But with Britt, she makes the title. Just like she made this division and just like she’s making a whole new era! Yours Truly, Dr. Britt Baker, DMD. But will Britt be eating those words along with her teeth when the Native Beast comes after her?

AEW Dynamite has another BIG Friday next week!

After how things went down earlier tonight, The Elite and the Elite hunters are mixing it up! Matt Jackson will be the solo Buck teaming with the Good Brothers to take on Eddie Kingston, Penta El Zero M and Frankie Kazarian! Will the Heavy Metal Rebel prove himself an asset against Don Callis’ cavalcade of creeps? And it seems Orange Cassidy has already chosen to do things the hard way! He and Bononi will throw down, with the Best Friends and The Wingmen all present at ringside! All that on top of Darby Allin’s 2v1 Handicap match, the MMA Rules Cage Fight between Hager and Wardlow, and the AEW in-ring debut of Brock Anderson as he battles alongside Cody Rhodes against The Factory’s QT & Solow!

Hangman Page & Preston Vance w/ The Dark Order VS Brian Cage & Will Hobbs w/ Team Taz!

The Anxious Millennial Cowboy and The Machine are one apiece, but before settling things on their own, Taz himself dared Hangman to take on his behemoths! Number 10 stepped up, but will he be enough to help Page stop the Pate of Rage?

Taz is furious but the Dark Order is here to celebrate! Remember to stay hydrated during the summer! But will this huge win mean huge things for both the #2 contender and Number 10?

My Thoughts:

Another great episode and it seems the Friday night streak is far from over. I don’t know why I didn’t see Darby going it alone, but I suppose it’s easier than bringing in a new name to the story. And it just seems to fit his reckless style. I feel like Darby will come really close to winning, only to lose because it is still a 2v1 and Darby can’t bury “The Men of the Year” like that. Andrade getting an interview as his next segment might work to overcome the bad image of his debut where fans were too busy booing Vickie to really acknowledge him. At the same time, his first match will do even better for him, so hopefully they give him someone he can have a great showing against, not just him squashing a jobber.

I like that Best Friends are getting a faction feud with The Wingmen, starting with Orange Cassidy and Cezar Bononi. That should be a really good match, and then we can have tag and trios matches where Cassidy, Trent & Chuck take on Bononi, Drake and Nemeth. We got a good segment with Cody, Arn, Brock and QT, and their match next week will be good, too, but I still can’t get over the odd pacing. Cody VS QT in a Strap Match should’ve been the Double or Nothing blow off, but I suppose they wanted something for their return to the road. For all of Cody being the part of AEW that outright says they don’t want to be WWE, his stuff tends to be a bit closer to WWE than he’d likely admit.

The Pinnacle have a good round of promos but something about it feels like they recycled their promos from before Double or Nothing. The Inner Circle wrecking the Pinnacle limousine was great stuff, classic wrestling trope in action there. Hager VS Wardlow in the MMA cage is going to be pretty good stuff, and obviously we have all the individual feuds set up. I have a feeling things will end up tied, 2-2 (FTR VS PNP is a tag match after all), and then we’ll get a third faction 5v5, maybe at All Out to finally settle things. It could even be a 5v5 Elimination Tag so it has to come down to the last men, and we’d get a sole survivor for the fans to pop for. Probably Sammy or Jericho in that situation.

Christian VS Angelico was a good opener, but it was mostly the story of Hardy wanting to take Christian out that sold it. Christian of course finds a way to win but Hardy won’t let him enjoy it, cuing Jungle Boy to save Christian. Jurassic Express makes for a great opponent to the Hardy Family Office, or perhaps in this case a Hardy & TH2 trio. Not to be mean to JB, but it still doesn’t feel like he’s going to win, even if he’s facing Omega on a special Saturday Dynamite. The totally biased video from The Elite was hilarious, and the promo turned brawl with Omega and JB was great. We all love JB, and Omega is right that JB will be champion some day, but that day is not June 26th, 2021.

The trios match of Elite and Elite Hunters, as Excalibur put it, was great stuff, and of course the Elite Heels it up. Kaz showing up was great, I knew he’d be joining in at some point. The next trios match is going to be great, but I feel like they could’ve even upped this to an 8 Man Tag. Maybe they’ll save that for the big, month long streak they’re planning in July. Another two-night Fyter Fest and the return of the Fight for the Fallen is great, and I like that they’re making the very first night special, too. I’m sure their return to Wednesdays will be treated as a big deal, too, after all this schedule preempting because of the NBA.

Miro had a great TNT Championship match, and certainly Uno’s best match in AEW. But Miro winning makes sense. He could easily go on a streak of facing the Dark Order and give us more great matches like this. Archer annihilates his opponent, I’m surprised they had time to mention the other guy’s name. I feel like Miro and Archer really could have another match and make it even better than DON. Nyla VS Leyla was great stuff, but given Nyla is first up against Britt, of course she wins. Britt also had a good promo to further that, and I bet they’ll have it out during July’s marathon of awesome Dynamites. Maybe one of the Fyter Fests since that’ll be AEW’s return to, well, anywhere that isn’t Florida.

Hangman & Vance VS Cage & Hobbs was awesome stuff, made for a great main event, and the implosion of Team Taz is almost complete! Starks pushes the Heel tactics of blatantly cheating but Cage refuses, and unless Starks is cleared to compete by July, I think Taz will make Hobbs the proxy to face Cage. It’d be lame if Taz strips Cage of the FTW Championship, but Taz is the one who gave him the title, so it’d be in his power to do it. Hangman should still be fighting for it against Cage in their tiebreaker, but maybe Hangman shifts over to the TNT or world title, since I’ve been feeling that’s his end goal by All Out. Vance himself should be on Miro’s list, and could come the closest to taking that title since Miro took it from Darby.

My Score: 9.3/10

The fans are torn as Shibata sits cross-legged in the ring while the count climbs. Shibata decides to go back out after Ospreay and put him in the ring. The fans rally and duel, Shibata stomps Ospreay around, then gets the legs to stomp. Shibata steps right through to the FIGURE FOUR! Ospreay blocks the main leg but Shibata powers through! Ospreay sits Shibata up and they start throwing forearms! The leglock is let go so Shibata can CLUB Ospreay! Ospreay CHOPS! And CHOPS! And CHOPS! Shibata fires a forearm, shoots around, SAIDO! Ospreay writhes again and the fans rally up as Dynamite goes picture in picture!

Shibata dusts himself off, drags Ospreay to center, and again steps through, only for Ospreay to again block the main leg! Shibata powers through to have the FIGURE FOUR! Ospreay endures, reaches out, but Shibata puts the pressure on! Ospreay falls back, but that makes this a cover, TWO and Ospreay sits back up! Ospreay works to turn things over but Shibata works to stop him! Ospreay tires again, and again, and he turns the hold over! Now Shibata endures! Shibata turns things right back over, but Ospreay has the ROPEBREAK! Shibata lets the hold go so he can shake out his own legs.

Shibata drops a knee on Ospreay’s knee! Ospreay goes to a corner, Shibata CHOPS! And CHOPS! Ospreay falls to his knees, so Shibata CLUBS him! Ospreay glares at Shibata so Shibata CHOPS and ROCKS him! An instant classic to say the least, these two showed how elite Strong Style can be! But in the end, the Aerial Assassin avenges his defeat seven years ago! Ospreay shows Shibata respect with the deep bow, and Shibata returns it. Ospreay certainly looks ready for Bryan Danielson, but will he be able to slay The American Dragon and establish his Dynasty?

AEW takes a closer look at Bryan Danielson.

Excalibur narrates that you can ask any professional wrestler who is the greatest technician of this or any generation, and one name is on the list: Bryan Danielson. This unassuming kid from Aberdeen, Washington who traveled the world to become an all-time wrestling icon began his journey under the tutelage of Shawn Michaels, and The American Dragon was born. He made his name in the independent circuit before landing in ROH, where for nearly a decade, Bryan laid the promotion’s groundwork as a Founding Father of Honor. Bryan would main event from the very first event to winning multiple world championships.

Bryan would also go global with NJPW, and eventually WWE. But at the height of his career, having become one of the most decorated champions in pro-wrestling history, Bryan had what he loved above all else ripped away. Years of sacrifice for the sport that is his life left Bryan medically unable to compete. Yet, through unflinching determination to regain his ultimate passion, Bryan would fight the steepest of odds and make his in-ring return after three years away. And then in 2021, he shocked the world when he made his AEW debut, showing again why he is an all-time great, and testing the limits of his body against the best pro-wrestlers in the world today.

Bryan himself said he “will not go gently into that good night.” If this is his last year, he is calling his shots! This will be the most epic year of his career. And that means checking off the dream match of American Dragon VS Aerial Assassin! Who will prove they are THE best in the world today?

Backstage interview with The Young Bucks.

Renee Paquette is with the AEW EVPs, Matthew & Nicholas Jackson. Tonight, they are in action in the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament against a team that defeated them in the inaugural- Nick gets mad already and claims this is some kind of ambush! Such negativity! Unprofessional, Renee! Is this how she conducts all her other interviews? Where is Alex Marvez? Nick would rather Marvez conduct this interview, he’s also better looking. Matt calms Nick down and says they’ll circle back to that question. What they do want to talk about is that they returned to AEW a couple months ago, with some goals and objectives.

The first one being, well, retiring “Sting’s old ass.” Did that! Second goal: Restructuring The Elite. And how’d they do that? Well, they made some room and brought in The Rainmaker, Kazuchika Okada! By the way, did you see Okada’s big Continental Championship win last week? Holy crap that was awesome! And all on his own. Big surprise to everyone backstage, but of course Okada did that fair and square! Just like The Bucks will win tonight! They asked Rainmaker, come, chill out in the back, they’ve got this. But to the question, the biggest goal, the most important one out of everything, is to get their AEW World Tag Team Championships back.

And Renee mentioned the upset last time that ruined Matt’s entire life for an entire year. What do you do to right that wrong? You beat them back! You beat Private Party! See, lightning never strikes twice! And The Bucks will be one step closer to getting their titles back. Let’s have a great show, Renee’s doing awesome, fist bump. But one note: Maybe try smiling more. That’s all. Matt heads out and Nick still prefers Marvez. But will The Bucks really make up for the past? Or will history simply repeat itself?

Kazuchika Okada arrives in style!

Still driving the red Ferrari, the NEW Continental Champion is here to watch his pals in action.

AEW Double or Nothing is returning to Las Vegas!

The ref misses all this because he’s arguing with Kassidy!

The ref finally looks over and Nick lets off, then they argue and that allows Matt to scuff Quen. Nick tags Matt in, they get Quen up and whip, but Quen reverses to send Nick to the corner! The fans fire up, Matt rushes Kassidy but gets a HOTSHOT STUNNER for it! Quen runs up to SIDE EFFECT! The fans fire up and rally as Quen crawls, hot tag to Brother Zay! Kassidy dodges Matt, to HOTSHOT STUNNER Nick! Kassidy CLOBBERS Matt, CLOBBERS him again, then whips him to ropes.

Matt reverses, Kassidy slides out and avoids Nick, but is put back on the apron! Kassidy RAMS into Matt, mule kicks Nick, GAMANGIRIS Matt, then blows a kiss before he ASAI MOONSAULTS Nick down! The fans are thunderous as Kassidy gets back up to springboard and CROSSBODY onto Matt! Cover, TWO!! Matt survives and Kassidy is surprised! Quebec rallies for Private Party as Kassidy stalks Matt. Kassidy says “DELETE! DELETE!” and Matt stands, into the kick! TWIST OF- NO, Matt shoves Kassidy away, and Nick trips him up! Matt CLOBBERS Kassidy while fans boo. Matt drags Kassidy up and he tags in Nick.

The Bucks put Kassidy up top, CLUB him, and then climb up after him. Matt has the cravat, Nick is underneath, SLICED BREAD BOMB!! Cover, QUEN BREAKS IT! The fans fire up, Matt runs back in, but Quen dodges to PELE! Matt falls, flounders his way over to Nick, and Quen drags Kassidy to the Private Party corner. BREAKING NEWS for Collision!

For starters, it’s back! Live this Saturday, 8 PM Eastern, and with the other AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarterfinals! The Infantry overcame The House of Black with help from Mark Briscoe, but now they’re looking to say yeah to beating FTR! Will Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo be marching into the semifinals? Or will Dax & Cash prove they’re still Top Guys? And in their big return to action (no pun intended), Ricky Starks & “Big Bill” Morrissey take on Top Flight’s Dante & Darius Martin! Will this tournament soon be Absolute? Or will Angel Dorado & Air Wolf book themselves a flight to the semifinals?

Don Callis speaks.

“Tonight, Swerve’s House comes tumbling down. A tornado known as The Alpha, Konosuke Takeshita, is coming. Swerve, our résumé is very clear: We beat Kenny Omega not once but twice; we destroyed Chris Jericho; we destroyed Darby Allin. You wanna bring Prince Nana and the little back-up dance, you go right ahead. You are standing between us and what we want. I am so sick of hearing about Swerve’s House, this little fantasy you’ve constructed for yourself, because you see, your house is on my street. Your house is in the Don Callis Family’s neighborhood. And all those houses are mine. I take what I want, and then I take a little more.

“And tonight, Takeshita is gonna take everything from you, including your opportunity to become the #1 contender. Tonight, the Alpha burns it all down.” Callis has promised big things, but will Takeshita live up to these great expectations?

Mercedes Mone arrives backstage!

The CEO arrives in style, struts her way to gorilla, and is going to join commentary for this star-studded #1 contender’s match in the women’s division!

AEW hears from Darby Allin.

He’s hanging out with THE Tony Hawk pro-skater, and notes that originally, he was hoping to climb Mount Everest right about now for Tony’s charity, The Skatepark Project, but uh… broke his foot. So does Tony wanna tell us about the project? Of course. This is a foundation to bring public skate parks to underserved areas, operating for over 20 years now. They’ve funded the creation of almost NINE HUNDRED skate parks in that time, and it is important to Tony because it was never lost on him how lucky he was to have a skatepark to go to as a kid. It was his place of belonging and community, where he cut his teeth, and he wants to give that same access to skater kids all over the world.

Darby adds that he wouldn’t be here without skateboarding, so this cause means the world to him. If you wanna donate, just go to Skatepark.org to help out. Darby can’t climb a mountain, but this is Plan B. Darby lets his foot be part of Tony’s handstand grab in the halfpipe! We wish Darby a speedy recovery, and we hope the Skatepark Project has even greater success.

Backstage interview with Hook and Chris Jericho.

Renee is with the FTW Champion and The Ocho, and first congratulates Hook on that big win over Jericho last week. Renee brings up Jericho having a proposition for Hook, so what is up? Jericho says what’s up is that a few weeks ago, he said he wanted to see what it was like to face Hook 1v1, to see if Hook is as good as the people say. And after having that match, Hook exceeded expectations. Right out of the gate, he suplexed Jericho right on his head and he didn’t let off. Hook got his first pinfall win, and off Jericho, and Jericho is okay with that. Jericho is proud of Hook, because he saw some things he never had before.

Jericho’s never had a wrestling school, never managed anyone, but he’s also never been in the ring with someone like Hook. Hook’s skills are so highly tuned yet still raw. So Jericho wants to say that after 33 years in the business, if Hook wants any advice from Jericho, Jericho will gladly help sharpen Hook’s skills so he can be the world champion Jericho knows Hook can be. So like he said, if Hook wants his advice, Jericho is here for him. Hook appreciates the praise, and of course he’ll take that advice. He’s Chris Jericho. But being Chris Jericho, Hook knows who Jericho is. Okay, that’s fair. And Jericho knows who Hook is, and more importantly, who Hook can be.

Jericho offers a fist bump, Hook accepts, and Hook says, “Let’s get it.” Jericho says yeah, let’s get it, and he also fist bumps Renee. With The Wizard now his mentor, is it only a matter of time before the Cold Hearted Handsome Devil goes for the top prize in AEW?

Backstage interview with Dustin Rhodes.

Renee is with The Natural, and says he is currently 3-1 in 2024. Every time he steps back inside the ring, he reminds us all just how much of a badass he is. What is next for Dustin? He does feel he’s started 2024 with a bang. “Everybody on this roster is very, very talented. Every single match I’ve had here in five years has been really, really good. Bangers, all of ’em. Nothing’s different. Surprisingly, right now, at 55 years old, I’m still as passionate as I have ever been.” But then in steps The Butcher, belittling what Dustin is saying. Well what does Butcher want? He heard Dustin wants a fight. Oof, Butcher, your breath…

Butcher says it’s his mustache, it has its own musk. But look him in the eyes. Dustin wants a match? Remember that Bunkhouse Match? Oh yeah he does. Then how about Friday on Rampage, Dustin and Butcher cash some receipts? Oh, Butcher wants receipts? He thinks Dustin’s just some stepping stone? Oh absolutely. Well, if you want it, then you got it. Friday Night Rampage it is! But just remember this: You’re gonna find out why Dustin is The Natural Born Legend. Everyone loves Dustin, even Canada. Butcher can’t wait. This is gonna be quite the shootout, but will it be a good Friday for the living legend?

“Timeless” Toni Storm visited Turner Classic Movies!

Ben Mankiewicz introduces himself and then congratulates Toni Storm for not only being AEW Women’s World Champion, but also for “helping redefine the artistry of professional wrestling.” Toni says that’s so sweet. And she congratulates Ben on… whatever it is he does around TCM. One small note, though: crispen your annunciation. No one says “crispen” in America really, but sure, he’ll work on it. Now repeat after her. Chin up. Chin up. Tits out. Uh, no, he won’t say that. And watch for the shoe~! What? She tosses her shoe over her shoulder as she leaves, and now he understands. But will AEW’s leading lady continue to be a modern classic even through Dynasty?

Swerve Strickland speaks.

“Tonight comes down to Swerve and Takeshita, to be ranked number one. Now we all know, to be truly number one in the pro-wrestling industry, you gotta hold the AEW World Championship gold. And that is Samoa Joe. Takeshita, you’ve been probably one of the best competitors I’ve ever seen over the last couple months. You’ve been doing your thing. But our motivation’s been vastly different. Mine is for something bigger than me, and that’s history. I’m not taking this lightly. So Takeshita, after I get past you, it’s me and Samoa Joe, one on one, no distractions.”

Swerve then tells Joe, “I didn’t forget what you did to me. And when I finally get you one on one for that championship, you’ll never forget what I do to you.” Swerve’s House is ready, but will this soon be Swerve’s Dynasty?

Oh wait, Best Friends HUG, only for the Bucks to interrupt! Matthew & Nicholas are making sure everyone remembers the EVPs still have the power. But apparently not the power to make the Codyvator- er, EVP Lift, go any faster. Will Cassidy & Trent make the inaugural Dynasty PPV Freshly Squeezed? Or will the Bucks prove blood is thicker than Orange Punch?

Backstage interview with Kyle O’Reilly.

Renee is now with #CombatKyle and congratulates him on his big return win a couple weeks ago on Collision. How did it feel to finally be back in that ring? Kyle says you can prepare yourself mentally and physically, but there’s no way to get ready for what it’s actually like to get in that ring in front of a live crowd and pull it off. It felt good to rip the Band-aid off, it really did. But it is a deep, deep roster here in AEW, and there is no such thing as an easy match. True, so let’s talk Undisputed Kingdom. They came out there to celebrate with him, is he having any second thoughts on doing this alone?

Kyle says he loves those guys, but no, no regrets. He did it on his own in his return, he’ll do it on his own this week. Collision in London, Ontario, Kyle proves he belongs. Kyle is ready to chase the dragon, but will he be able to keep this going all on his own?

Adam “Edge” Copeland speaks.

The Rated R Superstar was backstage after Dynamite last week, and he said, “When you decide to dedicate your life to this, you dream of nights like this. Your hometown, against a man that you’ve known for 40 years, to hear that audience, to hear them sing my music to me. It’s one of those nights that I’ll take with me to the grave.” Edge is sore, bloody, but he got the TNT Championship. This feels like the first time he’s properly won a title since 2011. “Tonight, it felt like that chapter closed. That 40 year story is closed. It’s time to move on. It’s time for me to defend this TNT Championship. Collision, London, the Cope Open’s back.

“To anybody who wants to step up, feel free. There’s more at stake now, too, and I don’t plan on losing it any time soon.” Collision is about to get Rated R in its return, who looks to go toe to toe with the NEW Face of TNT?

MORE breaking news for Collision!

On top of the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament, on top of The Cope Open, there will be a BIG Six Man Tag! Lance Archer & The Righteous tried to tear down the Swiss Superman, but now he’s got back-up! Bryan Danielson & Katsuyori Shibata are teaming with Claudio Castagnoli to take the fight to Vincent, Dutch & the Murderhawk Monster! Will this Collision prove #EverybodyDies? Or will The Wrestler make a great fit alongside the Blackpool Combat Club?

AEW World Championship #1 Contender’s Match: Swerve Strickland w/ Prince Nana VS Konosuke Takeshita w/ Don Callis!

We have heard from The Realest, and we heard from the head of the Don Callis Family. The time for talk is over, only actions can prove your worth! There can be only one, so who will be THE ONE that faces Samoa Joe in St. Louis?

The bell rings and of course Callis joins commentary, saying the French Canadians are outta control. Nana gets everyone chanting, “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” as Swerve and Takeshita circle. They stare down, and Swerve surprisingly offers a handshake. Takeshita surprisingly takes it, but then neither man lets go. They use that as part of the grapple, and they move around to find openings. Swerve steps over, headlocks, but Takeshita wrenches out. Takeshita grinds the shoulder, Swerve trips Takeshita and has the leg, and then floats to headlock. Takeshita slips out the back to waistlock.

Takeshita shoots the half nelson for the cover, ONE as Swerve goes Matrix! The fans applaud the exchange as the two reset. Callis admits Swerve is a great athlete with sneaky strength, but Takeshita is still the best rope to rope wrestler in the company. The two tie up, Swerve headlocks, but Takeshita knuckle locks through to power up and put Swerve on the ropes. Takeshita lets off slowly, but then lands a cheap shot! The ref reprimands, Takeshita whips, but Swerve flips up and around and stares Takeshita down! Takeshita runs in, Swerve sunset flips, but Takeshita stays up. Swerve goes Matrix again to avoid the fist drop, and he rolls Takeshita up, TWO!

Swerve doesn’t let Takeshita go far, he floats around and rolls him for a short arm scissor! Takeshita hurries to the ROPEBREAK! Swerve lets go quickly and Callis admits Swerve has incredibly smooth transitions. The fans rally up, Takeshita rushes in but Swerve dodges to mule kick! Swerve whips Takeshita, Takeshita ducks ‘n’ dodges to TAKESHITA LINE! The fans are torn but Takeshita soaks up the heat. Swerve checks his jaw, and we see Samoa Joe watching backstage. Is Joe upset Swerve is struggling or angrily hoping Swerve loses? Takeshita storms up on Swerve, ROCKS him, then has him in a corner.

Takeshita digs boots in, the ref counts, and Swerve does his best to kick at Takeshita, but Takeshita lets off with a stomp. Takeshita whips, Swerve reverses and UPPERCUTS! Swerve then snapmares Takeshita to go up and FALLING UPPERCUT! The fans fire up and Swerve hits the Griddy! Callis says Swerve needs to learn, you don’t pander to the fans! Swerve drops a knee on Takeshita’s face, then clamps on with a chinlock. Takeshita fights up quickly but Swerve throws body shots. Swerve puts Takeshita in ropes, fires more body shots, then turns him for a NECKBREAKER HOTSHOT!

Takeshita writhes and flops to the apron while the fans rally up. Swerve drags Takeshita in, kneels on the cover, TWO! Swerve keeps cool and drags Takeshita up. Takeshita fires a forearm! Swerve gives it back, Takeshita gives another, and Swerve throws another! Takeshita grabs Swerve by the hair to Muay Thai KNEE him! Takeshita kicks, Swerve blocks, and Swerve slips around to clinch and BACKBREAKER! Swerve rolls into the facelock, but Takeshita suplexes first! BRAINBUSTER! Takeshita snarls while fans boo, and Swerve goes to a corner. The ref checks Swerve, Swerve says he’s fine but hard to say, and Takeshita storms over.

Takeshita brushes the ref aside, puts Swerve in a corner and he rains down forearms! Callis likes what he sees as Takeshita grinds the forearm in Swerve’s face. The ref counts, Takeshita lets off at 4, and Swerve clutches a shoulder. Takeshita drags Swerve up, ROCKS him, and Swerve leans against ropes to stay up. Takeshita stands Swerve up to ROCK him again, but Swerve SLAPS back! Takeshita fires a flurry of forearms, then runs in, only for Swerve to sidestep! SNAP GERMAN! But Takeshita’s right up to DECK Swerve! Swerve flops out of the ring and Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Takeshita shakes out his arms and scowls while the ring count climbs. Swerve is still down at 4 of 10 but Nana slaps the steps to rally the fans. Takeshita goes out to fetch Swerve, and he hammerlocks the bad arm to POST it! Swerve falls in a heap and Takeshita storms up on him, but the ref says to get this back in the ring. Takeshita drags Swerve up, puts him in the ring, then has Swerve under the ropes for the ROPE GUILLOTINE! Swerve sputters, goes to a corner, but he scowls as he works on the bad arm. Takeshita paces, Swerve turns around, into a HELLUVA KICK! Takeshita hauls Swerve up to scoop and SLAM!

Takeshita goes up the corner, soaks up the heat, and then SUPER SENTONS! Kneeling cover, TWO! Takeshita gives Swerve a taste of what he did earlier, but then drags him into a chinlock. Takeshita grinds Swerve down, even steps over to trap a leg, but Swerve still endures. Swerve reaches out, but then Takeshita pushes him down for a NECK TWIST! Takeshita then goes back for the chinlock, adding a rear mount for more leverage. Swerve still endures and Dynamite returns to single picture. The fans rally up, Swerve fights to his feet, but Takeshita pulls hair to wrangle Swerve back down! So Swerve twists Takeshita’s nose!

The fans rally, the ref reprimands both guys, so Swerve lets go to CHOP! Takeshita winds up to ROCK Swerve! Swerve ROCKS Takeshita, they go back and forth faster and faster! Takeshita winds up to ROCK Swerve again! Swerve leans on ropes again, Takeshita runs in, but Swerve TOSSES Takeshita up and out! Swerve then builds speed, and HANDSPRING RANAS! Swerve still managed that move even with the bad arm, and he puts Takeshita back in. Swerve goes up, Takeshita turns around, CROSSBODY! Cover, ONE!! Callis says that sends a message there, and Swerve definitely looks frustrated.

Swerve goes back to Takeshita to drag him up and fire fast hands! And even some kicks! Swerve winds up, but the bad shoulder holds him back! Takeshita DECKS Swerve again!! The ref checks Swerve as Swerve is in a daze, and Callis says to just call it now. But also, Callis wants Takeshita to show no mercy! Takeshita runs up, Swerve ducks the lariat! Swerve waistlocks, Takeshita switches and shoves Swerve to the apron, then Takeshita runs up. Swerve RAMS into Takeshita, but the shoulder hurts more! Swerve still goes up and over to get in, somersault, but into the fireman’s carry! LANDSLIDE! SHOTGUN BOOT!

Swerve tumbles out, the fans boo Takeshita as he builds speed, but Takeshita FLIES! Direct hit at the ramp and the fans can’t help but fire up! Takeshita hopes Joe saw that, and the fans rally for “A E DUB! A E DUB!” Takeshita drags Swerve up and around to go up the steel steps and to the apron. Takeshita grins as he steps back in with Swerve, and then Takeshita goes up the corner. Takeshita drags Swerve up and he wants to repeat Revolution! But Swerve throws hands to fight that off, and he then SLAPS Takeshita! And SLAPS! And SLAPS! Takeshita HEADBUTTS Swerve down! But Swerve takes out the legs!

Takeshita snarls as Swerve stirs. Swerve slowly rises, Takeshita brings him around for boxing elbows! Then he ROCKS Swerve again! Swerve leans on the ropes again, Takeshita grabs at him, but Swerve hooks free with his leg to ROCK Takeshita with a right of his own! Takeshita sits back, shakes out the stars, and Swerve nods. Swerve runs up, blocks a boot, and he yanks Takeshita, somersault into the JUMP KNEE! Swerve ends up in a corner, but he goes up and over as Takeshita runs in! O’Conner but then EDDY GORDO RANA! Takeshita stands, into the SOMERSAULT FLATLINER! Cover, TWO!! Takeshita survives and Callis is worried now!

Swerve goes to the corner and fans fire up as he goes up! Swerve takes aim for the- Wait, Takeshita bails out to the apron. Swerve just adjusts to APRON KILL STOMP!!! Swerve hauls Takeshita up, half nelson, BIG PRESSURE DRIVER!!! Cover, Swerve wins!!

Winner: Swerve Strickland, by pinfall (NEW #1 Contender to the AEW World Championship)

Quebec is thunderous, Callis is upset, and from the looks of it, Samoa Joe is also unhappy he’ll have to face Swerve 1v1. Renee even walks over to ask him how he feels about having said 1v1 match with Swerve. Joe says, “How do I feel? What’s baffling to me is how he’s feeling right now. This is a man celebrating the biggest fate he’s ever gonna catch in his life. And next week, Swerve, when you walk down to that ring and you sign on the dotted line, I am gonna make sure that you UNDERSTAND what you are asking for. You think you’re ready? No. No. You’re not that man.” The King of Wrestling Television storms off, but will he lose his throne to Swerve’s Dynasty?

My Thoughts:

A great Dynamite here, so much great build towards Dynasty. Amazing opening match from Ospreay VS Shibata, great win from Ospreay so that he’ll be ready for Bryan, and then good move following it up with a career retrospective type hype video on Bryan. Awesome #1 contender’s Fatal 4 for the TBS Championship. We didn’t really get any fighting between Kris and Willow, which is actually quite clever, and great win for Willow. Julia of course goes after her, but I feel like that indicates Julia is losing the title and Willow will carry this belt in a feud with Mercedes Mone.

Really good promo from Dustin Rhodes and The Butcher to set up their match on Rampage, and I like that someone finally brought up the Bunkhouse match again. Really good little promo from Kyle O’Reilly to make it clear he’s having another match. And I like that AEW let Darby help plug Tony Hawk’s charity, I’m not even a skater but I appreciate them wanting to help all these kids out there who are or want to be. Good promo from Jericho and Hook to set up not a match but a manager-client relationship. You’d hope Jericho is going to be an honest manager but just as Hook implied, there is always a chance Jericho turns on Hook and we still get them fighting for the FTW title.

Great promo from Edge to give us his feelings after that big win in the I Quit match but to also pivot things towards the Cope Open’s return, just as I was hoping. A bit redundant, though, as they kinda snuck in the announcement during one of the tag matches. They should really just understand what the plan for the show is before having commentary bother with saying stuff like that. Anyway, the Cope Open is going to be awesome, can’t wait to see who becomes Edge’s first defense that he’ll of course win. And great though rather random bit with Toni Storm and Ben Mankiewicz, she didn’t even mention Deonna Purrazzo or Thunder Rosa. Maybe Tony Khan’s still writing that stuff.

A great promo from The Bucks with Renee to lead into their match with Private Party, and that was an awesome match. Of course The Bucks win, both because they’re definitely heading for the titles and they were going to get their win back after all these years. Best Friends VS The Kingdom was also great stuff, and I really liked Best Friends turning the cheat around on The Kingdom. Cassidy & Trent VS Bucks is going to be great, too, but as I’ve said before, this tournament has to be leading to Bucks VS FTR Round 4. FTR will beat Infantry, then beat winner of Top Flight VS Starks & Morrissey, Dynasty will add to AEW’s biggest tag team rivalry.

And of course, awesome stuff in the AEW World Championship story. Great promo from Callis and Swerve, amazing main event from Swerve VS Takeshita, like PPV level in itself. Swerve of course wins, and Samoa Joe had a great promo to respond to it. That contract signing segment will definitely be some good stuff, and their 1v1 match at Dynasty will be match of the year level for sure.

My Score: 9/10

PLAY BY PLAY

Bullet Club Gold speaks.

They have a skeleton prop with the sign, “Darby On Everest.” It even has a taped up foot! The BCG is having a BBQ poolside in someone’s backyard, and Colten says, “As you can see, The Bang Bang Gang is not in miserable Toronto. We are in sunny Florida.” Sun’s up, guns up! And the reason why is because they handled some Big Business last week. Jay White saved a man’s life! That’s what they’re calling breaking Darby’s foot? Colten says Jay even saved Max Caster’s rap career and Anthony Bowens’ modeling career. The Gunns once took the tag titles from The Acclaimed, so how about they take the AEW Trios titles?

Austin says as far as their old dog of a dad goes, how did he not see this coming given their relationship? Maybe this time, they take Billy out back and put him out to pasture. They don’t need him anymore! Jay finishes cooking and says yeah, they don’t need Daddy Ass. White’s taking care of these boys, just like he’s taken care off this new friend with a fresh coat of gold~! He’s painted Sting’s baseball bat to give it a much-needed sprucing up. White isn’t an artist like Darby, but maybe Darby can give White some pointers seeing as how White saved his life from that mountain. Now Darby is free to do almost anything he wants.

White says “almost” because Darby won’t be climbing Everest this year. Darby will train, his foot will heal, and maybe next year or the year after, maybe then Darby can try and conquer the mountain to breathe that Everest air. But just ask The Acclaimed & Daddy Ass, White is bigger than Everest! Darby will not conquer him, and he will NOT Breathe with the Switchblade! Then they all shout at the prop Darby as it rides down the water slide and into the pool. Darby, no~! The BCG is joking around now, but will all their enemies be having the last laugh?

Renee Paquette is on stage.

She welcomes us to Rampage, and then welcomes out her guest, The Acclaimed! The fans fire up as Caster & Bowens make their entrance, sans Billy. Max oddly references the other Max by saying, “Cut my music, cut my music. Yo!” “Yo!” “Yo!” “Yo!” “YO!” “YO!” “Listen…! We should’ve known. We should’ve known. Last week, The Bang Bang Gang, our former partners, attacked us right in that ring, left us laying, and as you can see, only two of the Trios Champs are here tonight. Billy Gunn not even cleared to travel after what happened to him last week.” Fans boo and Caster says Billy got hit in the head by The Switchblade.

Let’s hear how you feel about that! Let them hear you, Toronto! Toronto boos Jay White, and Caster says he feels the same, and apparently White feels the same about Toronto! White didn’t even wanna show up tonight in Toronto. But Acclaimed show up even when they’re demoralized, when they get attacked, when they get hurt, because they don’t get scared. And Jay, you are pretty scared. Caster would be scared too if he was some light heavyweight pretend tough guy who hides behind his Ass Boys! The fans chant “ASS~ BOYS! ASS~ BOYS!” Caster says White thinks he saved Darby’s life? Allow Caster to “save” White then.

Caster offers a one-way, first class ticket to anywhere he wants to go. Back home to New Zealand, back to Japan, it doesn’t matter, so long as it is not AEW. And if White is smart, he’d take the offer, but he won’t because he ain’t smart. Wanna know how Caster knows White ain’t smart? “How?” “Because only a stupid person would piss off the best wrestler alive! Only a stupid person piss off The Acclaimed. And when you bring your stupid ass back here with your Ass Boys, we’ll be there to ruin your life and hunt you down!”

Bowens adds, “And Toronto, I apologize if I’m not the happy-go-lucky Bowens that you’re used to. But I’m pissed off! Because there’s three people that didn’t have the BALLS to show up to Canada. Instead, they showed some video, sitting by the pool, talking about the trios titles and Darby. And it didn’t really make much sense to me until I realized, there’s a little bit more to that. And that is that there’s a teeny tiny part of you that deep down knows that you guys are not elite enough! Austin, Colten, there is a beautiful video package highlighting the beautiful history of the AEW tag team titles, and you weren’t good enough to be in it!

“Jay White, maybe you should’ve listened to the internet and signed some place else, because you brought your raggedy ass all the way over here, you went through the Continental Classic, and you LOST! You got a shot at the AEW World Heavyweight Championship, and you LOST to MJF with one leg! And the only reason why you’re holding a title around your waist is because The Acclaimed helped you. YOU need to stop blaming everyone else for your shortcomings, and YOU need to blame yourself! You are NOT a savior, you are NOT a catalyst, you are a coward, and I am counting down the days until we beat your ass silly!”

The fans fire up and Bowens says here’s something they need to see. Cameraman, swing around. Toronto! Throw those scissors high in the air! The fans join in, then Bowens says put the index finger down, and join them in showing the Bang Bang Gang how you really feel! Jay, the Acclaimed never needed you, they never will! This is the only gang they need! Because EVERYONE loves The Acclaimed!! The intensity has been turned up to eleven, will Caster, Bowens & Billy cut down Bullet Club Gold once and for all?

AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Wild Card: Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta VS “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs & Kyle Fletcher!

This Freshly Squeezed combination for Best Friends has been making it work! They’re 3-0 between both AEW and ROH, but this fourth match is the one that matters most! Will they be moving on to the quarterfinals to go after The Undisputed Kingdom? Or will the Don Callis Family look to start Rampage strong with the first win of this unique combination?

The teams sort out and Cassidy starts against Hobbs. The fans rally up as Cassidy puts his hands up. Cassidy reaches for his pockets, but Hobbs runs up! Cassidy dodges, swings, but Hobbs dodges the Orange Punch to SPINEBUSTER! Cover, Trent breaks it! Fletcher kicks Trent and CLUBS him down, then Hobbs helps mug him. They TOSS Trent out, Fletcher goes out after him, and then he and Hobbs RAM Trent into railing! Both men leave Trent behind, but Cassidy DIVES! Hobbs catches Cassidy to SLAM him on the apron! And SLAM, and SLAM! Hobbs shoves Cassidy in, talks trash, and Cassidy crawls.

Hobbs aims, runs corner to corner, and SPLASHES! Cassidy falls, Hobbs soaks up the heat, and he mockingly puts his hands in his straps. Hobbs hauls Cassidy up to whip him to another corner, but Cassidy dodges and the SPLASH hits buckles! Hobbs tumbles up and out to the floor! Fletcher hurries in but Cassidy boots him away, hot tag to Trent! Trent dodges Fletcher, drops then STANDING METEORA! Fletcher stands, Trent clotheslines him up and out! Fletcher and Hobbs regroup, Trent climbs, and Trent SUPER CANNONBALLS! Direct hit and the fans fire up! Trent then puts Hobbs in the ring and hurries after him.

Trent CHOPS Hobbs, CHOPS again, then CHOPS again! Fletcher runs in but is sent into Hobbs! GERMAN SUPLEX for Fletcher, then Trent forearms Hobbs! Trent runs to ELBOW Fletcher, then reels Fletcher in, TORNADO- NO, Fletcher blocks that, hands Trent off to Hobbs, and then Hobbs pops Trent up! PENDULUM BOMB! The fans boo while the Family hugs it out, NOT what the people want as Rampage goes picture in picture.

Hobbs rains down forearms on Trent, then paces. Hobbs drags Trent up, scoops him, and hits a BIG sidewalk slam! Trent writhes, Hobbs covers, TWO! Hobbs keeps Trent from Cassidy, tags in Fletcher, and they mug Trent. Fletcher soaks up the heat and pretends he can’t hear the fans. Fletcher taunts Cassidy, goes back to Trent, and he bumps Trent off buckles. Fletcher stands Trent up to KICK low! Then he stands Trent up so he can KICK again! Fletcher whips corner to corner hard and Trent falls to his knee! Rampage returns to single picture, the fans rally for “BEST FRIENDS! BEST FRIENDS!” but Fletcher fireman’s carries.

Trent slips free and he TORNADO DDTS! The fans fire up while Fletcher flounders away! Trent crawls, Hobbs runs in! Trent TOSSES Hobbs, then hot tags Cassidy! Cassidy climbs to CROSSBODY Fletcher! Cassidy keeps going, eh DIVES and takes out Hobbs! Cassidy hurries back in, dodges Fletcher, and tilt-o-whirl DDTS! Cover, Hobbs breaks it! Hobbs goes to his corner, Fletcher hurries over, and Fletcher tags Hobbs. Hobbs runs up but into a SUPERKICK! Hobbs stays up! And he ROCKS Cassidy with a forearm! Hobbs keeps Cassidy from falling, then torture racks! Hobbs bends Cassidy, Fletcher intercepts Trent!

Trent spins things around to POST Fletcher, then he fires forearms on Hobbs! Hobbs doesn’t flinch so Trent fires more shots! Cassidy goes to sunset flip, Hobbs stays up! He eggs Trent on, so Trent BUSAIKU KNEES Hobbs into the sunset high stack! TWO!! Hobbs escapes, but Cassidy “unleashes” the kicks! Then he stomps and stomps and stomps! The fans fire up but Hobbs blocks one to SHOVE Cassidy down! Then he CLOBBERS Cassidy! Fans boo but Hobbs tags Fletcher. Fletcher watches Cassidy flounder to a corner, then he runs corner to corner to forearm! Trent runs up but Fletcher gets around to HALF ‘N’ HALF!

Trent ends up in a corner, Fletcher runs in to GAMANGIRI! GAMANGIRI for Cassidy! Fletcher suplexes but into STUN DOG MILLIONAIRE and a HALF ‘N’ HALF from Trent! The fans are thunderous, and Best Friends HUG! You GOT to give the people what they want! But then Hobbs CLOBBERS them both!! Hobbs brings down the straps, stomps Cassidy on the outside, then stands on him! The ref reprimands, Hobbs hauls Cassidy right up to TOSS him into the LED apron! Cassidy writhes but Hobbs tells him to get up. Hobbs steps on Cassidy and pulls hair to bend Cassidy back! The ref reprimands and Hobbs lets off.

Hobbs reels Cassidy in, but Trent SUPERKICKS from the apron! Cassidy Alabama Lifts?! STRONG ZERO BEACH BREAK to the floor!! But Fletcher DIVES onto Trent! SUPERKICK for Cassidy! Fletcher puts Cassidy in and runs up, but has to dodge the Orange Punch! Cassidy tilt-o-whirls, but into Fletcher’s SPINNING TOMBSTONE!! Cover, TWO!! Fletcher is furious, he tastes blood in his mouth, and he glares at Cassidy. Cassidy flounders to a corner, Fletcher runs corner to corner, GAMANGIRI! Fletcher puts Cassidy up top, climbs up after him, but Trent CLUBS Fletcher first! Trent climbs up behind Fletcher for a SUPER HALF ‘N’ HALF!!

Cassidy resets as Fletcher rises, DEEP IMPACT!! Trent SPEARS Hobbs on the outside!! Cassidy throws off the elbow pad, takes aim as Fletcher rises, ORANGE PUNCH!!! Cover, Best Friends win!!

Winners: Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta, by pinfall (advance to the quarterfinals)

Another victory for Best Friends and now they’re going to the next round! Will they avenge Cassidy’s loss of the International Championship by defeating The Kingdom and denying them more gold?

Katsuyori Shibata VS Kevin Matthews!

The Wrestler had an instant classic with Bryan Danielson on Collision last week, and he’ll undoubtedly have another one with Will Ospreay next week on Dynamite. Will Shibata simply use this match in Toronto as a tune-up? Or will #BigKM get a big W?

The bell rings and the two tie up. Shibata fires forearms with KM and the fans rally behind Shibata. Shibata gets the edge, he puts KM in a corner and just hammers away! The ref counts, Shibata runs corner to corner and back again, HYDRAULIC DROPKICK! Shibata drags KM up, for the HALF HATCH! Cover, TWO! KM is still in this but Shibata kicks him around. The fans continue to rally, and Shibata fires more forearms! Shibata runs but KM LARIATS! KM roars but fans boo as he hauls Shibata up. Fireman’s carry, but Shibata slips around to the SLEEPER! KM flails, but he drops fast! He’s already so red in the face!

Shibata lets go to run and PENALTY KICK! High stack, Shibata wins!

Winner: Katsuyori Shibata, by pinfall

Now that the Wrestler is all warmed up, is he going to be more than ready for Will Ospreay next week?

Adam “Edge” Copeland and the locker room celebrate!

The Rated R Superstar is still bloody from the I Quit Match main event from Dynamite that technically bled over into Rampage. He toasts with Daniel Garcia, Matt Sydal, Best Friends, Top Flight and a few others. They spray the champagne and finish the bottles, will Edge paint the town red tonight?

Konosuke Takeshita w/ Don Callis VS Rocky Romero!

While the snake that is Don Callis made the match of The Alpha VS Swerve Strickland for next week on Dynamite, this match was in the books before that. Will Takeshita use Azucar as a tune-up before taking on The Realest? Or will Rocky catch Takeshita looking past him and add to the Family’s misfortunes?

The bell rings and the two circle. The fans rally up, they tie up, and Takeshita shoves Rocky away. Takeshita eggs Rocky on with “C’mon~!” Rocky stands, resets with Takeshita, and they tie up. Rocky waistlocks, headlocks, but Takeshita puts Rocky up top with ease. Takeshita pats Rocky on the head to mock the height difference, and Rocky smiles sarcastically. Rocky hops down to get face to, well, chest with Takeshita. Takeshita eggs Rocky on, so Rocky CHOPS! And CHOPS! Rocky eggs Takeshita on, Takeshita winds up, but Rocky ROCKS him first! Rocky says bet, and he KICKS! Takeshita shakes his head, so Rocky KICKS again!

Takeshita wags his finger, but Rocky KICKS again! Takeshita stands to fire hands, then snapmare. He fakes the kick to then FOREARM Rocky down! Callis loves it, but again he’s the only one. Takeshita goes back to Rocky, brings him up, and hits a BIG back suplex! Cover, TWO! Rocky flounders over to a corner and Takeshita storms over. My Thoughts:

An amazing Rampage here, probably one of the best in a long time. For one, good bit backstage with Edge celebrating with the young Face wrestlers and Matt Sydal. Any of those young guys could be a challenger for Edge on the way to Dynasty should he bring back the Cope Open. And then, I didn’t want to laugh as hard as I did at the Darby skeleton prop but I could not help it, it was just so outta nowhere. Great promo from Bang Bang Bullet Club Gold, and awesome promo from The Acclaimed bringing out that intensity. While this is a new take on their past feud, it’s still gonna be great with this being how The Acclaimed is going into the grudge match.

Great tag match for the tag title tournament, and while on paper, Hobbs and Fletcher really shouldn’t be losing, story did dictate that Best Friends face Undisputed Kingdom. Great match for Takeshita with Rocky, but of course Takeshita was winning that one, even before he was going into a match with Swerve. Same goes for Shibata beating KM, but hey, KM is a big dude and he’s fortunate to have even gotten any hits in on Shibata. And of course just an amazing Street Fight Tag for the main event. The women’s division may not get as many matches as we’d like on any given show, but they have been raising the bar when it comes to these matches.

Julia & Skye winning was a big surprise, as was the finish not involving Willow, but maybe this still leads us to Julia VS Willow because they want to prove something to the other in a 1v1 match? As I said in Dynamite, this still needs to give us Willow VS Mercedes in a rematch from their NJPW Strong Women’s Championship match.

My Score: 8.9/10
