But then Big E gets in to get a MILE HIGH SPINEBUSTER! Lashley sees his old associates and smiles to see he has allies again. Lashley aims at Big E, runs in, and SPEARS! But here come the NEW DAY! Woods and Kofi fight Alexander and Benjamin in the ring and the ref throws it all out!

The Hurt Business is reformed and they’re brawling with the New Day! Big E throws Lashley out, Woods takes care of Alexander, Kofi takes care of Shelton! Cincinnati is fired up as Kofi and Woods FLY to take out Cedric and Shelton! Security and management hurry out but Big E CLOBBERS Lashley into the timekeeper’s area! Adam Pearce shouts, “ENOUGH! I have seen enough! Dammit, it is not gonna end like that! Not in Cincinnati! This match needs to decide who the better man is once and for all.” Pearce tells Lashley and Big E they will compete again tonight, with the title on the line, and inside a STEEL CAGE! Cincy goes nuts hearing that one! Will the battle for the gold finally end inside the steel?

Erik w/ Ivar VS Angel Garza w/ Humberto Carrillo!

The Viking Raiders settle for singles action against the heartthrob cousins. Will Erik give Garza a Viking Experience he won’t forget? Or will the Lethal Lothario look even better against a former Raw Tag Team Champion?

Ivar snarls and rushes in, but Carrillo helps Garza get away. The cousins smile and celebrate together, but will they stick together through the WWE Draft?

WWE 24/7 Championship: Reggie VS Ricochet!

The one man Cirque du Sommelier can do a lot through the air, but he might learn some things from the One and Only King of Flight! Will Ricochet swoop in and take the title away? Or is there still time left on Reggie’s reign?

Raw returns and Ricochet makes his entrance. Also, R-Truth, Drew Gulak and Drake Maverick are watching in the front row… Is this part of their brilliant new plan? The bell rings, Ricochet and Reggie shake hands and then tie up. Ricochet headlocks, Reggie powers out but then things speed up as Ricochet front flips over him. They go again. Ricochet waistlocks, Reggie switches, Ricochet switches back but Reggie slips out the back then does his own front flip over “Rico.” Ricochet gives credit where credit is due, and they tie up again. Reggie headlocks, Ricochet wrenches out and puts Reggie in a corner to whip corner to corner. Reggie goes up and over but so does Ricochet!

He was their back-up plan! Reggie hurries back to the ring, slips around him and hits the SPINNING CROSSBODY! Reggie hurries away and Maverick is upset with his bungling minions again. Will Team Rockstar Spud ever dethrone the slipper sommelier?

Matt Riddle scoots around backstage.

The Bro is humming Randy Orton’s theme song, but Kevin Patrick asks him how he’s preparing for AJ Styles. Riddle’s getting in the zone flying solo because Orton is taking a week off. Orton needed some time away from Riddle or else, and these are Orton’s words, he might RKO Riddle onto the concrete. Riddle said that’d just hurt Orton’s back but anyway, Riddle wonders if Orton is chilling at a spa to get ready for the Draft. Or he could be right outside getting some Skyline Chili. Either way, Orton deserves a cheat day because of his hard work. If anything, Orton is just at home watching his bro, Riddle, right here tonight.

Riddle has a message for Orton: “I miss you and I love you.” Riddle has Orton with him at all times, though, in these headphones as he jams out to Voices. Kevin leaves it at this, because here comes Omos and Styles! Riddle is a deer in headlights, but will he be all good against The Phenomenal One 1v1?

Akira Tozawa is still in the ring?

The Stamina Monster was sulking after another failed attempt, and now he wants to vent. “Tonight, I demand a match with R-Truth! I demand a match with Drew Gulak! I demand a match with Drake Maverick! I don’t care who it is!” Tozawa waits, but it isn’t either of those three! It’s KEITH LEE!!

Akira Tozawa VS Keith Lee!

The Limitless Bearcat is here to get himself a fight, too! The bell rings and Tozawa bangs his head on buckles cursing his luck. Tozawa runs in but Lee CLOBBERS him! Then whips him and SPLASHES in the corner! Lee TOSSES Tozawa across the ring, then fireman’s carries for the BIG BANG CATASTROPHE!! Cover, Lee wins!

Winner: Keith Lee, by pinfall

And he’s barely even breathing hard. Tozawa might be barely breathing, will he learn to watch what he says? As for Lee, he’s back but who will he get to limit break next?

Big E and the New Day are fired up.

Kevin asks how Big E feels about the Steel Cage rematch tonight. Big E wants to first bring up the “family reunion” we just got. Kofi and Woods sing and Big E tells Cedric and Benjamin that if they wanna bring their narrow behinds up into his business, that’s just fine! Bobby, you know when that cage goes up, it’s going down! And Big E promised that he was gonna cash in, and he did! He promised that he and New Day would win, and they did! So just like Babe Ruthe in his prime, Big E’s calling one more shot! Steel Cage, just Big E, just Lashley, and Big E promises and assures Lashley that he walks out once more as the RIGHTFUL WWE Champion! The cage is ready, but who survives its sadistic steel?

WWE United States Championship No Holds Barred Match: Damian Priest VS Sheamus!

Extreme Rules and the Triple Threat with Jeff Hardy wasn’t enough for these two! The Archer of Infamy takes on The Fella for a third round, but who wins when there MUST be a winner?

Raw returns to the ring as Sheamus makes his entrance. The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and one way or another, this is the exclamation point on this rivalry!

The two rush right into a tie-up and they go into a corner. They go around, Sheamus puts Priest in a corner but Priest pushes back and puts Sheamus on ropes. Sheamus gets a headlock but Priest slips out so they tie up again. Priest wrenches an arm, CLUBS it, tries to bring Sheamus down but he counters with a facelock. Sheamus powers his way to a lateral press but Priest keeps his arms up. Sheamus throws down elbows, clamps on a headlock, then hits a takeover. Sheamus still wants a lateral press but Priest resists. Sheamus powers him to a cover, ONE, and Priest gets up to his feet. Priest wrenches to a hammerlock and CLUBS the arm more, but Sheamus gets to ropes.

Priest doesn’t have to let off, though, and he CLUBS Sheamus again! Sheamus elbows Priest away, CLUBS him in return, and then CLUBS him down. Priest gets mad and gets up but Sheamus whips him corner to corner. Priest reverses, runs in and back elbows! Priest whips back the other way to back elbow again, then a BROKEN ARROW! Cover, ONE!! Sheamus bails out but Priest pursues, only for Sheamus to trip him on the apron! Priest lands hard, Sheamus throws body shots. Priest blocks the suplex to give a suplex to the floor! Sheamus hobbles away and Priest pursues again, and a BOOT sends Sheamus tumbling over the steps!

Time to get extreme as Priest brings out a TABLE! A day late, technically, but better late than never. Priest sets the table up by ringside but Sheamus CLOBBERS him from behind! Sheamus hauls Priest up, THROWS him at the steps, and Priest tumbles up and over! Sheamus goes to reposition the table, but Priest comes FLYING over the steps with a forearm! Direct hit, and now Priest brings Sheamus to the ring. Sheamus puts Priest in first, then stands him up against ropes. Sheamus has Priest up for Beats of the Bodhrain, but Priest blocks at 5! And ROCKS Sheamus with a right! Then another! Sheamus teeters, but he dodges the boot to fire forearms back!

Sheamus hauls Priest up to a fireman’s carry, WHITE NOISE through the table!! Both men crash through wood and to the floor and are down as Raw goes to break!

Raw returns again and Sheamus SMACKS Priest with a kendo stick! Sheamus counts them out, he’s already gotten two so here’s THREE! But then he trolls fans on the fourth and CHOKES Priest with the kendo stick! Sheamus has the bamboo in Priest’s mouth for a new take on the Dublin Smile, but fans rally up behind Priest. Priest powers up, powers the kendo stick away from his face, but Sheamus CLUBS him on the back! Sheamus smirks as he watches Priest get up. Priest elbows Sheamus away, but Sheamus scoops for a POWERSLAM! Cover, TWO! Sheamus is frustrated but he gets a new table! Sheamus sets that up in the corner while Priest flounders to the other side.

Sheamus fetches Priest, stomps his hand, then brings him up to throw hands. Priest counter punches, body shots, uppercuts, forearms and then whips. Sheamus kicks the back drop away, then brings Priest around , only for Priest to put him outside. Sheamus goes to the corner but Priest runs in. Sheamus HOTSHOTS Priest, goes up top, and showboats, before he leaps into a KENDO STRIKE! Priest SMACKS Sheamus in return and with interest! Sheamus is stinging and Priest CLOBBERS him up and out of the ring! Fans are fired up as Priest goes out and runs to BACK ELBOW Sheamus against barriers! Priest roars and fans fire up with him as he looms over Sheamus!

Priest drags Sheamus up, but Sheamus POSTS him! Sheamus RAMS Priest into barriers, then Sheamus goes into the ring with a chair. Sheamus sits in the chair to soak up the heat and watches Priest drag himself back into the ring. Sheamus goes over to Priest, stands him up and places the chair on his face. Priest ROCKS Sheamus with haymakers and body shots! Fast hands and JUMP KICK! Priest springboards but Sheamus CLUBS him! Sheamus RAMS Priest into a chair that was wedged in the corner!! Sheamus then hauls Priest up in an Alabama for an ALABAMA SLAMMA! Cover, TWO!! Priest survives and Sheamus seethes.

Fans boo as Sheamus soaks up some heat and aims from a corner. Sheamus runs, into a CHAIR! Choke grip, SOUTH OF HEAVEN SLAM!! Cover, TWO!! The Fella survives and the Archer is frustrated! The two sit up, they throw forearms on the mat, then Sheamus gets the edge. Priest hits back, they stand  up and Priest gives BIG boxing elbows! ROUNDHOUSE! ANOTHER! Priest climbs the ropes for the jump, into a KNEE!! Cover, TWO!?! Priest barely gets an arm up!

Sheamus is too sore to be frustrated and he can barely walk. “This is Awesome!” as Priest and Sheamus shake out the stars. Sheamus gets a kendo stick to SMACK Priest again! He stands Priest up with the stick but Priest swats that away to duck, BELL CLAP and BOOT! Dragon sleeper, but Sheamus uses that to scoop Priest! But Priest slips out before heading for table! Sheamus mule kicks, whips but Priest reverses and Sheamus CRASHES through table!! Priest roars, hauls Sheamus up and dragon sleepers, RECKONING!! Cover, Priest wins!!

Winner: Damian Priest, by pinfall (still WWE United States Champion)

Now THAT is how you #LiveForever! If this is truly the end for him and Sheamus, where will the Archer of Infamy look to next to add to his legacy?

Mustafa Ali and Mansoor talk at gorilla position.

Is this what he wants? A Six Man Tag with Jeff Hardy? What is he thinking? Oh c’mon, Mustafa. Are you really not excited to be teaming with THE Jeff Hardy? Hardy is a tag team legend! And this could be the difference between them being separated in the Draft or being taken together as a tag team! Hardy can help! Did Ali ever ask for help? If Ali saw that face painted freak to his face, he’d- What would you say, Ali? Uh… That he and Mansoor are honored to be working with him. Hardy says that Jinder Mahal, Veer & Shanky are “some big scary bastards,” but Hardy’s faced bigger and scarier. But he’s also excited for this team up. Plus, they get to twist some fate!

Six Man Tag: Jeff Hardy, Mansoor & Mustafa Ali VS Jinder Mahal, Veer & Shanky!

The Million Dollar Arm pays dividends for the Maharaja! Will they be ready to take over whatever brand the Draft puts them on?

Karrion Kross speaks.

“My name is Karrion Kross. And I’ve never felt more rejuvenated, more reinvigorated or more alive than now. Because I’ve only just begun to taste the vindication of erasing souls. Sure, some of your favorite superstars have limped out of the ring with torn ligaments and broken spirits, but that’s nothing more than a preliminary trial.” No one truly knows where they’ll end up by the end of this, but it all leads to the agony Kross causes. You won’t recognize the affliction until the last waking moment. In the end, they will all #FallAndPray. Who will Kross cross out next? We find out next!

Karrion Kross VS Jaxson Ryker!

Raw returns and Ryker’s made his way out to the ring. The bell rings and the two tie up. They’re in a deadlock so they break, and Ryker eggs Kross on. Kross fires off haymakers and then stomps Ryker in a corner. Kross runs but into haymakers from Ryker. Kross BOOTS Ryker, has him against ropes and claws at his face while they’re in the corner. Winner: Karrion Kross, by submission

Mr. Apocalypse smirks as he conquers Ryker. Will time only tell where and when Kross brings the end to a champion’s title reign?

Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville talk backstage.

They’re both excited to see who steps up to Charlotte Flair’s open challenge tonight, but then they’re visited by “Doudrop” Piper Niven. What can they do for her? Well, they could give her the match with Flair just cuz. Sonya says they don’t want Piper thinking she doesn’t deserve a title match, unlike Naomi who doesn’t deserve to be on SmackDown. But that’s besides the point. Piper’s beaten Eva twice and no one will see this coming. But if Piper wins, can she do the dance with them? Y’mean this one? Piper does her little side to side shimmy and Sonya loves it. So then will Piper dethrone the Queen to dance her way to the Draft?

Bobby Lashley speaks.

“Big E, you call yourself the rightful WWE champion? And that makes me sick! Makes my blood boil! You became champion by cashing in a briefcase after I had a grueling match with Randy Orton and I was injured.” But he isn’t injured anymore. He’ll be happy to be in a steel cage, because he can beat Big E up, bash his head in, climb out or even take mercy and just open the door as the rightful WWE Champion! There are many ways to win and losing is NOT an option, but will Lashley once again be All Mighty?

Matt Riddle VS AJ Styles w/ Omos!

The Bro is going solo like Han, but will he shoot first on the Phenomenal One? Or will Styles bring Riddle down from his high and get that much closer to a Raw Tag Team Championship rematch?

Riddle whips, Styles reverses but Riddle goes up and over and KICKS Styles down! BROTON! Riddle gut wrenches Styles for a suplex, then gets up to do it again!

Riddle holds on and wants a third, and he gets the third! Styles writhes from the hattrick while fans fire up. Cover, ONE! Riddle keeps his cool as Omos seethes. Styles throat chops Riddle, then storms in, into a KNEE! Styles staggers back to the corner, Riddle runs in to forearm smash! Riddle runs side to side but Styles CLOBBERS him! Riddle throws body shots in return then fires forearms. Riddle runs but into a BACKBREAKER! “I’m the main event! ME!” Styles is clearly frustrated about more than just being without tag titles. Styles drags Riddle up, throws him out of the ring, and again Omos looms over Riddle as Raw goes to break.

Raw returns again and Riddle throws hands but Styles knees low. Styles swings but Riddle spins him for a PELE! Riddle runs in to forearm, then goes side to side. Styles says this is it, but Riddle fires off palm strikes! Styles the roundhouse to unload the Phenomenal Blitz, into a FINAL FLASH! GERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO!!

Riddle grows frustrated but he gets up and brings Styles around. Riddle fireman’s carries but Styles fights free. Styles ducks the clothesline to PELE! Both men are down again and Omos is seething on Styles’ behalf. Styles is up, he spins but Riddle ducks to ripcord, FINAL FLASH! Both men are down again but Riddle keeps wrist control! Riddle drags Styles up as he fires up, but Styles ducks the kick to pump handle to a GUT BUSTER! Riddle writhes and sputters but Styles isn’t done with him. Styles goes to the apron and takes aim. Fans rally up as Styles prepares the arm, springboard, but Riddle KICKS his legs out! Styles gets a hotshot then falls to the floor, to get a PENALTY KICK!

SPRINGBOARD FLOATING BRO! Direct hit and Cincy is thunderous for Riddle as he puts Styles in! Riddle goes up top now, FLOATING BRO into a CALF CRUSHER!! Will this prove to management to give these two another shot at the Raw Tag Team Championships? Or even the SmackDown Tag Team Championships on Fridays?

Backstage interview with Shayna Baszler.

Sarah wants to know what was going through her mind when she brutally injured Nia Jax last week. Shayna seems conflicted all over again, so she chooses not to answer. Will the Queen of Spades’ actions speak loudly for her the next time she’s in the ring?

Raw Women’s Championship Open Challenge: Charlotte Flair VS “Doudrop” Piper Niven!

The Queen not only defeated Alexa Bliss at Extreme Rules, she tore her heart out by ripping Lily to shreds. But she confident puts up this challenge, and the woman who Doudropped the #EvaLution accepts! Will Piper dry up Charlotte’s reign to being her own? Or will we still say #LongLivetheQueen?

Raw returns and Piper makes her entrance. The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and the fans love Piper’s energy as she goes up against the top of the mountain!

Charlotte and Piper circle, approach and tie up. They’re in a deadlock so Charlotte gets a headlock. Piper powers out and runs Charlotte over! Charlotte is surprised and Piper nods that’s how it is. Things speed up, Piper rolls then side steps to redirect and run Charlotte again! Fans fire up with Piper but Charlottes kicks low. Charlotte scoops but Piper’s pretty big. Piper scoops Charlotte but Charlotte slips out to shove. Piper ducks and dodges to CLOBBER Charlotte with a double sledge! Then the BACK SENTON! Fans fire up as Piper runs but here comes Eva…! The EvaLution is not done with Piper, no matter how many times she loses.

And Charlotte BOOTS then NATURAL SELECTION! Cover, Charlotte wins!

Winner: Charlotte Flair, by pinfall (still Raw Women’s Champion)

Eva storms right into the ring to talk trash on Piper. “That’s what you get.” Eva is taking the spotlight and that just annoys Charlotte so Charlotte CLOBBERS her! Eva just got humbled, but will the Queen ever stop stylin’ and profilin’ as Raw Women’s Champion?

Goldberg is live via satellite.

“Bobby Lashley. Let’s talk man to man here. I’m a father, you’re a father. I don’t know what kind of father you are, but for your kid’s sake, I hope you’re a better father than you are a liar.” When Lashley put his hands on Goldberg’s neck to choke him out, he had the balls to say it was a misunderstanding. But there’s no misunderstanding. Just like when Goldberg’s son was born and he swore on everything that is holy to protect him from all that would hurt him. Lashley hurt Goldberg’s son. Now, Goldberg will fulfill his promise to his wife, son and to Lashley when he hurts Lashley really badly. If Goldberg’s lucky, he’ll even kill Lashley.

One thing people forget about Goldberg is that he will enjoy every single second of what he does. Gage Goldberg is Bill Goldberg’s son, and Bobby Lashley is about to be Goldberg’s victim. But will Lashley also be a champion when Goldberg comes for his livelihood?

Eva Marie is still in the ring.

She picked herself up over break and has to say, if she had the opportunity that Piper just had, she would be Raw Women’s Champion. And honestly, she is tired of being taken advantage of and disrespected, especially from all the fans. Eva could beat any woman in the locker room and they all know it! But before Eva can exit the ring, Shayna Baszler comes out to go right to the ring! Eva tries to get out the other way but Shayna gets her in the KIRAFUDA KLUTCH!! Shayna thrashes Eva around as she squeezes her out! Eva barely has the energy to tap but she goes to sleep! And fans cheer for the Queen of Spades!

But Shayna isn’t done! She drags Eva to the apron and kicks away on the arm! Eva flops to the floor but Shayna pulls the steps apart! Shayna wants to repeat what she did to Nia! She isolates the arm and Eva pleads, but Shayna still STOMPS the arm!! Referees rush out as Shayna makes history repeat itself! But unlike with Nia, Shayna embraces what she’s doing to Eva! Fans want that “One More Time!” but medics already have Eva out of the way. Shayna leaves it at this, but will she be satisfied until she’s dismantled every woman in her way to the title?

Backstage interview with Rhea Ripley & Nikki A.S.H!

The NEW Women’s Tag Team Champions have found success together because just look at them. They’re complete opposites, but opposites attract. And one thing they have in common is that they wanted these titles. They fist bump but Rhea has Nikki stop moving around. And the draft doesn’t matter, they can go wherever whenever. No matter what, #SuperBrutality is ready to fly! Well, they’re working on that. But now that they’re champs, they need… matching outfits! Rhea, what do you say to the color blue? Blue is a good color, on Nikki. Then what about a blue cape? They can BOTH be Almost SuperHeroes! Will Rhea stick to her black and metal? Or will she lighten up her outlook with some help from Nikki?

The cage begins to lower.

It is ready for all the violence and anger that will be unleashed, but will either Big E or Lashley still be standing after tonight?

WWE World Championship Steel Cage Match: Big E VS Bobby Lashley!

The big battle to open the show didn’t finish with a big ending, but there’s still time tonight! This match is to prove who is TRULY WWE Champion, but will he be a Powerhouse of Positivity or a Rocky Mountain Machine that leads the way into the Draft?

The introductions are made, the door opens and Lashley attacks Big E right away! Lashley kicks Big E down, goes out after him and, after taking the belt off him, RAMS him into barriers! And then RAMS him into the timekeeper’s area! Lashley drags Big E up, brings him back around for forearms and then RAMS him into steel steps! Fans boo but Lashley soaks it all up as he looms over Big E. Lashley hauls Big E up again to RAM into the side of the cage from the outside! And then chokes him against barriers before firing clubbing forearms! Lashley fireman’s carries Big E to POST him off the corner of the cage!

The referees reprimand Lashley and check on Big E as Lashley paces around. Lashley pulls steel steps apart, takes aim at Big E and RAMS him down from behind! Big E flounders but Lashley wants fans to boo louder as Raw goes to break.

Raw returns and Big E has gotten into the cage! He isn’t letting this end without a real fight and Lashley laughs. The bell rings, the door closes and Lashley runs in, into an Urenage-E!! Cover, ONE!! Big E gets Lashley up to RAM him into steel! And then more steel! Big E is giving it all back as he whips Lashley into a corner! But Lashley comes back to CLOBBER him! Fans boo but Lashley feeds off it as he drops elbows on Big E, then stands him up for forearms. Lashley RAMS Big E into steel and Big E staggers around. Lashley fires hands in a corner, digs his forearms in, then lets off to go corner to corner, and RAM Big E back into the corner!

Lashley brings Big E around, suplexes and holds him up, then SLAMS Big E down! Lashley brings Big E around to straddle and knock him down. Fans boo as Lashley paces around again. Big E slowly gets up, Lashley takes aim from a corner. Lashley runs in but Big E HIP TOSSES him into the corner! Big E RAMS Lashley into more steel, side to side and back again! Lashley wobbles, Big E scoops, but Lashley slips out to get the arms! Big E resists the full nelson, elbows but Lashley uses that to half nelson! Big E resists so Lashley scoops for a HALF NELSON SUPLEX! Cover, TWO! Lashley snarls, but he decides to climb the cage! Big E hurries up and after him!

Big E CLUBS Lashley’s legs, climbs up to join Lashley up top, and he drags Lashley into position, only for Lashley to turn things into a DRAGON SLEEPER! The ropes help with leverage and Big E is fading! Fans rally with “NEW! DAY ROCKS!” but Lashley lets Big E go. Big E falls to the floor, Lashley starts climbing up again! Big E flounders as Lashley reaches the top, and Big E springs back to life! Big E drags Lashley down, they brawl on the top rope and Big E dribbles Lashley’s face off steel! Lashley falls back and fans fire up as Big E starts to climb! But as he reaches the top, here comes the HURT BUSINESS! Cedric and Shelton attack and send Big E back inside!

Big E falls against ropes and then to the floor! The Hurt Business shout to their Chief Hurt Officer and he heads for the door. But the New Day SLAMS it shut on him!! And then Woods and Kofi drag Cedric and Shelton down! Kofi is up top but Shelton whips Woods at steel. Woods goes Spider-Man to CLOBBER Shelton! Kofi SUPER TRUST FALLS to take out Hurt Business!! The New Day shout to Big E to keep going as Raw goes to break.

Raw returns again and Big E battles with Lashley up top, but Lashley hits a SUPERPLEX! Lashley crawls to the cover, TWO! Big E is still in this and fans rally up behind him. Big E and Lashley slowly rise, Lashley goes to a corner and runs corner to corner at Big E, but into a big elbow! Big E runs but Lashley hurdles! But he turns around into an OVERHEAD Belly2Belly! And then ANOTHER! Lashley swings, Big E dodges then gets the THIRD Belly2Belly! Fans fire up as Big E runs, but Lashley SPEARS before the splash! Cover, TWO!! Lashley and Cincy are shocked Big E survives! Fans rally again but Lashley stands first. Lashley hauls Big E up, turns him, NECKBREAKER!

Lashley goes to a corner and climbs while Big E is down. But he isn’t leaving the ring, he waits for Big E to stand for a FLYING ELBOW! Lashley looms over Big E again and drags him back up, snap suplex! Lashley signals for the door and strolls over, but Big E anchors him! Lashley stomps Big E down then walks for the door but again Big E grabs on. Lashley stomps him and tells him to stay down, but Big E refuses! Big E grabs Lashley’s arm, Lashley scowls and drags Big E up to swing on him. Big E ducks and scoops, BIG ENDING!! Cover, TWO!?! Lashley survives and Cincy is surprised again, but Big E keeps his cool.

Big E heads for the door as fans cheer but Lashley anchors Big E now. Lashley gets up as he has a leg and he reels Big E in, but Big E dodges to get Lashley up! Lashley fights free to uppercut and whip, to then hit a MILE HIGH SPINEBUSTER! Lashley grins as he paces, and he goes to a corner to climb up the wall. Big E hurries as Lashley reaches the top, and Big E CLUBS Lashley on the back again! And again! Lashley throws hands, Big E elbows him back. Big E elbows and elbows and elbows and elbows! Then he gets Lashley in position, for a SUPER BIG ENDING!! Cover, Big E wins!!

Winner: Big E, by pinfall (still WWE World Champion)

That might be an understatement! That was an AMAZING ending! And in the end, Big E proves he is mightier than the Rocky Mountain Machine! Will Raw continue to #ThinkBig even after the Draft?

But wait! Here comes DREW MCINTYRE! Lashley’s embargo on the Scottish Warrior is long gone, and now he’s aiming his Claymore at Big E! Big E is just fine with that, but will McIntyre be granted mercy by the Draft and still have a way back to the world title?

My Thoughts:

What a great Raw, especially knowing this is the “go-home” to the Draft and the follow-up to Extreme Rules. WWE rebounds fairly well from the slightly blasphemous headscratcher ending of Reigns VS Demon Balor by keeping things fairly strong through the whole night. Well, even “fairly” seems generous. Ricochet got 24/7 Division’d outta nowhere and yet he and Reggie don’t even get a chance to really show everyone what they can do. Reggie retains because Maverick’s team bungle things up, but at least Keith Lee gets a strong return as he squashes Tozawa. And for those unsure or unaware about the “Bearcat” nickname, it is to pay homage to wrestling history, especially in terms of African-American wrestler history. But whether Bearcat or Limitless, Keith Lee should hopefully get to a title this time.

Speaking of titles, we got an awesome US Championship match out of Priest VS Sheamus in a No Holds Barred match, but I really wish this is what we got at Extreme Rules. Yes, USA Network and Raw need the ratings but WWE just keeps going bass ackwards through the process. But with this, I am thinking/hoping Sheamus goes to SmackDown in the Draft. As I said last night for Extreme Rules, Sheamus can go after the Intercontinental Championship and complete his Grand Slam. As for Priest, his card’s open so maybe Keith Lee gets next up. Then in the Raw Women’s Championship match, I was naïve to think Eva Marie wouldn’t screw Piper over.

Now I’d rant again about Vince dragging us kicking and screaming back to the days before #GiveDivasAChance, but then Shayna got to wreck Eva as a vicious statement saying that not only is she back to her old form, but we aren’t quite in such shallow waters yet. If anything, Shayna taking Eva out of the equation for a moment means she will be going for the title, perhaps having to go through Piper to do it. We got a decent promo out of the women’s tag champions, but could it kill Raw’s writers to realize, “Hey, the champs literally got called out on SmackDown, shouldn’t they respond to that?” Continuity between brands and networks would help everyone, y’know.

I was a bit surprised Team Jinder won, but it makes sense since they’ve been flattened over and over by Drew McIntyre and they need something to get back up. I like the use of the Million Dollar Arm from Veer, that wind-up lariat is a great finisher. I would hope the Draft keeps Mahal’s group together, and same for Mansoor & Mustafa, but Hardy going to SmackDown could help freshen some things up, including for himself. Kross VS Ryker was whatever, but it does make me wonder where Elias has been. We saw that vignette where Elias stated he was giving up the musician gimmick, but clearly WWE has no idea what to do with him when he isn’t that. Maybe he resurfaces in the Draft and finds that new character to get himself going again.

Riddle VS Styles may have been yet another rematch, but this was truly a great match to improve the night. It is clear Styles & Omos are still on a course to once again collide with RKBRO, but it just shows Vince doesn’t know what else to do with his own great selection of teams. Why not get T-Bar & Mace going as Tweeners that fight RKBRO and Styles-Omos? Dijak can do more than just throw people around and I’m sure the same goes for Dio Maddin, Vince just has to realize they’re not only what his mind comes up with. Meanwhile, Goldberg has a decent promo that in a roundabout way sets up a Crown Jewel match without saying anything about it, but obviously its happening.

The world title story was rather paint-by-numbers for WWE but still pretty action packed. The opening world title match was really good until the absolutely unmotivated Hurt Business reunion. Well, other than MVP can’t be around in person for a long time and Lashley clearly needs someone to help him out when things get desperate. Which is NOT how an “all mighty” Heel should be, but whatever. I am a bit surprised we didn’t get Kofi & Woods VS Cedric & Shelton in the middle somewhere but I suppose if the Hurt Business is back, we might get one more of those during the Draft event.

Lashley losing could easily be a sign he’s moving to SmackDown and his team is going with him, but then that’d mean SmackDown has the two “star power” matches, Lashley VS Goldberg and Roman VS Lesnar, and I don’t think USA would allow that. Hurt Business probably stays on Raw and we relive the summer. Meanwhile, what a great move to have McIntyre step up. Whether or not the Draft moves McIntyre, he does deserve a match with Big E now that the ban on the world title is lifted. Big E VS McIntyre shouldn’t be saved for Crown Jewel, it should happen on  one of the Draft nights to add to the suspense.

McIntyre could win and be moved, could lose and be moved, could win and stay, or could lose and stay, all with some great possibilities for him in the Fall and Winter. As I said last night and in relation to Sheamus, McIntyre should go for the Grand Slam in time for Survivor Series. He can lose in an awesome match to Big E, stay on Raw, fight his way to the US title and be a champion in time to face the Intercontinental Champion from SmackDown, aka Sheamus, in a really huge Survivor Series showdown.

My Score: 8.5/10

Andrew’s IMPACT Wrestling Results & Match Ratings: 10.6.2022

The GO HOME to Bound for Glory! What kind of last minute changes (if any) happen tonight?

Well we’ve got the GO HOME for Bound For Glory! It is definitely a little odd for the biggest PPV in the company to be two weeks after Victory Road; but hey the matches look pretty damn good.

Kaz gets a tune up match before his title shot, but you have to think if Kenny King can get a win; he’d make the title match a Triple Threat. As well as a Maclin vs Moose showdown with Sami Callihan as referee.

So we get to see how they hype the PPV and how the rest of the PPV shakes out!

  • Kenny King vs Frankie Kazarian: Kaz wins via Chicken Wing – ***
  • Gisele Shaw vs Mia Yim: Yim wins via Eat Defeat – ** 1/2
  • Special Referee: Sami Callihan: Moose vs Steve Maclin: Maclin wins via Callihan’s Revenge – ***
  • Swingerellas w/Zicky Dice & Johnny Swinger vs Taya & JesSICKa w/Rosemary: JesSICKa wins via SICK-ishi Driver – N/A
  • Matt Taven w/Mike & Maria vs Alex Shelley w/Chris Sabin: Shelley wins via Shellshock – *** 1/4

Kenny King vs Frankie Kazarian

Collar and Elbow/Headlock tie ups start the match before the Rope Run Shoulder tackle spots. A lot of World of Sport style counter wrestling, different take overs, cradles and eventually Kaz takes advantage of an opening with a big Lariat combo.

Kenny baits Kaz into trying his Guillotine Leg Drop on the apron, but pulls his head back in and then Planchas on his head. Leg Lariats, Leg Drops, Rising Knee Strikes, all great offense from King before Kaz tries a few reversals to catch a breath. King charges and Kaz does an Overhead Belly to Belly toss into the corner.

Scoop Slam into the Springboard Guillotine from Kaz for 2. Kaz tries for the Chicken Wing, but rams Kaz face first into the turnbuckle. T-Bone Suplex Hold from King for 2. Royal Flush attempt from Kenny, Eddy Gordo kick into Tiger Driver…only 2! Royal Flush again, but Kaz grabs the ropes and falls back into a Chicken Wing. The Heavy Metal Rebel gets the submission win!

Gisele Shaw vs Mia Yim

Mickie James comes out on commentary to scout Yim a little going into their Bound For Glory match.

Gisele and Mia start off in mostly a stalemate, but Gisele still jaws over at Mickie. After a little counter play, Mia hooks in a Front Neck Choke, but Gisele powers up and slams Mia into the corner. Mia tries an Outside-In Enzuigiri, Gisele blocks it, Stun Guns and then wipes out Mia with a Tornillo.

Commercial break comes back with Gisele leaving her feet when throwing Mia into the corner and then mocking Mickie James. Mia tries to fight back, Final Cut from Gisele for 2. Gisele goes for a stomp, misses, Buzzsaw Kick, misses, and Mia lights her up with Knife Edge Chops. Spinning Rope Assisted Enzuigiri into a Green Killer puts an end to Mia’s offense. Rope run strikes leads to Gisele hitting a great Step Over Dragon Kick but Mia responds with a Headbutt as they’re both down for a second. John Woo Dropkick from Mia, Senton in the corner for 2, Mia tries to set up and Eat Defeat, but Gisele throws her into the ropes. Backbreaker/Flatliner combo gives Gisele a 2, Mia retreats to the corner a little, Gisele chases and then gets caught with an Eat Defeat.

Impact Flashback Moment: TNA PPV #28: 1.22.2003 Raven attacking Jeff Jarrett

Special Referee: Sami Callihan: Moose vs Steve Maclin

Moose comes out all taped up, hits ribs and his mid section. While Maclin looks fine and Sami has a black eye. I like the setup since Moose being banged up before the Gauntlet lends more reason to him not winning yet nit getting hurt by a loss.

Early on, the action in the ring is secondary to Sami Callihan hamming it up. He turns his back on corner strikes, stops counts and chants “WRESTLING” at the crowd. He’s really just letting things go, I think even Red Shoes would even think this is a little too rules light.

Sami’s very sarcastic and campy delivery of checking on wrestlers and starting occasional counts is great. He also congratulates people on big haymakers with the sarcastic “GOOD JOB”. The wrestling is a pretty good slugfest so far, but Sami takes away from the action with his antics; but that’s also the role he’s purposefully playing. Callihan plays into their desire to beat on each other, but the satire of the “Ref Machine” isn’t something I could tolerate often.

Standing 10 count, Sami stops at 4 and tells them to “GET YOUR ASS UP”. Which starts a chant, of course. Maclin hits the Crosshairs, and then Sami is hamming it up and takes his sweet time starting a count. Moose hits Go To Hell, but Sami got bounced and started talking to the crowd instead of counting. Light Out miss, KIA miss, round-a-bout, Lights Out, 1-2-FUCK YOU. Cactus Driver ’97 on Moose and Maclin. Sami puts Maclin on Moose and counts 3.

I am so happy this was a Joe Hendry vignette.

Swingerellas w/Zicky Dice & Johnny Swinger vs Taya & JesSICKa w/Rosemary

JesSICKa has such great intro music. I’m glad they repackaged her into something somewhat entertaining since Havoc was not worth anything anymore.

JesSICKa throws the one in the corner, Taya hits her with the Seeing Shadows Knees in the corner, Rope Hung Sliding German Suplex and then Jess comes in and hits the SICK-ishi Driver.

It was a squash match, but trying to build JesSICKa is solid.

Matt Taven w/Mike & Maria vs Alex Shelley w/Chris Sabin

A little talking and then Taven lights up Shelley. They start some counter wrestling, Taven grabs Shelley, almost hits The Climax; but Shelley counters it into a Border City Stretch attempt, and Taven powders.

Coming back in, Shelley has control with a Headlock, followed by a soccer kick to the shoulder blades. Shelley tries to speed up, Taven keeps up well and drops Shelley with a Dropkick. Bennett trips Shelley and then Sabin trips Taven in a classic eye for an eye tweener style the Guns love.

After some outside the ring antics, Shelley comes back in, charges Taven in the corner and connects. Tries to follow up but a little over aggression and admonishment from the ref gives Taven a few opportunities. Commercial break and Taven hits a nice Backbreaker for a near fall, into a Bow and Arrow stretch, Side Russian Leg Sweep into Lion Sault from Taven – no one’s home!

Slow crawl to their feet, a quick back and forth, Soccer kicks, Border City attempt, but no. Shelley keeps wrist control locomotion chops, arm breaker into – Taven’s Leg Lariat. Lion Sault from Taven for 2. Drop Toe Hold into the turnbuckle, Tornado DDT from Shelley. Bennett gets involved, Sabin equals things out, Superkick into Shiranui and Maria  puts the foot on the ropes. Ref sees Maria, but still breaks his count anyway. A little back and forth, Kick of the King into Aurora Borealis, knees up, pinfall counters…only 2! Penalty Kick, Shellshock attempt, Bennet attacks as the referee is distracted. Just the Tip from Taven, Shellshock from Shelley and Shelley wins!

Jordynne doesn’t speak well and Scott did carry a lot of the early speaking parts of the contract signing. Masha stayed silent, so hearing the champ/babyface having to brag about their resume is a little corny. Masha only says one thing really, and that’s “Masha’s Gonna Kill You” and literally flips the table onto Jordynne.

The cliché contract brawl expected and the fact that Masha hit the Russian Death Device through the table, makes you think Jordynne will retain.

Overall Score: 6.5/10

Solid in ring work, the video packages were good and got the point across for the bigger matches. Alisha and Eddie kinda mirroring Gisele and Tom Brady is pretty hilarious as well. The finish to the show did hurt it a little. The crowd peaked at the Sami antics, everyone loves when the Guns are in action as tag or singles…and then a color by numbers contract signing is meh.

A few of the fun story beats with Killer Kelly and Tasha, Joe Hendry and Swinger drama is a great way of showing how to weave in lower card stories without a big name or title involved; and to keep it intriguing.

Do I think this would’ve helped someone on the fence decide to purchase Bound for Glory? No, I don’t. But at this point, Impact has a niche audience so at least the card looks promising.

Fans are torn, but one thing that’s rather surprising here: MJF did things fair and square! Yuta gets up and he turns MJF around! Yuta wants MJF to acknowledge the fans on this one. Yuta offers a handshake! MJF isn’t sure, but Yuta says MJF can be a man here and shake Yuta’s hand. MJF is conflicted, but he reaches out… Only for Lee Moriarty to attack from behind! The Firm’s #TAIGASTYLE strikes, but MJF is mad?! MJF tells Moriarty that he did NOT order that. This is Moriarty going against MJF’s orders! Stokely Hathaway comes out, eating a pear, and he holds out MJF’s Dynamite Diamond Ring. MJF says he doesn’t want it like this, but Stokely tells him to just do it!

MJF takes the ring, puts it on, and Moriarty sits Yuta up. Fans boo but here comes Regal! Regal puts on the BRASS KNUCKLES! Stokely and Moriarty bail as fans chant for Regal. Regal gets in the ring with MJF, dares him to use the ring on him. Fans tell MJF that “YOU F’D UP!” MJF tells Regal he’s not gonna do this, and he storms off. Was this a moment of MJF having a change of heart? Is that even possible?

AEW looks at the THREE YEARS of history behind tonight’s main event.

Chris Jericho brought together a group known as The Inner Circle: himself, Santana, Ortiz, Jake Hager, and Sammy Guevara. The young Spanish God has been Jericho’s protégé since the beginning of Dynamite. On the other side, Daniel Garcia came in with “2Point0,” Matthew Menard & Angelo Parker, while The American Dragon, Bryan Danielson, came in alone to shake up the foundation of AEW. Bryan told Jon Moxley, “What if we took someone like Wheeler Yuta under our wing? What if we took someone like Daniel Garcia away from 2Point0?” That was the beginning of the Blackpool Combat Club.

As for Jericho, his Inner Circle soon fell apart, because Santana & Ortiz didn’t “appreciate” Jericho. But Hager and Guevara stayed by Jericho’s side in the Jericho Appreciation Society, which took in Garcia & 2Point0. Then cut to Anarchy in the Arena, the bloodiest faction warfare in AEW history, and perhaps in all of professional wrestling. Or perhaps, in sports entertainment. The JAS came out the winners as Jericho and Hager took Bryan out together. But Bryan didn’t stay away long, and he had a battle with Garcia. This started planting a seed in Garcia’s head, and Jericho questioned Garcia’s loyalties.

Bryan VS Garcia II went the American Dragon’s way and that infuriated Jericho. Garcia didn’t appreciate Jericho ruining the moment, but then Garcia had his own moment by taking Wheeler Yuta’s ROH Pure Championship. Jericho would do the same to Claudio Castagnoli and the ROH World Championship, but in a far less honorable way. Bryan made one more plea to Garcia that he could be BCC, but Jericho told him to shut up! Jericho has vowed to “desecrate” ROH and what it stands for. Will he do just that as he takes on the pro-wrestlers, Bryan Danielson & Daniel Garcia?

Backstage interview with The Jericho Appreciation Society.

Tony Schiavone says that showdown of BCC VS JAS is in tonight’s main event. Matthew Menard shouts at the camera, “Daniel Garcia! After everything we have been through together, you wanna spit in our face and team with Bryan Danielson? No problem! But you take a gift, a gift that this man (Chris Jericho) gave you, that hat, and throw it on the ground?!” Hager sure likes the hat. Angelo Parker says they walked into AEW together. 2Point0 loves Garcia. He is family! But it seems Garcia has lost his way.

Jericho says Garcia is a petulant child who sticks his finger in the light socket even though he’s been told not to. But that’s okay. It is that rebellious nature that brought him to the JAS. But Garcia needs to remember that every trick he was taught, he was taught by them. They taught him how to be a great sports entertainer. Schiavone says, “You’re talking about systematic cheating, right?” To-may-to, to-mah-to, Schiavone. Lessons will be taught, lessons will be learned, and Jericho just hopes Garcia makes the right decision. Sammy shouts, “And if you don’t…! We’re gonna end you.”

Jericho says, “Speaking of ending, Bryan, tonight is gonna be a taste of what you’re gonna get in Toronto. I’m gonna desecrate the legacy of ROH. I’m gonna leave Toronto as the Ring of Jericho Champion, and still be the Ocho.” Jericho has issued his title match challenge to Bryan Danielson, but will he end up losing here tonight?

Britt Baker speaks.

“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, as the Face of the AEW Women’s Division but most importantly, as a Role Model, I feel morally obligated to answer the question that everybody’s been asking. And the answer is no, Saraya will NOT be wrestling in AEW. The doctors have NOT medically cleared her to compete. So let’s ship her off in some bubble wrap and send her on her way. But I guess that officially makes this my house now, right? Yours Truly, Dr. Britt Baker, DMD.”

The trios sort out and Willow starts against Hayter in a rematch from last week’s Rampage. They circle, fans rally for both, but then Hayter tags out to Mrs. Superbad. Ford argues with the ref but this is a distraction so Britt can CHOKE Storm! Britt lets off before she’s caught, and then Ford YANKS Storm into the ropes! Storm falls over, Ford drags her up again and wrenches to a wristlock. Tag to Hayter, she goes up and drops AX HANDLES on the bad arm! Fans fire up as the brawl is on!! Hayter, Deeb, Ford and even Rebel get in, the brawl explodes! DC is loving this! Saraya TOSSES Britt out, and now she has Rebel all to herself! Rebel begs for mercy, but she gets a BOOT instead! Saraya shouts, “This is MY house!” Will Saraya prove to Britt that she can still go?

Backstage interview with Rush, Jose & Private Party.

Tony Schiavone notes that El Toro Blanco is taking on The Cowboy, Hangman Adam Page tonight, but it seems Jose The Assistant has “called the troops together.” And he did so because while Private Party showed up for work tonight, they haven’t been showing up in the ring. Jose has clips to prove it. Last week, Rush and Hangman brawling, but NO Private Party backing Rush up. Then the week before that, when Rush led The Butcher & The Blade in that blindside of Hangman, still no Private Party! Jose promises that Rush will blast Hangman again tonight. Rush tells Private Party to “do the right thing tonight!”

Jose lets Private Party know that they know Matt Hardy’s been talking with them. They better choose the right side in this. Jose and Rush leave, but will Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy do what’s right? Or will they do what La Faccion Ingobernables wants?

The Acclaimed head to the ring!

Fans are fired up as there’s balloons and a podium. Max Caster has the mic, so “Yo! Listen! Acclaimed on the mic, what I’m saying is hot. Even in the senators are insider trading our stock. We will never be approved like a home loan. We did it on our own cuz we homegrown! Even Joe Biden is lovin’ it. He said, ‘Scissor me timbers,’ and didn’t even stutter it! Yo, we put ’em away. Hands up cuz it’s National Scissoring Day!” Bowens gets the mic to say, “WASHINGTON DEEEE CEEEEE! The Acclaimed have arrived! Scissor me, Daddy Ass~!” And he does! Fans fire up and sing, “OH~ Scissor Me, Daddy~!” as the champs go to the podium.

Bowens says he is glad they’re singing that, cuz Daddy loves to scissor! But Washington, D.C, welcome to the very first ever National Scissoring Day celebration! It is a very special night, unlike anything in our great sport’s history, and it is brought to you by The Acclaimed, the most popular team in ALL of professional wrestling! Caster adds, “That’s right!” The winningest team in AEW! That’s right! The best damn homegrown team in AEW history! THAT’S RIGHT! And today, it was made official thanks to every single fan. The “Scissor Me Daddy Ass” T-Shirt is the NUMBER ONE BEST SELLER IN 2022!!

Bowens says most importantly, The Acclaimed, your #ForeverChamps, have brought home gold! That means AEW no longer stands for All Elite Wrestling. No, it stands for ACCLAIMED EVERY WEDNESDAY! But now, this is cause for celebration, and the Acclaimed celebrate by scissoring. Bowens knows a thing or two about that. They used to Babe Ruth the Sultan of Swat, so you can call Anthony Bowens the Sultan of Scissors! And there may be a few of you tuning in for the very first time tonight because National Scissoring Day was trending all day long. Let’s break it down for you. Scissoring is a handshake, a sign of friendship, and a sign of true teamwork.

The Acclaimed understand that the people want to be represented by a real team. “Not two dudes who were thrown together like Keith Lee and Sneaky Swerve.” Fans boo to support that point. Bowens says “Sneaky Swerve” would like us to believe that he and Keith deserve to be AEW Tag Team Champions. Sneaky Swerve would like us to believe that he and Keith are the most popular tag team in the industry. But they’re WRONG! EVERYONE loves The Acclaimed! “Swerve, this isn’t your house.” Billy Gunn takes over here and says, “This is Daddy Ass’s house! Now for everybody in the building, and the millions…” “AND MILLIONS!” “… of people at home, it’s National Scissoring Day!”

That said, Billy was sent down to City Hall today, because he’s a big deal, and he was asked to present The Acclaimed with this. Billy brings out a big package wrapped in gold. Could it be…? The Acclaimed unwrap the package and… it’s the SCISSORS TO THE CITY! Y’know, like you see when someone has to cut a big ribbon. Bowens is all fired up, but he’s running with scissors! Billy tells him don’t do that. Bowens apologizes, and Caster goes to the podium. “Folks, at this point in the service, we’d like everybody to turn to your right and your left to offer a sign of peace to your neighbor via scissoring. Peace be with you, Anthony.” The Acclaimed scissor finger and the fans join in!

“And as National Scissoring Day comes to a close, I wanna talk about greatness. Yeah, guys, I wanna talk about greatness. About 40 years ago, here in this city, Washington DC, greatness was achieved when Washington won the Super Bowl. Yeah. Super Bowl 17. A lot of people here probably don’t remember that. I wasn’t even born yet, but it means a lot to me, because my dad was on that championship team.” Fans cheer for that, and Billy even hugs Caster. Caster continues to say, “And his Super Bowl ring is his prized possession. He wears it proudly to this day. And he achieved greatness here all those years ago, just like The Acclaimed achieved greatness when we won the AEW Tag Team titles.

“But this city represents, also, the ugly side of America, the division in our country. But one thing we can agree on is that everyone loves The Acclaimed.” Fans cheer that! So put your scissors up right now! Cuz it’s their duty to bring everyone together. Today, there is no Left or Right, no blue or red. “The Acclaimed wears pink, and everyone looks good in pink, baby! We are the People’s Choice, we are the People’s Voice, and we’re gonna make history here tonight. We’re gonna do the first-ever bipartisan scissor to unite this country. Let’s do it!” Fans fire up as the trio puts up the fingers… “Whose House?” Swerve Strickland is here to rain on the parade!

Fans boo but Swerve has a mic to say, “This is the most idiotic thing I’ve ever seen. Oh, congratulations on your whole number one selling T-shirt on Congratulations, Billy. Now some more kids can go to school and get suspended again in this decade like they did two ago. These are your tag champ role models you want for your children? These guys, right? Y’know what? Those two tag team championships shouldn’t even be on your shoulders, they should both be on Billy’s, because if it wasn’t for you, Swerve In Our Glory would still be tag team champions.”

Fans boo but Swerve says that for him and Keith to get back to what they do, they gotta get back to business. That means taking Billy out. So next week, in Toronto, it’ll be “Daddy Ass” himself, Billy Gunn stepping into whose house? “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” And it’ll be one-on-one. And don’t even think about bringing those two fingers up in Swerve’s face. You do that, Swerve will make sure Billy never uses that hand again. Because we all know rock beats scissors every day. Swerve even has a rock in his hand! But wait, Mark Sterling is storming out here? Sterling says, “I don’t wanna say I told you so, but I told you so! Paper covers rock, pal!”

Sterling brings back his petitions and says he’s been calling out Swerve for being a jerk for months! No one was listening, but Sterling expects that from the “idiots” in the crowd and watching at home. But the Acclaimed should wanna hear him out. They need Sterling. Fans boo that. But Sterling says they need him to beat Swerve because they can’t do it themselves. We saw Grand Slam, there was some controversy. So let’s all join together so Sterling can represent them in the fight against Swerve, and seal the deal tonight! Let’s give the people what they want, and that is the three of them scissoring Sterling! What?

Sterling turns around into a CHOP! And then Billy scoops to SLAM Sterling! Caster and Billy open Sterling up for SCISSOR ME TIMBERS!! Swerve rolls his eyes and leaves but Billy says wait! Before Swerve leaves, Billy ACCEPTS! Next week, Toronto Dynamite, Swerve VS Billy! But okay, Swerve can leave now, because The Acclaimed has just one more thing to do. They… SCISSOR!! But will Swerve Strickland crush Daddy Ass when Dynamite goes north?

AEW looks at The Dark Order VS Death Triangle!

Alex Reynolds says that this Friday will be bittersweet. It’s the second anniversary of Mr. Brodie Lee’s last ever match, but also the night that the Dark Order beats Death Triangle to become NEW AEW World Trios Champions! But PAC responds by telling Dark Order that while their “recipe” is fine, Death Triangle’s “ingredients are just a little bit more premium.” Preston Vance says, “What better way to win the Trios Championships than on the anniversary of Brodie Lee’s last match.” Penta El Zero Miedo says Death Triangle is the best trio in the universe, because they have CERO MIEDO!

John Silver mocks Pac’s accent when he says The Dark Order is coming for the Trios Championships! Not bad. But will it really be the Dark Order’s time to shine when Death Triangle is on a Rampage?

Backstage interview with Madison Rayne & Skye Blue.

Schiavone introduces the coach of the AEW Women’s Division, and she says it has been great being here. In the few months she’s been here, she’s seen endless potential in the division, particularly in Skye. Skye is truly a rising star and she’s becoming quite the wrestler. But TayJay, Tay Melo & Anna Jay “A S,” walk over and say this is a joke. Madison, as Skye’s coach? What Skye really needs is a sports entertainment coach, to give Skye charisma, personality and flair. Skye says for once, TayJay might be right. She could work on her “charisma” while they can work on their wrestling. But uh, there’s two and two, and then Rampage this Friday. What do they say?

Tay says that’s perfect! Because as Jericho always says, sports entertainer always beat pro-wrestlers. TayJay head and Madison copies Matthew Menard by saying, “It’s gonna be enter-tening.”

Hangman Page VS Rush w/ Jose!

The Cowboy and El Toro Blanco were the last two in the Golden Ticket Battle Royal, and in the end, Hangman won the prize. But things are far from settled between these two, will Hangman also avenge John Silver? Or will he get the horns before ever making it to the title match?

The bell rings and fans are thunderous already for “COWBOY S*IT!” Rush rushes in, Hangman dodges and fires hands. Rush gives them back, they brawl and fans fire up! Rush ROCKS Hangman but Hangman comes back to CHOP! Rush CHOPS, Hangman CHOPS, and now it’s a CHOP fight! Rush fires up and eggs Hangman on so Hangman CHOPS and CHOPS and CHOPS! Hangman shakes out his hand, runs, but Rush blasts past, gets around and waistlocks. Hangman switches but Rush switches back to shove Hangman away. Hangman goes up and out to the apron but Rush rolls back to tranquilo!

Jose anchors Hangman’s foot! Rush then rushes in to DECK Hangman! Rush goes out after Hangman to drag him up and RAM him into railing! Rush brings Hangman around to SMACK off the chair in the corner, then he drags Hangman up again. Jose distracts the ref so Rush can use the camera cable to LASH Hangman! And then CHOKE him! The ref sees something’s up and reprimands, Rush lets off at 4. Rush soaks up the heat then drags Hangman up to RAM into more railing! Rush keeps on Hangman as AEW goes picture in picture.

Rush RAMS Hangman into steel steps! The ref reprimands, Rush puts Hangman in the ring and he soaks up more heat. Rush gets in as Hangman goes to a corner, and Rush looms over him. Rush drags Hangman up, CHOPS him, then ROCKS him with a forearm. Rush whips corner to corner, runs in and KNEES Hangman, then snapmares him down for a basement dropkick! Hangman writhes but Rush tranquilos again. Rush soaks up more heat from DC, then stalks Hangman to another corner. Hangman CHOPS back, so Rush CHOPS. The Cowboy puts the bull away and is heading to Cincinnati with momentum! But wait, Private Party heads out! Are they going to do “the right thing?” Wait! Here comes MOXLEY! The AEW World Champion isn’t gonna let Quen & Kassidy rough up his challenger. Moxley gets a mic and gets in the ring as Private Party backs away. Moxley and Hangman go forehead to forehead, and Moxley says, “I’ve been waiting for this for three years. Three years of AEW Dynamite. Three years of watching you, three years of studying you because I knew this was coming. Three years of us circling each other. Between the two of us, we’ve beaten just about everybody there is to beat here in AEW. Except each other.

“On October 18th, at the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, my home arena, the arena I literally grew up in… For real, I used to smoke and drink under the bridge outside.” But on that Tuesday night, Moxley and Hangman will be one last man standing here in AEW. In 13 days, Cowboy, Moxley leaves his house, walks down the street, shows up at Heritage Bank Center, and will break Hangman’s face. Moxley will choke Hangman until he turns blue, because he is in the way of Moxley being the one true top guy in AEW, of being the world champion, and of being THE best in the world!

“And I’ve all the respect in the world for your abilities, I have all the respect in the world for your talents. I admire you as a person. But when that bell rings, with the world championship on the line, I ain’t got any gaddamn respect for anything.” Hangman takes the mic and says, “If you’ve been waiting for this so long, where the hell are you going right now?” Fans like the sound of that! Moxley gets back in the ring, fans chant for “COWBOY SH*T!” but Moxley says, “You’re a sweet kid. And like a lot of kids around here, you say a bunch of bulls*it and your mouth gets you in trouble. I’m gonna let you off the hook just once. But this is your final warning. You’ve got 13 days. You watch your damn mouth.”

Moxley leaves, having put it in simple terms. But MJF is smiling as he watches this backstage. Whether it’s Maniac or Cowboy, will The Devil come to collect from the winner?

Backstage interview with Willow Nightingale.

Schiavone says that was a big win tonight as Willow got the pin, her career is on the upswing. Willow thanks Schiavone for that, she is stoked! But she’s more than just “happy to be here,” she is on a roll! At Battle of the Belts, she wants to challenge for the AEW TBS Championship! Uh, what? The Baddies barge in and give Willow trash. Willow shoves Leila & Kiera back, but Jade says, “What? I already beat you like, twice.” Singles and tag! So it seems Willow just wants to be #39. Willow says Jade may have beaten her twice, but how about a third? Jade’s sure confident that she’ll go 39-0, but no one is undefeated forever! So what if Jade actually does go 38-1, and it’s Willow who is “The One!?”

Willow looks at the title then takes her leave. Will she be the one to leave with that title on Friday? Or will Willow’s roll hit a wall?

Luchasaurus w/ Christian Cage VS Fuego Del Sol!

Captain Charisma leads the way for his own personal kaiju, both of them having battered and bruised Jungle Boy after their betrayals. Will Luchasaurus continue to demolish all put in his path? Or will the Fire of the Sun burn down the towering tyrant lizard?

The bell rings, Fuego rushes in, but Luchasaurus catches him with a choke grip! For the CHOKE SLAM! But that’s not enough for Christian, and Luchasaurus drags Fuego up again. Straitjacket, torture rack, EXTINCTION!! Cover, Luchasaurus wins!

Winner: Luchasaurus, by pinfall

Christian is all smiles, but he still wants Luchasaurus to take out the trash. Luchasaurus gut wrenches Fuego to a Crucifix, but HERE COMES JUNGLE BOY! He has a chair and he JAMS Luchasaurus with it! Fuego is spared but JB SMACKS Luchasaurus on the back! Luchasaurus falls out of the ring but is right back up! Christian keeps Luchasaurus from rushing back in at the angry Jack Perry! JB gets a mic to say, “Look at me, you traitor! You were my best friend in the entire world. You were my BEST FRIEND! And after everything that we have been through together, you chose him. And you broke my heart.”

JB takes a moment before he continues. “But now, I am going to break your fingers. I am going to break your nose. I am going to break your arm! I am going to break you piece by miserable piece until I break YOU! You pick the time and you pick the place, I’ll be ready.” Christian snatches the mic to say, “I told you not to come back this week, Jungle Boy. And it’ll be just as easy for us to step into this ring, drop you, and leave you in a pool of your own piss and blood. But y’know what? You got me thinking here. You said we pick the time and place? Well we’re in your nation’s capital of Washington, DC. And apparently I’m the only honest person in Washington, DC, because I can tell you right now, that match will not be happening in this cesspool in front of these losers!”

Fans boo but Christian says the time is next week on Dynamite! The place is Christian’s hometown of Toronto! Will Jungle Boy finally get his revenge in front of Christian’s hometown crowd?

Speaking of which…

AEW looks closer at PAC VS Trent!

The Bastard says, “Trent Beretta. You’re upset that I hurt your little buddy, are ya? Your ‘best friend.'” Trent says “Pac calls himself a Bastard. I guess it’s cuz he talks in a fake scary voice and he makes mean faces. And he needs to use a hammer to win matches and hurt our friend.” Pac says Cassidy blindsided him and yet Pac’s the bad guy. Trent says this Friday, he gets revenge. And he won’t need a hammer to hurt someone. But Pac says, “I’m a bastard, what did you expect? But at Battle of the Belts, I’ll have no problem hurting you, as well.” Trent says, “NEW All-Atlantic Champ. Hands in, boys.” Chuckie T is there to join in, but will Best Friends be celebrating a vengeful victory?

Daniel Garcia & Bryan Danielson VS Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara!

The ROH Pure Champion has been torn between the influence of his hero in The American Dragon and his mentor in The Wizard. He has also been torn between the definitions of a “professional wrestler” and a “sports entertainer,” and which one fits him best. But one thing is for sure, Garcia wants some respect from Jericho, not cheap gifts and cheap tactics! Will Garcia and his hero humble the ROH World Champion and the Spanish God? Or will the Jericho Appreciation Society just sports entertain their way to another cheap victory?

The teams sort out and Garcia starts with Jericho, student against mentor and ROH Pure Champion VS ROH World Champion! Fans chant, “F YOU SAMMY!” while Jericho wants to uphold the Code of Honor. Garcia hopes he’s honest, and shakes Jericho’s hand. Jericho doesn’t try any tricks, they circle, and tie up. Jericho arm-drags Garcia fast and then holds up his hands in victory. Sammy rallies Jericho but Jericho and Garcia tie up. Garcia denies the arm-drag and wags his finger. Jericho rushes in, Garcia gets around to trip Jericho up, floats all over him, and mounts! Jericho CHOPS, Garcia CHOPS, and CHOPS, and CHOPS, and CHOPS! Garcia whips, Jericho reverses, and Sammy trips Garcia up! Sammy pretends he didn’t but fans boo. Sammy tags in while Jericho seems hesitant, and Sammy rains down fists! Fans boo but Sammy stops to taunt Bryan. Sammy goes back to Garcia, he drags Garcia up and CLUBS Garcia. Sammy suplexes, Garcia slips out and shoves to dropkick the legs out!

Sammy crawls but Garcia tags Bryan! Bryan dodges Sammy to DROPKICK Jericho! Bryan fires off on Sammy with haymakers, then he EuroUppers Sammy hard in the corner! Sammy staggers, into Bryan’s MISSILE DROPKICK! Bryan kips up and fans fire up. Bryan waits on Sammy to sit up, to give him a KICK! And a KICK! And a KICK! Sammy sits up but into more KICKS! Then the BUZZ- NO, Sammy ducks to roll Bryan up! TWO, into the omoplata! LEBELL LOCK!! Jericho rushes in to BOOT Bryan! The ref reprimands but too late, Jericho tags in. WALLS OF JERICHO!!

Bryan endures now as Jericho sits deep! Garcia gets in but Jericho lets off. The two stare down, but Bryan rolls Jericho up! TWO, and Bryan CHOPS! Jericho CHOPS, Bryan EuroUppers! Bryan fires off more uppercuts, whips Jericho to ropes but Jericho reverses and CLOBBERS Bryan! Jericho then DECKS Garcia with a sucker punch! Dynamite returns to single picture, Excalibur assures us that is the final commercial break, and Bryan climbs up top! Jericho trips Bryan up, Sammy GAMANGIRIS! Sammy goes up top after Bryan, for a SUPER SPANISH FLY! Cover, TWO!! Bryan survives and fans rally up, but Sammy rains down fists. Sammy snarls and fires up, and he sits Bryan up for a chinlock. Sammy then pushes Bryan down to stomp. Sammy tags Jericho, they double whip and double shoulder Bryan over! Sammy spins and poses with Jericho, Le Sex Gods are back at it. Jericho drags Bryan up, tags Sammy back in, and Jericho CHOPS!

Jericho and Sammy mug Bryan with haymakers and CHOPS, then Sammy whips. Bryan ducks ‘n’ dodges as fans bring back “F YOU SAMMY!” DOUBLE CROSSBODIES collide! Both men are down, fans rally up and both men crawl, hot tags to Garcia and Jericho! These two stare down and fans fire up more. But Sammy jumps in, only for Garcia to DECK him outta the sky! Garcia and Jericho stare down again, and the brawl is on! Fans are thunderous as Garcia gets the edge! Garcia stomps a mudhole, the ref counts but Garcia won’t let off so the ref backs him down! Sammy says he’s the best, but fans chant, “You Still Suck!” Jericho covers Garcia, TWO! Jericho drags Garcia up to CHOP him. Garcia grits his teeth, Jericho CHOPS again.

Jericho CHOPS but Garcia glares at him. Jericho CHOPS, Garcia CHOPS and CHOPS and CHOPS! Garcia whips, but Jericho avoids the dropkick! LIONSAULT onto knees! Fans boo but the ref missed it as she was checking on Sammy! Sammy crawls himself to cover Garcia, the JAS wins!!

Winners: Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara, by pinfall

Another cheap trick and the sports entertainers win! The rest of the JAS comes out to celebrate with them, and of course SamTay kiss. Jericho still seems torn having to do this to his protégé, but is this all the more reason for Garcia to leave the JAS and join the BCC? Can Bryan redeem himself and ROH by taking the world title away from Jericho? Or is the future of ROH nothing but the OCHO?

My Thoughts:

A great episode for AEW to celebrate the Dynamite Anniversary while also serving as a go-home to “Friday Fight Night.” However, with that, the elephant in the room needs to be addressed. After getting at it via Twitter, Sammy and Andrade couldn’t help but throw down backstage in person. Tony Khan sent Andrade home when Sammy’s been the instigator the whole time, but Sammy was scheduled for tonight’s main event so oF CoUrSe SaMmY sTaYs~! I agree with a fan sign I saw tonight: HIRE HR EXPERTS. This shouldn’t be happening to a company that is meant to be the positive alternative to what WWE was under Vince. Ironically, while scraps happened (Jericho oddly being a part of a few), it never went like this with Vince.

But some credit must be given to Tony Khan, him pivoting from the hyped up Mask VS Contract of Vance VS Andrade to a fun AEW World Trios Championship match was good thinking. The Dark Order sadly won’t win, despite it being the anniversary of Brodie Lee’s last match and by proxy, a night to remember his memory, but Vance was likely losing his mask anyway so a bit of a silver lining. Pac and Trent also have a good promo vignette for their 1v1 title match, but I think Pac is sweeping the night. And I think after Pac wins, Ethan Page needs to call him out since that was the story set up weeks ago when Ethan said he wanted that All-Atlantic title.

We got an awesome opener from MJF and Yuta, and of course MJF wins to have momentum for his inevitable cash-in. However, I am really intrigued by how The Firm took initiative and did the Heel stuff for him. MJF didn’t want it that way because perhaps deep down, he really does respect Yuta given their history from before AEW. Regal stepping up was also really cool, and I guess we’ll see how this goes. MJF watching Hangman VS Rush was also a nice touch. Hangman VS Rush was an awesome match, too, and LFI putting the screws to Private Party is really good stuff. Moxley defending Hangman to preserve their match is good stuff, and they had a great promo interaction. BCC is definitely winning against LFI by pinning Private Party and that’ll push #HardyParty VS LFI/AFO.

Great match from Darby VS Lethal, and I should’ve figured Sonjay & Satnam would still show up at some point. We got a similarly intriguing moment where Darby got Lethal to show some respect, and maybe Lethal is on his way to changing things. Great TNT Championship match, Wardlow and Cage are guys who both defy expectations for their musculature, but I had a feeling Wardlow would retain. Great brawl as The Embassy goes after Wardlow, only to bring out Samoa Joe and FTR. FTR VS GOA is going to be good stuff, but FTR will surely retain. And of course Luchasaurus wins his match, it wouldn’t have mattered who that was. JB showing up was a great surprise, and now we’re getting JB VS Luchasaurus in Toronto, that’ll be great stuff.

Great Six Woman Tag, and it really was great that Willow got the pin. Willow going after the TBS Championship was a bit of a surprise, but I suppose Face VS Heel dictates this match-up. I’m a little surprised this is happening when we got a tease of Jade VS Nyla last week, but I guess they just want to get Jade to 40 already. Jade will beat Willow, she’ll probably beat Nyla, and then who knows, maybe the 41st match is where Jade finally loses. As for Storm, I feel like they definitely need to push Hayter since fans love her, too.

At the same time, they are definitely teasing Saraya’s return to the ring and she’ll definitely have a match with Britt, either 1v1 or a tag match so it isn’t all on Saraya in case there’s ring rust. Skye & Rayne VS TayJay will be a decent match for Rampage but that promo was not the best. On one hand, TayJay may have a point that Skye is still green in presenting a personality. But Skye saying TayJay, each part having proven themselves in the ring these last three years, is bad. To me, Tay and Jay could each believably take down Rayne, because I still don’t see “it” in Rayne.

National Scissoring Day was hilarious stuff, and was proof that fans really do love The Acclaimed. But while I expected the Gunn Sons to interrupt because of how they’ve been talking crap, it was whose house? SWERVE’S HOUSE! Swerve VS Billy is going to be great, but I would think Swerve wins. Maybe Keith & Swerve have to beat Austin & Colten to get that rematch? Or do we get a Triple Threat again to clear out multiple teams at once? I did like that Sterling just expected The Acclaimed to side with him against their common enemy of Swerve, only for Sterling to take the hit.

I will say, for the backstage crap that went down between Sammy and Andrade, we still got a good group promo from the JAS, a great vignette to hype up the main event, and a great main event match. Unfortunately, Sammy’s nuclear heat detracted from the story that was going on, maybe they should’ve just called an audible and put Hager or one of the 2Point0 boys in there. And in the end, the JAS cheats again because duh, they’re Heels. But with Jericho VS Bryan III for the ROH World title is going to be great stuff next week. With Jericho getting the win here tonight, I would think Bryan wins next week, but we’ll just have to wait and see. I also totally expect Garcia to have a match with Jericho to decide his fate: join BCC as a pro-wrestler, or be stuck in JAS as a sports entertainer.

My Score: 8.8/10
