Raw shows their first night’s draft picks!

Big E, Edge, RKBRO, Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Nikki A.S.H, Rey & Dominik Mysterio, “Doudrop” Piper Niven, “Bearcat” Keith Lee, Nia Jax, John Morrison, Reggie, Drake Maverick, R-Truth, Akira Tozawa, Austin Theory, Zelina Vega, T-Bar, the Alpha Academy, Apollo Crews & Commander Azeez are ALL Team Red! How much bigger can things get with night two?

Becky Lynch is here!

The SmackDown Women’s Champion is here, and the Man’s come ’round to Nashville! Big Time Becks gets a mic, and she’s excited to be on Monday Night Raw. It’s been a year and a half since she’s been on this show and it feels good to be back. But she’s about to make a lot of executives unhappy with jumping the gun, but she doesn’t care! She does what she wants! So the first pick for Monday Night Raw tonight is… Fans already guess it, and it’s BECKY! This is her show now! Now she’s still holding the SmackDown title but she was the longest reigning Raw Women’s Championship, and she never actually lost that belt!

And the person holding that belt right now, they’ve gone back and forth. Charlotte hasn’t been the same since the last time Becky beat her. But when Charlotte last beat Becky, Becky’s been better than ever and Charlotte can’t stand it! So Becky thinks it is time to become #BeckyTwoBelts once again! Fans like the sound of that but here comes The Queen! Charlotte struts her way to the ring, but fans chant for “Becky Two Belts!” Charlotte wants to first say hi to her old friend, Becks. But Charlotte says that before Becky won, she was just “Becky Preshow.” Charlotte made Becky famous. And Becky needs to get over her inferiority complex. She’ll always be looking up to the most decorated woman in sports entertainment.

But it’s good Becky is leaving SmackDown, these two have unfinished business. But here comes Bianca Belair! The EST is back on Raw and in her reddEST outfit. Fans chant for “E S T!” as Bianca hears them talking unfinished business. Bianca’s got unfinished business with both of them. They must feel threaten cuz they both took cheap shots at Bianca on Friday during and after the main event. So neither of these two are ready for the EST of the WWE to become the EST of Monday Night Raw. “Cuz I go here now.” Aw how cute, Bianca. But shh, the champions are talking. Hold up, Charlotte. Who you think you talking to? Did you just disrespect Bianca?

Fans chant “Charlotte Sucks! Charlotte Sucks!” and Charlotte counters with “What? What?” Bianca says Charlotte is here, but she don’t even go here! So then, Becky. Get your girl cuz she don’t know Bianca. Whoa, whoa, Charlotte is no one’s girl. And she is not a girl, she is a woman! And she isn’t disrespecting Bianca. Bianca’s done a lot, from winning the Royal Rumble to winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship to main-eventing WrestleMania! She’s done almost as much as Charlotte! But the only thing anyone should be doing is asking for autographs and thanking Charlotte for paving the way.

Becky says that sounds pretty disrespectful. If it was Becks, she’d fight Charlotte right now. But Becky’s beaten Charlotte so many times, there’s nothing to left to prove. But Becky feels these two haven’t fought on Raw. What would happen? Charlotte wants everyone to wait. “Bianca, I only give out opportunities. Not charities.” Becky says she wouldn’t take that, either. Bianca says she can give Charlotte something. The earrings start coming off but Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce come out to stop this. They can make the right opportunity for this in one hell o fa main event. For the first time ever on Raw, Charlotte Flair VS Bianca Belair!

But there’s more! Natalya & Tamina are having a rematch for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships with Rhea Ripley & Nikki A.S.H! And even bigger, a US Championship match will kick things off! And with that, the Charismatic Enigma heads out! Jeff Hardy is heading to SmackDown, but can he grab the title and bring it along with him?

Raw returns with the first round of draft picks.

The cat’s outta the bag, it’s official now, Raw chooses BECKY LYNCH! SmackDown chooses the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, The Usos! Sounds like Paul Heyman’s negotiations worked out. The Usos are backstage shaking hands and Paul Heyman thanks God for this mercy. Raw now chooses… BOBBY LASHLEY! Mondays stay mighty and Lashley is happy his suit matches the brand. And SmackDown closes the round with… Sasha Banks! The Boss stays on the blue brand, will she make it #LEGIT?

WWE United States Championship: Damian Priest VS Jeff Hardy!

Raw returns to the ring and the Archer of Infamy makes his entrance. He and Hardy have faced off already, will Priest make sure Hardy doesn’t take this title away to SmackDown?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and a critical moment in this Draft happens in the ring!

Hardy and Priest circle as fans rally up. They tie up, Priest wrenches to a hammerlock then a headlock. Hardy powers out, Priest runs him over with a shoulder. Things keep moving, Priest rolls over Hardy’s drop down. Hardy rams shoulders but Priest rebounds to run Hardy over! Cover, TWO! Priest keeps on Hardy but Hardy JAWBREAKERS back! Hardy kicks, throws hands, but Priest counter punches! Priest ROCKS Hardy then ROUNDHOUSES him down! Hardy flops out of the ring, Priest goes out to get him up. Choke grip but Hardy fights free! Hardy is on the apron now, and he LEAPS, only to crash ‘n’ burn as Priest dodges!

Priest gets in the ring and then builds speed, but Hardy moves! Priest slips out the side, goes up the steps, CANNONBALL! Direct hit and Priest fires up as Raw goes to break.

Raw returns and Hardy fights Priest as they’re both up top! Hardy throws headlock punches and then elbows Priest down. Hardy adjusts for a WHISPER IN THE WIND! Cover, TWO! Hardy keeps going and he CLUBS Priest at the ropes. Priest reverses the whip, dodges the haymaker and WHEEL KICKS Hardy down! Priest hurries to get Hardy up, dragon sleeper and RECK- NO! Hardy slips out, TWIST- NO! BELL CLAP and a RIPCORD ROUNDHOUSE! Hardy rebounds to SLINGBLADE! Kick and TWIST OF FATE! Hardy throws off the shirt and climbs up top! Fans fire up and Hardy SWANTON BOMBS! Cover, TWO!! And into a ghost pin! Priest wins!!

Winner: Damian Priest, by pinfall (still WWE United States Champion)

The momentum flips in an instant, and the US Championship stays on Raw! Priest shows Hardy respect by helping him up, and Hardy shows it back. Hardy is still frustrated, can he use the move to SmackDown as a way to refresh himself? Sarah interviews Hardy to ask him about that move. Hardy says he loves the fans, and is so good to be in front of them again. He’s been to the highest of highs and crashed back down to reality at times. That said, Hardy going to SmackDown might be the perfect opportunity to see a different side of him. A different ego, if you will. But for the next few weeks, he’s still here so he intends to make the most of it.

Wait, who is this coming out? Austin Theory, Raw’s choice from NXT! Theory doesn’t mean to disrespect Hardy as he introduces himself and says a dream has come true. Theory got put on Raw and he gets to be in the ring with the legendary Jeff Hardy! Hardy motivated and inspired Theory and look where he is today! Theory doesn’t mean to fanboy right now, but could they take a selfie? Fans aren’t sure but Hardy gives Theory that opportunity. They take the pic, Theory saves it, then he CLOBBERS Hardy! Theory fireman’s carries to the A T L!! Hardy is down from the Austin Theory Liftoff, and Theory takes another selfie to rub it in. Is Theory going to use this to make his way up to the top?

Backstage interview with RKBRO.

Randy Orton and Matt Riddle are both still on Raw, but they’re going to defend their tag titles at Crown Jewel against AJ Styles & Omos. Riddle is just excited to have Orton back! especially with Ogre Omos choke slamming him. Is that a snake in Orton’s pocket or is he just as happy as Riddle? But hey! They’re back in action, time for sweet revenge. Speaking of, Orton took some sweet time off. He is glowing right now, like a skinless snake sitting in the sun. What? Riddle learned that snakes shed their skin in school. Orton says the useless facts are fine, but is he done? Yes. Okay. Then they have the opportunity to defend their titles and shut Styles & Omos up once and for all.

But that’s not until Crown Jewel. So don’t fret, because it’s a very special night here in Nashville. Orton has a proposition. “Omos. I’m talking to you, big brother. I think that it is time, Omos, that you finally go one on one… with the Legend Killer.” Riddle is in awe! Is the Viper about to bring down the biggest prey he’s ever gone after?

Raw returns with more draft picks!

The second round of tonight opens with Raw taking Seth Rollins! A highly logical pick, of course. SmackDown chooses… WWE Intercontinental Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura, and his rockin’ bard, Rick Boogs! The duo is fired up and rocking backstage! Raw then chooses… Damian Priest! The US Championship truly stays on Raw now that the Archer of Infamy is staying! But SmackDown takes SHEAMUS! Will the Fella make Fridays all about the fights?

Shayna Baszler VS Dana Brooke!

The Queen of Spades has been on the meanest of mean streaks and that’s still putting it mildly. But #FlexAppeal is back and she’s stepping up to fight the bully. Will Dana be the one to succeed? Or will she end up sidelined just like Nia Jax and Eva Marie?

Raw returns and Dana is in the ring. The bell rings, Dana dodges Shayna, goes after Shayna’s arm then fires off haymakers. The ref counts, Dana lets off only to tie Shayna up in the ropes. Dana digs her boots in, lets off as the ref counts, but Shayna gets her arms and brings her around for a BACKBREAKER! Dana writhes and clutches her arms as they were jammed in that move, but Shayna gets her up to whip hard into buckles! Shayna then stands on Dana, isolates the arm and lets down her hair, but Dana turns stomp into roll up! TWO, and Shayna has an ARMBAR! Dana flails, Shayna drags her into the KIRAFUDA KLUTCH!! Dana taps, Shayna wins!

Winner: Shayna Baszler, by submission

But she isn’t done! She goes out and pursues Dana. The ref tells her to back off, we’ve seen this two weeks in a row already. Shayna wrenches the arm and BOOTS it against the LED apron! Shayna smirks, pulls steel steps apart, then drags Dana over to steps! But here comes DOUDROP! Piper Niven won’t let Shayna bully Dana any longer. Shayna smirks at Piper, but then goes after her from behind! The clubbing forearm didn’t knock Piper over, and now Shayna may have picked on the wrong person. Will Piper be the one to give Shayna a taste of her own medicine?

The Usos are fired up backstage.

Heyman finishes a call but Kevin Patrick spooks him. Kevin asks that they must all feel good now that The Bloodline stays together on Raw, all thanks to Heyman’s influence. Well at least Kevin is prettier than Kayla. And yes, this is Heyman’s influence. He isn’t just the Special Counsel, he is the Warden of the Uso Penitentiary. Is that how Heyman managed Brock Lesnar’s free agency? Heyman is speechless and the Usos are in a bad mood again. They leave without him, can Heyman ever set the record straight?

Mansoor & Mustafa Ali VS Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo!

A rematch from a couple weeks ago, the Star of Saudi Arabia and the Beacon see if they can game plan a counter strategy for the lucha libre cousin combo. Will Garza & Carrillo keep their win streak going? Or can Mansoor & Mustafa finally figure teaming up out?

Mansoor starts with Carrillo, and Carrillo knees Mansoor right at the bell! Carrillo CLUBS and stomps Mansoor, then drags him up to whip him to a corner. Corner splash and fast hands! Carrillo CHOPS, stomps, then whips corner to corner. Mansoor returns to tilt-o-whirl inverted DDT! Both men crawl, hot tags to Ali and Garza! Things speed up, Ali calf kicks Garza then bumps him off buckles. Garza reverses the whip but Ali slips out of the corner to ROUNDHOUSE and somersault, into a ROLLING ELBOW! OFF COME THE PANTS! Now Garza matches Carrillo, but Ali wrenches, knees and FISHERMAN SCREW! Cover, Carrillo breaks it!

Mansoor throws Carrillo out then PLANCHAS, only to miss! Carrillo CLOBBERS Mansoor and tells him off, but Ali O’Conner Rolls! TWO, and into a buckle Garza digs his boots in, then lets off so Carrillo can POST Ali! Garza covers, he and Carrillo win!

Winners: Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo, by pinfall

Handsome for sure, but devious to boot! Will these two continue to heat things up in the Raw Tag Division?

Wait, here comes Big E! The Powerhouse of Positivity loves the energy, but what will he have to say about all things WWE Draft 2021? We find out, after the break!

Raw returns with the third round of draft picks!

Raw starts this one off with… The Phenomenal AJ Styles and Omos! It only makes sense if they’re to challenge for the Raw Tag Team Championships. But will Omos give Orton his 1v1 match? SmackDown responds with… Shayna Baszler! The Queen of Spades has a whole new set of superstars to go after now. And Raw takes the relentless Kevin Owens! The Prizefighter is back on Raw! SmackDown closes and selects NXT’s Xia Li! Tian Sha has sharpened her to a razor’s edge, who will she cut down in the near future?

Big E is in the ring!

“Nashviiiille~! It feels incredible to be on MY show, Monday Night Raw! But, I’d be lying if I said this past week or so didn’t meet me with some challenges. For one, for the second consecutive year, Kofi & Woods were drafted to a brand that I am not on.” Fans boo that, but then rally up with “NEW! DAY ROCKS!” Big E thanks them for that and notes the most physically grueling match of his career where he made sure the All Mighty Bobby Lashley fell down to his knees, and he came to show the world that he is indeed our RIGHTFUL WWE World Champion! Nashville chant “E! E! E!”

But in typical WWE fashion, before Big E could even breathe, his very next challenger came and declared himself. “This man is no joke. This man is a two-time WWE Champion. This man is an actual and literal swordsman. This man, is Drew McIntyre.” Big E won’t waste any more time by asking McIntyre to come to the ring and speak his mind. And so, here is the Scottish Warrior! And his sword, Angela, too! McIntyre joins Big E in the ring, Big E tells him to watch where he points the sword. McIntyre raises it up over his head before he sheaths it in the corner. McIntyre then gets a mic to tell Nashville, “It’s a DREW day, yes it is!”

Now McIntyre is going to SmackDown but he has unfinished business on Raw. Many months ago, he was screwed out of the WWE title and he has been biding his time. He’s been waiting for a hero to liberate the title from Lashley, and Big E did it! This is the part where most would antagonize Big E or egg him into a match, but McIntyre tells the truth. Big E deserves to be WWE Champion. Fans cheer that sentiment, and chant, “You Deserve It!” Big E has the love of the fans, of the others in the back, but surely Big E was waiting on social media for a congratulation. But McIntyre does things the old fashioned way and he wants to congratulate Big E face to face.

Fans cheer as the two shake hands, and McIntyre says, “But… Yeah, it was coming. Technically, you did cash-in on an injured Lashley. Although technically, Lashley attacked me from behind and I got cashed in on, so he does deserve it. And technically nobody likes Lashley anyway so you did the world a favor! And technically, it finally, after all this time allows me to do this. E, I challenge you for a match for the WWE Championship.” But wait, the Dirty Dawgs are here? Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler want all of this to wait a moment. Roode & Ziggler were minding their own business, waiting to here where they’re going, but couldn’t help but overhear this beautiful story.

Ziggler says this is all very inspirational. Ziggler’s a huge fan of E’s and is very proud. He even texted Big E but he left it unread and that’s fine. But this is a motivational, inspirational story. Ziggler just wanted to know why Big E was handing out congrats, he forgot Ziggler. Big E is supposed to thank Ziggler? Yeah! Many forget, but Ziggler has a reminder. Footage plays of 2013, when Ziggler was World Heavyweight Champion and Big E was his sidekick. Big E was super strong! They were at WrestleMania and beyond! Surely his mentoring had nothing to do with Big E’s success. But without Ziggler, there is no New Day, no Money in the Bank cash-in. Hell! Woods might not’ve been born! There is no Big E without #DZ!

McIntyre says Ziggler might have a point. But Ziggler reminds McIntyre where he was a few years ago. Ziggler is just bringing it up because McIntyre, another inspirational story of bringing himself back to the WWE, owes it all to Ziggler. 2018, they were a duo, helping each other out, and Ziggler was the one guiding McIntyre, all the while knowing McIntyre would main event against Brock Lesnar! All Ziggler’s ever wanted as a gentleman is a simple, “Thank you.” He did all the work, these guys rode the coattails. So he wants a thanks from them? Yes. Big E and McIntyre huddle up, and clearly Ziggler’s upgraded from them to Roode. Oh ha ha!

Roode says he is twice the friend and twice the tag team partner McIntyre ever was! As for Big E, he was a bodyguard! Bug Roode puts the “body” in bodyguard! Big E? Well this is BIG BOB! No one will ever call him that. Don’t disrespect Big Bob! And this is about Dolph! He was the kingmaker here! He is just asking for a simple thanks! “Because I am the perfect gentleman.” McIntyre and Big E nod, and McIntyre says, “What does Nashville think?” Fans boo Ziggler and Big E says they do owe something. That something is an ASS WHOOPIN’! The two Dirty Dawgs can take on Big E & BIG D! Right here, tonight, and right now!! It’s go time, after the break!

Big E & Drew McIntyre VS The Dirty Dawgs!

Raw returns and Ziggler starts against McIntyre. The bell rings, they circle, Ziggler fires off hands. McIntyre comes back and CLOBBERS Ziggler! Then he dead lift suplexes and TOSSES Ziggler to the corner! Tag to Big E and he puts Ziggler on the apron. Big E then gives Ziggler an APRON SPLASH! Ziggler flounders and Big E dares Roode to tag in. Roode tags in but things speed up and Big E hurdles to CLOBBER Roode. Big E tags in Drew, he CHOPS Roode then whips. Roode kicks back, swings but misses, NECKBREAKER and a kip up from McIntyre! Tag to Big E, he walks over into Roode’s kick. Roode bumps Big E off buckles, tags Ziggler, and they whip to dropkick! Cover, ONE!!

Big E snarls but Ziggler wraps on a chinlock. Ziggler wants Big E to show “daddy” something. Fans rally up for E and he fights up but into the Dawgs’ corner. Tag to Roode, they mug Big E, then Roode stomps a mudhole. The ref counts, Roode lets off and brings Big E up. Roode suplexes and goes to the corner to hop up. Roode leaps but the knee drop hits nothing but mat! Big E tags in McIntyre and he BOOTS Roode down! McIntyre gets Roode up, whips him to ropes and OVERHEAD Belly2Belly suplexes! McIntyre clinches in the corner, OVERHEAD Belly2Belly! Ziggler runs in but into an OVERHEAD Belly2Belly!

McIntyre runs at Roode but Roode dodges and McIntyre hits posts! Roode distracts the ref, Ziggler SUPERKICKS McIntyre down! Fans boo as the Dawgs get away with that one, and Raw goes to break.

Raw returns and Roode grinds McIntyre down with a chinlock. Fans rally as McIntyre endures and fights up to his feet. McIntyre throws body shots then ROCKS Roode with a right! McIntyre ends up in the Dawgs’ corner, he fights his way out, but Roode kicks McIntyre’s leg! Roode whips but McIntyre reverses to GLASGOW KISS! Both men are down from the headbutt and fans fire up! Roode tags Ziggler, hot tag to Big E! Big E gets DZ for an OVERHEAD B3lly2belly of his own! Then another! Then dodge to the side Belly2Belly! Fans fire up and Big E swivels them hips. Big E runs and hits the BIG SPLASH! Big E claps it up and fans join in, “NEW! DAY ROCKS!”

Big E scoops Ziggler, Ziggler claws eyes and slips off, to run and- NO! No DDT as Big E shoves Ziggler. Ziggler runs into the Urenag-E! Cover, Roode breaks it! Roode drags Big E up but is thrown out! Big E runs but into a knee! Ziggler runs up, ZIGZAG!! Cover, McIntyre breaks it in time! Roode clubs McIntyre out of the ring, then leaps, into McIntyre’s arms! OVERHEAD Belly2Belly! Ziggler still rolls Big E, TWO! SUPER- NO! Big E dodges and CLOBBERS Ziggler on the return! Straps come down and Big E drags Ziggler up! McIntyre tags in, which disappoints Big E. McIntyre gives us the countdown, and CLAYMORE!! Cover, McIntyre & Big E win!

Winners: Big E & Drew McIntyre, by pinfall

Big E is fine with McIntyre doing that, but here comes Roode! Big E intercepts, scoops and hits the BIG ENDING! McIntyre picks up the title and looks at it. Big E takes it from him, and if McIntyre wants it so bad, then it’ll be on at Crown Jewel. McIntyre likes the sound of that! Will Big E be able to keep the title away from McIntyre and SmackDown?

Reggie asks Adam Pearce for something.

Someone said Pearce wanted to talk to Reggie in regards to the Draft. Um, that’s news to Pearce. Maybe someone gave him bad info. Huh. Wait, wait, wait. The VIKING RAIDERS block Reggie’s path! R-Truth gets Reggie! Just give up the title! Reggie slips out of his jacket then dodges Truth, dodges Drew Gulak, dodges Jaxson Ryker, and dodges Drake Maverick coming in on a golf cart! Reggie goes up a table, up a crane lift’s arm, then flips off that, only to end up face to face with Apollo Crews & Azeez. Apollo says it is okay. Good to see Reggie again. Right, yeah. Maverick rushes in, Reggie dodges and the chase takes off into the night!

Apollo says he was right, things would get very exciting here on Raw. But will the Pride of Nigeria and his Commander look to take over more than just the 24/7 tier?

Kevin Owens is here!

And with him comes the KO Show! What will the Prizefighter say about what’s been happening on SmackDown?

Raw returns and Kevin doesn’t have his set, but he doesn’t have much time to say anything, anyway, as Akira Tozawa barges out! Tozawa apologizes but wants to say, Kevin is here, welcome back to Raw! Fans cheer that, but Tozawa says he isn’t here to fight Kevin. He wants to fight Reggie for the 24/7 Championship! Tozawa waits, but Kevin tosses the mic aside to STUNNER! Tozawa is down, Kevin shrugs and moves on. Will Kevin worry about venting next time?

Raw has more draft picks!

To open the fourth round, Raw chooses… The Street Profits! Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins return to Raw, Monday wants the smoke! SmackDown counters by taking the Viking Raiders! Erik & Ivar were once Raw Tag Team Champions, can they raid the SmackDown tag titles soon enough? Raw then selects… The Prince, FINN BALOR! The inaugural Universal Champion is back on the red brand, will he make Mondays Too Sweet? SmackDown closes this round with… The One & Only RICOCHET! Will going to Fridays be a fresh start for the King of Flight?

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships: Rhea Ripley & Nikki A.S.H. VS Natalya & Tamina!

#SuperBrutality is again facing the Queen of Harts & Daughter of Superfly! While they were drafted to Raw, will Rhea & Nikki keep the keys to all brands here tonight? Or will Natty & Tamina once again be statement makers and title takers?

Raw returns and Natalya & Tamina make their entrance. The introductions are made, the belts are raised, and we see if the belts stay on the red team or go back to blue.

The teams sort out, Natty starts with Nikki, kicks and bumps her off buckles, then bumps her off more buckles! And more buckles! Natty fires off in the corner, the ref counts and Natty lets off. Natty whips, Nikki goes up and over and keeps moving to dropkick Natty’s legs out. Nikki then basement dropkicks and Natty bails out. Nikki pursues and fires off hands! Natty goes around the way, Nikki chases her into the ring but Tamina tags in. Nikki DECKS Natty but Tamina BOOTS Nikki down! Tamina fires up and she drags Nikki up to bump off buckles. Tamina then TOSSES Nikki across the ring! Tamina stands Nikki up, clotheslines and HEADBUTTS Nikki down!

Tamina and Natty taunt Nashville, then Tamina toys with Nikki. Tamina fireman’s carries but Nikki slips into a SLEEPER! Rhea reaches out but Tamina throws Nikki away! SUPERKICK! Cover, Rhea breaks it in time! Tamina drags Nikki up, tags Natty, and then Natty gets the legs. Natty steps through but Nikki cradles! TWO, Nikki slips off the scoop, tag to Rhea! Rhea and Natty fire off hands, Rhea shoves Natty then dodges to dropkick Tamina! Rhea spins Natty for a short arm LARIAT! And another! Ripcord and HEADBUTT! Then a snapmare to basement dropkick! Fans fire up with Rhea and she drags Natty back up. Natty shoves but Rhea heel kicks!

Natty dodges in the corner, uses ropes to rebound Rhea for the sit-down spine jammer! Natty steps on Rhea but Rhea avoids the basement dropkick! NORTHERN LIGHTS! Bridging cover, Tamina breaks it! Tamina drags Natty to the corner, tags in, but Rhea BOOTS Tamina out! Natty & Tamina regroup, but Nikki SUPER CROSSBODIES! Nikki is fired up, she and Rhea get Tamina in! Pump handle, RIPTIDE! Tag to Nikki and she gets a boot off Rhea’s shoulders, ELECTRIC CHAIR SPLASH! Cover, Nikki & Rhea win!

Winners: Rhea Ripley & Nikki A.S.H, by pinfall (still WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions)

That was some BOOM ZIP KAPOW, superhero level action! But we all know Shotzi Blackheart & Tegan Nox are still owed a shot. Will #SuperBrutality have to worry about the tank and the Shiniest Wizard from here on out?

Raw returns with the fifth round of draft picks!

Raw opens this round with choosing… Karrion Kross! Doomsday stays on Mondays, who faces the apocalypse next? SmackDown chooses… Humberto Carrillo & Angel Garza! We just saw them win tonight, will they keep things going once they move to Fridays? Raw continues and selects… Alexa Bliss! She may be mourning Lilly, but will she be back more twisted than ever? SmackDown closes this round with Cesaro! The Swiss Cyborg stays on the blue brand, will he be able to rebuild towards the top?

GOLDBERG is here!

The Hall of Famer issued his final warning to Bobby Lashley, but now he wants a face-to-face to hear Lashley’s response. He gets the mic and shouts out SEC Country! “Bobby Lashley has the audacity to claim that what he did to my son was a ‘misunderstanding.’ It wasn’t. It was intentional! So tonight, I’m inviting Bobby Lashley in this ring so I can intentionally break his frickin’ neck.” And so here comes Lashley! Lashley tells Bill that for the last time, what happened at SummerSlam was a misunderstanding. And Goldberg must be out of his mind thinking Lashley is going to risk this custom made suit just to whoop Goldberg’s ass again. Some people aren’t still dressing like it’s 1998.

Lashley knows Goldberg is angry, but Goldberg needs to understand Lashley’s perspective. This is character assassination, Goldberg owes Lashley an apology. They will have a match, at Crown Jewel, but under one condition! The match is NO HOLDS BARRED. Goldberg is happy for that! He thanks Lashley for that! That match gives Goldberg “license to kill!” Lashley thinks Goldberg is crazy? Well he is! Lashley wants an apology? Here it is: Goldberg will apologize to Lashley’s kids after he leaves Lashley gasping for air in the ring. “Because there’s one thing for sure, Bobby Lashley. You’re next. And, you’re dead!” Does the Rocky Mountain Machine realize what he just gave Goldberg?

But Lashley says Goldberg can’t kill the All Mighty. And the fruit doesn’t fall too far from the tree, so let Gage know that if he has the balls to do what he did last time, then it won’t be a misunderstanding this time. So what would Goldberg do if someone came out and jumped on his back? Like right now! THE HURT BUSINESS jump Goldberg from behind! But Goldberg elbows Shelton Benjamin away, throws off Cedric Alexander then KNEES him down! Benjamin swings, Goldberg dodges and SPEARS! Prime Alexander and the Gold Standard just got steamrolled, will far worse happen to Lashley at Crown Jewel?

Backstage interview with Seth Rollins.

The Visionary sings, “Guess who’s back? Back again! Sethy’s back! Tell your friends!” And guess what? The best part is, Mikey (Kevin), is that Rollins is better than ever! But also drafted to Raw is- No no no, do NOT say his name. This is Rollins’ party! Don’t rain on his parade. Rollins takes care of that business on SmackDown. This is Raw. Rollins doesn’t give a s*it who steps to him! He is a visionary! He is a revolutionary! He is SETH FREAKIN’ ROLLINS! Party time! Pints!! Is Rollins going to compartmentalize between the brands the next few weeks?

The New Day VS The Hurt Business!

Well, we just saw Cedric & Shelton try to punk out Goldberg only to made into the punks. Will the Power of Positivity only add to their misery here tonight?

Raw returns and Benjamin starts with Kofi. They tie up, Shelton RAMS Kofi into the corner, throws hands, then lets off as the ref counts. Shelton hits Kofi again, whips then back drops! Kofi crashes, Shelton takes a breath then tags in Cedric. They mug Kofi, Cedric CLUBS and stomps Kofi down, then drags him up to tag Shelton back in. Shelton throws hands, then forearms, then whips corner to corner. Kofi goes up and hits a TORNADO DDT! Both men are down and fans rally up. Hot tags to Cedric and Woods! Woods rallies on Cedric, dodges and LEG LARIATS! Woods whips, Cedric reverses but Woods tilt-o-whirls to a RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP!

Woods runs in at the corner but is put out. Woods falls off the apron, but he dodges Shelton. Kofi DOUBLE STOMPS Shelton down, Woods ROCKS and GAMANGIRIS Cedric down! Woods walks the tightrope for the LIMIT BREAKER! Cover, New Day wins!

Winners: The New Day, by pinfall

Woods shouts, “CROWN ME! CROWN ME! CROWN ME! ALL HAIL KING WOODS!!” But out come The Street Profits! Nashville chants, “We want the smoke!” but the Profits congratulate the New Day. Congrats on their new movie, too, “Escape the Undertaker.” How did they do it? No, that’s spoilers. But all the chopping up they did on SmackDown, the Profits want to congratulate the New Day on this win. Plus, they wanted to tell the WWE Universe that they are back on Monday Night Raw! And #WeWantTheSmoke! Everyone high fives and share the drinks. Kofi loves it! Will they each love being on their new home brands after Crown Jewel?

RKBRO head to the ring!

The Bro scoots alongside The Viper, but will the Mountain of a Main accept the 1v1 challenge? We find out, after the break.

Raw returns and Orton has a mic. “Omos. I’m here, and I am ready.” We still haven’t gotten a response for the challenge, so it makes Orton wonder… Is Omos AJ Styles’ personal colossus? Or just a big bitch? Styles & Omos head out now, and Styles has the music cut short to say, “Are you kidding me? You want a response?” They were celebrating Styles’ win over Gilligan there. Riddle is Gilligan cuz Styles is Skipper. But anyway, Orton is insignificant. It doesn’t matter if Omos destroys Orton tonight or not, and he would. Because frankly Randy, does Riddle have any brain cells left to stop Styles & Omos from taking the titles at Crown Jewel?

It’s great that they’ve all been drafted to Raw, actually! Because Styles & Omos can gloat week after week that they brought an end to this asinine team known as R K BRO. And as far as the 1v1 goes- Orton DECKS Styles! Omos DECKS Riddle, and these two are 1v1 after all! Orton dodges Omos, to RKO Styles! RKBRO bails out, because this was never about going 1v1 tonight! Can Orton and Riddle make sure Styles and Omos only get beat at Crown Jewel?

Raw returns with the last round of the entire draft!

Raw opens this sixth round with choosing… Carmella! The Most Beautiful Woman in ALL of the WWE is here on Mondays, and she is happy to hear it! SmackDown chooses… NXT’s RIDGE HOLLAND! Northern Grit is going to make the blue brand black ‘n’ blue! Raw chooses the NCAA champion and 2020 gold medalist, GABLE STEVESON! And SmackDown closes out the year with the very last pick! SAMI ZAYN! The Great Liberator is staying on SmackDown, will he continue to claim conspiracy now that he’s Mr. Irrelevant?

Charlotte Flair VS Bianca Belair!

So the Queen is still Raw Women’s Champion, but she’s going to SmackDown after Crown Jewel. Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch are going to Raw but they’ll be battling for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Crown Jewel. Will the EST defeat one champion before going after the other? Or will Bianca’s return to Raw be ruined before it’s even official?

But wait! Here comes Big Time Becks! She clearly wants to see this up close and personal. But will she have any affect on the outcome like she did on Friday? We find out, after the break.

Raw returns once again and the bell rings. The fans cheer for “E S T! E S T!” but Charlotte keeps her cool. Charlotte and Bianca circle, tie up, and go around. Charlotte headlocks, hits a takeover, but Bianca moves around to headscissor. Bianca squeezes tight but Charlotte kips free, only for Bianca to headlocks. Bianca hits a takeover but Charlotte headscissors. Bianca pries free then kips up and runs in, but Charlotte sweeps. Cover, ONE! Bianca sweeps, covers, ONE! Charlotte kicks low, throws Bianca by her hair, then smirks as she stands over her. Things speed up, Charlotte cartwheels and handsprings, but Bianca returns the favor!

Bianca scoops, Charlotte slips off, things keep moving and Charlotte basement dropkicks! Charlotte kips up again and grins as she has Bianca in a corner. Charlotte bumps Bianca off buckles, whips and bumps Bianca into more buckles, but gets annoyed as fans chant for the EST. Charlotte whips corner to corner, Bianca goes up and over and handsprings to a corner to say kiss this. Charlotte runs in, Bianca goes up and over again then dropkicks Charlotte down! Bianca kips up and fans fire up and says kiss this again. But Charlotte rolls it up, TWO! Bianca kicks low, bumps Charlotte off buckles and brings Charlotte around for another buckle bump.

Bianca taunts Charlotte, runs in but Charlotte BOOST her! Charlotte whips Bianca to a corner, Bianca reverses but Charlotte tumbles up then out. Charlotte shoulders into Bianca, ROCKS her with a forearm, then drags Bianca out to the apron. Bianca fights back with body shots, ROCKS Charlotte in return, then reels Charlotte in. Charlotte pulls the ponytail to block the suplex! Charlotte kicks low, turns Bianca around, BACKBREAKER to ELBOW DROP DDT to the apron! Charlotte drags Bianca down to TOSS her into the timekeeper’s area! Charlotte soaks up the heat and mocks the EST as Raw goes to break.

Raw returns once more and Charlotte has a dragon sleeper on Bianca! Bianca fights with knees, then uses the corner to go up and over. Bianca runs into a knee from Charlotte, but she dodges the boot to dropkick! Bianca wrenches Charlotte to a suplex and she holds Charlotte up for a count of 10! Cover, TWO! Bianca stomps Charlotte and handsprings to a MOONSAULT onto knees! Charlotte CHOPS Bianca, then CHOPS again! And again! Bianca dodges but she runs into a clothesline from Charlotte! Charlotte rolls Bianca up, TWO! Charlotte dead lifts Bianca to a POWERBOMB! Cover, TWO!

Charlotte goes to a corner and aims as Bianca rises. Charlotte runs in as fans duel, Bianca slips out of Natural Selection! Bianca wrenches sand suplexes but charlotte slips out to use the ponytail! Bianca ROCKS Charlotte, torture racks, KISS OF- NO! Charlotte lands on her feet, both women dodge the other, SPEAR from Charlotte! Cover, TWO!! Charlotte is furious but she also grins as she stalks Bianca to a corner. Bianca back elbows but Charlotte ROCKS her back. Charlotte has the leg but Bianca avoid the knee drop! SPINEBUSTER! Not the cleanEST but still good! High stack, TWO! Charlotte survives but Bianca puts her in a drop zone!

Bianca climbs up, but Charlotte bumps ropes to trip her up! And then BOOTS her down! Charlotte climbs up as Becky boasts on commentary, MOONSAULT but Bianca moves, SECOND MOONSAULT! Cover, TWO!! Charlotte hurries to get a leg, but Bianca turns the Figure Four into and inside cradle! TWO, and Bianca ROCKS Charlotte! Torture rack, KISS OF DEATH!! Cover, but Becky drags Bianca out?!

Winner: Bianca Belair, by disqualification

And Becky RAMS her into steps! BECKSPLODER into barriers! And then Becky puts Bianca back in the ring for a MANHANDLE SLAM! But SASHA BANKS is here! And she’s getting revenge on Becky! Mudhole stomps and a METEORA! But then METEORA for Bianca! Sasha stomps Bianca but Becky fires off on Sasha! Sasha gets around to hit a BACKSTABBER! The Legit Boss just sent a message to both the Man and the EST, will she be the one keeping the SmackDown Women’s Championship on Friday Night SmackDown?

My Thoughts:

Another pretty good Raw, even with the Draft. Quite a few of the supplemental picks from after SmackDown surprised me. I thought this was the chance for Nia to go to SmackDown but guess not. And Alpha Academy coming to Raw makes sense after seeing that Gable Stevenson is skipping NXT to be right on Raw. I have a feeling Stevenson interacts with Chase Gable & Otis right away, given Chad is a former Olympiad. But the entire 24/7 “Division” being kept on Raw makes sense. It seems only USA Network cares about this title and the pseudo American Ninja Warrior moments backstage with Reggie and the others.

One thing surprising was that the draft and the countdown to Crown Jewel is clearly putting a finite point on a few of the smaller feuds. Shayna beat Dana quickly but Piper stopped her from breaking Dana, only for Shayna to be drafted to SmackDown. Garza & Carrillo go to SmackDown, which does help that division build up a bit, and puts a pin on the feud with Mansoor & Ali. But only seeing T-Bar and not Mace in the supplemental picks, I wonder if the two of them finally ditch their Retribution gimmicks, as random as that’d be. Tozawa’s newest shtick seems to be similar to what John Morrison’s was a few weeks ago: getting beat up by guys that’re too much for him.

Kevin Owens being split of from Sami Zayn kills my hopes of them feuding with “Happy” Corbin & “Madcap” Moss to then move on to the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, and this might even be a sign Kevin is leaving to join his friends in AEW. On the other hand, Raw naturally secures the Raw Tag Team Champions and their challengers so that the titles stay put no matter what, and they can perpetuate that feud forever. The segment between RKBRO and Styles & Omos was alright, but it gets them screen time. But Austin Theory had a great impact his first day back going after Hardy. Also, why the hell is Vince acting like Theory wasn’t here during ThunderDome era?

Rhea & Nikki VS Natty & Tamina was good but obviously filler because who else does WWE even have right now before all these draft picks and call ups take effect? I was most disappointed that Natty & Tamina didn’t break up over this. Tamina should stay on SmackDown, Natty should be a supplemental pick to Raw. Tamina goes Bloodline, Natty at least gets to give more midcard strength to Raw. And as for Shotzi & Tegan still waiting their turn, that better happen on the “season premiere” of SmackDown as an aside to the King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown tournaments starting. Plus, it’s been over two months so what the hell are they waiting for?

We got a good segment out of Heyman and the Usos, but it seems almost too easy to just let the pick go the right way. Why not actually show some Heyman wheelin’ ‘n’ dealin’ skills by saying Usos can be traded back to SmackDown? Give Raw the New Day back and certainly fans like myself will be happy! Then there will be more purpose to New Day VS Hurt Business tonight! For that matter, Hurt Business look real weak losing right after failing to beat down Goldberg. Lashley VS Goldberg, No Holds Barred is fine, but feels like more of an excuse to have Hurt Business work as a trio against Goldberg, only for Gage to help out or something.

Big E and Drew McIntyre did have a really good match with the Dirty Dawgs, and naturally we’re getting Big E VS McIntyre at Crown Jewel. McIntyre will lose, move on to SmackDown, and try again with the Universal Championship. Sheamus going to SmackDown makes sense, because I’ve been wanting him to get the Intercontinental Championship for a Grand Slam this whole time. Rollins had a quick but great promo, because it adds to how complex his character is becoming. And we got great stuff out of the women’s title story, with Becky here giving away she is now on Raw, and her stirring up trouble with Charlotte and Bianca.

Charlotte VS Bianca was really good, and Sasha showing up making that big statement works. There is a possibility that Sasha Banks comes away with the SmackDown title at Crown Jewel because she’ll be staying on SmackDown through the draft. It’s either that or as I theorized on SmackDown, the SmackDown title is with someone drafted to Raw, we get a title trade like the New Day and Profits last year.

My Score: 8.2/10

Andrew’s TNA iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 4.18.2024

Motor City Machine Guns either go out on their backs, or head to Rebellion as champs! Lets see how they finish their current run in TNA!

Published

on

No burying the lead here! The Main Event is The System versus Motor City Machine Guns, and it’s the Go Home episode before Rebellion! So we’re guaranteed a damn good tag match, and we should get either new wrinkles, or ways to keep the storylines cooking going into the Pay-per-View.

With all the rumors and innuendo about the Guns being on their way out, I think we all assume that MCMG is losing, but my inner fanboy is still excited.

Ratings:

  • Little Guido w/New FBI vs Hammerstone: Hammerstone wins via Torture Rack – SQUASH
  • LSG vs Joe Hendry: Hendry wins via Standing Ovation – SQUASH
  • Mustafa Ali & GYV vs Cody Deaner, Jake Something & Rhyno: Ali wins via 450 Splash – ** 3/4
  • Rosemary w/Havok vs Jody Threat w/Dani Luna: Rosemary wins via Spear – ***
  • Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) vs The System (Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers) w/Alisha Edwards: System wins via Roster Cut + Knee Party – *** 1/4

Results:

So we kick off the match with Josh coming out to commentary again to watch Hammerstone’s match. They really need a new way to try and keep heat without reusing the same tired gimmick of “ring side seat” to a Squash match.

Little Guido w/New FBI vs Hammerstone

Guido tries to shoot the half, but Hammerstone shrugs him off, lifts him like a child and runs him into a corner, few short shots and then just tosses him across the ring. Hammer gets a little distracted talking smack to Josh and eats a foot, but then tosses Guido with the ole Sack of Shit move and keeps working over Guido.

Hammer shoves Clayton, and provokes him to push him back right in front of the referee. She ejects them, Guido tries to take advantage but when he goes for the pinfall Hammer kicks out immediately and presses Guido out of thing through the ropes. Continues to dog walk Guido, puts the head gear on the ECW Original and then Torture Racks him while staring directly at Josh, and of course picks up the submission victory.

LSG vs Joe Hendry

Hendry cuts a little promo, mentioning the Fat Uncle Phil joke…something about shopping at the TOP Dollar Store. Solid mic work.

LSG is a damn good local talent, he’s been seen in ROH and AEW in the past (perhaps others, but that’s what comes to mind immediately for me), but we all know this is an enhancement match. A few nice chain wrestling spots early, but Hendry uses his power to stop the smaller wrestler, Sack of Shit into Standing Ovation and the match is over quickly.

Mustafa Ali & GYV vs Cody Deaner, Jake Something & Rhyno

Well okay, having Deaner ask the crowd if they wanted a 3v2 or their third member…RHYNO…is pretty much a no brainer in Philly. But at least the gimmick isn’t quite as cringe as I expected.

Jake starts with Zack Gibson and throws him around. Jake goes for the tag and Deaner asks the crowd who Jake should tag, and the crowd picks Rhyno. Rhyno Whips Gibson into a corner, Drake actually softens the impact, allowing Gibson to fire back, tag out, but Rhyno levels both GYV members and then even knocks Ali off the apron. Rhyno tries to call to the crowd to tag in Deaner and that goes over like a fart in church. He tags him in anyway, and the crowd is kinda dead and doing whatever it wants after the obvious ECW chants when Rhyno tagged in.

GYV take a couple lumps but they of course start to work over Deaner and capture some momentum. Solid tandem work from GYV, they cut off Deaner from making a tag and goad Jake a little to cause the ref to block off the babyfaces so the heels can take a few shortcuts. Cody eventually makes the tag to Rhyno, hot tag, he tries to set up the Gore but the GYV manage to stop him in his tracks and hit an Enzuigiri to daze the Man Beast, he falls to his corner and Jake tags himself in. Jake literally runs them all over, tags in Cody and Launches him from the Top Rope into Zack Gibson. Ali makes the save and Jake tries to get his hands on Ali, but the GYV keep throwing themselves at him, literally. The triple team finally gets the best of Jake, they hit 3 Dives and then post Jake, so they gather around Cody like hyenas.

They forgot about Rhyno, he’s set up for a Gore, he Gores Drake, Gibson and Ali take out Rhyno, but then Cody starts to fight back. Ali stops Deaner’s offense with an Avalanche Sunset Bomb, then hits his 450 Splash. Jake barely misses being able to break up the pin.

Rosemary w/Havok vs Jody Threat w/Dani Luna

Jody tries to start quickly with Shoulder Tackles, Lariats and Scoop Slams, and it does seem somewhat effective. Rosemary is having trouble finding offense against the intensity, but she keeps kicking out. Shotgun Dropkick finally gives Rosemary an opening, she goes into full mount and rains down strikes. Rosemary shoves Jody into a corner and Bites her in the corner. Jody tries to fight out, they go across and Rosemary catches her with the legs and puts her in the Upside Down. Splash in the corner from Rosemary, Exploder Suplex and Jody is eating a lot of offense.

Rosemary looks like she’s caught after she gets tripped up into the ropes and Jody goes for her Rope Knee into the German, but Rosemary dodges. Rosemary hits her own suplex and pulls out a beautiful Last Chancery! I haven’t seen her do that in a long time. Jody manages to fight to the ropes, Rosemary is a little slow to capitalize and eats a Pump Kick. Rosemary goes flying into the ropes, Jody hits the Double Knees into the German this time for 2, and they trade a few haymakers after that. Jody folds Rosemary with a low Lariat, Zombie rise spot a few times, Jody goes for a pinfall and Rosemary kicks out.

Havok jumps up on the apron, Dani meets her and they decide to step down, but the distraction was enough. Jody turns around and eats a Spear. Rosemary wins!

Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) vs The System (Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers) w/Alisha Edwards

Eddie and Shelley start off, and its a very simple slow start. Mostly an early stalemate, the typical Japanese style the TNA seem to love to employ. Starters tag out, but then Shelley with the blind tag, Sabin Baseball Slides out, picks Eddie’s ankle and sends his face bouncing off the apron, while Shelley sneaks up being Myers and they hit a tandem move before we cut to commercial. Off of the commercial it looks like Eddie and Myers regained control. But a nice Jawbreaker from Shelley sends Eddie falling back into the MCMG corner. Dragon Screws to both legs from Sabin and Shelley, and we get the Dragon Screw dissection spot for the Guns.

Myers gets sick of things, tries to get involved, but Simultaneous Figure Fours from the MCMG makes The System look silly. Alisha does the classic “push the rope forward” gimmick to assist Eddie in breaking the hold. She keeps chirping at Shelley until she finally grabs his foot. Shelley doesn’t take kindly, tries to grab her by the hair but she gets away, Shelley eats a strike and falls back to the ropes so Lish can just throttle him with the rope, Sabin walks over and acts like he’s going to PK her and the look of disgust on her face is hilarious, like “how dare he threaten to kick her”. Would I be mad is Masha decides to team with Lish and they win the Knockouts Tag titles? No, because the Knockouts Tags are trash. But I still prefer Lish as valet/manager.

Shelley starts fighting back after another commercial break, Eddie tries to cut him off, but Sabin clocks Eddie and Shelley manages to make the tag and Sabin comes in. Lights up both System members, Kick off Tornado DDT, into a Running Gamengiri. Eddie tries to counter but Shelley assists, tandem strikes, Double Baseball Slide into the classic MCMG spot 5 Hole Dive! Keeping up with the classics Shelley stacks the System members on each other and hit the Missile Dropkick/Flatliner spot. As the Guns are rolling, Sabin accidentally catches Sabin with his foot and The System take control! They hit their pieces of the System Overload spot, but Sabin kicks out. Roster Cut attempt from Myers, but Shelley is back. High Speed Dirt, Machine Gun Sandwich, but Lish grabs Shelley’s foot when they’re setting up Skull and Bones. Shelley gets dropped on the turnbuckle and thrown out, Sabin eats the Roster Cut followed up with Boston Knee Party and System retains!

Its a little weird to have had the two commercial cuts and the fact there’s still Nic Nemeth to follow. So it feels a little flat, I hope this wasn’t their swan song match, because it was nice to see some classic spots, but it was entirely too abbreviated.

Nemeth comes out, goes into the crowd and finds a kid with a kendo stick and borrows a beer from someone, so he does a bit of a Sandman tribute. Moose cuts off his promo basically immediately. He throws out the “can’t beat the system” line again, and Nic rolls with the punches well. Moose uses a few cute analogies about Nic having a failure laden past, but Nemeth bites back and its really damn good. He says he can see it in Moose’s eyes that he thinks he’s getting in the ring with Dolph Ziggler, but no, there is no more old Dolph Ziggler, just the new Nic Nemeth. And Moose’s cool seems to be slightly shaken after those words. Good promo.

Overall Score: 6.5/10

So this was okay, if it didn’t end as strongly as it did, I would’ve rated this much lower. Two squash matches in the beginning, reusing the Josh comes out to the announce table to watch trope is boring, hell even Clayton’s shove to Hammerstone was super lame looking. The Deaner match was luke warm at best, but things picked up around the Rosemary match.

Lets also not overlook the segments with ASH & Xia, Jonathan Gresham’s whole deal and EY having to return to the violence/sickness/world class maniac, whatever you want to call it, were all great building blocks. This definitely wasn’t what I would call a strong Go Home, but it didn’t hurt things for Rebellion. The whole injury of Cardona was addressed, which honestly sounded weird since Jordynne basically said she was expecting them to have a backup plan so she has a backup plan. I don’t really like how that video package came across.

But who knows, all I know is, this wasn’t an awful episode, it just wasn’t really strong either.  Here’s to hoping Rebellion Saturday is still strong.

A big win for BK! And he gives back that sarcastic handshake. Will the Bounty Hunter be hot on the trail of a championship after AEW & ROH pass through the Gateway City?

Mark Sterling speaks.

“If you ask AI to create the perfect professional wrestler, it wouldn’t even come close to you. If wrestling is a body business, then you’re a multinational corporation. Biology defying symmetry, no fat, all muscle, no waste. As functional as you are aesthetic. High-flying? You got it. Ground ‘n’ pound? You got that, too. Striking, brawling, submission, technical, there is not a single style you have not perfected. For the last 20 years, you’ve been one of the most consistent and proficient wrestling specimens for any company that’s been willing to throw money at you and begged you to stay. And now, it’s time for them to beg for mercy.

“You are Tony Nese, and you are a Premier Athlete.”

Now Mark Sterling & The Premier Athletes are here in person.

They stand backstage, Sterling’s guys in matching tracksuits, and he says the last time he looked into the camera, he told everyone he had a plan. The very next day, they enacted that plan. Sterling took them off the road, they entered a professional fight camp. They got the best coaches, best trainers, best doctors, and these three started to do what they do best: go to work. Supercard of Honor, against two former ROH TV Champions, PA got an impressive victory. Fruits of their labor. Ariya Daivari is back better than ever. Josh Woods is bigger and better than he was when he won the National Championship. And Tony Nese is in the best shape of his life, which is saying something.

In fact, what’re we even talking about? These three are the most underappreciated athletes in the company. They walk like stars, they move like stars, they present themselves like stars, and by the end of this year, they will be champions. Supercard was just phase one of this plan. Phase two… starts tonight. Then just what happens when the Premier Athletes start making moves?

Lee Johnson VS JD Drake!

Even though he lost at Supercard, Big Shotty stays positive! He got close to the ROH World Television Championship, will he get back there for another shot? Or will Scrap Metal be another speedbump in Lee’s momentum?

The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings, and the fans rally as the two circle. They tie up, JD HIP TOSSES, and Lee scrambles to ropes. JD flexes and fans cheer, which surprises JD. Lee gets up, he and JD reset. They tie up, JD arm-drags, but Lee gets up. Lee keeps calm while JD talks some smack. They circle, tie up again, and JD scoops! JD carries Lee around, with one arm! Then SLAM! JD dusts off his hands and the fans fire up more. Lee is a bit frustrated, but he fires himself up. The fans rally with him, he and JD circle to tie up. Lee goes to hip toss, but JD blocks! JD tells Lee he knows that’s not gonna work!

JD goes to hip toss but now Lee blocks! Lee arm-drags, then he goes to feint, but JD blocks with a headlock. Lee shoves JD, tries another arm-drag, but JD blocks that. JD whips Lee, Lee ducks ‘n’ dodges and arm-drags again! The fans fire up as Lee tries to scoop, but JD’s too hefty! JD SLAPS Lee, ROCKS him, then whips him to ropes. Lee ducks ‘n’ dodges again, shoves JD and hurdles! Lee drops, then DROPKICKS! JD staggers to a corner, Lee fires up, and the fans fire up with him! Lee runs up on JD in a corner to CHOP! JD barely flinches! JD puts his arms back and dares Lee to try again. Lee CHOPS, but JD puts Lee in the corner!

Lee falls, the fans rally up, and JD dusts himself off. JD storms back up on Lee, brings him up, and the fans rally. JD ROCKS Lee, stands him up in the corner, and CHOPS! The fans “WOO~!” while Lee sputters. The fans want that “One More Time!” so JD stands Lee up. JD winds up, to JAB! The fans boo JD trolling them, but JD stands Lee up to CHOP him after all! Lee is stinging, but JD brings him up. Lee throws body shots but JD ROCKS Lee!

JD whips, Lee sunset flips! JD stays up, but Lee avoids the hip drop! Ghost pin, TWO! JD gets up, kicks low and whips, to SPINEBUSTER! Cover, TWO! Lee stays in this and the fans rally up. JD sits Lee up, KICKS him in the back, then paces around. The fans rally for Lee but JD pie faces him around. Lee rises, JD brings him up and Lee CHOPS! And CHOPS! And CHOPS again! JD throat chops! The ref reprimands, JD claims he jabbed to the chest. JD then scoops and SLAMS Lee, to then FALLING HEADBUTT! Cover, TWO! Lee is still in this but JD CHOKES him! The ref counts, JD lets off, claiming he was just checking the pulse.

JD clamps on a chinlock, digging his knee into Lee’s back. Lee endures, the fans rally up, and Lee fights to his feet. Lee throws body shots, but JD knees low! JD suplexes but Lee slips free! Lee hurries up while JD is down! The fans cheer as Lee aims, FROG SPLASH, but JD moves! Lee rolls through, runs back at JD but JD puts him on the apron. JD ROCKS Lee, goes up, and he brings Lee around. The fans fire up as JD brings Lee up, but Lee fires body shots! Lee GAMANGIRIS, then climbs! Lee sunset flips for the POWERBOMB! Lexi Nair is with La Wera Loca and brings up her trios match alongside Diamante and Leila Grey. But this is also the first time we’ve seen her since Supercard, where Johnny TV lost to Dalton Castle. The question is: where is Johnny? Uh, recovering from that vicious attack by Dalton Castle and his “special boy,” Paul Walter-Whatever! Taya is gonna call up Fran Dreischer to file a complaint! For someone so TV Ready, Castle and Paul sure don’t look it. So yes, Johnny is rehabbing. Wait he’s in rehab? Ew, no, who do you think they are? Johnny is rehabbing the abs! Lexi is with the First Lady of Wrestling and her baby boys, the Diamond in the Rough wearing the stolen mask from Serpentico. Lexi congratulates them on their win over Spanish Announce Project at Supercard, but it seems there might be some unfinished business. Are they ever going to give Seprentico his masks back? Karter takes the mask off to say hell no! Griff says Serpentico’s masks mean a lot to him and his lucha libre culture. But uh, they don’t care! It got them the attention that they deserve, and those wins have been a stepping stone in this company.

If Serpentico wants his masks back, he doesn’t need to trick them into a match. They’re happy to beat the crap outta him anytime, anywhere! Maria loves the confidence, and says Griff will need it in his Proving Grounds match against THE ROH World Champion, Mark Briscoe. Griff is all fired up, will the Ivy League MVP pass the test with flying colors? Or will he fail to #ManUp?

The Beast Mortos VS Nick Comoroto!

Black Taurus has evolved into something even more menacing than before, and he is looking to stampede all the way to the top of ROH! But Mr. Freak Beast has changed a lot about himself, too, in hopes of finding success. Whose transformation will prove to be for the better as these behemoths collide?

The Code of Honor is upheld reluctantly, the bell rings, and the fans rally up. The two tie up, go around, and Comoroto shoves Mortos down! Comoroto is big and bad but this is a beast of a different breed! Will nothing stop the modern day minotaur from making ROH his domain? Will Jacoby Watts’ teachings ever pay off for Comoroto?

Backstage interview with Nick Comoroto.

Lexi is with Mr. Freakbeast as he returns backstage, and she asks him what his strategy will be moving forward after this tough loss. Jacoby Watts walks in to say, “Turn the page. Start a new chapter. Nothing changes if nothing changes, Nick. It’s a harsh reality. But I am your answer. Your beacon of hope in the darkness. Follow me and I will lead you into the light! For I am Jacoby Watts, the one and only, praise be to he, and he is me.” Watts waxes poetic while making himself the focus, but will Comoroto accept his guidance?

ROH World Championship Proving Ground Match: Mark Briscoe VS Griff Garrison w/ Cole Karter & Maria Kanellis!

The Sussex County Chicken won this title after a war with Eddie Kingston at Supercard, and those two are still going to be friends taking on The House of Black this Sunday! But will Mark be able to focus on tonight with Dynasty on the horizon? Or is this where Maria’s baby boys start building their kingdom?

Mark shows off the belt and its new camouflage patterned leather! The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings and we’re on the clock. The fans cheer on Mark as he circles with Griff. Griff sputters, Mark goes to the apron, and the fans fire up as Mark takes aim. But then Karter and Maria stand in the way! The fans boo, Mark sighs and steps inside, and Maria coaches Griff up. Griff flounders up, the fans rally behind Mark but then Karter and Maria each get on the apron! The ref is busy arguing with Maria but Karter distracts Mark. Griff sneaks in to CLOBBER Mark! Griff fires forearms while the fans boo, but then Griff stomps a mudhole into Mark. The ref counts as Griff digs his boots in, but Griff lets off at 4. But then that lets Karter CHOKE Mark behind the ref’s back!

Winner: Mark Briscoe, by pinfall (denies Griff Garrison a title opportunity)

Maria is upset but there’s nothing she can do, her baby boy wasn’t man enough to stop the NEW ROH World Champion! Will Mark continue to carry on his brother’s legacy and become one of the best champions in ROH history?

My Thoughts:

A very good episode of ROH for being 92 minutes. I still skipped some very clear filler, but Marti Belle got a good showing in her loss to Frost and The Dark Order got a good match out of Zak & Frank. Cruz, Damian & Savion got an okay showing but c’mon, they were against Archer & The Righteous, those guys have been running through everyone. It hasn’t really led them to anything yet, but maybe after we get undisputed AEW & ROH World Trios Champions after Dynasty, Archer & Righteous challenge the winners. And real good wins for Bryan Keith and Lee Johnson, each guy looking good towards midcard titles at some point.

Really good match from Infantry VS Savages, with the Savages being a bit more Heelish this time. Good win for Infantry, but I didn’t think The Premier Athletes would be going after them first. And I didn’t expect Faces like Keith, Lee and Briscoe to run out to get at them. Maybe the Premier Athletes can also position themselves to go after the trios titles after Dynasty. If The Acclaimed win, they’ll need Heel opponents. Archer & Righteous can play either side, but fans really like Archer so I kinda want him and Righteous to be Faces when facing Bang Bang Gang.

Good match and good win for Abadon over Allysin. Good win for Kiera, Leyla & Adora, though things got a little sloppy in the middle, Leyla’s timing wasn’t quite there. Athena & Billie are both Heels, so while Queen Aminata is in the mix, the champion she doesn’t choose still needs a good Face challenger so you can take your pick of the winners from tonight. Really good match from Mortos and Comoroto, and Mortos winning also helped serve Comoroto’s story with Watts. Watts keeps insisting he’s the answer, but this has to lead to Comoroto breaking free and beating Watts up for his arrogance.

Good promo from Maria, Griff & Karter, and they just kinda copy-pasted Mark Briscoe’s promo from Collision that same Saturday. Really good match for Griff against Mark but of course Mark wins. Mark getting involved with Premier Athletes, maybe Woods or Nese get a shot at Mark only to lose and be Mark’s solid first defense. Not sure who could be a more prolonged feud with Mark, but there are plenty of possibilities, and I’m just happy to see him showing up on ROH TV as the ROH World Champion should.

My Score: 8.5/10
