Once again, the #1 ranked contenders are teaming with the AEW World Tag Team Champions, upping the ante from the advertised 8 Man to a full 5v5! But how will adding Captain Charisma and Big Money Matt change the dynamics for this Dynamite showdown?

The teams sort out, Cash Wheeler starts against Christian and fans are already fired up. Cash and Christian circle, fans duel, and the two tie up. Cash puts Christian in a corner but Christian turns it around. Cash turns it back around, but Christian breaks free and the fans cheer the exchange. Cash double guns and circles with Christian. Christian and Cash knuckle lock, Cash waistlocks and SLAMS, then facelocks. The AAA Tag Team Champions get another one over on the Lucha Brothers by way of Captain Charisma! Will this change the dynamics of the top five rankings in the tag division? Or will this only add fuel to the fire between Jurassic Express and the AEW World Tag Team Champions?

Six Man Tag: Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz VS Daniel Garcia & 2point0!

The Mad King just wanted some peace and quiet, but couldn’t get that with Matt Lee, Jeff Parker and “their son,” Daniel Garcia buzzing around him. One thing led to another, Garcia & 2point0 knocked Chris Jericho down, and now Proud ‘n’ Powerful are coming for blood! Will Kingston, Santana & Ortiz show they’re scarier than Red Death?

The trios sort out and Kingston is ready. Matt Lee steps up, the bell rings and while Garcia distracts Kingston, Lee attacks from behind! Lee CHOPS but Kingston doesn’t even flinch! Lee kicks low, whips, Kingston reverses to knee low and suplex! Kingston rushes after Garcia! They go around the outside, Parker is a shield but Kingston runs through him! The ref goes out there, and so do Santana & Ortiz, and now it’s a scrum with the ref stuck in the middle! The ref gets them to break it up but barely as Lee is sent into railing. Kingston gets back in, Garcia again acts as a decoy and Lee attacks! Tag to Parker and he fires off hands!

Fans rally for Kingston and he carries Parker for a SPINEBUSTER! Kingston drags Parker up, fish hooks his mouth, then tags Ortiz. Ortiz headlocks and grinds Parker down. Parker pulls hair, throws body shots, then powers out. Ortiz goes up and over then gets around to chicken wing and arm-drag! Parker trips Ortiz, covers, ONE, but Parker kicks low. Parker throws hands, whips, but Ortiz gets around to shove and trip him up! CALF KICK! Cover, TWO! Ortiz headlocks, Santana tags in, they double whip Parker to leap frog and KICK, ENZIGURI and DISCUS! Fans fire up with Proud ‘n’ Powerful, Santana grabs Parker but Parker scrambles away to tag Garcia!

Garcia talks trash, dodges Santana and kicks low to whip. Santana reverses, runs in and back elbows! Santana runs in again, blocks the boot, and ENZIGURIS Garcia back! Santana snap suplexes, Uno Amigo! Snap suplex, Dos Amigos! Snap suplex, THREE AMIGOS! Fans are fired up for Latino Heat and Santana drags Garcia up to CHOP him! Kingston grabs Garcia and BITES his forehead! The ref reprimands and counts, Kingston stops and Santana tags Ortiz. PNP whip, but Garcia BOOTS and forearms back! But he ends up in the clinch! Lift and wheelbarrow COMPLETE SHOT! Cover, TWO! Ortiz drags Garcia up to CHOP!

Ortiz BITES Garcia’s ear! The ref reprimands, Ortiz wrenches and hooks Garcia up for a modified cobra twist! Garcia endures, Ortiz headlocks but Lee tags in as Garcia powers out. Garcia drops, Lee trips Ortiz and drags him out, then Garcia comes in around for a DRIVE-BY DROPKICK! Lee RAMS Ortiz into railing and DECKS him! Garcia gets a shot in, they put Ortiz in, and Lee digs his knees in at the ropes. Lee stops at the ref’s count to whip Ortiz hard into the corner! Tag to Parker, and 2point0 whip Ortiz to a corner as AEW goes picture in picture.

Lee whips Parker in to forearm smash Ortiz, then Parker feeds Ortiz to Lee’s drop toehold. Lee sets up to be the step stool, BOOYAH ELBOW! Parker stomps Ortiz, but Ortiz hits back with body shots, so Parker CLUBS him down. Tag to Garcia, they mug Ortiz, but Ortiz pushes Garcia. Garcia stomps Ortiz, drags him up to snapmare into a chinlock. Garcia grinds Ortiz down but Kingston just rushes in to attack! Another brawl breaks out, the ref has to restore order again, and this allows Garcia, Lee and Parker to get shots in on Ortiz! Garcia yells at Kingston but then tags out to Lee. Lee pushes Ortiz around, gets him up and hits a BACKBREAKER!

Lee taunts Kingston now but Ortiz CHOPS him back! Lee and Ortiz brawl, Parker tags in and they mug Ortiz. Parker brings Ortiz around to snap suplex! Cover, TWO! Parker keeps Ortiz at the ropes, he tags Garcia in, and Garcia stomps Ortiz. Fans rally up, Kingston claps along, but Garcia gives him and Santana sucker punches! The ref has to keep them back, but Ortiz fires off on Garcia! Ortiz whips, Garcia drops to drag Ortiz down and gets the HEEL HOOK! But again, Kingston gets in and he BITES Garcia on the forehead! Kingston throws down hands, the ref has him stop and go back to the corner, but Kingston just grows more rabid at the ropes.

AEW returns to single picture, Garcia waistlocks Ortiz. Ortiz throws elbows and then switches to O’Conner Roll! TWO, Ortiz dropkicks Garcia! Hot tags to Kingston and Lee! Kingston rallies on 2point0, SPLASHES Lee then SPLASHES Parker! Kingston gives Garcia MACHINE GUN CHOPS! Fans are fired up, Parker runs over but into an EXPLODER! Garcia flops out of the ring, Kingston tags Santana. Santana BOOTS Lee in the corner, then he calls to Ortiz. Santana CHOPS Lee, Garcia sweeps Kingston off the apron! Ortiz DECKS Garcia, gets in and pops Lee up for an atomic drop! Santana BLINDSLIDE LARIATS, then Ortiz DDT’s!

Ortiz sets up as a step stool again, Santana uses him for an assisted MOONSAULT, but onto knees! Roll up, with tights! Garcia & 2point0 win!!

Winners: Daniel Garcia & 2point0, by pinfall

Garcia stomps away on Santana, then so does Lee! They’re adding insult to injury after stealing the win. Garcia has the ring bell!? Garcia brings it into the ring, the ref tells him to stop! Kingston crawls into the ring, Garcia stomps him down! Garcia aims at Santana, BELL SMASH!! BUT HERE COMES JERICHO!! And he’s got Floyd the baseball bat! He SMACKS Parker, but Garcia and 2point0 get away before any more can happen! Will they regret ever crossing Le Champion?

As for Kingston, he looks at Jericho with some confusion. Kingston didn’t need Jericho’s help, but Jericho says he was here for PNP. Ortiz tries to keep the peace between Kingston and Jericho, can they all focus on their common enemies in Garcia and 2point0?

MJF speaks.

“Hey, it’s me, one of the biggest ratings draws in all of professional wrestling. Don’t believe me? Google it. And today, we’re going to talk about unsafe working conditions.” Last week, MJF was “thrown over the top rope with reckless abandonment by that untrained outlaw hack, Sting.” Who even trained that guy? No one knows, because he was never trained! The man is revered when he should be released. MJF is sure if he was working for a much more professional wrestling company, things like this wouldn’t happen. But that is a conversation to have as we get closer to the bidding war in 2024.

But CM Punk, you claim you want a piece of MJF and are a man of the people, yet the people want Punk VS MJF and Punk wanted no part of MJF in that match “like a gutless coward.” Well guess what? MJF is right here. Punk is yesterday’s news, a distraction from MJF’s ultimate goal, and that is him becoming AEW World Champion. But why stop there? War Dog, stop chasing the Powerbomb Symphony so you can start getting wins and qualify into the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match, where the winner gets a shot at the TNT Championship, which MJF knows he’ll win! But when Wardlow wins, he can then relinquish it to Wardlow. Say what now?

MJF had a feeling that’d be his reaction. Spears, go get Mark Sterling. The hell is this? Sterling brings up the contract MJF and Wardlow have, and Wardlow working with MJF and The Pinnacle, he is “work for hire,” and any merchandise, royalties, and even championships immediately belong to MJF. Always have a plan. Just like Sterling does for Jade Cargill. Cool. Now, Spears, Sterling, disappear. Got it. So MJF will rank up and become not just TNT Champion but AEW World Champion. Why? Because he is Maxwell Jacob Friedman, he is better than you, and you know it. Wardlow looks ready to kill, but will he kill opponents or his own boss?

Backstage interview with the Lucha Brothers.

But before Tony Schiavone can really talk with them, Jurassic Express barge in! Christian accuses “you dipshits of going into business for yourselves!” That cost them the match! Let’s stop delaying the inevitable. Next week, Jurassic Express VS Lucha Brothers, on Dynamite, for the AEW World Tag Team Championships! Penta answers in Spanish, Alex Abrahantes translates, saying that Christian is supposed to be a legend, yet he can’t even be a good tag partner. But y’know what? JB may be the future, maybe he should consider letting go of the past. Fenix adds that they accept the challenge! Because they have CERO! MIEDO! The title match is on, but who starts 2022 as champions?

Wardlow w/ Shawn Spears VS Colin Delaney!

After again being told what to do by Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Wardlow goes to the ring to take care of business! But will he do things his way? Or will he follow orders like the War Dog he is?

The bell rings and fans chant “WARD~LOW! WARD~LOW!” They tie up, Delaney waistlocks but Wardlow breaks free with a hard back elbow, then winds up for a LARIAT! Spears says that’s great stuff, and Wardlow drags Delaney up to reel him in. POWERBOMB! Delaney flounders and fans want it “One More Time! One More Time!” Spears says no but Wardlow says yes! ANOTHER POWERBOMB! Wardlow drags Delaney up again, Spears just give sup, POWERGOMB NUMBER THREE! But then a roll right into POEWRBOMB NUMBER FOUR! One foot cover, Wardlow wins!

Winner: Wardlow, by pinfall

Spears applauds, because clearly there’s no stopping Wardlow from doing what Wardlow wants! But then, what happens if and when Wardlow gets gold? Spears adds on with a CHAIRSHOT to Delaney on the ramp! The ref reprimands, Spears ushers Wardlow on, will Spears also be on Wardlow’s list of grievances?

The Super Kliq, and friends, speak.

“Brandon, are we live?” “Uh, I think so.” Good, because tonight will be historic! Adam Cole says the five of them together will go down as the greatest group not only in AEW but in all of pro-wrestling! Matt Jackson says, “Is that what this is? One big happy family?” Even though Kyle O’Reilly hasn’t even said hi to them since he got here! He’s barely made eye contact! Kyle somewhat sarcastically says hi to Matt and Nick. But he wants a minute to talk with Adam. Anything he wants to say to Adam, he can say to them. Cole tells the Bucks it’s fine, he’s got this. The Bucks accept that and leave, and then Kyle tells Bobby Fish he can go.

Once alone, Cole tries to speak first but Kyle has him stop. Kyle knows things are messed up, there was heat the last time they saw each other. But this is AEW. The key to surviving here, and for that matter, thriving here, is factions. Kyle, Cole and Fish, they are three dangerous individuals, the paragons of AEW. Now tonight against Best Friends, Kyle knows Fish has his back. He’ll find out if Cole does, too. Cole has Cutler cut, but will this reunited trio be anything but undisputed?

Dan Lambert & The Men of the Year are in the ring.

And worse yet, Lambert has the mic. “My MMA business is a full-time job. I just thought it’d be cool to come here as an old school fan. The problem is, there is absolutely nothing cool about Cody Rhodes and his entourage. Arn Anderson is one of my all time favorites, but I see him with Cody, and it just makes me sad. Because now he’s a guy trying to make a couple dollars sucking up to another guy who sucks up to THE guy.” Arn used to be a Horseman, now he’s just a whore. That’s the perfect segue to Brandi! And if that’s her real name, she’s the first Brandi that Dan’s known that wasn’t a stripper!

Ethan Page stops Dan right there to say, “That’s not currently a stripper. Because now, she’s a ‘wrestler.'” Dan says that is an excellent point, but they can’t keep coming back here with stripper jokes, or else they’re going to get very old and very tired very quickly. Just like Brandi these last couple years. That brings Lambert to Cody. He knows how hard Cody’s tried to make it to this business, “traveling the world, spilling blood, breaking bones, crashing through tables of fire.” Hell, Cody went so far as to tattoo “a Transformers logo” to his neck, “that even Mike Tyson thinks looks stupid!”

Cody never really made it, through, until he cut that deal with Tony Conman to become the pet project to skip the line over more deserving talent! AEW fans may be idiots, but even an idiot doesn’t like the taste of that shit sandwich AEW is shoving down their throats! But then Brandi Rhodes walks out to ask, “Who the hell told you tonight was open mic night, you bobble headed, ugly ass, less talented version of Paul Heyman?” Brandi goes right to the ring, and Lambert says he prefers Jim Cornett. But the sound of Brandi’s voice makes Lambert wish he was back in that street fight, getting his balls stapled by Chris Jericho!

Brandi says at least her family thinks that’s funny. But to ask a serious question, when’s the last time Lambert got beat up by a woman and didn’t have to pay for it? She’ll do him a solid by whoopin’ that ass for free. “Listen, Bambi. Sorry, I get my stripper names confused sometimes, Brandi.” But Lambert is a blackbelt in Brazilian jiujitsu, there is not a single soul watching that doesn’t want to slap the taste outta Brandi’s mouth right now. And if he’s the one who gets to, then let’s go! Oh so Lambert has a blackbelt? Well she’s a Black bitch, let’s go! The Men of the Year have to hold Lambert back on this one! And here comes Dustin Rhodes to stop Brandi!

But then Ethan sucker punches Dustin! The Men of the Year and Lambert bail, telling everyone to kiss their asses. Will the American Nightmare have something to say about this?

AEW takes a closer look at Winter is Coming, Hangman Page VS Bryan Danielson.

Tony Schiavone says, “When the match started, it was very apparent to me by the look on his face that Bryan Danielson did not respect Adam Page.” Adam Page himself says that he knew Bryan had the technical ability, the intellect and the stamina, but he didn’t know that when he hit Bryan as hard as he could in the head, Bryan would get back up. Excalibur says that as we saw in the first match, Champion’s Advantage means a draw keeps the title around the champion. But now, that advantage is thrown out the window with three judges at ringside to make the decision.

Jim Ross says the judges brings some intrigue to this. Who will they be? What are their points system? It is a recipe for chaos. Excalibur says there is no better way to kick off the TBS Era of AEW than with this world title match. Schiavone says there is a lot of prestige added. And Schiavone’s felt that ever since Bryan arrived, he would inevitably become AEW World Champion. Will it be on the first TBS show? That remains to be seen. Excalibur says this has all the potential of going another 60 minutes, and it could kick off the TBS Era with a NEW AEW World Champion. Who will be proven right when the Cowboy and the American Dragon run it back?

AEW TBS Championship Semifinal: Thunder Rosa VS Jade Cargill w/ Mark Sterling!

La Mera Mera and #ThatBitch have had it out for each other for a lot longer than just this title tournament! But now, in their biggest showdown yet, only one is going to meet Ruby Soho in the finals! Will Rosa bring the thunder to Jade’s storm? Or will the undefeated streak continue all the way to the title fight?

The bell rings and Rosa waits until Jade turns around to dropkick the legs out! Jade bails out, fans are thunderous for Rosa already as she runs, but Sterling blocks her path! Sterling has Jade catch her breath, but then Rosa CANNONBALLS to take out Sterling! Jade CLOBBERS Rosa from behind, then fires more forearms! Jade smacks Rosa off barriers, taunts the fans, but Rosa hits back with body shots! Rosa throws knees from all sides, RAMS Jade into the apron, then gets in to refresh the count. Rosa KICKS Cargill’s legs, but she fires back forearms! Jade CLUBS Rosa down, the ring count starts again, Jade gets the chicken wings but Rosa fights free to the apron!

Rosa leaps to CROSSBODY, but Jade catches her for a BACKBREAKER! Jade gets in the ring to refresh the count, then flexes. Jade dares Rosa to get up, then runs in, only for Rosa to dodge and dropkick the leg out! Rosa gets Jade’s leg to kick away on it! Sterling protests but the ref keeps counting. Rosa refreshes the count again, and then she drags Jade to railing. Rosa puts Jade’s leg on it and KICKS the leg! Jade falls over, Rosa KICKS her leg more! Rosa drags Jade up but Jade whips Rosa into railing again! Jade hobbles after Rosa, stomps her down, and gets back in the ring to refresh the count. Jade stalks Rosa, brings her around, but Rosa throws body shots!

Rosa whips but Jade reverses to POST Rosa! Jade puts Rosa in the ring and flexes on the apron. Fans rally and duel, Jade hobbles, but she pretends to dribble. Jade runs in but Rosa dodges the slam dunk! Rosa then SLAPS Jade, shoulders in, but Jade gets her with knee after knee! Rosa catches the leg to get it in the ropes! DRAPING DRAGON SCREW! Jade falls and Rosa fires up! Fans fire up, too, and Rosa goes up the corner. Jade hobbles, but Rosa slips a little. Rosa still elbows Jade, but Jade comes back with a BOOT! Jade is snarling as AEW goes picture in picture.

Rosa flounders to the ropes, Jade works out the bad leg and the two circle. Rosa feels it out, shoots in to get the bad leg, but Jade throws her off. They circle, Rosa goes for the leg again, but Jade throws her back off. Rosa avoids the boot to trip Jade and drop elbows on the knee! Rosa has a high stack but Jade kicks out before a count. Rosa goes for the leg again but Jade kicks her away. Jade hobbles up but Rosa shoots back in to get the legs! Jade blocks the takedown to a GUILLOTINE! Rosa endures as Jade keeps her off the ground! Then Jade shifts to a GOURD BUSTER! Jade clutches her knee but Rosa sputters on the mat.

Jade drags Rosa back up, swings, but Rosa dodges to KICK the leg! Rosa dodges to KICK again, then gets around to kick, only for Jade to block and throw her down! Jade drags Rosa up to CLUB her, but Rosa goes after the leg. Jade CLUBS Rosa again, tries to suplex, but Rosa blocks and fires back! Rosa focuses on the knee but Jade CLUBS her down again. Jade stomps with the good leg, brings Rosa back up, and manages to suplex! Jade still holds Rosa up for 10 and maybe even 15, before Rosa makes it a CROSSBODY! Cover as AEW returns to single picture, TWO! Rosa goes to a corner and fans fire up as she aims at Jade!

Rosa runs corner to corner, but she blocks Jade’s boot to put it in the ropes. Rosa kicks away on the bad leg, throws haymakers on it, but lets off as the ref counts. Rosa goes corner to corner again, to clothesline! Then she throws point-blank clotheslines! Jade sits down, Rosa goes corner to corner again, basement dropkick to the leg! Fans fire up as Rosa runs in again, another basement dropkick to the leg! Rosa has the leg, kicks away on the hamstring, then drags Jade for a high stack, TWO! Jade is still in this but Rosa keeps after the knee! More elbow drops, then Rosa steps through, only for Jade to kick her away. Things speed up, Jade manages to pop Rosa up for a SAMOAN DROP!

Jade kips up, adrenaline helping, but she’s still hobbling. Jade sees Rosa get to a corner and she storms over. Jade blocks a boot to KNEE Rosa, then brings her out to gut wrench. Jade has to worry about her leg at the same time, but she still matches the CANADIAN RACK BACKBREAKER! Jade can’t cover because of the leg, but she watches Rosa go to ropes. Jade drags Rosa up but Rosa lands on her feet! Jade waistlocks, Rosa switches, gets the leg, SHIN BREAKER! Rosa says this is it! She has the leg, steps through, FIGURE FOUR!! Sterling is freaking out as Jade endures! Jade drags herself over, Rosa puts as much as she can into the hold, but Jade gets back to the ROPEBREAK!

Sterling gets Jade a drink of water, but the ref has him back off! Rosa goes after Jade while Sterling and the ref argue. Rosa wants the figure four again but Jade BOOTS her into buckles! And then someone SMASHES Rosa in the head!! Who was that in the hoodie and jacket!? Jade gets Rosa’s arms, for the JADED!! Cover, Jade wins!

Winner: Jade Cargill, by pinfall (advances to the finals)

Was that sneak attack part of the plan Sterling alluded to earlier? Jade’s undefeated streak and title opportunity both still live because of that, but then Rosa hits a THESZ PRESS! The mystery person comes back to attack again! Rosa gets mugged by them both, and the mystery person reveals themselves to be MERCEDES MARTINEZ! Mean Ms. Mercedes is back in AEW, and she is helping Jade beat down Rosa! But here comes RUBY! The Runaway has a pipe, and she runs Jade and Mercedes off! The TBS debut will have the TBS Championship finals, will Ruby be the one to break Jade once and for all?

AEW takes a closer look at the coming Women’s World Championship match.

Britt Baker says, “Not only did Riho steal a win, she pissed me off.” Excalibur says Riho has Britt’s number. That has Britt shook to her core. Schiavone says Britt will use this anger to her advantage. Britt continues to say, “And all of you know, there is nothing more lethal than a pissed off DMD. This is my division.” Battle of the Belts gives us Britt VS Riho one more time! Will we see the DMD Era continue? Or will Riho become the first-ever TWO-TIME AEW Women’s World Champion in the New Year?

CM Punk is here!

And for the first time, Daily’s Place gets to sing Cult of Personality for the Best in the World! Punk gets the mic, fans are thunderously chanting his name, and then he speaks. “I’ve never been to Daily’s Place, I don’t even know what the set up is. Where’s Jim Ross?” Punk looks and finds him on commentary. Punk comes out here and immediately thinks how awesome it is to see JR back in the booth. Punk knows JR is the best to ever do it, glad to see him back to work. JR thanks Punk for that. Punk says he’s about giving people flowers when they deserve it. Then he thinks about Daily’s Place. He hasn’t been here before, but he knows it is a home for AEW.

So that gets Punk thinking about Brodie Lee. Fans chant “BRODIE! BRODIE!” If there’s anybody out there that says anything to try and minimize the impact that man has, that makes Punk feel sorry for them, because it means they never met him. Punk sat at home, saw that tribute show to his friend from here, and it made Punk want to come here. So then Punk got to thinking about someone not worth his time, someone who doesn’t want to be here. And speaking of internet trolls, Punk is talking about MJF. MJF is a Twitter troll in the flesh. He talks a big game, but when it comes down to it, he won’t say that to your face. He hides behind a keyboard, or in this case, FTR.

Punk saw it with his own eyes, as did the fans. Someone smart enough to say the people want to see Punk VS MJF, but is also stupid enough to say something that MJF is as good as Roddy Piper in Portland. Well, Piper would lace up his wrestling boots, while MJF clearly laced up his running shoes. Not sure if you heard, but MJF says he’s done with Punk. Honestly, Punk’s fine with that. He got to team with Sting and Darby Allin, and they beat FTR & MJF! Punk gets it if MJF is afraid, if he don’t want none, he doesn’t have to have none. But Punk is looking towards bigger and better. Punk knows MJF wants gold, he wants the AEW World Championship.

JR will attest to this, “If you don’t want to be the champion, you probably shouldn’t be here.” That’s true! Punk wants to be champion, too. There’s beginnings and endings, and being here in Daily’s Place, the place that’s been so good to AEW, and it’s also the last Dynamite on TNT, it’s moving to TBS, there is bigger and brighter things on the horizon. So MJF, you are a waste of Punk’s time, and a bigger waste of Khan money than Tim Tebow. The fans really liked that last part! Punk will leave us with this: He never wanted to mess with MJF, but MJF found out the hard way that on the mic, in the ring, and even on commentary, no one can touch Punk!

If MJF wants to climb the ladder and get to the gold, then sooner or later, they’ll see each other again in the ring. But it’d be a real shame if someone interfered with MJF’s quest for gold. When and where will the Best in the World face off with the Salt of the Earth on the road to the title?

Ricky Starks speaks.

“We’d like to send a welcome back to Jim Ross. Thank you, man, I’m glad that you’re back. Because now you have freed up Taz’s time, so he can devote that to making sure that Hook is a beast of a competitor. And in fact, you can hear Technique By Taz on Rampage. But more importantly, I want to talk to you, Dante.” Dante Martin screwed over Team Taz when he threw Starks out of the ring, and thereby screwed his chances of ever having a successful career. So if Ricky can’t win the ring, then Dante won’t win a damn thing, either. Dante’s stalled out, and Starks is a big fan of history. Last time Dante and Will Hobbs had at it, we all know how that went.

Hobbs will refresh Dante’s memory. Does Dante really want to go to a round two with Hobbs? Marinate on that. Will Angel Dorado run into the Powerhouse of Team Taz and be bulldozed on behalf of Absolute Ricky Starks?

Sammy Guevara is here!

He only just lost his AEW TNT Championship to Cody Rhodes on the Christmas edition of Rampage, but he has his cue cards for this picture in picture message. “Bobby Fish, Ethan Page, Jay Lethal, Tony Nese. Five matches as a champ, 4 successful defenses, 3 month title reign, 2 Cross Rhodes later, I lost my championship. That’s 1 memory I won’t forget! With New Year’s upon us, I have my resolution. BEAT THE AMERICAN NIGHTMARE! WIN BACK MY TITLE! And once again BE THE TNT CHAMPION!” Will the Spanish God rise up and reclaim the gold in 2022?

Hikaru Shida speaks.

“Serena Deeb. ‘Professor.’ I’m going to teach you a lesson today.” Serena Deeb asked for it when she pulled down the turnbuckle’s pad. It was all her fault, and yet she says Shida cheated? Don’t whine! Just ask for the rematch. And Shida’s answer: “Bring it! I’ll beat you down again!”

Schiavone is in the ring with Brian Pillman Jr!

Schiavone wants BPJ’s reaction to these last couple of weeks in regards to the actions of Malakai Black. BPJ says what happened was that in Greensboro, North Carolina, BPJ’s tag partner and brother, Griff Garrison, “walked right into the House of Black.” Admittedly, BPJ can’t remember that night. But what he can’t get out of his head is the sound of the bell ringing over and over again while Malakai tried to end Griff’s career! So what did BPJ do? He stormed in to protect his brother. But as he got up, that’s where things are a bit fuzzy, and his memory goes completely black. Next thing BPJ knows, he’s right down on the ground next to the person he was trying to protect.

So congratulations to Malakai on the cheap shot! It wasn’t the first and it won’t be the last. As a second generation wrestler, BPJ has busted his ass day in and day out since day one, right here in Jacksonville, Florida! BPJ calls out Malakai, and says it is his turn to take a trip. BPJ won’t kick down the door, that’s what Malakai wants. BPJ never knew his father, what kind of man he really was, but what he learned from Brian Pillman Senior’s life is that you only get one! BPJ isn’t giving Malakai his! Next week, we see a brand new Brian Pillman Junior! But then the lights go out! And on stage, appears MALAKAI! Malakai takes off the hood and mask, and points to BPJ!

The lights then go out again, and Malakai disappears. BPJ is seething, but will being bulletproof be enough to survive the House of Black?

BREAKING NEWS for Rampage New Year’s Smash!

After being called out by the Men of the Year and Dan Lambert, as well as assaulting brother Dustin, Cody Rhodes is stepping up! Cody puts his TNT Championship on the line against Ethan Page! Will All Ego take that title right off the American Nightmare to close out the year? Plus, Darby Allin takes on Anthony Bowens 1v1 in a big singles showdown!

The Acclaimed speak.

Max Caster says, “Ain’t it funny how in AEW, to be in the main event, you gotta wrestle the main event tag team, huh?” The main event ain’t even ranked! The Acclaimed is a well oiled machine! Caster even helps Bowens oil up. Bowens tells Darby that this Friday, they get in the ring so Bowens can beat that “My Chemical Romance looking ass all over Jacksonville to ring in the New Year!” Because EVERYONE loves The Acclaimed! And that’s a mic drop!

Sting & Darby respond!

Sting marvels at how many people can talk about main event matches so casually. When Sting started, every match he was in was treated like the main event. Just food for thought. Darby says many have tried to stop them, but all they’ve done is try. Darby could be the first match or the last match on the card, but he has no ego. It doesn’t matter. So Bowens, Rampage New Year’s Smash, “I’m ready.”

But wait! There’s more!

As Ricky Starks mentioned, there will be a Technique By Taz all about Hook for Rampage! And then, to finally settle things before the year is over, Penelope Ford & The Bunny take on #TayJay, Tay Conti & Anna Jay, in a TAG TEAM STREET FIGHT!

AEW hears from the four women in that Tag Team Street Fight.

Anna Jay says, “Tay and I have both beaten Penelope Ford & The Bunny fair and square.” Tay adds, “A bunch of times.” But those two have also cheated. So now they can just have a Street Fight where there are no rules. The Bunny is sure Conti thinks she’s so tough with the blackbelts and the kicks, but this isn’t karate, kids. And in the end, the good guys won’t win. Ford says, “We’re the most psychotic bitches in town. And who knows what toys we’ll bring this Friday night on Rampage.”

Six Man Tag: Orange Cassidy & Best Friends VS Adam Cole, Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly!

Freshly Squeezed, the Kentucky Gentleman and #JustTrent have all had their problems with the Panama City Playboy, the Infamous One and the Violent Artist, some of this going all the way back to their days in ROH! But now that they’re all #AllElite, will Cole, Fish & O’Reilly still be undisputed? Or will there be some doubt left in their minds after taking on literal Best Friends?

The trios sort out, Kyle starts against Chuck Taylor. They circle, feel it out, and Kyle KICKS Chuck’s leg. Chuck gets a headlock, Kyle powers out but Chuck runs Kyle over. Things speed up and Kyle hits a kitchen sink knee! Chuck gets away to the corner while fans chant, “Undisputed! Undisputed!” Trent tags in, he and Kyle circle. Kyle KICKS, Trent blocks but Kyle SLAPS free! Trent fires a forearm, Kyle gives it back, and they go back and forth. Kyle KICKS the leg, Trent CHOPS, but Kyle KIKCS. Trent CHOPS, Kyle KICKS, but then Kyle blocks the chop to fire off knees. Kyle runs, into a ROLLING ELBOW! Trent runs, into a JUMP KNEE!

Kyle goes for the ax but Trent dodges to CHOP! Double BOOTS hit, but they both stay up, only for double BOOTS to hit again! They both fall, but Kyle’s right back up! Trent gets up, the two stand off, and they decide to tag out to Fish and Cassidy. Cassidy throws his sunglasses at Fish! Then he bobs ‘n’ weaves with Fish, to “fire off” the shin kicks! Fish kicks but Cassidy ducks to roll him up! TWO, Fish kicks and ROCKS Cassidy with strikes from all sides! Fish snapmares Cassidy near ropes, then goes out and slingshots in, only for Cassidy to avoid the senton! Cassidy raises his hands, but Fish rushes out after him! Cassidy slides in, then puts his hands in his pockets!

But Kyle distracts the ref so Cole can CLOBBER Cassidy! Fish hits the slingshot senton! Tag to Cole, Cole whips Cassidy to a corner, but Cassidy goes up and out and slingshots in to get around and shove Cole into the corner! Tag to Trent, he fires forearms, then tags Chuck. Best Friends double whip corner to corner, then they wave Cassidy on. Cassidy winds up and goes as fast as a sloth can, Chuck forearm smashes first! Trent clotheslines, Cassidy arrives to feed Cole to double shoulders! The Best Friends shake hands to double elbow drop! But reDRagon gets in to attack Best Friends! They whip, Best Friends CLOBBER each of them!

Kyle is sent out, then Fish. Best Friends bring it in, but Cole & reDRagon ruin the group hug! Kyle BOOTS Cassidy down, Cole bumps Chuck off buckles. Chuck reverses the whip but Cole sends him out. Chuck DECKS Fish, ROCKS Cole, but Kyle gets the leg for a DRAPING DRAGON SCREW! Fish sweeps the legs! Chuck crashes down and Cole soaks up the heat. Cole takes his time going to Chuck as AEW goes picture in picture.

Cole drags Chuck up, POSTS him, then drags Chuck up and into the ring. Cole drags Chuck up to turn and NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Tag to Kyle, he stomps Chuck, then drags Chuck up to wrench the arm. ELBOW BREAKER, another wrench, and Kyle wrangles Chuck down to a hammerlock. Kyle KNEES and CLUBS the arm, then KNEES and CLUBS the other side. Kyle runs to SLIDING KNEE! Then he fish hooks Chuck’s nose! The ref reprimands, Kyle tags Fish, reDRagon mugs Chuck. Fish wrenches and uppercuts Chuck’s arm, then wrenches it again to CLUB it. Fish puts Chuck in the corner, stomps him and digs in a boot.

The ref counts, Fish distracts the ref so Cole and Kyle can get shots in! Cole and Kyle let off before the ref sees it, and Fish digs his knee in. The ref counts that, Fish lets off at 4 to tag Cole. Cole drags Chuck up to snap suplex! Cover, TWO! Cole keeps on Chuck with a chinlock but Chuck endures. Chuck fights up, throws body shots, but Cole CLUBS him then throws him out. The ref keeps his eyes on reDRagon as AEW returns to single picture. Cole says the ref should be wary of Cassidy, and that gives Kyle the opening! Kyle whips Chuck but Chuck reverses and Kyle crashes into railing! Chuck CLOBBERS Fish, but runs into Cole’s fireman’s carry! USHIGOROSHI! Cover, TWO!

Fans rally up, Cole stalks Chuck, but he SUPERKICKS Cassidy down! Trent glares at Cole but Cole tags to Kyle. Cole rushes Chuck but he gets thrown out! Chuck BOOTS Kyle, hot tag to Trent! Trent DECKS Kyle, Cole trips Trent, but Trent DECKS Cole! Trent avoids Kyle’s plancha to then CLOBBER Fish! Fish swings into a HALF ‘N’ HALF SUPLEX! Kyle runs in, leaps, GUILLOTINE! But Trent BACK DROPS free! Fans fire up as Trent runs in at Kyle in the corner, BIG back elbow! And then TORANDO DDT! Cover, TWO! Kyle survives but Trent keeps cool. Trent gets Kyle up but Kyle slips under to KICK a leg, and he trips Trent to get the leg.

DIVE and Fish is sent into the wall! Cole kicks Cassidy, suplexes, STUN-DOG MILLIONAIRE! Cassidy runs, Kyle rushes in, tilt-o-whirl but no DDT!

But Chuck BOOTS Fish down! Chuck stalks Cole, but Cole SUPERKICKS!

Cole has the higher ground, and he takes aim, PANAMA SUN- NO! Back drop to the ramp! Chuck targets reDRagon on the outside, and he runs the narrow walkway to CANNONBALL! Fish & Kyle go down and fans are loving all of this! Trent sees Cole, and he SPEARS him right down on the ramp! Trent throws Cole back in for Cassidy to FLYING DDT!! Cover, TWO!! Cole survives but Chuck gets back in! Chuck hits the AWFUL WAFFLE, then feeds to Trent’s PILEDRIVER! Cassidy tops it off, Alabama lift to BEACH BREAK!! Cover, reDRagon breaks it!! Fans are loving “A E DUB! A E DUB!” and this farewell to TNT!

Kyle drags Cole over to their corner, and he tags in! Kyle snarls and drags Cassidy up for Kowata Kicks! Cassidy blocks one and he looks MAD! Cassidy can get mad?! Cassidy swings but Kyle knees low! Fans fire up as the Best Friends HUG! GOT to give the people what they want!

Wait, Brandon Cutler runs out, spraying the spray all over the place? The hell is he up to? Cutler gets in, Best Friends DECK him, but that’s a distraction so the Buck scan get in to DOUBL ESUPERKICK! Kyle and Fish give Chuck CHASING THE DRAGON!! Cover, CFO wins!

Winners: Adam Cole, Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly, by pinfall

It seems the Bucks were willing to work with reDRagon because of their mutual friend in Adam Cole! The ref raises reDRagon’s hands, but the Bucks act like reDRagon neglected Cole? Then maybe there isn’t cohesion between all of Cole’s comrades?

My Thoughts:

A great Dynamite to close out the TNT Era and go into the TBS Era. Well, apparently Rampage stays on TNT, since it’s just an hour on Fridays, but we’re apparently going to be getting plenty of “Saturday Night Fights” specials from now on. But speaking of which, what is even the point of Battle of the Belts now that we’re getting so much on the TBS premiere? The AEW World Championship got a great hype vignette for Hangman VS Danielson II, and given how big it is, putting it on the TBS premiere does make sense since that episode needs to be big. And same goes for the TBS Championship match, because duh, it’s the TBS Championship.

But why are we putting the AEW World Tag Team Championships on the TBS premiere? It’s great that we’re getting that match but I thought we were getting it for Battle of the Belts. Is Battle of the Belts only an hour? That’s a bit of a shame, that just makes it like a themed Rampage. At least it’s getting the AEW Women’s World Championship, which also got a good hype vignette. But at the same time, Britt VS Riho seems easy to call: Britt retains. I feel like the same goes for the tag title match. The Lucha Brothers are just that good of a tag team. And they’ve got plenty of teams they can take on in the TBS Era to really excite the fans.

The TBS Championship semifinal match tonight was great stuff, especially with the story of Rosa going after the legs. And they even had a good way of protecting Rosa while still keeping Jade going with Mercedes attacking Rosa. Mercedes has gone back and forth between AEW and WWE, and with WWE having thrown her away again, I’m thinking Mercedes is going to stay in AEW and be part of Sterling’s “client list.” Jade VS Ruby is going to be awesome, but I’m thinking Jade wins to live up to #ThatBitchShow. And Rampage giving us the Tag Team Street Fight blow off for Ford & Bunny VS TayJay is going to be great stuff, too, and I hope the Faces win there.

The Six Man Tag of Kingston, Santana & Ortiz VS Garcia & 2point0 was great stuff, especially with Kingston so obsessed with getting after Garcia. I should’ve figured Garcia & 2point0 would cheat to win, but I also figured it’d bring Jericho out after them. I’m pretty sure this now means Kingston and Jericho will have to work together to settle things with Garcia & 2point0, and somehow they do to come out on top. Then after that, we need Proud ‘n’ Powerful feuding with Lucha Brothers, mostly because Santana & Ortiz need that feud. Sammy had a good cue card promo, but I’m not sure if he’ll get that TNT title off Cody.

Speaking of, Cody VS Ethan for this week’s Rampage is great news. To think it would be Brandi Rhodes who made a Dan Lambert segment great stuff. Her line about blackbelt VS Black bitch was awesome! And while I’m pretty sure Cody retains, I now want Rhodes Brothers VS Men of the Year. That could end up with Cody wanting the tag titles, and adding more heat to his Face Not Face story. Cody could be one title away from the Triple Crown, and then in the ultimate Heel move, he undoes the world title embargo he put on himself early on and tries to take the title from Hangman or whoever.

And then speaking of the world title, great stuff from MJF and CM Punk. I hope both of these guys start having regularly scheduled matches on Dynamite, that’ll help with the transition to TBS. AEW Revolution is going to be later in the year than before, so that gives both guys plenty of time to build up and then end up the #1 and #2 contenders, who will then have to face each other to determine THE #1 contender to the title. MJF also slipped in the news of the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match 2, and I actually do hope Wardlow wins, then wins the TNT title, so he can smack MJF with it and effectively quit The Pinnacle.

Then last but not least, we got awesome stuff out of the building Adam Cole story. Great promo to loosely reference Cole VS Kyle in NXT while also resetting their kayfabe for AEW, and then we got a great main event Six Man Tag. Maybe even PPV tier, since this was the last Dynamite on TNT. The Bucks helping reDRagon win but then acting like reDRagon were in the wrong was a great bit of mind games from the Bucks, and I have a feeling that the Bucks’ attempts at keeping Cole with them will backfire so that Cole sides with reDRagon. Then Kenny Omega comes back, he’s upset with Cole, we get our ultimate Six Man of The Elite VS Undisputed Era at like Double or Nothing 2022.

My Score: 9.1/10

Will Ospreay VS Katsuyori Shibata!

The Aerial Assassin wants to slay the American Dragon and prove himself the best wrestler alive today! But that means keeping pace with Bryan Danielson while doing things he’s never done before. Ospreay admitted he got “the piss” beat out of him seven years ago, but will he have redemption here tonight? Or is Ospreay still not better than The Wrestler?

The bell rings and the fans fire up already as these two circle. The fans sing “Ospreay~, Ospreay Ospreay Ospreay~! Ospreay~, Ospreay~!” while Ospreay and Shibata feel things out. Shibata avoids Ospreay’s takedown to then waistlock and bring Ospreay around. Ospreay moves, blocks the chinlock, but Shibata just slips around to another waistlock. Shibata gets a top mount and he eggs Ospreay on. They grapple, Shibata finds his way through to go for an arm, ARMBAR! Ospreay gets a ROPEBREAK and Shibata lets off quickly. The fans applaud this opening exchange and start to duel as the two reset.

The two feel things out to a knuckle lock, but then Ospreay kicks low and CLUBS Shibata. Ospreay then snapmares, puts on a chinlock, and he grinds Shibata down. Shibata endures, uses his own leg as a lever and pries the chinlock open. Shibata wrenches to wristlock, but Ospreay spins and breaks to trip Shibata with an ankle pick. Osprey has the toehold but Shibata turns over, uses his leg to reel Ospreay in for a headlock, and then hits the takeover! The fans cheer but Ospreay headscissors. Shibata moves around, pops free, and then stands to kick! Ospreay narrowly avoids it and the fans fire up again!

Ospreay takes a breath and the two reset again. They tie up collar ‘n’ elbow, but Shibata powers Ospreay back to ropes. The ref counts, Ospreay turns things around, but then Ospreay lets off slowly. But then Ospreay CHOPS! Shibata just gets in Ospreay’s face! Shibata knees low, bumps Ospreay off buckles, and he fires off forearms! The fans fire up, Shibata runs corner to corner, but Ospreay SHOTGUNS! The fans fire up and Shibata scrambles to a corner, Ospreay fires forearms on Shibata now, sits Shibata down with them, then fires up to go corner to corner, HYDRAULIC DROPKICK! Ospreay uses Shibata’s won move!

The fans fire up while Shibata bails out, and Ospreay PLANCHAS! Direct hit and down goes Shibata! The fans fire up again, the ring count starts, and Ospreay says, “Yes, bruv!” Ospreay brings Shibata up, CLUBS him and puts him in the ring. But Shibata gets moving, and he BOOTS Ospreay right down! Shibata goes out to fetch Ospreay but Ospreay fires forearms! Shibata just eggs Ospreay on! Ospreay fires more forearms but Shibata backs him down by just stepping forward! Shibata then UPPERCUTS Ospreay, and suplexes Ospreay to the floor! Then he KICKS Ospreay in the back! Ospreay writhes but Shibata leaves him behind.

The fans are torn as Shibata sits cross-legged in the ring while the count climbs. Shibata decides to go back out after Ospreay and put him in the ring. The fans rally and duel, Shibata stomps Ospreay around, then gets the legs to stomp. Shibata steps right through to the FIGURE FOUR! Ospreay blocks the main leg but Shibata powers through! Ospreay sits Shibata up and they start throwing forearms! The leglock is let go so Shibata can CLUB Ospreay! Ospreay CHOPS! And CHOPS! And CHOPS! Shibata fires a forearm, shoots around, SAIDO! Ospreay writhes again and the fans rally up as Dynamite goes picture in picture!

Shibata dusts himself off, drags Ospreay to center, and again steps through, only for Ospreay to again block the main leg! Shibata powers through to have the FIGURE FOUR! Ospreay endures, reaches out, but Shibata puts the pressure on! Ospreay falls back, but that makes this a cover, TWO and Ospreay sits back up! Ospreay works to turn things over but Shibata works to stop him! Ospreay tires again, and again, and he turns the hold over! Now Shibata endures! Shibata turns things right back over, but Ospreay has the ROPEBREAK! Shibata lets the hold go so he can shake out his own legs.

Shibata drops a knee on Ospreay’s knee! Ospreay goes to a corner, Shibata CHOPS! And CHOPS! Ospreay falls to his knees, so Shibata CLUBS him! Ospreay glares at Shibata so Shibata CHOPS and ROCKS him! Ospreay hobbles away, comes back, and he fires a forearm! Shibata eggs him on so Ospreay fires more forearms. Shibata ROCKS Ospreay with one! Ospreay goes to a corner and falls over. Shibata brings Ospreay up, whips him to KNEE him low, then CLUB him down, and KICK him in the back! Shibata KICKS Ospreay again, gives him some scuffing kicks, but now Ospreay sits cross-legged to egg Shibata on!

Shibata kicks, and KICKS, and Ospreay falls over! But then Ospreay gets up in a rage! Ospreay fires forearms, Shibata gives them back, and Ospreay fires a streak of ’em! Shibata ROCKS Ospreay, whips, and Dynamite returns to single picture as Ospreay handsprings and NEURALIZERS! The fans fire up while Ospreay gets up to TOSS Shibata out! Then Ospreay PLANCHAS but Shibata moves! Shibata kicks low, whips Ospreay into the LED barrier, then runs up to BOOT him! The fans fire up as the action comes to them, then Shibata brings Ospreay around. Shibata whips Ospreay back at the LED, but Ospreay leaps up and over!

Shibata runs up but Ospreay ROCKS him back! Ospreay uses the barrier to FLYING FOREARM Shibata down! Ospreay puts Shibata in, aims from the apron, and springboard for PIP PIP CHEERIO! Cover, TWO! Shibata stays in this but he’s dazed. Ospreay brings Shibata up, the fans sing again, but Shibata fights the underhooks. Ospreay fires Kawada Kicks, but Shibata stands. Ospreay CHOPS, but Shibata just gets in Ospreay’s face! Ospreay fires forearms but Shibata again backs Ospreay down by just stepping forward! Ospreay fires forearms again and again, but Shibata DECKS him! Ospreay sits up in a daze, so Shibata whips him and BOOTS him in a corner!

Shibata fires a flurry of forearms, then runs, but Ospreay follows to CHOP! But Shibata fires forearms and an UPPERCUT! Shibata runs, Ospreay follows again, BOOT! But Shibata just comes back with more forearms! Ospreay eggs Shibata on so Shibata CHOPS, JABS and repeat! Then CHOP, CHOP and CHOP! Shibata runs corner to corner to HYDRAULIC DROPKICK! The Wrestler shows Ospreay how that move’s done, and then he hauls Ospreay up. HALF HATCH! Cover, TWO! Ospreay shakes his head, he’s tougher than that! Shibata keeps his cool, he brings Ospreay up, and the fans rally again.

Shibata clamps on but Ospreay fights the cobra twist! Ospreay switches the twist onto Shibata! Shibata endures, switches it right back, but Ospreay fights his way around! Winner: Will Ospreay, by pinfall

An instant classic to say the least, these two showed how elite Strong Style can be! But in the end, the Aerial Assassin avenges his defeat seven years ago! Ospreay shows Shibata respect with the deep bow, and Shibata returns it. Ospreay certainly looks ready for Bryan Danielson, but will he be able to slay The American Dragon and establish his Dynasty?

AEW takes a closer look at Bryan Danielson.

Excalibur narrates that you can ask any professional wrestler who is the greatest technician of this or any generation, and one name is on the list: Bryan Danielson. This unassuming kid from Aberdeen, Washington who traveled the world to become an all-time wrestling icon began his journey under the tutelage of Shawn Michaels, and The American Dragon was born. He made his name in the independent circuit before landing in ROH, where for nearly a decade, Bryan laid the promotion’s groundwork as a Founding Father of Honor. Bryan would main event from the very first event to winning multiple world championships.

Bryan would also go global with NJPW, and eventually WWE. But at the height of his career, having become one of the most decorated champions in pro-wrestling history, Bryan had what he loved above all else ripped away. Years of sacrifice for the sport that is his life left Bryan medically unable to compete. Yet, through unflinching determination to regain his ultimate passion, Bryan would fight the steepest of odds and make his in-ring return after three years away. And then in 2021, he shocked the world when he made his AEW debut, showing again why he is an all-time great, and testing the limits of his body against the best pro-wrestlers in the world today.

Bryan himself said he “will not go gently into that good night.” If this is his last year, he is calling his shots! This will be the most epic year of his career. And that means checking off the dream match of American Dragon VS Aerial Assassin! Who will prove they are THE best in the world today?

Backstage interview with The Young Bucks.

Renee Paquette is with the AEW EVPs, Matthew & Nicholas Jackson. Tonight, they are in action in the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament against a team that defeated them in the inaugural- Nick gets mad already and claims this is some kind of ambush! Such negativity! Unprofessional, Renee! Is this how she conducts all her other interviews? Where is Alex Marvez? Nick would rather Marvez conduct this interview, he’s also better looking. Matt calms Nick down and says they’ll circle back to that question. What they do want to talk about is that they returned to AEW a couple months ago, with some goals and objectives.

The first one being, well, retiring “Sting’s old ass.” Did that! Second goal: Restructuring The Elite. And how’d they do that? Well, they made some room and brought in The Rainmaker, Kazuchika Okada! By the way, did you see Okada’s big Continental Championship win last week? Holy crap that was awesome! And all on his own. Big surprise to everyone backstage, but of course Okada did that fair and square! Just like The Bucks will win tonight! They asked Rainmaker, come, chill out in the back, they’ve got this. But to the question, the biggest goal, the most important one out of everything, is to get their AEW World Tag Team Championships back.

And Renee mentioned the upset last time that ruined Matt’s entire life for an entire year. What do you do to right that wrong? You beat them back! You beat Private Party! See, lightning never strikes twice! And The Bucks will be one step closer to getting their titles back. Let’s have a great show, Renee’s doing awesome, fist bump. But one note: Maybe try smiling more. That’s all. Matt heads out and Nick still prefers Marvez. But will The Bucks really make up for the past? Or will history simply repeat itself?

Kazuchika Okada arrives in style!

Still driving the red Ferrari, the NEW Continental Champion is here to watch his pals in action.

BREAKING NEWS for Collision!

For starters, it’s back! Live this Saturday, 8 PM Eastern, and with the other AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarterfinals! The Infantry overcame The House of Black with help from Mark Briscoe, but now they’re looking to say yeah to beating FTR! Will Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo be marching into the semifinals? Or will Dax & Cash prove they’re still Top Guys? And in their big return to action (no pun intended), Ricky Starks & “Big Bill” Morrissey take on Top Flight’s Dante & Darius Martin! Will this tournament soon be Absolute? Or will Angel Dorado & Air Wolf book themselves a flight to the semifinals?

Don Callis speaks.

“Tonight, Swerve’s House comes tumbling down. A tornado known as The Alpha, Konosuke Takeshita, is coming. Swerve, our résumé is very clear: We beat Kenny Omega not once but twice; we destroyed Chris Jericho; we destroyed Darby Allin. You wanna bring Prince Nana and the little back-up dance, you go right ahead. You are standing between us and what we want. I am so sick of hearing about Swerve’s House, this little fantasy you’ve constructed for yourself, because you see, your house is on my street. Your house is in the Don Callis Family’s neighborhood. And all those houses are mine. I take what I want, and then I take a little more.

“And tonight, Takeshita is gonna take everything from you, including your opportunity to become the #1 contender. Tonight, the Alpha burns it all down.” Callis has promised big things, but will Takeshita live up to these great expectations?

Mercedes Mone arrives backstage!

The CEO arrives in style, struts her way to gorilla, and is going to join commentary for this star-studded #1 contender’s match in the women’s division!

AEW hears from Darby Allin.

He’s hanging out with THE Tony Hawk pro-skater, and notes that originally, he was hoping to climb Mount Everest right about now for Tony’s charity, The Skatepark Project, but uh… broke his foot. So does Tony wanna tell us about the project? Of course. This is a foundation to bring public skate parks to underserved areas, operating for over 20 years now. They’ve funded the creation of almost NINE HUNDRED skate parks in that time, and it is important to Tony because it was never lost on him how lucky he was to have a skatepark to go to as a kid. It was his place of belonging and community, where he cut his teeth, and he wants to give that same access to skater kids all over the world.

Darby adds that he wouldn’t be here without skateboarding, so this cause means the world to him. If you wanna donate, just go to Skatepark.org to help out. Darby can’t climb a mountain, but this is Plan B. Darby lets his foot be part of Tony’s handstand grab in the halfpipe! We wish Darby a speedy recovery, and we hope the Skatepark Project has even greater success.

Backstage interview with Hook and Chris Jericho.

Renee is with the FTW Champion and The Ocho, and first congratulates Hook on that big win over Jericho last week. Renee brings up Jericho having a proposition for Hook, so what is up? Jericho says what’s up is that a few weeks ago, he said he wanted to see what it was like to face Hook 1v1, to see if Hook is as good as the people say. And after having that match, Hook exceeded expectations. Right out of the gate, he suplexed Jericho right on his head and he didn’t let off. Hook got his first pinfall win, and off Jericho, and Jericho is okay with that. Jericho is proud of Hook, because he saw some things he never had before.

Jericho’s never had a wrestling school, never managed anyone, but he’s also never been in the ring with someone like Hook. Hook’s skills are so highly tuned yet still raw. So Jericho wants to say that after 33 years in the business, if Hook wants any advice from Jericho, Jericho will gladly help sharpen Hook’s skills so he can be the world champion Jericho knows Hook can be. So like he said, if Hook wants his advice, Jericho is here for him. Hook appreciates the praise, and of course he’ll take that advice. He’s Chris Jericho. But being Chris Jericho, Hook knows who Jericho is. Okay, that’s fair. And Jericho knows who Hook is, and more importantly, who Hook can be.

Jericho offers a fist bump, Hook accepts, and Hook says, “Let’s get it.” Jericho says yeah, let’s get it, and he also fist bumps Renee. With The Wizard now his mentor, is it only a matter of time before the Cold Hearted Handsome Devil goes for the top prize in AEW?

Backstage interview with Dustin Rhodes.

Renee is with The Natural, and says he is currently 3-1 in 2024. Every time he steps back inside the ring, he reminds us all just how much of a badass he is. What is next for Dustin? He does feel he’s started 2024 with a bang. “Everybody on this roster is very, very talented. Every single match I’ve had here in five years has been really, really good. Bangers, all of ’em. Nothing’s different. Surprisingly, right now, at 55 years old, I’m still as passionate as I have ever been.” But then in steps The Butcher, belittling what Dustin is saying. Well what does Butcher want? He heard Dustin wants a fight. Oof, Butcher, your breath…

Butcher says it’s his mustache, it has its own musk. But look him in the eyes. Dustin wants a match? Remember that Bunkhouse Match? Oh yeah he does. Then how about Friday on Rampage, Dustin and Butcher cash some receipts? Oh, Butcher wants receipts? He thinks Dustin’s just some stepping stone? Oh absolutely. Well, if you want it, then you got it. Friday Night Rampage it is! But just remember this: You’re gonna find out why Dustin is The Natural Born Legend. Everyone loves Dustin, even Canada. Butcher can’t wait. This is gonna be quite the shootout, but will it be a good Friday for the living legend?

“Timeless” Toni Storm visited Turner Classic Movies!

Ben Mankiewicz introduces himself and then congratulates Toni Storm for not only being AEW Women’s World Champion, but also for “helping redefine the artistry of professional wrestling.” Toni says that’s so sweet. And she congratulates Ben on… whatever it is he does around TCM. One small note, though: crispen your annunciation. No one says “crispen” in America really, but sure, he’ll work on it. Now repeat after her. Chin up. Chin up. Tits out. Uh, no, he won’t say that. And watch for the shoe~! What? She tosses her shoe over her shoulder as she leaves, and now he understands. But will AEW’s leading lady continue to be a modern classic even through Dynasty?

Swerve Strickland speaks.

“Tonight comes down to Swerve and Takeshita, to be ranked number one. Now we all know, to be truly number one in the pro-wrestling industry, you gotta hold the AEW World Championship gold. And that is Samoa Joe. Takeshita, you’ve been probably one of the best competitors I’ve ever seen over the last couple months. You’ve been doing your thing. But our motivation’s been vastly different. Mine is for something bigger than me, and that’s history. I’m not taking this lightly. So Takeshita, after I get past you, it’s me and Samoa Joe, one on one, no distractions.”

Swerve then tells Joe, “I didn’t forget what you did to me. And when I finally get you one on one for that championship, you’ll never forget what I do to you.” Swerve’s House is ready, but will this soon be Swerve’s Dynasty?

Winners: Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta (advance to the semifinals)

Turns out, two can play at the numbers game! Or is it six? Whatever! Best Friends are facing Young Bucks, making the semifinals that much bigger for both teams! Oh wait, Best Friends HUG, only for the Bucks to interrupt! Matthew & Nicholas are making sure everyone remembers the EVPs still have the power. But apparently not the power to make the Codyvator- er, EVP Lift, go any faster. Will Cassidy & Trent make the inaugural Dynasty PPV Freshly Squeezed? Or will the Bucks prove blood is thicker than Orange Punch?

Backstage interview with Kyle O’Reilly.

Renee is now with #CombatKyle and congratulates him on his big return win a couple weeks ago on Collision. How did it feel to finally be back in that ring? Kyle says you can prepare yourself mentally and physically, but there’s no way to get ready for what it’s actually like to get in that ring in front of a live crowd and pull it off. It felt good to rip the Band-aid off, it really did. But it is a deep, deep roster here in AEW, and there is no such thing as an easy match. True, so let’s talk Undisputed Kingdom. They came out there to celebrate with him, is he having any second thoughts on doing this alone?

Kyle says he loves those guys, but no, no regrets. He did it on his own in his return, he’ll do it on his own this week. Collision in London, Ontario, Kyle proves he belongs. Kyle is ready to chase the dragon, but will he be able to keep this going all on his own?

Adam “Edge” Copeland speaks.

The Rated R Superstar was backstage after Dynamite last week, and he said, “When you decide to dedicate your life to this, you dream of nights like this. Your hometown, against a man that you’ve known for 40 years, to hear that audience, to hear them sing my music to me. It’s one of those nights that I’ll take with me to the grave.” Edge is sore, bloody, but he got the TNT Championship. This feels like the first time he’s properly won a title since 2011. “Tonight, it felt like that chapter closed. That 40 year story is closed. It’s time to move on. It’s time for me to defend this TNT Championship. Collision, London, the Cope Open’s back.

“To anybody who wants to step up, feel free. There’s more at stake now, too, and I don’t plan on losing it any time soon.” Collision is about to get Rated R in its return, who looks to go toe to toe with the NEW Face of TNT?

MORE breaking news for Collision!

On top of the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament, on top of The Cope Open, there will be a BIG Six Man Tag! Lance Archer & The Righteous tried to tear down the Swiss Superman, but now he’s got back-up! Bryan Danielson & Katsuyori Shibata are teaming with Claudio Castagnoli to take the fight to Vincent, Dutch & the Murderhawk Monster! Will this Collision prove #EverybodyDies? Or will The Wrestler make a great fit alongside the Blackpool Combat Club?

AEW World Championship #1 Contender’s Match: Swerve Strickland w/ Prince Nana VS Konosuke Takeshita w/ Don Callis!

We have heard from The Realest, and we heard from the head of the Don Callis Family. The time for talk is over, only actions can prove your worth! There can be only one, so who will be THE ONE that faces Samoa Joe in St. Louis?

The bell rings and of course Callis joins commentary, saying the French Canadians are outta control. Nana gets everyone chanting, “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” as Swerve and Takeshita circle. They stare down, and Swerve surprisingly offers a handshake. Takeshita surprisingly takes it, but then neither man lets go. They use that as part of the grapple, and they move around to find openings. Swerve steps over, headlocks, but Takeshita wrenches out. Takeshita grinds the shoulder, Swerve trips Takeshita and has the leg, and then floats to headlock. Takeshita slips out the back to waistlock.

Takeshita shoots the half nelson for the cover, ONE as Swerve goes Matrix! The fans applaud the exchange as the two reset. Callis admits Swerve is a great athlete with sneaky strength, but Takeshita is still the best rope to rope wrestler in the company. The two tie up, Swerve headlocks, but Takeshita knuckle locks through to power up and put Swerve on the ropes. Takeshita lets off slowly, but then lands a cheap shot! The ref reprimands, Takeshita whips, but Swerve flips up and around and stares Takeshita down! Takeshita runs in, Swerve sunset flips, but Takeshita stays up. Swerve goes Matrix again to avoid the fist drop, and he rolls Takeshita up, TWO!

Swerve doesn’t let Takeshita go far, he floats around and rolls him for a short arm scissor! Takeshita hurries to the ROPEBREAK! Swerve lets go quickly and Callis admits Swerve has incredibly smooth transitions. The fans rally up, Takeshita rushes in but Swerve dodges to mule kick! Takeshita brushes the ref aside, puts Swerve in a corner and he rains down forearms! Callis likes what he sees as Takeshita grinds the forearm in Swerve’s face. The ref counts, Takeshita lets off at 4, and Swerve clutches a shoulder. Takeshita drags Swerve up, ROCKS him, and Swerve leans against ropes to stay up. Takeshita stands Swerve up to ROCK him again, but Swerve SLAPS back! Takeshita fires a flurry of forearms, then runs in, only for Swerve to sidestep! SNAP GERMAN! Takeshita grinds Swerve down, even steps over to trap a leg, but Swerve still endures. Swerve reaches out, but then Takeshita pushes him down for a NECK TWIST! Takeshita then goes back for the chinlock, adding a rear mount for more leverage. Swerve still endures and Dynamite returns to single picture. The fans rally up, Swerve fights to his feet, but Takeshita pulls hair to wrangle Swerve back down! So Swerve twists Takeshita’s nose!

Swerve still managed that move even with the bad arm, and he puts Takeshita back in. Swerve goes up, Takeshita turns around, CROSSBODY! Cover, ONE!! Callis says that sends a message there, and Swerve definitely looks frustrated.

Swerve goes back to Takeshita to drag him up and fire fast hands! And even some kicks! Swerve winds up, but the bad shoulder holds him back! Takeshita DECKS Swerve again!! Quebec is thunderous, Callis is upset, and from the looks of it, Samoa Joe is also unhappy he’ll have to face Swerve 1v1. Renee even walks over to ask him how he feels about having said 1v1 match with Swerve. Joe says, “How do I feel? What’s baffling to me is how he’s feeling right now. This is a man celebrating the biggest fate he’s ever gonna catch in his life. And next week, Swerve, when you walk down to that ring and you sign on the dotted line, I am gonna make sure that you UNDERSTAND what you are asking for. You think you’re ready? No. No. You’re not that man.” The King of Wrestling Television storms off, but will he lose his throne to Swerve’s Dynasty?

My Thoughts:

A great Dynamite here, so much great build towards Dynasty. Amazing opening match from Ospreay VS Shibata, great win from Ospreay so that he’ll be ready for Bryan, and then good move following it up with a career retrospective type hype video on Bryan. Awesome #1 contender’s Fatal 4 for the TBS Championship. We didn’t really get any fighting between Kris and Willow, which is actually quite clever, and great win for Willow. Julia of course goes after her, but I feel like that indicates Julia is losing the title and Willow will carry this belt in a feud with Mercedes Mone.

Really good promo from Dustin Rhodes and The Butcher to set up their match on Rampage, and I like that someone finally brought up the Bunkhouse match again. Really good little promo from Kyle O’Reilly to make it clear he’s having another match. And I like that AEW let Darby help plug Tony Hawk’s charity, I’m not even a skater but I appreciate them wanting to help all these kids out there who are or want to be. Good promo from Jericho and Hook to set up not a match but a manager-client relationship. You’d hope Jericho is going to be an honest manager but just as Hook implied, there is always a chance Jericho turns on Hook and we still get them fighting for the FTW title.

Great promo from Edge to give us his feelings after that big win in the I Quit match but to also pivot things towards the Cope Open’s return, just as I was hoping. A bit redundant, though, as they kinda snuck in the announcement during one of the tag matches. They should really just understand what the plan for the show is before having commentary bother with saying stuff like that. Anyway, the Cope Open is going to be awesome, can’t wait to see who becomes Edge’s first defense that he’ll of course win. And great though rather random bit with Toni Storm and Ben Mankiewicz, she didn’t even mention Deonna Purrazzo or Thunder Rosa. Maybe Tony Khan’s still writing that stuff.

A great promo from The Bucks with Renee to lead into their match with Private Party, and that was an awesome match. Of course The Bucks win, both because they’re definitely heading for the titles and they were going to get their win back after all these years. Best Friends VS The Kingdom was also great stuff, and I really liked Best Friends turning the cheat around on The Kingdom. Cassidy & Trent VS Bucks is going to be great, too, but as I’ve said before, this tournament has to be leading to Bucks VS FTR Round 4. FTR will beat Infantry, then beat winner of Top Flight VS Starks & Morrissey, Dynasty will add to AEW’s biggest tag team rivalry.

And of course, awesome stuff in the AEW World Championship story. Great promo from Callis and Swerve, amazing main event from Swerve VS Takeshita, like PPV level in itself. Swerve of course wins, and Samoa Joe had a great promo to respond to it. That contract signing segment will definitely be some good stuff, and their 1v1 match at Dynasty will be match of the year level for sure.

My Score: 9/10

PLAY BY PLAY

Bullet Club Gold speaks.

They have a skeleton prop with the sign, “Darby On Everest.” It even has a taped up foot! The BCG is having a BBQ poolside in someone’s backyard, and Colten says, “As you can see, The Bang Bang Gang is not in miserable Toronto. We are in sunny Florida.” Sun’s up, guns up! And the reason why is because they handled some Big Business last week. Jay White saved a man’s life! That’s what they’re calling breaking Darby’s foot? Colten says Jay even saved Max Caster’s rap career and Anthony Bowens’ modeling career. The Gunns once took the tag titles from The Acclaimed, so how about they take the AEW Trios titles?

Austin says as far as their old dog of a dad goes, how did he not see this coming given their relationship? Maybe this time, they take Billy out back and put him out to pasture. They don’t need him anymore! Jay finishes cooking and says yeah, they don’t need Daddy Ass. White’s taking care of these boys, just like he’s taken care off this new friend with a fresh coat of gold~! He’s painted Sting’s baseball bat to give it a much-needed sprucing up. White isn’t an artist like Darby, but maybe Darby can give White some pointers seeing as how White saved his life from that mountain. Now Darby is free to do almost anything he wants.

White says “almost” because Darby won’t be climbing Everest this year. Darby will train, his foot will heal, and maybe next year or the year after, maybe then Darby can try and conquer the mountain to breathe that Everest air. But just ask The Acclaimed & Daddy Ass, White is bigger than Everest! Darby will not conquer him, and he will NOT Breathe with the Switchblade! Then they all shout at the prop Darby as it rides down the water slide and into the pool. Darby, no~! The BCG is joking around now, but will all their enemies be having the last laugh?

Renee Paquette is on stage.

She welcomes us to Rampage, and then welcomes out her guest, The Acclaimed! The fans fire up as Caster & Bowens make their entrance, sans Billy. Max oddly references the other Max by saying, “Cut my music, cut my music. Yo!” “Yo!” “Yo!” “Yo!” “YO!” “YO!” “Listen…! We should’ve known. We should’ve known. Last week, The Bang Bang Gang, our former partners, attacked us right in that ring, left us laying, and as you can see, only two of the Trios Champs are here tonight. Billy Gunn not even cleared to travel after what happened to him last week.” Fans boo and Caster says Billy got hit in the head by The Switchblade.

Let’s hear how you feel about that! Let them hear you, Toronto! Toronto boos Jay White, and Caster says he feels the same, and apparently White feels the same about Toronto! White didn’t even wanna show up tonight in Toronto. But Acclaimed show up even when they’re demoralized, when they get attacked, when they get hurt, because they don’t get scared. And Jay, you are pretty scared. Caster would be scared too if he was some light heavyweight pretend tough guy who hides behind his Ass Boys! The fans chant “ASS~ BOYS! ASS~ BOYS!” Caster says White thinks he saved Darby’s life? Allow Caster to “save” White then.

Caster offers a one-way, first class ticket to anywhere he wants to go. Back home to New Zealand, back to Japan, it doesn’t matter, so long as it is not AEW. And if White is smart, he’d take the offer, but he won’t because he ain’t smart. Wanna know how Caster knows White ain’t smart? “How?” “Because only a stupid person would piss off the best wrestler alive! Only a stupid person piss off The Acclaimed. And when you bring your stupid ass back here with your Ass Boys, we’ll be there to ruin your life and hunt you down!”

Bowens adds, “And Toronto, I apologize if I’m not the happy-go-lucky Bowens that you’re used to. But I’m pissed off! Because there’s three people that didn’t have the BALLS to show up to Canada. Instead, they showed some video, sitting by the pool, talking about the trios titles and Darby. And it didn’t really make much sense to me until I realized, there’s a little bit more to that. And that is that there’s a teeny tiny part of you that deep down knows that you guys are not elite enough! Austin, Colten, there is a beautiful video package highlighting the beautiful history of the AEW tag team titles, and you weren’t good enough to be in it!

“Jay White, maybe you should’ve listened to the internet and signed some place else, because you brought your raggedy ass all the way over here, you went through the Continental Classic, and you LOST! You got a shot at the AEW World Heavyweight Championship, and you LOST to MJF with one leg! And the only reason why you’re holding a title around your waist is because The Acclaimed helped you. YOU need to stop blaming everyone else for your shortcomings, and YOU need to blame yourself! You are NOT a savior, you are NOT a catalyst, you are a coward, and I am counting down the days until we beat your ass silly!”

The fans fire up and Bowens says here’s something they need to see. Cameraman, swing around. Toronto! Throw those scissors high in the air! The fans join in, then Bowens says put the index finger down, and join them in showing the Bang Bang Gang how you really feel! Jay, the Acclaimed never needed you, they never will! This is the only gang they need! Because EVERYONE loves The Acclaimed!! The intensity has been turned up to eleven, will Caster, Bowens & Billy cut down Bullet Club Gold once and for all?

AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Wild Card: Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta VS “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs & Kyle Fletcher!

This Freshly Squeezed combination for Best Friends has been making it work! They’re 3-0 between both AEW and ROH, but this fourth match is the one that matters most! Will they be moving on to the quarterfinals to go after The Undisputed Kingdom? Or will the Don Callis Family look to start Rampage strong with the first win of this unique combination?

The teams sort out and Cassidy starts against Hobbs. The fans rally up as Cassidy puts his hands up. Cassidy reaches for his pockets, but Hobbs runs up! Cassidy dodges, swings, but Hobbs dodges the Orange Punch to SPINEBUSTER! Cover, Trent breaks it! Fletcher kicks Trent and CLUBS him down, then Hobbs helps mug him. Trent runs to ELBOW Fletcher, then reels Fletcher in, TORNADO- NO, Fletcher blocks that, hands Trent off to Hobbs, and then Hobbs pops Trent up! PENDULUM BOMB! The fans boo while the Family hugs it out, NOT what the people want as Rampage goes picture in picture.

Hobbs rains down forearms on Trent, then paces. Hobbs drags Trent up, scoops him, and hits a BIG sidewalk slam! Trent writhes, Hobbs covers, TWO! Hobbs keeps Trent from Cassidy, tags in Fletcher, and they mug Trent. Fletcher soaks up the heat and pretends he can’t hear the fans. Fletcher taunts Cassidy, goes back to Trent, and he bumps Trent off buckles. Fletcher stands Trent up to KICK low! Then he stands Trent up so he can KICK again! Fletcher whips corner to corner hard and Trent falls to his knee! Rampage returns to single picture, the fans rally for “BEST FRIENDS! BEST FRIENDS!” but Fletcher fireman’s carries.

Trent slips free and he TORNADO DDTS! The fans fire up while Fletcher flounders away! Trent crawls, Hobbs runs in! Trent TOSSES Hobbs, then hot tags Cassidy! Cassidy climbs to CROSSBODY Fletcher! Cassidy keeps going, eh DIVES and takes out Hobbs! Cassidy hurries back in, dodges Fletcher, and tilt-o-whirl DDTS! Cover, Hobbs breaks it! Hobbs goes to his corner, Fletcher hurries over, and Fletcher tags Hobbs. Hobbs runs up but into a SUPERKICK! Hobbs stays up! And he ROCKS Cassidy with a forearm! Hobbs keeps Cassidy from falling, then torture racks! Hobbs bends Cassidy, Fletcher intercepts Trent!

Trent spins things around to POST Fletcher, then he fires forearms on Hobbs! Hobbs doesn’t flinch so Trent fires more shots! Cassidy goes to sunset flip, Hobbs stays up! He eggs Trent on, so Trent BUSAIKU KNEES Hobbs into the sunset high stack! TWO!! Hobbs escapes, but Cassidy “unleashes” the kicks! Then he stomps and stomps and stomps! The fans fire up but Hobbs blocks one to SHOVE Cassidy down! Then he CLOBBERS Cassidy! Fans boo but Hobbs tags Fletcher. Fletcher watches Cassidy flounder to a corner, then he runs corner to corner to forearm! Trent runs up but Fletcher gets around to HALF ‘N’ HALF!

Trent ends up in a corner, Fletcher runs in to GAMANGIRI! GAMANGIRI for Cassidy! Fletcher suplexes but into STUN DOG MILLIONAIRE and a HALF ‘N’ HALF from Trent! The fans are thunderous, and Best Friends HUG! You GOT to give the people what they want! But then Hobbs CLOBBERS them both!! Hobbs brings down the straps, stomps Cassidy on the outside, then stands on him! The ref reprimands, Hobbs hauls Cassidy right up to TOSS him into the LED apron! Cassidy writhes but Hobbs tells him to get up. Hobbs steps on Cassidy and pulls hair to bend Cassidy back! The ref reprimands and Hobbs lets off.

Hobbs reels Cassidy in, but Trent SUPERKICKS from the apron! Cassidy Alabama Lifts?! STRONG ZERO BEACH BREAK to the floor!! But Fletcher DIVES onto Trent! SUPERKICK for Cassidy! Fletcher puts Cassidy in and runs up, but has to dodge the Orange Punch! Cassidy tilt-o-whirls, but into Fletcher’s SPINNING TOMBSTONE!! Cover, TWO!! Fletcher is furious, he tastes blood in his mouth, and he glares at Cassidy. Cassidy flounders to a corner, Fletcher runs corner to corner, GAMANGIRI! Fletcher puts Cassidy up top, climbs up after him, but Trent CLUBS Fletcher first! Trent climbs up behind Fletcher for a SUPER HALF ‘N’ HALF!!

Cassidy resets as Fletcher rises, DEEP IMPACT!! Trent SPEARS Hobbs on the outside!! Cassidy throws off the elbow pad, takes aim as Fletcher rises, ORANGE PUNCH!!! Cover, Best Friends win!!

Winners: Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta, by pinfall (advance to the quarterfinals)

Another victory for Best Friends and now they’re going to the next round! Will they avenge Cassidy’s loss of the International Championship by defeating The Kingdom and denying them more gold?

Katsuyori Shibata VS Kevin Matthews!

The Wrestler had an instant classic with Bryan Danielson on Collision last week, and he’ll undoubtedly have another one with Will Ospreay next week on Dynamite. Will Shibata simply use this match in Toronto as a tune-up? Or will #BigKM get a big W?

The bell rings and the two tie up. Shibata fires forearms with KM and the fans rally behind Shibata. Shibata gets the edge, he puts KM in a corner and just hammers away! The ref counts, Shibata runs corner to corner and back again, HYDRAULIC DROPKICK! Shibata drags KM up, for the HALF HATCH! Cover, TWO! KM is still in this but Shibata kicks him around. KM flails, but he drops fast! He’s already so red in the face!

Shibata lets go to run and PENALTY KICK! High stack, Shibata wins!

Winner: Katsuyori Shibata, by pinfall

Now that the Wrestler is all warmed up, is he going to be more than ready for Will Ospreay next week?

Adam “Edge” Copeland and the locker room celebrate!

The Rated R Superstar is still bloody from the I Quit Match main event from Dynamite that technically bled over into Rampage. He toasts with Daniel Garcia, Matt Sydal, Best Friends, Top Flight and a few others. They spray the champagne and finish the bottles, will Edge paint the town red tonight?

Konosuke Takeshita w/ Don Callis VS Rocky Romero!

While the snake that is Don Callis made the match of The Alpha VS Swerve Strickland for next week on Dynamite, this match was in the books before that. Will Takeshita use Azucar as a tune-up before taking on The Realest? Or will Rocky catch Takeshita looking past him and add to the Family’s misfortunes?

The bell rings and the two circle. The fans rally up, they tie up, and Takeshita shoves Rocky away. Takeshita eggs Rocky on with “C’mon~!” Rocky stands, resets with Takeshita, and they tie up. Rocky waistlocks, headlocks, but Takeshita puts Rocky up top with ease. Takeshita pats Rocky on the head to mock the height difference, and Rocky smiles sarcastically. Rocky hops down to get face to, well, chest with Takeshita. Takeshita eggs Rocky on, so Rocky CHOPS! And CHOPS! Rocky eggs Takeshita on, Takeshita winds up, but Rocky ROCKS him first! Takeshita deadlifts for the FALCON ARROW!! Cover, Takeshita wins!

Winner: Konosuke Takeshita, by pinfall

The Alpha takes the win and rebounds from his loss to Ospreay at Revolution. Will Takeshita look to take Swerve out of the running and go after the world title? Or will Don Callis regret sending Takeshita into Swerve’s House?

Mark Henry welcomes us back to Rampage.

“Toronto, run for cover, duck ‘n’ hide, these women are taking it to the streets. Willow Nightingale & Kris Statlander take on Julia Hart & Skye Blue.” This grudge has been building and it reaches the climax! Looks like there’s been enough talk. It’s TIME for main~ event! Who survives when there’s nothing to stop them from going too far?

Street Fight: Kris Statlander & Willow Nightingale w/ Stokely Hathaway VS Julia Hart & Skye Blue!

Big Stoke joins commentary as The Galaxy’s Greatest Babes with the Power still have those chairs from earlier tonight. On the flipside, the TBS Champion and her sinister sidekick have kendo sticks painted black ‘n’ blue. The teams rush each other at the ramp and the bell rings as they all fire off! The chairs beat the sticks and then the chairs beat up Julia & Skye! Then Willow & Kris uses the sticks to SMACK Skye & Julia around! My Thoughts:

An amazing Rampage here, probably one of the best in a long time. For one, good bit backstage with Edge celebrating with the young Face wrestlers and Matt Sydal. Any of those young guys could be a challenger for Edge on the way to Dynasty should he bring back the Cope Open. And then, I didn’t want to laugh as hard as I did at the Darby skeleton prop but I could not help it, it was just so outta nowhere. Great promo from Bang Bang Bullet Club Gold, and awesome promo from The Acclaimed bringing out that intensity. While this is a new take on their past feud, it’s still gonna be great with this being how The Acclaimed is going into the grudge match.

Great tag match for the tag title tournament, and while on paper, Hobbs and Fletcher really shouldn’t be losing, story did dictate that Best Friends face Undisputed Kingdom. Great match for Takeshita with Rocky, but of course Takeshita was winning that one, even before he was going into a match with Swerve. Same goes for Shibata beating KM, but hey, KM is a big dude and he’s fortunate to have even gotten any hits in on Shibata. And of course just an amazing Street Fight Tag for the main event. The women’s division may not get as many matches as we’d like on any given show, but they have been raising the bar when it comes to these matches.

Julia & Skye winning was a big surprise, as was the finish not involving Willow, but maybe this still leads us to Julia VS Willow because they want to prove something to the other in a 1v1 match? As I said in Dynamite, this still needs to give us Willow VS Mercedes in a rematch from their NJPW Strong Women’s Championship match.

My Score: 8.9/10
