MJF- No, wait, CM PUNK heads to the ring!
The Best in the World used MJF’s music to fake out the fans! Long Island is torn as many were expecting the hometown “hero” to show up. Punk gets the mic to say, “Is that all you got? Chicago was so much louder.” Punk is all smiles as fans boo. Punk has just realized why the Islanders have yet to win a game in this building. “Should I continue? Well, y’all certainly don’t disappoint, unlike your guy, MJF.” That’s why Punk is here. MJF is their guy? Fans are also torn on that. Getting hot in here for Punk. He’s wearing an AEW Four Pillars Shirt, but he replaced MJF with Britt Baker!
Punk wants to make sure their guy can’t put over a woman based on her accomplishments, it has to be about the lewds. That incel is their guy? The guy that said, to Punk’s face in Punk’s hometown, that MJF is better than Roddy Piper in Portland, when he isn’t even as good as Piper when Hell comes to frog town. In Punk’s hometown, he stepped to MJF and said they’d do it there. MJF took his sports coat off, his watch and his scarf off, and then ran! Punk can’t understand the fans jeering, just like the Islanders can’t figure out how to put a puck in a net. The Islanders beat Ottawa? That’s like when Punk beat QT Marshall a few weeks ago.
Is this what MJF wants? “That’s your guy?” Fans continue to be torn, but here’s what Punk wants. He wanted to see how the fans would react and he’s a bit taken aback. But he understands. When he was a kid, he hated Dennis Rodman, just like Chicago did, because he was on the Detroit Pistons. But then he changed to the Chicago Bulls and Rodman become Punk’s guy. That’s Punk’s “worm,” so it seems MJF is Long Island’s “worm.” Punk isn’t mad at the fans, he just feels a bit sorry. Punk has his eyes set on next week, the AEW World Championship match, Hangman Adam Page VS The American Dragon, Bryan Danielson. Punk wants next! And we gotta believe MJF wants next, too.
But there’s this thing between Punk and MJF that they need to settle before one of them, most likely Punk, goes on to fight for the AEW title. Punk keeps trying to get MJF to do this but MJF just runs away. Fans can cheer for MJF, that’s fine. If they can look themselves in the mirror still, that’s fine. But Punk knows what this looks like to an outsider: two guys arguing and they can’t tell who the idiot is. Chicago knows the idiot is MJF. Punk proposes they settle it like he has the last two weeks. Punk doesn’t want to deal with Shawn Spears, Wardlow or FTR. This is between him and MJF, who stooped as low as to bring Punk’s dog, Larry, into this. And Larry has more balls than MJF, and Larry got neutered.
So MJF has wasted enough of Punk’s time, but let’s be honest. He is having fun. If MJF is someone’s hero, Punk gets it. The Islanders haven’t won anything since 1984. So Punk puts out the challenge: him and MJF, 1v1. No more running like they do in Long Island. Stand and fight like in Chicago! And Punk has no out, but neither does MJF. MJF VS Punk, even here tonight! Fans do like the sound of that. But Punk is pretty sure MJF won’t agree to it, nor a man in this building that would agree to it. If MJF is who they back, then they’re all chicken s*it. Punk leaves with his music, but will he gets the match he wants from Maxwell Jacob Friedman?
A car is pulling up to the UBS Arena.
A voiceover guy says, “The difference between a hero and a villain is perspective. If you think this man is a villain, you aren’t from Long Island. You haven’t driven on the LIE with the top down while blasting Billy Joel. You haven’t grabbed some Ralph’s Ices, some Ben’s matzah ball soup, and a Bagel Boss bagel. If you don’t get that, you’re probably a poor, and most definitely mid.” The driver steps out, and of course it’s MJF. “The perspective of people from the most magical place in the world, Long Island, New York, is that this man is a hero. Allow me to list off the accomplishments of this mighty hero.
“All-state linebacker, breaking the Nassau County all-time record in tackles for a season. All-state choir tenor 2. Captain of the all-male acapella group known as the Aca-Fellas. Made Varsity his freshman year in amateur wrestling, and was never taken down. He also broke the Plainview High record in the keg stand, with an impressive one minute and 33 second chug. And yes, I know what you’re thinking. You’re correct. He pulled so many chicks. I mean, bro, it was freakin’ nuts, dude. The bottom line is, this man might not be your cup of tea. But to us Long Islanders, he’s Salt of the Earth. And that makes him better than you, and you know it.”

Lio rebounds off the bottom rope to STUNNER Starks down! Kaz turns things around on Johnson, dumps him out but Johnson holds the ropes! Lio goes after Kaz, drags Starks up, Dante CLUBS Kaz down. MJF gives Wardlow a shoulder massage for the hard work he’s done. Starks holds on, Lio goes after his hands! Starks desperately hooks the apron with his foot as Lio hammers his hands! Kaz sees Wardlow in his way of MJF so he goes after Starks instead.
Kaz whips and CLOBBERS Starks with an elbow! Dante dropkicks Johnson in a corner, then Dante goes after Kaz with haymakers. Kaz knees low, Kaz back suplexes but Dante rebounds off ropes to duck and dodge, DOUBLE CROSSBODIES cancel out for those two! Starks sits up and Lio throws forearms. MJF picks his spot and STOMPS Dante, to then scurry back to the corner. Johnson bumps Dante off buckles, throws body shots, then hoists him up. Dante resists , the ref reprimands MJF hiding on the apron but it’s not like he can be disqualified. Starks fights Lio off and goes up top but Lio goes after him with haymakers!
AEW returns to single picture and Lio KICKS Starks down! MJF gets another cheap shot in on Dante! Fans are thunderous for their hero! Johnson gives Kaz a JAWBREAKER! Wardlow goes after Lio, Lio DECKS MJF! Fans boo as Kaz and Starks keep Wardlow busy! Wardlow DECKS Kaz, DECKS Starks, then choke grips Lio! He choke grips Johnson, too, but Dante DROPKCIKS Wardlow! Lio and Johnson go after Wardlow, but then MJF dumps them AND Wardlow out for a TRIPLE ELIMINATION!! MJF didn’t mean to get rid of his muscle, that was his insurance policy! But then Kaz runs in, only for MJF to dump him out and ELIMINATE him!!
But Dante and Starks are still in this, the math is on their side. The lights flash to indicate the next elimination ends this. MJF realizes that, but then Datne TOSSES Starks and ELIMINATES him?!?
Winners: MJF and Dante Martin (will battle for the Dynamite Diamond Ring next week)
Team Taz was absolutely shocked as Dante just used Team Taz to his advantage! MJF wants to shake Dante’s hand, and Dante takes it. MJF raises Dante’s hand, pats him on the back, and takes his leave. Will MJF make sure he keeps his Dynamite Diamond Ring next week? As for Dante, Starks comes back and attacks! He wants payback for the swerve! MJF looks back and considers helping Dante, but continues up the ramp. Fans are fired up, they want their hero to actually be a hero, but MJF says- Wait, he rushes back in!
MJF gets in Starks’ face, shoves him, but Starks shoves back! But then he just helps Starks beat up Dante!! MJF is always about himself, but here comes PUNK! MJF bails out, Starks wants Punk! Punk has wanted after Starks, but Dante ENZIGURIS Starks! Then Punk fireman’s carries, GO TO SLEEP! MJF “applauds,” and mockingly bows, too. FTR and Tully Blanchard speak.
Tully says, “These two gentlemen once were the world tag team champions for AEW. They will be again, the first two-time champions. They have defeated the Lucha Brothers once, they sent a substitute, beat ’em twice. They went to their home country, and beat ’em thrice. And it is so hard to get them back in the ring. Gentlemen, let’s put this to bed.” Cash Wheeler says it is just as the legendary Tully just said. Lucha Brothers have never beaten FTR and never will. Their only victory was a fluke, it doesn’t count. No more fun and games, no more Halloween costumes. Now it is time for FTR to take their rightful spot at the top of the tag team division.

The Spanish God is still AEW TNT Champion, and his open challenge continues. But before Sammy can say more, Cody Rhodes walks out? Cody apologizes for the interruption, he just didn’t want to blindside anyone. “From one good guy to the next, your open challenge is going great. Christmas Day, your open challenge has been filled. Tony Khan just made it official. You’ll be defending the TNT title against me.” Fans boo but Cody shakes hands with Sammy and wishes the kid good luck. And then he goes back out the way he came.
Ethan Page laughs from the cheap seats? “Of course he gets the title match! Of course Cody Rhodes gets the title match, he gets to skip ahead of the line. And what happens to Ethan Page’s title match, huh? I had to jump through hoop, after hoop, after hoop, after hoop, just to get my TNT title shot! No open challenge! That’s BS.” But y’know what? Maybe if Ethan was an EVP or kissed Tony Khan’s ass, he’d get a shot quicker. But y’know who did get him his shot? DAN LAMBERT! Oh, you love him, huh? Guess what! You’re gonna get more! He’s on his way back! Scorpio Sky says damn right Lambert’s coming back!
And what’s Sammy gonna say now? Talk about being a fighting champion? Someone who faces any and everyone except the guys in the top five, right? Ethan points out that these two are in the top fight. Scorpio tells Schiavone not to give Sammy an interview. Give him BALLS! Cuz at some point, Sammy’s gotta step up to the plate, stop calling himself a champion and prove he is one! Sammy says he’s right here. Just come get him! The Men of the Year stay far, far away, but will they get a shot at the Spanish God before the year is up?
AEW takes a closer look at the other TBS Championship Tournament semifinal.
Thunder Rosa says, “Jade, you wanna know what I know about you? Money corrupted you.” Jade Cargill counters, “We get paid by the match, not by the hour. So we’re gonna make this quick, and we’re gonna make this money.” Rosa says Jade hit her with a chair because she didn’t have the guts or the ability to beat her clean. Mark Sterling notes Jade made quick work of Janai Kai, Rosa’s student. That is someone Rosa taught all her knowledge to. And Kai was on of Rosa’s best, right? Rosa says Jade has no respect for anyone or anything. Jade wants to get this straight for Thunder Rosa. “This is MY show.”
That won’t stop Rosa’s future of becoming the FIRST TBS Champion. But this is #ThatBitchShow. Will La Mera Mera end up Jaded when these two finally face off 1v1?

Hayter stands on Riho’s back at the ropes but lets off as the ref counts. Hayter stands on Riho’s head, Britt taunts Riho with the AEW Women’s title, then Hayter lets off.
Hayter drags Riho back up again, stomps her, then CLUBS her! Hayter kicks Riho around, stands on her chest, and AEW goes to break.
AEW returns and Hayter suplexes, but Riho fights it! Hayter blocks the cradle counter to suplex high and hard! Hayter stomps Riho, but Riho fires forearms back! Both women are down and Britt is suddenly worried! Hayter gets frustrated as she rolls to ropes. The ring count climbs, Rebel coaches Hayter, and the count is 5 of 10.
Riho gets to ropes, Britt gets upset, but Hayter gets up. Hayter drags Riho up, and Riho fires off forearms on Hayter! Hayter forearms back, scoops Riho but Riho slips out to roll up! TWO, but Riho hurries to a corner. Riho runs back, full nelsons but can’t lift! Hayter elbows free, Riho staggers away. Hayter runs in, only gets buckles, Riho full nelsons to DRAGON SUPLEX!! Hayter gets Riho’s leg for a HALF CRAB! Riho endures, Britt wants her to give up already! Hayter bends Riho way back, but Riho refuses to quit! Riho crawls, reaches out, but Hayter drags her away! Riho uses that to roll and get up to sunset flip! TWO! Hayter stagger sup and BOOTS Riho! Riho stays up, Hayter runs but into a JUMP KNEE! Riho runs in again, tilt-o-whirl, CODE RED!! Cover, TWO!?!? Hayter survives and Riho is beside herself! The fans fire up but Britt is frustrated. Riho goes up top, DIVING DOUBLE STOMPS!! Cover, TWO?!!? Riho keeps her cool, she kicks Hayter to another drop zone and goes up top again. But Hayter stops her with forearms!
Hayter climbs, CLUBS away on Riho, then brings her up. Riho fights the superplex, throws furious fists of her own, and then shoves Hayter down! But Rebel anchors Riho! Riho KICKS Rebel, Hayter ROCKS Riho! Hayter climbs, CLUBS Riho, then hoists her up for a fireman’s carry! But Riho fights again! Riho turns this into a SUPER CRUCIFIX BOMB!! Hayter flounders, fans lose their minds, Riho SOBATO DOUBLE KNEES!! Cover, Riho wins!!
Winner: Riho, by pinfall
What an epic! Riho survives, but Britt attacks from behind! Britt furiously forearms Riho in the back, then gets the glove! Rings of Saturn, LOCK JAW!! The ref stops Britt but Britt scuffs Riho on the way out. “You will never be champion again!” Will Britt back up those words? Or will she be made to eat them?

Not only will we see the Six Woman Tag of Nyla, Ford & Bunny VS Ruby, Tay & Jay, as well as the AEW World Tag Team Championship rematch, Lucha Brothers VS FTR, but after everything that went down between Chaos and the Super Kliq, we will see Wheeler Yuta VS Adam Cole!
Taz announces that Dante Martin & Lio Rush may have swerved Team Taz, but this Friday, it will be the in-ring debut of HOOK, against Fuego Del Sol! Taz says the world will see Hook is all that and a bag of chips!
AEW Revolution returns in March 2022 in Orlando, Florida!
It’ll be a Revolution weekend, as well, with Rampage on Friday, March 4th, AEW Fanfest on March 5th, and the PPV live on Sunday, March 6th! Get your tickets starting Friday, 12/17 at 10 AM Eastern!
Winter is Coming is getting even hotter!
We will once again see Serena Deeb VS Hikaru Shida. Deeb says everyone’s wanted to see the best women’s wrestler become inaugural TBS Champion, and Shida took that away! But Shida says Deeb spoiled everything! Now Shida will hunt Deeb down and make her pay! If Shida thinks having her leg smashed in with a steel chair was the worst, think again! Deeb has 1000 ways to hurt someone! Bad blood is boiling, but who will be left out in the cold next Dynamite?
Schiavone interviews The Varsity Blonds & Julia Hart.
They won the 8 Man Tag earlier and are at 21 wins! Things are looking up, but then the lights turn off! The lights return, and MALAKAI BLACK is on stage with them! But why? He sprays mist into Julia’s face, and then disappears as the lights go dark again! What is this attack about?! What does the Dark Father have against the Blonds!?
Bryan Danielson VS John Silver!
The American Dragon hasn’t actually checked off every member of the Dark Order, but he’s going after who he considers the strongest member, but also the biggest joke in the faction. Will the Meat Man be the perfect appetizer for this vicious vegan before he goes after Hangman Page? Or will Johnny Hungy be too much for the GOAT?
The bell rings and fans fire up as the two stare down. Fans rally for “JOHNNY HUNGY!” and Bryan laughs. But he isn’t laughing with Silver, he’s laughing at Silver. They tie up, Bryan wrenches and clamps onto an arm, but Silver slips through to wrench back. Silver wristlocks, Bryan rolls, hooks a leg and chinbars to bring Silver around. Bryan ha the arm, Silver powers out and things speed up, only for Bryan to run Silver over! Bryan soaks up the heat then eggs Silver on. Silver gets up, he ties up with Bryan and headlocks. Bryan powers out, things speed up again, Silver runs Bryan over and flexes! He’s friggin’ jacked, baby!
Bryan runs in but Silver picks him up to TOSS him! And he flexes again! Bryan gets to a corner, Silver waits on him now. Bryan takes his time as fans rally up. Bryan calls for a test of strength, Silver approaches and they knuckle lock. But then Bryan KICKS, KIKCS and KICKS Silver to ropes! Bryan EuroUppers, whips Silver to ropes, but Silver ducks and ROUNDHOUSES back! And KICKS and KICKS and KICKS! The ref counts, Silver lets off, Bryan gets a foot. Bryan drags Silver out to SLAM the leg on the apron! Bryan then spins Silver around to EuroUppers him again and again on the apron! The ref starts a ring count, Bryan lets off to then get on the apron, and GUILLOTINE KNE DROP!
Bryan asks, “Who’s the best?!” and fans are torn while AEW goes picture in picture.
Bryan takes his time returning to the ring while Silver crawls in. Bryan walks into body shots but he clinches Silver to a cravat to throw a BIG knee! Silver falls over, Bryan paces. Silver gets to a corner, Bryan digs his boot in! The ref counts, Bryan lets off at 4, and then soaks up the cheers and jeers from Long Island. Bryan stalks Silver to ropes, brings him up and EuroUppers! Bryan goes up the corner, eggs the fans on, then missile dropkicks Silver down! Bryan kips up to again soak up all the cheers and jeers. Bryan drags Silver around by the legs, ties them up, then KNEES Silver in the side of the head! And again! And again!
Bryan digs his knee in, lets off to drop another knee, then he lets off to listen to the fans. Silver sits up, Bryan drags him up but Silver CHOPS! And ROCKS Bryan with forearms! But Bryan just EuroUppers Silver back down! Bryan taunts the fans, paces around, then goes to a corner. Bryan hops up, waits on Silver to stand, and missile dropkicks again! Bryan kips up again to continue soaking it all in. AEW returns to single picture as Bryan bumps Silver off buckles. Bryan CHOPS Silver, KICKS him, then CHOPS again. Bryan KICKS, digs his boot in and taunts Silver. The ref counts, Bryan lets off at 4, and Bryan again soaks it all up.
Bryan drags Silver up for another EuroUpper. Bryan whips corner to corner, Silver reverses but runs into a boot! Bryan goes up top, leaps again, but Silver turns dropkick into POWERBOMB! Both men are down, a standing count starts as fans rally and duel. Bryan sits up at 4, stands at 5, and Silver follows. Bryan KICKS and KICKS but Silver KICKS back! Bryan KICKS and KICKS, Silver KICKS and KICKS and KICKS! Bryan blocks a kick but Silver rolls to get an ankle pick to a HEEL HOOK!! Bryan scrambles, stomps Silver with his free foot but Silver eggs him on! Silver WRENCHES the foot back, Bryan scrambles to the ROPEBREAK!
Bryan bails out but Silver goes to the apron! CANNONBALL! Down goes Bryan and fans fire up with Silver! Silver follows Bryan back into the ring, runs in but Bryan spins him around, backslide! Silver rolls off to KICK, KICK and SUPERKICK! Waistlock, GERMAN SUPLEX, but Bryan lands on his feet to BUZZSAW! Fans boo as Bryan wags his finger. Bryan says “Too easy!” Bryan aims from a corner, fans chant “NO! NO! NO!” but Bryan runs in, but Silver gets around to roll-up! TWO!! Bryan runs back in, but Silver trips him to the ropes! BOOT to the back, then SNAP GERMAN! Bridging cover, TWO!! Silver was so close and fans are fired up!
Silver snarls and calls for it! He torture racks Bryan, but Bryan rakes eyes! Bryan ROLLING ELBOWS Silver, and rams elbow after elbow into Silver’s head and shoulders! Again and again and again, but he won’t finish Silver like that! Bryan brings Silver up, Gotch hold, PILEDRIVER! Minoru Suzuki would be proud of that one! Then Bryan gets a DOUBLE ARMBAR! Silver is OUT, Bryan wins!!
Winner: Bryan Danielson, by submission
Bryan probably won this by knockout, too, with that piledriver. But Bryan gets a mic to say, “Whoa, whoa, whoa. Let’s see. Uno, head kicked in. Cabana, head kicked in. Alan Angels, head kicked in. Johnny Hungy… Oh. Wait a second. I’m nothing if not a man of my word. I promised to kick his head in. I promised to kick his head in! Just like I’m gonna kick Hangman’s head in next week.” Bryan goes back to Silver, gets the arms, DANIELSON STOMPS! But here comes HANGMAN! Bryan doesn’t see him until Hangman’s throwing hands on him! Bryan scrambles away, Hangman is fired up!
Fans fire up for “COWBOY SH*T!” and Hangman gets a mic! “Next week, I’m gonna stomp the cowboy sh*t outta you!!” Winter is Coming, and the AEW World Champion is coming for Bryan’s head! Will Hangman slay the American Dragon?
What a great episode here, that also acted as a go-home to next week’s big themed episode. Deeb VS Shida Round 3 is going to be awesome, but I’m a little surprised they didn’t up the ante into a No Disqualification match. Though I suppose it wouldn’t prove anything for these two incredibly technical wrestlers if it came down to using chairs and Shida’s kendo stick. Then we also got great set-up for Rampage, that AEW World Tag Team Championship match is going to be wild. After a great tag match of Bucks VS Chaos, getting Yuta VS Cole is an interesting move. But how awesome to see Trent back! We’re definitely (or at least should definitely) get an 8 Man Tag now.
CM Punk had a great promo to open the night, basically being Heel to the Long Island crowd. MJF had a great vignette to introduce him before the battle royal. I figured MJF would be a finalist, and I like the touch of him “accidentally” eliminating Wardlow. That can definitely come back to fuel Wardlow turning on MJF and ditching the Pinnacle. Dante swerving Team Taz was quite the surprise, and maybe, just maybe, Dante gets that ring off MJF. Between Wardlow being very close to leaving MJF, and even Punk getting involved to screw MJF, Dante has a good chance of getting the ring. Either that or Team Taz screws Dante and MJF still has the ring.
The Men of the Year end up Heels that make good points when it comes to Cody slipping in and getting the TNT Championship match for Christmas week. Maybe Sammy defends against Scorpio at Winter is Coming to see who faces Cody. Also, Cody is definitely being tongue in cheek about still being Face with that line about “Good guy to good guy.” If Cody is going to win that title back, it’s going to be because he turns Heel, even if he doesn’t acknowledge he’s become a Heel. Riho had an awesome match with Hayter, showing a lot of toughness and the ability to come back, but I don’t really see her taking the title off Britt.
We got a great 8 Man Tag, and I love that Caster brought back the promo-Cuomo rhyme. The Faces winning makes sense, Jurassic Express needs momentum for their eventual title match, and apparently the Blonds are going to be the new targets of Malakai Black for whatever reason. Maybe a “sins of the father” angle for BPJ? Kingston getting involved was great, and then having Ortiz end up part of the brawl with 2point0 and Garcia must mean that The Inner Circle gets involved since 2point0 and Garcia went after Jericho. That’s going to be a great build and Six Man Tag, no matter the combination on the Face side.
We got a great promo vignette from Rosa and Jade, and then we got a good set-up for a Six Woman Tag on Rampage. As I’ve said for the Dark and Elevation articles, Vickie Guerrero really should establish a larger female faction of “Vicious Vixens.” Penelope might as well join up, and Bunny might be Hardy Family Office but she might as well be considered a member. The Heels probably win the Six Woman Tag to give the math to Ruby on the TBS Championship Tournament match. That way, Ruby can be the Face that faces Jade Cargill and puts her over as the inaugural champion.
Then we got an awesome main event, probably Silver’s best singles match or even best match period. He gave Bryan a run for his money as they were basically mirror images. But Bryan’s experience and Heelish ways got the win, and then Hangman making the save was a great closing moment. Their match next week is going to be awesome, but I don’t see Hangman losing here, his reign is still too new. Honestly, I don’t see Hangman losing for some time, even with AEW Revolution being later than previous years with it at the beginning of March. A rematch with Kenny Omega, a match with Adam Cole, or a match with MJF, maybe. But we’re going to be in the Cowboy Shit Era for a good run to help with the move to TBS.
My Score: 9.1/10
Mitchell’s AEW Dark Results & Report! (10/4/22)
It’s Dark before the Anniversary!
Dark paves the way to the Dynamite Anniversary!
AEW is about to celebrate Dynamite’s Anniversary, but there’s plenty of action in the Dark! Will Dante Martin & Matt Sydal outwork the Workhorsemen?
- Marina Shafir VS Sio Nieves; Shafir wins.
- Ari Daivari w/ The Trustbusters VS AR Fox; Daivari wins.
- Tony Nese & Josh Woods w/Mark Sterling VS Rohit Raju & Invictus Khash; Nese & Woods win.
- Abadon VS Freya States; Abadon wins.
- Slim J w/ The Trustbusters VS Blake Christian; Slim J wins.
- Ryan Nemeth & Cezar Bononi w/ Peter Avalon VS Eli Isom & Chris Farrow; Nemeth & Bononi win.
- Parker Boudreaux w/ The Trustbusters VS Terry Kid; Boudreaux wins.
- Skye Blue VS Robyn Renegade w/ Charlette Renegade; Skye wins.
- The Iron Savages w/ JT Davidson VS Gus De La Vega & Levy Valenzuela; The Iron Savages win.
- Dante Martin & Matt Sydal VS The Workhorsemen; Dante & Sydal win.
Good line-up here. I feel like the Trustbusters are gonna sweep the night because they’ll all be supporting each other with Heel tactics. Honestly, I feel Blake Christian and AR Fox would each win their match-ups if they didn’t have to worry about outside distractions. Good to see the former Bear Country, now Iron Savages, Boulder & Bronson, back in action. They’ll definitely get a good return win. And Dante & Sydal VS JD Drake & Anthony Henry is a great tag match, and I would think Dante & Sydal win that.
Mitchell’s AEW Dark: Elevation Results & Report! (10/3/22)
Philly gets Elevated!
The Peacock and his Boys defends their gold!
AEW Dark: Elevation features the ROH World Six Man Tag Team Champions! But will Dalton Castle & The Tate Twins still reign in Philadelphia?
- Skye Blue VS Trish Adora; Skye wins.
- Brian Cage w/ Prince Nana VS Tracy Williams; Cage wins.
- Lance Archer VS Cheeseburger; Archer wins.
- Abadon VS Abby Jane; Abadon wins.
- ROH World Six Man Tag Team Championships: Dalton Castle & The Boys VS Primal Fear; Castle & The Boys win and retain the titles.
- Mixed Tag: Kip Sabian & Penelope Ford VS Gia Scott & Leon St. Giovanni; Kip & Penelope win.
- The Lucha Brothers w/ Alex Abrahantes VS Tony Deppen & Dante Martin; The Lucha Brothers win.
- 8 Man Tag: Best Friends VS The Factory; Best Friends win.
A really good line-up here, with the big attraction being Dalton & The Boys taking on Adrien Soriano, Matthew Omen, & Gabriel Hodder, aka Primal Fear. That’ll be a solid match that I will cover, but I don’t see the champions losing the titles. Good to see Cheeseburger but he’s gonna get eaten alive by Archer. And I like that we’re getting a full faction showdown of Best Friends VS The Factory. That’ll be a big win for Best Friends and they’ll have momentum going after Death Triangle for that feud.
PLAY BY PLAY
ROH World Six Man Tag Team Championships: Dalton Castle & The Boys VS Primal Fear!
The Peacock and the Tate Twins continue their reign as ROH’s trios champions, and now they defend these titles in the City of Brotherly Love! Adrien Soriano, Matthew Omen, & Gabriel Hodder are all hungry for the gold, but will they be the ones to fear Castle & The Boys?
The introductions are made, the belts are raised while The Boys help Castle with his robe and pants, and it is time to shine with gold in the Dark!
The trios sort out and Castle is all fired up as he starts against Soriano. They get in each other’s face, Castle gives a chest bump, so Soriano CHOPS him! Castle gets fanned off by the twins, then he comes back to circle with Soriano. Castle trips Soriano, rolls him with a leg, high stacks, TWO! Castle shoots in to waistlock and SLAMS Soriano down! Fans fire up, Castle waistlocks to roll Soriano around and throw down elbows. Castle gut wrenches, tag to Brendan, and he tags Brent. The Boys double whip Castle in to SPLASH Soriano at the corner, and then he feeds Soriano to a DOUBLE HIP TOSS!
The Boys roll Soriano back for Castle to shove forward into DOUBLE CLOTHESLINES! Brent covers, TWO! Brent drags Soriano up but he shoves Brent away to tag Hodder. Hodder runs in but Brent dodges to arm-drag him! Brent rushes in but Hodder kicks him low. Tag to Omen, they go after Brent but he fights back. That’s still 2v1 and they overwhelm him. They double whip, Brent ducks under but runs into a double TOSS right into the ropes! Soriano tags in and traps Brent, then Omen & Hodder run to the corners. They go up, out and Soriano runs, Primal Fear TRIPLE BOOTS Brent! Soriano covers, TWO!
Soriano drags Brent up, bumps him off buckles, but Brent elbows back. Brent hurries but Soriano reels him in. Brent lands out of the back suplex to hot tag Castle! Fans fire up with The Peacock as he rallies on Primal Fear! Castle gets around Soriano to Gotch lift OVERHEAD SUPLEX! Hodder runs in, into an EXPLODER! Omen returns, Castle dodges, blocks the boot and SAIDOS! Primal Fear regroups outside as fans fire up. “Bring me a Boy!” Brent runs in, Castle aims him and THROWS him at Omen! Then Castle has Brendan and THROWS him at Soriano! Brent returns, and Castle THROWS him at Hodder! And then he THROWS Brendan at Omen!
Brent’s back again, so Castle THROWS him at Soriano! Brendan is back, Castle THROWS him at Hodder! Fans fire up as Castle and the Boys regroup, DOUBLE BOY TOSS at Soriano! The Boys then send Soriano in for the Alabama Lift, and BANGARANG!! Cover, Castle & The Boys win!
Winners: Dalton Castle & The Boys, by pinfall (still ROH World Six Man Tag Team Champions)
There was no fear in The Peacock and his trusted twins, they took down Primal Fear with ease! Will they find bigger, stronger competition as they stick around AEW?
