Mitchell’s AEW Rampage Results & Report! (4/29/22)

Darby is on a Rampage!

AEW Rampage coverage

Rampage is whose house? We’re about to find out!

Darby Allin and Swerve Strickland know each other very well from even before AEW, but only one of them can move on into the Owen Hart Memorial!

  • Owen Hart Memorial Men’s Tournament Qualifier: Swerve Strickland VS Darby Allin w/ Sting; Darby wins and advances to the tournament.
  • Six Woman Tag: Jade Cargill, Red Velvet & Kiera Hogan w/ Mark Sterling VS Trish Adora, Willow Nightingale & Skye Blue; Cargill, Velvet & Kiera win.
  • Keith Lee VS Colten Gunn w/ Austin Gunn; Keith wins.
  • ROH World Television Championship: Samoa Joe VS Trent Berretta w/ Best Friends; Joe wins and retains the title.

Owen Hart Memorial Men’s Tournament Qualifier: Swerve Strickland VS Darby Allin w/ Sting!

Two rivals who just love beating the hell out of each other meet again here in AEW to open Rampage! Will Fridays still be Swerve’s House? Or will the Relentless One make this his tournament?

The bell rings and fans are fired up as the two stare down. They circle, fans chant, “Whose House?” “Swerve’s House!” Swerve and Darby tie up, break, then stare down again. They go again, Swerve waistlocks but Darby tries to pry free. Swerve lifts, Darby kicks and flails, then shoots to switch. Swerve backs Darby into a corner, Darby lets go, but Darby avoids the heel kick! Swerve grins and fans fire up as the two reset. Darby and Swerve circle, feel things out, knuckle lock, but Darby rolls to wrangle Swerve. Swerve tries to use his legs but Darby grinds him down. Swerve fights up, fans duel, and Darby wrenches.

Swerve chinbars but Darby still WRINGS Swerve out. Darby keeps on the arm, rolls and wrenches to another wristlock, then whips. Swerve reverses but Darby springboards to FLYING ARM-DRAG! But Swerve handsprings through! Fans fire up as the two stand off. Darby rushes in, Swerve rolls him to Eddy Gordo Headscissor! And then arm-drag! Darby turns that into a chinlock! Darby grinds Swerve down but Swerve endures! Fans rally and Swerve fights up. Darby grinds, Swerve pops out the back to hammerlock, only for Darby to switch it onto Swerve. They go around and around, Swerve throws Darby out!

Swerve builds speed to handspring up and over, but Darby gets around him! THROWBACK STUNNER! Darby puts Swerve into the ring and covers, TWO! Swerve bails out and gets to the ramp, but Darby builds speed and DIVES into a KNEE! Swerve shoots Darby outta the air, then drags him up. Darby’s dead weight and fans are fired up. Swerve watches Darby as he goes up to the apron. Darby manages to stand, but Swerve BOOTS him back down! The ref checks on Darby while Rampage goes picture in picture.

Swerve hops down to fetch Darby into the ring. Swerve covers, TWO! Darby is still in this but Swerve keeps his cool. Swerve claps for Sting, then drags Darby into an armlock. Darby throws body shots but Swerve whips Darby into a corner. Swerve back elbows then snapmares, and then goes up the corner to FALLING UPPERCUT! Cover, TWO! Darby crawls away but Swerve catches him to get an arm. Swerve has an over-the-shoulder armlock but Darby throws hands. Swerve just CLUBS Darby down! Darby gets to a corner, Rampage returns to single picture, and Swerve digs his boots in.

The ref counts, Swerve lets off at 3, but Darby has the leg! KNEEBAR! Swerve pries at the hold, SLAPS Darby, but Darby twists the foot! Swerve endures, pries at the hold, clubs at Darby’s legs, but Darby holds on. Fans rally, Swerve stands up to rain down fists! Darby lets go and Swerve drags Darby up with a wristlock, deadlift suplex! Cover, TWO! Fans fire up as Darby is still in this. Swerve drags Darby to a drop zone and goes up. KILL STOMPS miss as Darby dodges! Darby then runs in to CODE RED!! Cover, TWO!! Swerve survives and fans fire up again! Darby hurries up top while Swerve is still down, COFFIN DROP onto knees!

Darby writhes, Swerve aims, “Whose house?” “Swerve’s House!” HOUSE CALL!! Cover, ROPEBREAK!! Darby saves himself by mere inches! Swerve goes to the apron and he drags Darby up. Swerve suplexes Darby up, suplex to the floor!! Fans lose their minds as Swerve throws caution to the win, and fans fire up for “A E DUB! A E DUB!” Swerve drags Darby into the ring, but Ricky Starks stalks off commentary. But Sting stands in Starks’ way! Starks backs up, Swerve gets in the ring. Swerve drags Darby up, but Darby trips Swerve and hooks up the leg, LAST SUPPER! Darby wins!!

Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (advances to the tournament)

Starks still gets what he wanted in screwing Swerve out of the tournament! Darby is the fifth seed in the Owen Hart Cup, will he take over the tournament?

Shawn Spears speaks.

“MJF gave the world a little clue as to who your opponent next week is gonna be, War Piggy. I’d like to add one more. This man is seven feet tall. Now I’ve been in the ring with this guy, and he is bigger. He is faster, War Piggy, he is more dangerous than you. This is a guy who has a lot of PP: Pinnacle Potential.” Wardlow had PP until he bit the hand that fed him, so now Wardlow is all alone. The Chair Man is no longer watching Wardlow’s back, the Chair Man is no longer leading Wardlow to victory. And next week, War Piggy goes to slaughter. Spears is laughing now, but will even a seven foot tall mystery man fall to the Powerbomb Symphony?

Chris Jericho names another Sports Entertainer of the Week.

And this week, it’s HIMSELF! He’s awarding himself this award for beating down Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz, and then throwing a fireball into Kingston’s face! Anyone else want a fireball? He is a wizard! But then Santana appears and he SLAPS the headset off Jericho! Santana beats Jericho down while Ortiz is security. AEW security runs out and has Santana and Ortiz stop. Jericho crawls away and has them evict Santana & Ortiz, but will things only escalate from here?

Six Woman Tag: Jade Cargill, Red Velvet & Kiera Hogan w/ Mark Sterling VS Trish Adora, Willow Nightingale & Skye Blue!

The still undefeated AEW TBS Champion and her new friends are making their trios debut, forming “The Baddies.” Will #ThatBitchShow be unstoppable even in 3v3? Or will one of Jade’s baddy buddies cost her that spotless record?

The trios sort out, there are baddies in the crowd cheering on Jade as she starts against Skye. They circle, Jade doesn’t even take Skye seriously. Jade tags out to Velvet and they circle. Velvet sucker punches Willow but Skye gets her with haymakers! Skye runs but Velvet dropkicks her down! Velvet drags Skye up, bumps her off buckles and fires off shots! Velvet lets off to stomp away, but lets off again. Velvet digs her boot in while doing the splits, and she mocks the fans crying. Tag to Kiera, she runs around the world to BOOT WASH! The Baddies are fired up as Kiera runs and steps up, only to miss the leg drop!

SUPERKICK from Skye! Cover, but Velvet breaks it! Willow gets in to POUNCE Velvet! That’s payback for the Owen Hart qualifier! Skye gets Kiera up, they both superkick but they both block. They both let the other go, but then Kiera ROUNDHOUSES! Skye tags in Adora, but Kiera sweeps the legs! Kiera runs, step up LEG DROP! Kiera says this is done now, and she tags in Jade. Jade swaggers and talks trash, Kiera feeds Adora to a BOOT! Jade talks more trash, drags Adora up, but Skye and Willow get in! Velvet SPEARS Skye while Kiera SHOTGUNS Willow! Kiera and Velvet clear out Willow and Skye, Adora gets JADED! Cover, The Baddies win!

Winners: Jade Cargill, Red Velvet & Kiera Hogan, by pinfall

The Baddies in the ring fan themselves off, the baddies in the crowd cheer them on. Will these three be so bad that they dominate the whole Women’s Division?

Tony Schiavone interviews Darby and Swerve.

After their great opener, Darby advances, but Darby says he didn’t want that match to go that way. If Swerve wants to go another round, they can. Swerve says it ain’t no thing. It wasn’t Darby who did that, that’s not his style. If anything, Swerve’s gonna root for Darby in the Owen Hart Tournament. Do it for the Northwest. Starks just went and pissed Swerve off now. Swerve will call his man, Keith, and they’ll get this done.

Keith Lee VS Colten Gunn w/ Austin Gunn!

Speaking of the Limitless One, he’s going up against one Son of a Gunn. But will this #AssBoy have no choice but to #BaskInHisGlory?

The bell rings and fans sing “Oh~ Bask in His Glory~!” Colten tunes it out and he flexes. They tie up, Keith holds Colten back and then powers him towards a corner. Colten actually starts to push Keith back, but then Keith puts him in a corner. Keith lets off cleanly and waits on Colten. Colten shoves Keith but fans taunt the “ASS~ BOYS!” Keith rushes in but Colten gets around to CLUB and ROCK Keith! Colten puts Keith in a corner, CHOPS him, then gloats. Keith scowls and TOSSES Colten into the corner for fast hands! And then the GRIZZLY MAGNUM! Colten falls over and fans fire up while Rampage goes picture in picture.

Keith stalks Colten to another corner, stands him up, and GRIZZLY- NO! Colten dodges! But Keith is after him, whips him to a corner, and Colten goes up, only to get caught! Keith gives Colten SNAKE EYES and then runs, only for Austin to swipe at him. Keith glares, Austin wants forgiveness but Keith grabs him by the head! Colten rushes in but Keith elbows him away. The ref is busy with Colten, Austin HOTSHOTS Keith and Colten DROPKICKS Keith out of the ring! Colten distracts the ref and Austin fires off forearms! But Keith TOSSES Austin into railing! Colten goes out after Keith with forearms and body shots!

Colten smacks Keith off the apron, then brings him around to haul into the ring. That’s real tricky so Austin helps out. Colten gets in, he drags Keith up, and he bumps Keith off buckles. Colten gloats but Keith GRIZZLY MAGNUMS! Colten hits back, stomps away on Keith, but lets up as the ref counts. Colten stomps some more, then gloats and flexes. Colten comes back to stomp Keith more, and then he hugs with Austin. Colten stomps Keith again as Rampage goes to break.

Rampage returns and Keith runs at Colten in the corner, but Colten moves and Keith hits buckles. Colten runs in at Keith, but gets caught with one hand! Keith SLAMS Colten down, then runs to run Colten over! And again! Keith SWATS a clothesline and ROCKS Colten with a forearm. Fans chant, “Keith Lee! WOOP WOOP!” Keith has Colten in a corner, to TOSS him corner to corner! Colten tumbles and Austin says Keith has done enough. Keith runs in, Austin saves Colten from the splash but takes the hit himself! Colten runs in to SPLASH Keith! Colten reels Keith in, “SUCK IT!” Colten runs, but the Famouser slides off Keith’s back!

Keith pops Colten up, Colten fights with fists, and he gets free! Colten gets the underhook, but Keith’s too big for that! Keith pops Colten up to a fireman’s carry, BIG BANG CATASTROPHE!! Cover, Keith wins!

Winner: Keith Lee, by pinfall

Keith just crushed Colten, will he more than ready to absolutely annihilate Team Taz?

Tony Schiavone interviews The Hardy Boyz.

Tony notes that Jeff is set to take on Bobby Fish in an Owen Hart Memorial qualifier. Jeff says first and foremost, he and Matt love and miss Owen Hart, they thank him for the memories. It is an honor to get into this tournament. Jeff steps into “the solo dimension” for the first time in AEW! When he beats Fish, imagine the possibilities. Dream matches like Jeff VS Darby! Matt says it could be Jeff VS Samoa Joe! And Joe’s defending his ROH World TV title up next! And there’s also Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly, Fish’s friends. Matt tells Fish that there is no way in hell Fish qualifies! That’d mean him beating Jeff and that ain’t happening! Fish is eating a Swanton Bomb!

The Undisputed Elite speak.

Nick Jackson mocks the Jeff Hardy dance and Matt asks if the camera is live. Brandon says yes, but Nick says it’s NOT Brandon, it’s LANDON! They’re all on the same page now and Adam Cole loves it. They can also all agree that the moron, Jeff Hardy, is ridiculous. He makes no sense. He is NOT beating Bobby Fish. Fish wins so that THREE members of the UE will be in the Owen Hart Cup. Then Cole guaran-damn-tees one of them winning the whole thing. Fish says that’s right, because Jeff “Hardly,” your days are numbered. And that… is elite. Good one. Now cut the camera, Brandon, ya idiot.

Will the Undisputed Elite have the mathematical advantage going into the tournament? Or will Brother Nero make sure the Infamous One is rendered OBSOLETE?

Danhausen heads to the ring.

He grumbles and mumbles but then introduces himself. “Yes, hello, it is I, Danhausen. Very nice, very evil, so on and so forth.” And he is here to decimate, eviscerate and annihilate the one they call HOOK. Hook has been menacing about for far too long with no repercussions. So Danhausen is here to take him out. Without further ado, SEND HOOK! And Hook is sent! Hook goes to the ring, fists taped and hair all over the place. He gets right in Danhausen’s face, and Danhausen regrets this immediately. Maybe they can do this another time? No, we’re doing this now. HOOK SPEAKS again!

But wait, here comes Mark Sterling. He wants everyone to hold on. Do people actually want to see these two fight? “YES!” Really? “YES!” Well he doesn’t. And then TONY NESE attacks from outta nowhere! He DECKS Hook and fires off on Danhausen! Nese throws off his tracksuit jacket, Sterling holds Hook but Hook THROWS Sterling! Nese rushes in, into REDRUM! Nese rakes eyes to get free, but runs into the EL CAMINO! Nese and Sterling bail out, and Danhausen CURSES them! Sterling and Nese don’t care, they rush the apron. But then Hook stands up behind Danhausen, and they think better of it.

Danhausen says he has powers, and he believes those powers are scaring Nese off. Fans chant “HOOKHAUSEN!” and Danhausen pats Hook on the shoulder. Danhausen offers a handshake? Hook grabs Danhausen by his collar, but then pushes him away. Hook doesn’t want friends, he wants to fight. Will he get that out of the Premier Athlete soon enough?

Backstage interview with the Gunn Club.

Lexi Nair is with Austin & Colten after that loss to Keith Lee. But Austin says that’s no loss. That was Colten’s first singles match in AEW and he went toe-to-toe with Keith Lee. If anything, it proves the Gunn Club can do anything. Singles, doubles, trios, quadruples! And they can rap. The Acclaimed walk in and Caster says no, they can’t. But Colten, great effort. Good positivity, and when these four team up, they never lose. Everyone loves The Acclaimed and Ass- Oh, sorry. Gunn Club. Wanna scissor with ’em? Colten says he and Austin gotta talk to dad. Fine, talk to daddy. They’ll be back. Lexi, you wanna- No.

Mercedes Martinez speaks.

“May 4th, Baltimore, Maryland, the home of Ring of Honor. Everyone thinks that I’m just a fluke. That an ‘interim’ women’s champion doesn’t mean anything. And Deonna. Oh, Deonna. There is no such thing as a fluke champion. I am a true champion. And come May, the OG Badass is looking to become the undisputed and only true Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion.” Will Mercedes be the one left standing after a fight with the Virtuosa?

Next week’s Rampage is at an early start time!

And as such, it’s got a fiery tag match between Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter VS Toni Storm & Ruby Soho! With the Owen Hart Women’s Tournament on the horizon, who gets crucial momentum going into the first round?

Mark Henry speaks to tonight’s main eventers.

He starts with Joe. ROH has familiar roots here in Philadelphia. Does Joe have a message for Trent? Oh, he does. And it’s simple. They are in Philly, the birthplace of ROH, where titles like the ROH World TV Championship were fought and bled for. Tonight, Trent steps into that world against Joe, and Joe guarantees that while Trent has convinced himself he’ll make it out alive, Joe will make Trent pass out before he ever walks out. Yikes. Joe is big and scary and Trent looks like the underdog. Everyone might think Joe is gonna kill Trent, but newsflash: he won’t. Chuck Taylor says new champion!

Well there’s been enough talk. It’s time for the main event! Will the Samoan Submission Machine squeeze the life out of #JustTrent? Or will Trent finally taste some Ring of Honor gold?

ROH World Television Championship: Samoa Joe VS Trent Berretta w/ Best Friends!

Joining commentary for this one is the voice of ROH, Ian Riccaboni! He is honored to be part of this here in ROH’s birthplace, and a city where Joe’s had a lot of success. Then Bobby Cruz gives us the introductions as everyone makes their entrances. The belt is raised, the Code of Honor is upheld, and in the City of Brotherly Love, we might just see someone pass out!

The two circle, tie up, and Joe wrenches to a wristlock. Trent rolls, wrenches back, then headlocks. Joe powers out then runs Trent over hard! Fans fire up and Trent sits up in a daze. Trent gets to a corner, Joe JABS and JABS and JABS! The ref counts, Joe elbows Trent down then lets off. Joe drags Trent up to CHOP him in the corner, then DECK him with a forearm. Joe whips corner to corner, runs in and back body blocks, to PELE! Trent falls out of the ring and fans rally as Joe builds speed! Joe goes out but Trent dodges, to SLIDING KNEE from the apron! Joe staggers back up, Trent ASAI MOONSAULTS!

Trent overshoots but still manages to take Joe down! The ring count is climbing and Trent gets up to get Joe in at 4 of 10. Joe bails right back out but Trent pursues. Trent CHOPS Joe, follows him around the way, and then CHOPS him again! Joe snarls but Trent reels him in, TORNADO- NO! Joe powers out and BOOTS Trent down! Fans fire up as Rampage goes picture in picture.

Joe drags Trent up, puts him in the ring, and then follows him. Joe circles around Trent, brings him up, and CHOPS him off his feet. Trent sits up in a daze but Joe CLUBS him then CHOPS him on the back! Joe PENALTY KICKS Trent down, then drops an elbow! Cover, TWO! Chuck and Orange Cassidy coach Trent, he hits Joe back but Joe CHOPS him down. Joe clamps on a neck wrench and Trent endures the twist. Joe leans on the hold but Trent still endures. Trent fights up, throws elbows, and gets free, only to run into Joe’s back elbow! Joe watches Trent flounder, then mocks Cassidy by putting his hands in his “pockets.”

Joe drags Trent up, HEADBUTTS him, then kicks him. Joe drags Trent up by an ear, CHOPS him off his feet again, then paces around. Fans rally up and Joe hears them. Joe brings Trent up to CHOP him down again! Joe then clamps onto an arm and a chinbar to grind Trent down. Trent endures again, fights up and throws more body shots, but Joe throws Trent down! Joe stomps Trent, CHOPS him, then eggs him on. Rampage returns to single picture and fans rally as Joe reels Trent in. Trent flops down but Joe gets him back up to POWER- NO! Trent slips out and DROPKICKS Joe out of the ring!

Trent WRECKS Joe with a dropkick! Joe staggers, Trent climbs a corner to SUPER CROSSBODY! Direct hit and both men crash down! The ring count is climbing, Chuck rallies the fans and Trent winces as he gets up. Trent gets in at 5 of 10, Joe follows at 6. Trent CHOPS Joe, throws a forearm, then CHOPS again. Another forearm, another CHOP, but Joe swings. Trent ducks to get a SAIDO! Cassidy flexes for Trent and Trent runs in to CLOBBER Joe to the corner! Trent then hits the TORNADO DDT! Cover, TWO! Joe is still in this but Trent snarls. Trent brings Joe up but Joe holds ropes to deny the Alabama lift!

Joe POWERBOMBS Trent down! High stack, TWO, but into the STF! Trent is caught but he reaches out. Joe shifts to just a CROSSFACE! Trent still endures, reaches out with a leg and gets the ROPEBREAK! Joe lets go at 4 and fans fire up. Joe SLAPS Trent! Trent gets up but Joe pie faces him. Joe eggs Trent on, pie faces more, but Trent SLAPS back! Joe LARIATS Trent down! Joe then puts Trent in the corner and up top! Joe tucks Trent in, MUSCLE- NO! SUNSET FLIP! High stack, TWO!! Trent runs, BUSAIKU KNEE! Joe staggers to a corner, Trent runs in, but into the URENAGE! Joe then gets the COQUINA CLUTCH!! Trent is OUT, Joe wins!!

Winner: Samoa Joe, by submission (still ROH World Television Championship)

Joe is still the 30th man to hold this belt, but he and Trent still show respect with the Code of Honor. Schiavone appears to interview Joe, and says that was quite the match. Joe thanks Schiavone for that, and is glad to be here celebrating in Philadelphia. But wait, here come Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh! Singh throws off that suit jacket and he leads the way down the ramp. But then Best Friends stand in his way? Cassidy steps up to Singh, and puts his hands in his pockets! He unleashes the shin kicks, only for Lethal to CLOBBER him! Sonjay brawls with Trent and Singh sends Chuck into steel steps!

Lethal goes for Joe and they brawl in the ring! They go all around with those fast hands but Joe gets the edge! Referees, security and producers try to stop this, Joe and Lethal still want after each other! They get loose and the brawl is on again! When and where will it end between former mentor and student?

My Thoughts:

Another great episode for AEW here. Great opener with Swerve VS Darby, and pretty good story overlapping. Starks of course costs Swerve to keep things going between them. Keith and Colten had a great match, and Austin after had a point that for his first singles match, Colten did great. Acclaimed wanting to team up with them in an 8 Man situation is interesting. Didn’t feel like either side is turning, just tension between Heel factions. Good promos from the Hardys and the Undisputed Elite to plug Jeff VS Fish, and that match is going to be great. I feel like maybe Jeff will win, because it’d be too easy if all the former Undisputed Era boys get in.

Good promo from Spears, even though it was obvious MJF called Big Cass/W. Morrissey. Good bit of Jericho making himself Sports Entertainer of the Week, and great appearance from Santana & Ortiz to beat Jericho up. Good promo from Mercedes to hype up the ROH Women’s World Championship match. Good segment out of Danhausen, Hook, Nese and Sterling. I didn’t think the face-to-face would be interrupted but it was a good Heel move from Nese. I could see Danhausen being in Hook’s corner when he faces Nese just to keep us waiting on when Danhausen finally wrestles in AEW.

And of course, great stuff out of the ROH World Television Championship. Great to have Ian Riccaboni on commentary to further represent ROH, and of course just an awesome match out of Joe VS Trent. Joe retains because naturally we were getting Lethal and company attacking. I kinda want a Six Man Tag of Best Friends VS Lethal, Sonjay & Singh. It’ll be an easy way to give Singh his in-ring debut, especially with Cassidy being mostly comedy. Lethal’s team can win, then Lethal and Joe can have another brawl to set up a TV championship match. They could even have an ROH title or two featured at Double or Nothing, as Lethal VS Joe is a big time match.

My Score: 8.7/10

Mitchell’s AEW Dark Results & Report! (1/31/23)

Orlando stays Dark!

Universal Studios is still the AEW Dark Arena!

As they prepare to go after the AEW World Trios Championships, AR Fox & Top Flight reunite to take on The Wingmen: Peter Avalon, Ryan Nemeth & Cezar Bononi!

  • Six Man Tag: AR Fox & Top Flight VS The Wingmen; Fox & Top Flight win.
  • Red Velvet VS Sofia Castillo; Velvet wins.
  • Zack Clayton VS Fulton; Clayton wins.
  • Brock Anderson & Brian Pillman Jr. w/ Arn Anderson VS Rosario Grillo & Dean Alexander; Anderson & Pillman win.
  • Skye Blue VS Renee Michelle; Skye wins.
  • Shane Taylor Promotions VS Mr. G & Dante Casanova; Shane Taylor Promotions wins.
  • Yuka Sakazaki VS Avery Breaux; Yuka wins.
  • The Workhorsemen VS Liam Gray & Adrian Alanis; The Workhorsemen win.
  • Angelico w/ Serpentico & Luther VS Konosuke Takeshita; Konosuke wins.

A solid line-up, and I like that we’re getting to see Brock Anderson & Brian Pillman Jr. in action together after a backstage promo on Elevation not too long ago. Not sure what the team name is but two second generation stars together is a logical combination. Angelico VS Konosuke, that is going to be a great match, but I give the win to Konosuke. Red Velvet is in action again after also being on Elevation, she’s definitely building momentum towards taking on Jade Cargill for Jade’s 50th match. And good to see Shane Taylor Promotions in action here. They’ll be a strong part of the ROH Tag Team Division, even after having lost to Keith Lee after Swerve abandoned Keith.

And good to see AR Fox & Top Flight in action, and against The Wingmen. For one, good to see Avalon, Nemeth & Bononi teaming all together again. And this will be a good match to build momentum for Fox & Flight.

Mitchell’s AEW Dark: Elevation Results & Report! (1/30/23)

Lexington gets Elevated!

Can All Heart overcome the Swiss Superman?

The ROH World Championship returns to AEW Dark: Elevation, and Claudio Castagnoli takes on Blake Christian. Will All Heart survive the Swiss Superman?

  • Red Velvet VS Billie Starkz; Velvet wins.
  • Alex Reynolds & John Silver VS The Workhorsemen; Reynolds & Silver win.
  • Rush w/ Jose the Assistant VS Brian Pillman Jr; Rush wins.
  • Athena & Diamante VS Skye Blue & Yuka Sakazaki; Skye & Yuka win.
  • Top Flight VS Ari Daivari & Tony Nese w/ Mark Sterling; Top Flight wins.
  • The Kings of the Black Throne w/ Julia Hart VS Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum; The Kings of the Black Throne win.
  • ROH World Championship: Claudio Castagnoli VS Blake Christian; Claudio wins.

A pretty good line-up, and I think Athena will end up in a program for her ROH Women’s Championship coming out of that tag match. Good tune-up match for Top Flight going into their AEW World Trios Championship program with the Elite, that should be a good win. And Blake Christian is going places. He’s had good stints on NJPW Strong, he’s in ROH and AEW, he’s going to give Claudio a great match. Claudio will still win, this is mostly to get things going towards Supercard of Honor on March 31st, but Blake could easily find himself going for a midcard title like the ROH Pure Championship or AEW All-Atlantic Championship.
