The Best of the World is back and the fans in Charleston, West Virginia are fired up to see him! Especially since he has THE AEW World Championship belt on his shoulder. No stage diving this time, though, he’s being a bit more careful this time. Punk goes to the ring and gets the mic as fans chant his name. “I’m trying to put my tough guy game face on before I came out here, and you guys just ruined it all by making me smile. I don’t got the prettiest smile. What I do have is the prettiest belt! Haven’t been here in some time, and I’ve got some business to attend to. Some things very, very important. Some things not so important.
“I want to get the not so important things outta the way. Where are we? Where are wee tonight? There’s somebody from around these parts that I would like to challenge to a rematch and I would like to do it right here, right now, for you beautiful people.” Fans cheer for that, they wanna see it, too! Punk sits down cross-legged and tells Hangman Adam Page, “You want that rematch, you got it right here, right now. Let’s go!” Fans are fired up for the “Cowboy Sh*t” that could go down, but where is he? Punk checks his mic, but no Hangman, and fans boo. Punk says that’s why this isn’t important. That isn’t Cowboy Sh*t, that’s Coward Sh*t!
“A little bit of advice that I suggest you take: The apology must as loud and as public as the disrespect!” And if anyone else has a problem with THE CHAMPION, Punk suggests they come on down! “Everyone wants to be the champ until it’s time to do champ sh*t!” Fans agree with that as they chant Punk’s name. “Ladies and gentlemen, I understand that Jon Moxley’s got a lot of fans. And he can be number one in your heart, but he’s not number one in this ring. I am THE AEW Champion!!” Punk knows what it takes to be the best, to talk a big game and say you’re the best, and to breathe that into existence.
He also knows what it is like to lose. Punk has lost big, but Moxley has always been number two, there has always been someone who has Mox’s number, and it’s Punk! Boo if you want, but let him know when he’s lying. “Jon Moxley is the third best guy in his own group, and that seems to be a reoccurring theme in his career.” Fans are stunned to hear that. Punk says, “That doesn’t make him a bad guy, but that doesn’t make him the best either.” Punk is the best, but yes, Mox has been carrying the torch when Punk broke his foot. Moxley talks about breaking bones and drinking blood, but between the two of them, the only one’s who has broken bones is Punk! It was his own, but still!
So again, tell Punk when he’s telling lies. Moxley has been INTERIM AEW Champion. Look that word up, it means “temporary.” And Punk is willing to test himself against Moxley, but is Moxley willing to test himself against his best friends? Let’s talk about those friends. Mox’s best friend is the third best Eddie that Punk’s ever faced. And the second best Kingston! These people aren’t number one at anything! Tell Punk when he’s telling a lie! Fans have to admit, he’s got a point. Punk says he’s missed the fans, and he’s missed competing in the ring. He’s been wanting to defend this title on a PPV, and that will be All Out, September 4th, Chicago, Illinois!
Punk is ready to test his belt against Moxley’s “number two with a bullet.” Punk is willing to test his foot! The funny thing is, heading into Chicago, Moxley isn’t even the first Jon/John that Punk beats in Chicago for a title! And he’s certainly not number one there, either. But say his name enough and here he comes! Jon Moxley is heading to the ring but Punk taunts Moxley over the time he takes to make it to the ring. Punk does “mat angels” as Moxley and his AEW World Championship belt go through the crowd. Moxley does make it to ringside, he does get a mic and he does get in the ring to stand there across from Punk.
Fans cheer for Moxley, and Moxley says, “Look out, ladies and gentlemen, CM Punk is dropping pipe bombs! Doing what he does best: writing checks with his mouth that his body can’t cash.” Moxley makes sure to point at Punk’s foot with that. And Moxley tells Punk he’s living in a fantasy land! In Punk’s mind, he’s the best wrestler in the world. But most times, Punk’s not even the best wrestler in catering. Punk thinks his mic in his hand is power. But this is the real world, and that’s just a microphone. And all the words Punk says into it don’t mean sh*t. That belt on Punk’s shoulder don’t mean sh*t. Punk says, “Who’s living in a fantasy world now?”
Moxley says, “To be fair, right now, this belt don’t mean sh*t. Not until I beat you!” Moxley says he IS the heart and soul of AEW, and every time they call him “Interim,” he thinks of Punk and that makes him sick! Punks says, “Good! You can be the ‘heart and soul’, I’ll bet he dollars and the cents!” Both men throw the belts down and inch a bit closer. Punk asks Mox if he’s done talking. Mox says we all know Punk only came to AEW because he ran out of money, so don’t give Mox that. “Being the best is about heart and soul and guts and fighting spirit, and we both know that you ran out of fighting spirit a long time ago.”
Now both men are face to face! Mox says if Punk wants to prove him wrong, then do something about it. But Mox doesn’t think Punk’s gonna do sh*t. Punk says they have a match at the PPV, which Punk will soundly defeat Moxley in. But if Punk touches Moxley now, Punk’s afraid Moxley will just start bleeding all over him. They get forehead to forehead, Moxley puts his hands back behind him to give Punk an open shot. Punk pushes Moxley away, but Moxley comes back with a peck on the cheek! AND A SLAP! The haymakers start flying and fans are fired up for it! Moxley and Punk scrap, security and officials rush in, and fans boo!
Moxley and Punk are separated but Moxley throws off his shirt! Punk eggs Moxley on, security is a wall between them, and fans boo more. Moxley tosses his belt out of the ring, then eggs Punk on! Punk tries to get after Moxley, and Moxley LEAPS onto the pile! The scrum continues but is quickly broken up. Fans want to “LET THEM FIGHT!” and Moxley gets a chair! Moxley tosses it into the ring, and Punk uses it to take a seat! Punk eggs Mox on again, and Mox slides in! They make contact, but the security pulls them apart again! Fans boo some more, but Moxley finds an opening on the other side of the ring! The brawl is back on!
Wait, security just pulls them apart again. Fans boo as the ebb and flow just keeps going, but it seems we’ll all have to wait until Sunday, September 4th. What happens when Punk and Moxley go all out to determine an UNDISPUTED AEW World Champion?
Backstage interview with “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs.
Tony Schiavone is with Hobbs and references what we saw last week concerning himself, Ricky Starks and The Factory. Schiavone thought Starks & Hobbs were friends, so why did Hobbs betray Starks? Hobbs says he doesn’t need friends! “Ricky Starks, you proved to the whole world, your true colors came out, you told the world that you were okay with losing. I’m not okay with losing, Ricky! For two years, you got to walk around here and parade around like you’re some God’s gift to this business. You got to hide behind Powerhouse Hobbs’ back, because you knew I would get the job done.”
Hobbs was hired for one thing: make sure Starks stayed champion. And Starks couldn’t do it! Now Ricky, Hobbs not only breaks backs, he also breaks necks. And as far as The Factory goes, Hobbs has something for them, too! Will the Powerhouse turn into a juggernaut and demolish everyone in his way?

The American Dragon fought hard against Red Death, but was screwed over by The Wizard! Sounds like Game of Thrones, but it’s pro-wrestling! Or as the Jericho Appreciation Society calls it, “Sports Entertainment.” However, Bryan dares Garcia to look inside himself and decide: Is he the Best Technical Sports Entertainer? Or is he the Best Technical Pro-Wrestler? With Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat as the special guest timekeeper, will the Dragonslayer slay the American Dragon? Or will he JOIN the American Dragon in the Blackpool Combat Club?
But first, Chris Jericho joins commentary! Fans sing Judas for him as he joins Excalibur, Taz, and Good ol’ JR, then Bryan makes his entrance. Bryan shakes hands with Steamboat, then Garcia makes his entrance, complete with a new Dragonslayer logo on his tron. The bell rings on the first fall and fans rally up. The two circle, feel out the grapple, and Bryan shoots in to get a leg. Bryan trips Garcia but Garcia fights back and trips Bryan. Garcia goes for a leg, but Bryan trips him back and rains down forearms! Garcia guards but Bryan moves around. Garcia slips out, back mounts, but Bryan stands up.
Garcia is a backpack but Bryan snapmares and rolls! It’s a rough landing but Garcia holds on, then he drags Bryan around. Bryan slips out, throws body shots from above, then has a KNEEBAR! Garcia moves around to stand up, and he has a HEEL HOOK! Bryan endures, stomps at Garcia’s face but Garcia gives those back! They stomp and kick each other back and forth, but Bryan puts on a HEEL HOOK of his own! Fans cheer this technical exchange and the two end up in the ropes! The ref counts, the two let each other go, but then Garcia BOOTS Bryan into a corner! Garcia eggs Bryan on while fans boo.
Bryan stands up, they reset, tie up, and Garcia puts Bryan in a corner. Fans rally for Bryan as Garcia smothers him, but the ref counts. Garcia lets off to SLAP Bryan! Bryan keeps cool as AEW goes picture in picture.
Garcia taunts Bryan but Bryan puts his dukes up. Bryan KICKS Garcia’s leg, then eggs Garcia on. Garcia returns but Bryan KICKS the leg again! They tie up, Bryan SLAPS Garcia now, and Garcia wobbles a bit. Garcia throws some testing jabs but Bryan shrugs those off. Bryan throws body shots, then SMACKS Garcia! Bryan suplexes high and hard, covers, TWO! Bryan drags Garcia around by a leg, turns him over and hooks up the legs. Bryan reaches for the arms, brings them back, and then up and up and ROMERO SPECIAL! Garcia endures being held overhead, then Bryan sets him down to fishhook the nose!
The ref reprimands but Bryan throws haymakers onto Garcia’s head, then ROCKS him with a forearm! Garcia falls forward, out of the leg hooks, and fans rally up. Bryan paces, watches Garcia get up, and then KICKS him in the chest! Garcia is right up to CHOP! Bryan smirks and Garcia eggs him on. Bryan CHOPS back, so Garcia CHOPS again. Bryan smirks, dusts that off, and fans rally up more. Bryan and Garcia talk some trash, Garcia SLAPS Bryan! Bryan squats and Garcia kicks at him. Garcia eggs Bryan on, Bryan snarls and stands back up. Bryan stares Garcia down as AEW returns to single picture, and the forearms fire off! Bryan KICKS away on Garcia in the corner!
Fans chant “YES! YES! YES!” with every shot! Bryan goes corner to corner to DROPKICK! Bryan puts Garcia up top, climbs up after him, then SUPER STEINERS, but Garcia rolls it to a sunset flip! TWO! Bryan EuroUppers, Garcia CHOPS, but Bryan EuroUppers again! Garcia CHOPS, Bryan EuroUppers, Garcia kicks low then EuroUppers back. Garcia whips Bryan to a corner, Bryan goes up and over, then keeps moving! Bryan ducks and dodges but Garcia spins him for a BUTTERFLY SUPLEX into the ARMBAR! Bryan sits up, fans rally up, and Bryan clasps hands. Bryan fights but Garcia pushes him down!
Bryan rolls through, leg capture and BACK SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO!! Garcia escapes but Bryan goes for the legs! Bryan ties the legs up, rains down forearms, and then hooks an arm! REGAL STRETCH!! Bryan makes his mentor proud while Garcia endures to make his mentor proud! Garcia crawls, reaches out, ROPEBREAK! Bryan lets off, Garcia bails out, and Bryan builds speed! Bryan WRECKS Garcia with a dropkick! Then he goes to the apron to FLYING- NO, Garcia dodges the knee to SAIDO to the floor! Fans are torn as Garcia stands back up. Garcia drags Bryan up with a facelock and he puts Bryan in the ring.
Fans rally and Garcia looms over Bryan. Garcia sits Bryan up for HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOWS! That’s a very BCC move! Fans boo but Jericho loves it! Garcia gets the legs, SHARP- NO, Bryan spins it through! Bryan kicks Garcia down into the TRIANGLE HOLD! Garcia is caught but he stands up. Bryan throws hands but Garcia hooks Bryan up! PILEDRIVER!! Omoplata and DRAGON SLEEPER!!! Bryan is fading, the fans rally, but he’s OUT! That’s the first fall to Garcia!
Bryan: 0; Garcia: 1
The ref checks if Bryan is okay to continue, but Garcia says this is just the first fall! This isn’t over until he has his second! The ref starts a standing count, if Bryan can’t answer it, he’s lost! Garcia backs off to watch Bryan, and we’re past 5 of 10! Bryan crawls and stands at 8, so Garcia CLOBBERS him! Garcia stomps a mudhole while fans boo! Garcia lets off at the ref’s count to soak up the heat, then he storms back up on Bryan. Garcia stands Bryan up, EuroUppers, and CHOPS! Bryan looks dazed but Garcia brings him up to CHOP again! Garcia soaks up more heat while fans boo and he goes corner to corner. Garcia runs in to SHOTGUN Bryan, and AEW goes to break!
AEW returns and Garcia is stomping away on Bryan at the ropes! Fans boo Garcia and the ref counts, but Garcia stands on Bryan’s head! Garcia lets off and the ref checks Bryan. Bryan’s busted open from a DDT to bare concrete that happened during the break, but it isn’t too bad yet. Garcia drags Bryan from the ropes, kicks him more, and fans rally up. Bryan huffs and puffs as Garcia keeps kicking, and fans fire up! Bryan KICKS and KICKS and KICKS Garcia’s leg, but Garcia WRINGS the arm! Then omoplata, and the DRAGON SLEEPER! Bryan fights up, so Garcia INVERTED SUPLEXES him, and still has the DRAGON SLEEPER!
Bryan endures so Garcia rains down HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOWS! Fans boo as the DRAGON SLEEPER is back on! But Bryan rolls forward to make it a cover, and he gets the fall!!

And now we’re all tied up! Garcia can’t believe it but the fans are thunderous! Now it’s sudden death! And Garcia hammers away on Bryan’s bloody forehead! Jericho blames the ref for making a mistake but Garcia just soaks up the heat. Bryan is in a corner, Garcia runs corner to corner, but Bryan dodges! Garcia’s dropkick misses and Garcia ends up in a Tree of Woe! Bryan KICKS away on Garcia! Bryan sits Garcia up, climbs up after him, then rains down HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOWS! Fans chant “YES! YES! YES!” and then Bryan brings Garcia up. Garcia resists, but Bryan SPIDER GERMAN SUPLEXES him away!
Bryan sits up and fans are thunderous! Bryan adjusts, leaps, and MISSILE DROPKICKS Garcia all the way to the other corner! Garcia bails out as fans fire up again. Bryan kips up and fans are loving it! Bryan snarls and builds speed to DIVE! Direct hit at the corner! Bryan drags Garcia up to KICK and KICK and KICK! Bryan POSTS Garcia! And then YANKS Garcia into the post! And again! But Garcia YANKS Bryan! Bryan YANKS Garcia! Garcia YANKS Bryan, and both men fall over! Fans fire up and rally behind Bryan. Bryan and Garcia stir as the ring count climbs. The count reaches 5 of 10 but Garcia gets in at 7! Bryan flops at 8, but he’s back up and in at 9!
Fans are thunderous as now Garcia is also busted open! AEW goes picture in picture as the ref checks both men. They’re both okay to continue, even though Garcia’s a bit dazed. Garcia crawls forward after Bryan, talks trash on him, but Bryan just shouts at Garcia back! Garcia SLAPS Bryan but Bryan eggs him on. Garcia CHOPS, but Bryan still eggs him on! Fans rally, Garcia CHOPS, but Bryan just sits back! Garcia CHOPS but Bryan just does an ab crunch! Garcia runs to PENALTY KICK! Bryan does another ab crunch! PENALTY KICK! Ab crunch! Garcia CHOPS and CHOPS and CHOPS but Bryan doesn’t fall over!
Garcia runs again, into a HUGE forearm from Bryan! Garcia goes down and fans fire up as Bryan stays send. Bryan flips Garcia off, that’s a JAS thing! Garcia sit sup, and Bryan KICKS him! And KICKS him! And KICKS, but Garcia eggs Bryan on now! So Bryan KICKS and KICKS and KICKS! Garcia SWATS one, then CLOBBERS Bryan from behind! Garcia gest the legs, steps through, SHARPSHOOTER! Bryan endures the “Dragon Tamer” as AEW returns to single picture! And Garcia sits back deep! Bryan endures, hooks an arm, and drags Garcia out of his hold into the omoplata! Garcia moves around, rolls through, but Bryan stays hooked on!
Bryan reaches and finishes the LEBELL LOCK! Garcia rolls it back to a cover, TWO!! Garcia choke grips, Bryan breaks free, but Garcia SLAPS him again! Bryan staggers, Garcia runs in at the corner, DROPKICK! Bryan stays up to SLAP Garcia! ROLLING- NO, Garcia ducks to BUSAIKU KNEE!! Garcia steals something of Bryan’s! Knuckle lock cover, TWO!! Garcia and Bryan are in a test of strength as Bryan sits up, and they go forehead to bloody forehead! Garcia ROCKS Bryan, and Bryan ROCKS Garcia, but the knuckle locks don’t break! Another round of forearms back and forth, Garcia gets the edge and Bryan drops to his knees!
Fans rally as the knuckle locks stay clamped on! Bryan fights to his feet and he ROCKS Garcia over and over. Garcia hits back, the forearms keep going, and now Garcia leans onto Bryan. Bryan stands him up to ROCK him again and again and again! Garcia is down and Bryan rains down the shots! Bryan gets the wrists, but Garcia monkey flips! To steal the DRAGON STOMPS! Jericho is loving this but fans boo! Garcia lets off but Bryan trips him up! Bryan HEADBUTTS Garcia again and again, then gives him DRAGON STOMPS! Bryan lets go of one arm to focus on the stomps! Then the TRIANGLE, with HAMMERING ELBOWS!!
Garcia endures, fights to his feet, and he deadlifts Bryan! But Bryan drags him back down and throws more elbows! Garcia fires hands and the fans are loving the scrap! Bryan uses Garcia’s haymakers to turn the move around into the LEBELL LOCK!! Garcia endures, reaches out, Jericho cheers him on but fans want him to tap! Bryan catches the arm to HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOW!! LEBELL LOCK!!! Garcia is OUT, the ref calls it for Bryan!!
Winner: Bryan Danielson, by submission, 2-1
Sports Entertainer or Pro-Wrestler, those are just labels, because this was a battle of two fighters! But in the end, Garcia falls and Bryan is the winner! And yet, Garcia’s fighting spirit keeps him reaching for Bryan. Bryan and the fans applaud for the heart the Dragonslayer has, but did what Bryan say last week get through to Garcia? Is Garcia going to be BCC? Bryan offers Garcia a hand but Garcia stands up on his own. Jericho leaves commentary to CLOBBER Bryan! Jericho rains down fists because he’s the sore loser here! But Garcia pushes Jericho away?! Fans fire up for that, but Jericho is confused and furious!
Jericho asks Garcia why he just did that. Is he thinking of changing? Garcia slaps the accusing finger away! Jericho points his other finger, because he wants Garcia to think long and hard about what he does next. Fans chant “You’re a Wrestler!” at Garcia, but will he listen to them? Or will he still follow the Jericho Appreciation Society?
Backstage interview with Private Party and Swerve In Our Glory.
Schiavone notes that this Friday on Rampage, it will be these two teams fighting over the AEW World Tag Team Championships. Swerve says “You’re welcome, by the way.” Marq Quen asks, “For what? Last week, you guys disrespected us, talking about how we’re not ranked. In case you haven’t noticed, we’re number five!” Isiah Kassidy makes sure Swerve knows it by holding up five fingers. Keith Lee steps forward and Private Party steps back. Schiavone steps in to remind them all of the No Physicality Agreement.
Swerve says Private Party’s been here how long and this is the closest they’ve gotten to the tag titles? “Winning ain’t nothing new to Swerve In Our Glory, Keith Lee and myself. You need to respect your elders, because you could learn a thing or two from us.” Keith adds, “And after you Swerve In Our Glory, then you can walk your happy asses back down the ladder.” Kassidy says Keith embarrassed him once. It won’t happen again. And on top of that, Private Party takes these titles back to New York. FACTS. BLAOW! See you Friday, baby. Kassidy & Quen are confident now, but will they be popping bottles or sharing ice packs after Rampage?

But wait! Moxley attacks the Premier Athlete on the stage! And then he CLOBBERS Smart Mark! Then Moxley storms to the ring and grabs the mic! “C M PUNK! I’ve been waiting too damn long for you to come back, I’m sick of waiting! You wanna unify these belts? I say let’s do it right now! Let’s get this sh*t over with!” Fans are ready for that, too! Moxley throws off his hoodie and waits, and here comes Punk! But officials and security try to stop him before he gets to ringside! Moxley rushes out to meet him at the ramp! Fans fire up as they brawl but again they are separated! Moxley returns to the ring, Punk pursues, and the security swarm in again!
Fans boo as Punk is dragged away from the ring. The BCC’s Claudio and Yuta even show up to hold Moxley back. As much as Moxley and Punk want this fight, everyone else in AEW is doing their best to delay this until All Out! Moxley storms off through the crowd and the BCC follow, will this grudge even wait for September?
Backstage interview with the Jericho Appreciation Society.
Schiavone has Matthew Menard, Angelo Parker, and Chris Jericho himself, and brings up what we saw at the end of Bryan VS Garcia. Is there possibly some dissention in the ranks? Jericho says he is giving “Danny” a pass for tonight, that was hell of a match. Maybe after getting dropped on his head, he’s a little fuzzy and didn’t realize what he was doing putting his hands on Jericho. Maybe Garcia is wavering back and forth between Bryan and Jericho, but we need to know for sure. Next week, live on Dynamite, Jericho wants to talk with Garcia, face to face, in the ring, man to man! Whose side is Garcia on? Garcia better make the right choice.
But then Ricky Steamboat walks in! He tells Jericho that he’s watched Garcia. And that young kid is coming into his own. Jericho agrees, but then Steamboat says Garcia doesn’t need Jericho or Menard & Parker. Jericho is the same guy Steamboat knew 14, 15 years ago. The same hair, same get up and go. If anyone should mentor Garcia, Steamboat says Bryan is the better choice. Oh, really? Is that what you think, Steamboat? Typical goody-two-shoes Steamboat! Jericho hasn’t liked Steamboat for those same 15 years, so he better keeps his hands off Jericho and stay out of his business! Jericho storms off, and Parker tells Steamboat to stay out of their business!
Parker tells Steamboat to look at him when he’s talking! Stay out of- BOP! Steamboat’s still got a hard right! Will that teach the JAS not to anger The Dragon?

Austin & Colten lost in the Dumpster Match but they did beat #Beardhausen. And yet, Daddy Ass is still not happy with how his sons are competing. Will they finally get Papa Gunn’s approval? Or will Brian Pillman Jr. & Griff Garrison expose them as the Ass Boys they are?
The teams sort out and Austin starts with the Ivy League MVP. Fans taunt the “ASS~ BOYS!” and Griff adds on. Austin frowns as he circles with Griff, but then he SUCKER PUNCHES BPJ! Then he CLOBBERS Griff! Colten tags in, he CLOBBES Griff, then LARIATS him! Colten reels Griff up, and hits the COLT 45!! Cover, Gunn Club wins!!

Quick on the draw and that gets Austin & Colten the win! Fans boo but Billy gets the mic. “Hold on, hold on. That right there is what I’ve been trying to tell you for the past couple weeks. That’s what you have to do. That’s what gets things done. Just to know that I am super proud of you. I have been hard on you, but I am proud of you.” And Billy says he has done a lot of really great things in his career. But the one thing that has been able to work is these two right here, that is a fact. The Gunns hug it out and fans boo. But then here comes Stokely Hathaway! Charleston loves seeing Jungle Jack Perry and his pyro! JB goes to the ring and gets a mic while fans sing along with his theme song. Fans chant his name and JB says, “Thank you, thank you. A couple weeks ago, I came out here with a special T-shirt on. And it actually got me in a lot of trouble. I was asked, ‘Please, never wear that shirt on television again ever.'” Fans boo the censorship and JB agrees, but it was fair. “But boy, oh boy, did that shirt hit the nail on the head. Because for weeks now, I have tried to hit Christian Cage every chance I got. I tried to hit him with my hands, I tried to hit him with a chair, I even tried to hit him with a car.”
And Christian has done absolutely nothing in return! Like, JB personally, he’d never just take that, but that’s him. So the way JB sees it, either he can continue to chase Christian as long as he has to until he gets his hands on Christian, which he will. Or… Christian can man up and face JB at ALL OUT!! Fans like the sound of that! Unless, of course, that shirt was right, and Christian Cage is just too big of a- Wait! Here comes Captain Charisma after all! Christian says hold on a second here! “So Jungle Boy, you’re challenging me to a match at All Out, huh? Well, my answer… is NO!” Fans boo because they knew he’d say that!
Christian says this isn’t for why they all think. We saw last week that Luchasaurus plowed through security, and then got himself suspended for headbutting an official in the head! This is getting out of hand! Christian wants JB to know that at the end of the day, Christian is proud of him. JB is confident now, speaking for himself, when a little over a year ago, it was like he was from right here in Charleston and couldn’t formulate a sentence. Fans boo again, but Christian says he had to go home after last week and had to do some reflecting. So this is what Christian came up with. Christian says he’s just going to get in the ring so he can talk to JB more directly.
Christian says obviously, frustrations boiled over when JB lost the tag titles. They both said some things and did some things that neither of them really meant. JB got a bit personal with Christian, but he understands. Now listen, hold on. Christian doesn’t wanna fight JB, he doesn’t wanna wrestle JB, he wants to fix this. He wants to fix this, Jack. He wants to go on another run like they had, and Christian promises to take JB to “The Promised Land.” JB doesn’t get what Christian is getting at, and fans chant, “BULL SH*T!” Christian says these people have never accomplished anything in their lives so they don’t know what Christian’s talking about.

Christian offers a hug, but fans boo. JB thinks about it, asks if Christian means all that, and Christian nods. JB TACKLES Christian! And rains down fists! Then CLOBBERS him again! For more fists! Christian scrambles away but can’t get away! JB drags him in and CLOBBERS him again! Christian shoves JB away and crawls out of the ring but JB pursues! LOW BLOW!! Christian RAMS JB into railing! Captain Charisma shouts, “I hate your guts, you piece of crap!”
Christian drags JB up to SMACK off the apron, then brings him around to whip, but JB reverses! Christian hits steel steps hard! JB drags him up to dribble him off the steps! JB says Christian is not his family, or his friend! He stands up on the steps, stands on Christian’s arm, and then STMOPS it!! Fans fire up for JB showing his edge, and he tells Christian is a POS! He dribbles Christian against steps more, but referees and security rush out! They drag JB off Christian, will Christian even be able to wrestle JB at this point?

Cash Wheeler says last week, we saw the return of “7 Star FTR” to AEW and they stood and fought side-by-side with the War Dog. Make no mistake, Wardlow doesn’t need help, he didn’t ask for it, but there was no way in hell FTR was going to let Wardlow get jumped by those three clowns. So if Lethal and company have a problem with that, come find them. If they want a Trios match, all they had to do is ask. Nobody messes with The Pinnacle. And Wardlow tells “big man” Satnam Singh, “I don’t care how big you are. Anybody and everybody gets powerbomb’d.”
Dax Harwood says that at one time, Jay Lethal was the best wrestler in the world. Some may still do that today. But Dax will say this much. In his mind, today on August 17th, “Dax the Ax” is the new best pro-wrestler on this planet, and he says that with as much humility as he can muster up! The AEW Women’s World Champion, and Storm’s tag team partner, Thunder Rosa is watching this in the back, both to support a friend and also to keep an eye on her potential challenger. The bell rings, Storm and King circle, then tie up. Fans rally, the two go around, and King waistlocks to SLAM Storm! But Storm goes after a leg! King spins through, rolls Storm up, ONE! Storm Oklahoma Rolls, TWO! Storm headlocks but King endures the grind. King pries the hold, but Storm cranks it on! King headlocks back, hits a takeover, and she grinds Storm into the mat. Fans rally for Storm and she fights up to power out.
Storm runs, King ducks but Storm redirects herself! King dodges the basement dropkick, then drop toeholds Storm! King runs, but Storm avoids the basement dropkick to hit the basement dropkick! Fans fire up and Storm runs in at the corner, only for King to put on the apron! King elbows Storm, then hops up and up to FLYING KNEE Storm down! Fans fire up and King builds speed, but Storm avoids the wrecking ball dropkick! Storm then uses the apron for the TORNADO- NO! King blocks the DDT to RAM Storm into the apron! And then RAM her into railing! Fans fire up while Storm falls over, and AEW goes picture in picture.
Storm writhes while the ring count starts and King stomps Storm. King puts Storm in at 4 of 10, has her in a corner, and stomps her down. The ref counts, King drags Storm up to CHOP back down! King backs off but says she’ll do that one more time. King stands Storm up to CHOP her again! Storm staggers away to another corner and King storms up on her. King stands Storm up but Storm ducks the chop to CHOP ack! And again, and again, and again! Storm fires up, runs in, but King goes up and over to mule kick! And then NORTHERN LIGHTS! Cover, TWO! Storm is still in this but King keeps her cool.
King sits Storm up, hooks her up in a grounded abdominal stretch, and even adds a top wristlock. Storm endures and fans rally up, but King SLAPS Storm in the side! And again! And then rains down forearms! King drags Storm up, whips her to a corner, and run sin, but into a BOOT! Storm elbows King then goes up the corner! King hurries to ROCK Storm first! And CLUB her down onto the top rope! King hammers away but lets off as the ref counts! King goes corner to corner, to TOP SHELF KNEE! Storm is still stuck up top and King turns her around. King climbs up behind Storm to CLUB her down, but Storm throws elbows!
King CLUBS Storm then stands her up, for a SUPER BACK- CROSSBODY!! Storm turns it just in time but that landing is still a rough one! Both women are down and a standing count begins. Fans rally up, AEW returns to single picture, and Storm stands at 5 of 10. Storm throws counter punches on King, then forearm after forearm after forearm! King wobbles, Storm kicks low and FISHERMAN SUPLEXES! Bridging cover, TWO! It was good but it wasn’t perfect. Storm drags King up but King throws her away to SOBAT! King runs, BOOTS Storm, and Storm goes to a corner. King runs in corner to corner but blocks a boot!

Ari Daivari says, “The more gold around your waist, the more green in your bank account.” But Chuck Taylor calls them out. The Trustbusters think they can win the Trios Tournament going against Best Friends? Trent says that trio is only together because Ari pays them. These guys are real-life best friends! But Sonny Kiss says no one cares about Orange Cassidy or his dorky friends. Trent says their unit is strong, while Trustbusters are weak AF. Ari says this Friday, the Trustbusters take one step closer to becoming the inaugural AEW World Trios Champions! Best Friends put their hands in, Trios titles on three. One, two, three, RAMPTRIO- Wait. Trios Tournament.

To make their trio complete, Andrade and Rush bring in Rush’s own brother, Dragon Lee! However, last we knew, Matt & Nick Jackson were at a loss for who would be their partner. Hangman Page turned them down so that he could support The Dark Order, and The Undisputed Elite cut ties with them completely, so who do the Bucks have left?
Brandon Cutler does follow the Bucks out there, but that’s always part of the entrance since he’s vlogging for them. Is the cold spray supplying cameraman their partner by default? He’s unzipping his tracksuit jacket and he tells the ring announcer to read this note. Justin Roberts unfolds the full page and says, “And now… He has held frankly an unbelievable amount of singles titles.” WAIT! Can it be?! “He is a two-time NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Champion, and two-time KOD Six Man Tag Team Champion.
“He had the longest reign of 346 days as AEW World Champion. He is a PWI Top 500 #1 ranked wrestler, Wrestling Observer Wrestler of the Year, and Sports Illustrated Wrestler of the Year. While he sometimes uses the airport in NOOORTH~ CAROLINA~, his only go-to candy bar is always the Charleston Chew. He weighed in at 224 pounds to wrestle in his first match tonight in 277 days. The trios sort out and fans are already thunderous! They chant “Welcome Back!” for Omega, but Nick starts against Dragon Lee. The two circle, Lee shakes Omega’s hand to show respect, but Matt chooses not to. Nick and Lee shake hands, fans rally up for Lee but Andrade is upset that he showed respect. Lee and Nick circle, tie up with knuckle locks, and then Lee knees low! Lee CLUBS Nick, runs then runs Nick over! Things speed up, Nick hurdles and Lee leaps, but Nick knuckle locks and CHOPS! Nick goes up and up to “LUCHA LIBRE~” FLYING ARM-DRAG! Fans fire up and even Omega applauds.
Nick tags Matt and The Bucks whip Lee corner to corner. Nick runs in to forearm smash, then he and Matt BULLDOG DROPKICK COMBO! Andrade gets in but he gets kicks. Matt gives Nick a boost to RANA Andrade away! Rush gets in but Matt dropkicks him down! Fans fire up and Matt drags Lee up. Matt wrenches Lee and wristlocks, and Omega reaches out! Fans fire up and Matt tags Omega in! Fans are thunderous already as Omega springboards to AX HANDLE! Omega’s first move in 10 months and everyone loves it! Omega wrenches Lee’s arm, wristlocks it, and fans chant for “KENNY! KENNY!”
Omega CHOPS Lee, brings him around, and CHOPS again! Omega bumps Lee off buckles, climbs up top and has the fans join in for the fists! The fans count all the way to 10, and Omega hops off! Fans fire up and Omega storms back in to wrench and fireman’s carry. Fans chant “You Still Got It’! as Omega marches around! “YOU! CAN’T! ESCAPE!” ROLLING SENTON, but he’s still rusty there. Tag to Nick, who then tags to Matt, and the Bucks bring Lee up to double whip. Matt drop toeholds Lee into a GUTBUSTER from Nick, and Omega runs to KOTARO KRUSHER GUTBUSTER COMBO! Then Matt runs in, ROLLING NECKBREAKER BACKBREAKER COMBO!
Fans fire up but Rush shouts to his brother, Lee. Matt drags Lee up, bumps him off buckles, then throws body shots and haymakers! Tag to Omega, he drags Lee up to ROCK him with haymakers. Omega CLUBS Lee, headlocks him, and put shim in the corner to CHOP him! And CHOP again! Omega brings Lee out but Lee fires forearm sand knees low! Tag to Andrade and Andrade pushes Omega. El Idolo wants to test himself against, as Don Callis says so often, “The God of Pro-Wrestling!” Omega likes that, and they circle. But then Jose distracts Omega on the apron! The ref tells Jose to get down, but Rush runs in to SUCKER PUNCH Omega!
Fans boo as LFI stomp away on Omega! Andrade eggs on the Bucks then tattles on them to the ref! The ref keeps the Bucks back while AEW goes picture in picture.
Andrade soaks up the heat, then kicks Omega to a neutral corner. Andrade whips Omega corner to corner hard, and Omega bounces off buckles! Andrade mockingly applauds, then he drags Omega up with a facelock. Tag to Rush and they mug Omega. Rush snapmares Omega, runs and basement dropkicks! Rush clamps on a chinlock but Omega gets the ROPEBREAK right away. Rush lets off, to stomp Omega down! Rush drags Omega to the LFI corner and Lee tags in. Lee goes up to AX HANDLE Omega! Andrade rushes to BLAST the Bucks while Lee wrenches, kicks, wrenches and kicks Omega again and again.
Lee wristlocks, KICKS and then grinds Omega down while the rest of his team whip the Bucks into railing! Lee has the arm in an almost Fujiwara Armbar but Omega endures. Lee then shifts to a CROSSFACE! Rush SUPERKICKS Cutler! Omega endures the crossface so Lee lets him go to stomp him down. Fans rally but Lee drags Omega into a motorcycle stretch. Omega endures, Rush ROCKS Matt by the ramp, and Lee lets go to drop an elbow! Rush holds up one of the Trios Championship belts, let’s hope he’s not jinxing his team. Lee drags Omega to the LFI corner and tags in Andrade. They mug Omega again then Andrade CHOKES Omega on the ropes!
The ref counts, Rush adds his boot to the mix, but the ref just reprimands them both! Andrade and Rush let off at 4, and Andrade soaks up the heat from the fans. The Polar Express gets going, another NORTHERN LIGHTS, then Rush runs in! Matt gets him, DOUBLE- NO, Lee & Rush CLUB away on Matt to stop the double, to then double suplex back. But Nick saves Matt, and the Bucks go to double suplex Rush & Lee! But Andrade stops that! LFI sets up but then Omega CLUBS Andrade! The Elite TRIPLE SUPLEX LFI!! Fans are thunderous and Nick takes aim. He goes up and up and ESCALARAS LFI down!
Fans declare “This is Awesome!” as Nick puts Lee in the ring. Nick whips Lee to ropes but Lee holds ropes to stop himself. Nick rushes in but is put on the apron. Omega rushes in but into a BOOT! Lee runs but into a tilt-o-whirl BACKBREAKER! Nick springboards to DOUBLE STOMP on top! And Matt is up top to MACHO ELBOW! Cover, Andrade & Rush break it! Nick whips Andrade but Andrade reverses to send Nick out. Rush ROCKS Matt, then whips him corner to corner. Andrade whips Omega into the LFI corner while Rush runs in and SPLASHES Matt! Then Rush and Andrade sit Matt and Omega down.
Nick returns to ROCK Rush! And run in, into an OVERHEAD Belly2Belly into the Elite corner! Lee SWINGING DROPKICKS Omega, Andrade runs to give Matt CIEN KNEES! Andrade drags Matt out for Lee to cover, TWO!! Matt keeps The Elite in this but Lee drags Matt over. Tag to Andrade, he tags Rush, and then they double whip Matt to the open corner. Rush sends Lee in to clothesline! Andrade adds his own clothesline, then Rush adds a SPLASH! Snapmare and LFI TRIPLE BASEMENT DROPKICK! Andrade kicks Omega off the apron, goes back to Matt and stomps him down. Andrade stalks Matt, KNEES him into the corner then stomps him down! Andrade scrapes Matt out but Rush is there to RAM him into railing! Rush snapmares Matt to KICK him in the back! Andrade keeps the ref busy with Nick while Rush puts Matt in the ring. Cover, but Nick stomps it apart! The ref reprimands but Andrade rallies the fans. Andrade blows snot at Nick! Then he KNEES Matt into the open corner! Andrade stomps away on Matt while the ref has to keep Nick back. Andrade soaks up more heat, then he tags Lee.
Lee storms up on Matt to trip him and turn him for a HALF CRAB! Matt endures as Lee bends him back! Lee drags Matt away to tag in Rush, and they stomp away on Matt. Rush then BOOTS Omega back off the apron! Matt throws body shots but Rush HEADBUTTS Matt back down. Rush CHOPS Matt and he falls against ropes. Rush drags Matt up, tags Andrade, and they double whip Matt for Rush to POWERSLAM! Rush sits Matt up and Andrade runs to basement dropkick! Cover, TWO! Matt still toughs it out for his team! Andrade gets in, but Matt boots Lee into Andrade! Hot tag to Omega! Omega rallies on Andrade with big POLISH HAMMERS! But Andrade ducks the discus to kick low!
Andrade & Rush double whip, but Omega KICKS Rush away! Omega blocks a shot, but Andrade ducks, the ENZIGURI gets Rush! Omega ducks Andrade’s haymaker to SNAP DRAGON SUPLEX! SNAP DRAGON for Rush! Lee runs in, Omega dodges the knee to SNAP DRAGON Lee! Fans are thunderous after the hattrick, and Omega tags Nick back in. Nick tags Matt back in, the Bucks drag Andrade and Rush up. Omega whips Lee corner to corner, then Matt & Nick do the same, only for Andrade & Rush to reverse it! The Bucks do-si-do and SUPERKICK IN STEREO! Omega runs at Lee again, but Lee puts him on the apron! Nick runs in, Lee also puts him on the apron. But then Matt runs in, Lee BOOTS him away! Matt wobbles, Lee runs out to RAN- NO! Matt brings Lee up, BUCKLE BOMB DOUBLE GIRI COMBO!! Matt keeps moving, CANNONBALL DOUBLE GIRI!! Fans are thunderous as The Elite all coordinate, TRIPLE SUPERKICK!! Matt tags Omega back in, The Bucks aim at Rush and Andrade, STEREO PLANCHAS! Direct hit on both ends and Omega has Lee all to himself. Fans rally up and Omega kneels! The Terminator Drums are back after 10 months! Omega builds speed, but Lee trips him up! Lee stomps Omega, hauls him up, back suplex! But Omega lands on his feet! Omega throws Lee back out, resets, and the drums start again! Omega runs, but his legs are tiring out! Omega orders his legs to move, and he builds speed, only for Jose to trip him up! The ref missed it from a distraction by Rush, and Jose mocks Omega with finger guns.
Lee gets in while Rush & Andrade drag Omega out. They prop Omega up on top of the railing, Lee mocks the Terminator Drums and builds speed! Andrade holds the ropes open for Lee to DIVE, into the front row!! Fans lose their minds as Omega and Lee land at their feet! Rush & Andrade drag Omega up while helping Lee. “This is Awesome!” as Rush & Andrade help Omega and Lee into the ring. Lee covers, TWO!! Omega survives but Lee tags Andrade! Andrade stomps Omega, climbs up the corner, but fans boo. Nick anchors Andrade’s foot! Andrade elbows him away and Lee FLYING RANAS Nick to the floor!!
Andrade MOONSAULTS, Omega moves, but Andrade STANDING MOONSAULTS! Cover, TWO!! LFI is learning why Omega is a multiple time champion! Andrade drags Omega up, hammerlocks an arm, LA SOMBRA DDT!! Cover, Rush intercepts Matt, but Matt powers through to break the cover! And just in time! Andrade tags Lee, he hurries in after Omega, but Omega V-TRIGGERS!! Lee falls over, Omega staggers around, but he puts Lee on the ropes. Omega says “BANG!” and runs, to V-TRIGGER again!! Omega drags Lee back in, manages the Electric Chair, and the Bucks intercept Rush and Andrade! ONE WINGED ANGEL!!! Cover, THE ELITE WINS!!

As for LFI, Andrade helps Lee up, even loosening his mask for the sake of his head. Rush holds his brother’s hand up, showing respect to the valiant effort, only to feed Lee to LA SOMBRA!!! They SNATCH his mask away!! Does LFI not respect anyone?!
My Thoughts:
What an awesome episode for Dynamite, though they didn’t really go that strong into the Game of Thrones cross branding. But in some ways, that’s fine, because I’m pretty sure it would’ve been really cheesy. Punk opening with that promo was wild stuff. I won’t say that was a Heel turn, but he was definitely shooting hard with those references to his long storied WWE career. Moxley had a great response, they had a great confrontation and a great couple of brawls. Them having the Undisputed AEW World Championship match next week is wild, but also a big indicator there will be shenanigans at some point. They can’t not have the world title on All Out, so something’s gotta happen in Cleveland.
Bryan VS Garcia as the opening match was a great choice. It allowed the match to breathe, and it was all great. I almost thought the piledriver was legit rough, that was very close to flush. But Bryan winning makes a lot of sense given the story they’re building. I said it before that Garcia should leave the JAS to join BCC, and I’d love it if that happened at All Out. Jericho gave an ultimatum, so there’s gotta be a match that happens at the PPV for the fate of Garcia. And good promo from Private Party and Swerve In Our Glory. They’re going to have a very good match on Rampage, but I would think Swerve & Keith retain to get their first defense out of the way.
Good promo from Will Hobbs to call out Ricky Starks and The Factory, but it’d be really interesting if The Factory somehow becomes the reason Hobbs & Starks work out their differences and unite as a team again. Gunn Club squashing the Varsity Blonds was nuts, but it was even more nuts that they turned on Billy to join Stokely. The Acclaimed saving Billy and teaming up with him is pretty cool, and I wonder how these teams are going to escalate from that Dumpster Match. And good promos from Lethal’s group and the reunited Pinnacle, that is going to be a very good trios match.
Good promo from Best Friends and Trustbusters, especially the purposefully jumbled and messy team moment from Best Friends. I’m pretty sure Best Friends win on Rampage to move forward, as they made a good point about being a trio for longer, and built on friendship, not finances. Great promo from Death Triangle to call out The United Empire, and I got it scrambled in my head somehow that United Empire had to be here this week. They’re showing up next week, after the G1 Climax has resolved, and who knows if Ospreay will be coming in with momentum or not. But either way, Ospreay and Pac interacting is going to be awesome as each man has gold and we could get some great title feuds between them outside of the trios titles.
Very good promo segment from JB and Christian Cage, and Christian does have a point that JB has improved in terms of his confidence, and thereby improving his promo skills. Great little brawl, and even though JB smashed up Christian’s arm, I’m sure there will be something for this feud come All Out. We got a very good match from Storm and King, especially with this being King’s return to TV in almost half a year. Maybe King can join Athena against The Baddies while Kris Statlander is out, as King also has history with Red Velvet and the other Baddies. As for Storm, Storm VS Rosa is going to be a great match for All Out.
Then in the best thing of the night, it was everything with the Trios Tournament in the main event. Great to see Omega return to action, and I’m surprised he did as much as he did, especially that huge tope suicida spot at the railing. Though I suppose that was more on Lee than on Omega. Omega being the third man of course meant The Elite was going to win, but I had fully expected to see Death Triangle VS LFI in the next round. Rush turning on his own brother was a shocker, too, but I suppose Rush & Andrade are going to pile on the Heel heat for themselves. As for The Elite, I wonder if Cole & reDRagon cost them next round against whoever they face. That way, we get OG Elite VS Undisputed Era set up, and then I’m thinking Death Triangle VS Best Friends at All Out for the titles.

Two of these men teamed up just last night on ROH to win a Six Man Tag, but now they are opponents for the top title in AAA Lucha Libre. Meanwhile, La Faccion Ingobernable’s Prince of Silver and Gold is hungry for gold, will he take it away from Vikingo?
The bell rings and the three circle. Fans rally up for “LUCHA! LUCHA!” and “LUCHA LIBRE!” Dralistico swings, Vikingo dodges, but then Komander ducks Vikingo’s kick! Dralistico picks Vikingo up, throws him at Komander, but Komander throws Vikingo back. Vikingo wheelbarrows and arm-drags Dralistico but handsprings through. Vikingo dodges Komander now, shoves him to ropes, but Komander springboards! Vikingo gets under the crossbody, Komander tumbles and rolls but Dralistico jumps over, and then Vikingo jumps over Dralistico. Komander jumps over Vikingo, Dralistico jumps over Komander again, and they cycle continues!
Fans fire up for jump after jump, and then the three stand off. Dralistico raises the LFI fist and the three circle. Dralistico shoves the other two to then DOUBLE SHOTGUN! They bail out, Dralistico runs to FLY! Dralistico wipes both men out and fans fire up! Dralistico RAMS Komander into steel steps, and then he runs and RAMS Vikingo into railing! Fans cheer, Jose pats Dralistico on the shoulder and Dralistico goes back to BOOT Komander down. Dralistico puts Komander in, aims and springboards, to SWANTON! Cover, TWO! Dralistico wants a faster count but the ref says his count was fair.
Dralistico stomps Komander but fans taunt him. Dralistico bails out, tells the fans he’s done with them, but then they boo. Dralistico goes back to the ring, brings Komander up and tells everyone to hush. Dralistico CHOPS and Komander sits right down! Fans cheer as Dralistico says one more time, and he CHOPS, and CHOPS, and whips Komander. Komander reverses, runs in but is put on the apron. Dralistico swings, Komander blocks, and then Komander CHOPS! Komander slingshots up but Dralistico trips him! Dralistico ROCKS Komander, puts him in the ropes, and then goes up the corner.
Fans fire up as Dralistico WOE STOMPS Komander to the apron!! Fans fire up but then Vikingo gets in to go up and up and AIRHARA MOONSAULT! Direct hit on Dralistico and the fans are thunderous! Vikingo gets Dralistico and Komander in the ring, and then runs in at the corner. Dralistico stands up into the GAMANGIRI! Vikingo goes up the corner, to IMPLODER DRAGON RANA!! Fans fire up as Vikingo keeps Dralistico in the ring to then go up the ropes, OUTSIDE-IN PHOENIX SPLASH!! Cover, Komander breaks it! Fans fire up as this continues, they love “LUCHA! LUCHA!”
Vikingo GAMANGIRIS Dralistico, Komander adds a knee, and they double whip corner to corner. Vikingo sends Komander in but Dralistico TOSSES him out! Vikingo and Dralistico step up face to face, and Vikingo CHOPS! Dralistico CHOPS! Vikingo CHOPS again! Dralistico drops to a knee, and fans rally up. Vikingo throws forearms but Dralistico gives them back. Dralistico then SOBATS, KNEES, and runs, but into a SCREW HIGH KICK! Cover, TWO! Dralistico survives and Vikingo is a bit surprised. Fans continue to rally as Vikingo sees Komander on the apron. Vikingo storms up to throw forearms on Komander while Rampage goes picture in picture.
Vikingo GAMANGIRIS Komander down to the floor, then he fires forearms on Dralistico. Vikingo gets the fans fired up as he whips corner to corner. Dralistico reverses, runs in, but Vikingo puts him on the apron. Dralistico bumps Viking off buckles, ROUNDHOUSES him, then springboards, FLYING CODE BREAKER! Cover, TWO! Vikingo is still in this and Jose is upset. Dralistico drags Vikingo up, pushes him to ropes, then goes out to look under the ring. He brings out a TABLE! Jose helps Dralistico set that up at ringside, then Dralistico goes to fetch Vikingo. Komander is there but Dralistico ROCKS him and RAMS him into railing.
Dralistico CHOKES Vikingo against the railing, Rampage returns to single picture, and Dralistico puts Vikingo in the ring. Fans rally up, Dralistico runs to SUPERKICK Komander in the corner! Dralistico tranquilos on the top rope and fans are torn. Dralistico runs side to side again but Komander avoids the boot wash to GAMANGIRI! Komander springboards and double jumps, FLYING RANA!! Not the cleanest but fans fire up. Vikingo returns, Komander goes Matrix to then arm-drag Vikingo around! And dropkick! Fans fire up again as Vikingo brawls with Dralistico on the outside, and Komander climbs the far corner!

Suspended? The only ones who should be facing that is AEW itself! They backed Triple J into a corner and they came out swinging like any real fighters would! Lethal feels that there should be consequences for Aubrey Edwards! She’s been against Triple J since the dawn of time! Something needs to be done about her! Jeff adds that there’s been enough talk these past five days. Should the heat go on the promotion? Should the heat go on Briscoe? On Aubrey?
The reality of the fact is, these five people are walking, talking, fire-breathing heat! But wait, here comes Mark Briscoe! He wants everyone to simmer down. There will be no suspensions, he assures us that. Mark talked with Tony Khan, Tony promised them there would be no suspensions. Because if Triple J is suspended, then they can’t be here. Because if they aren’t here, then they can’t get the ass whooping they deserve! Lethal wants Mark to hold on but Mark tells Lethal to shut up! We ain’t talking about Lethal! We’re talking about Jeff and KAREN! What?! “We?” Who is “we?!” AUBREY EDWARDS!!
Triple J cannot believe this. Aubrey wants Karen? Then there’s nothing but air and opportunity between them. So then Aubrey CHOKES Karen!! Speaking of just last night on ROH, the Frontman of TMDK just defended this belt against Rocky Romero to prove a point to “Samoan Joseph” about who is the better, harder working Television Champion. And here he is again as part of this championship edition of Rampage! Will the ZSJ Show continue on into the summer block? Or will NJPW have some #LightsCameraAction?
The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see if Action gets his 15 minutes of fame!
The bell rings and we’re on the clock. The two circle, fans rally, feel things out, and ZSJ shoots in to waistlock and full nelson. Then he spins Action to a cravat, but Action pries at the hold. ZSJ facelocks now, Action wrenches out of that but ZSJ rolls and slips away. Fans cheer this opening exchange and the two reset. Action shoots in but ZSJ avoids him. They tie up with knuckle locks, ZSJ bridges back and wrenches around to then wrangle Action with a top wristlock. Fans cheer and ZSJ digs a knee into the shoulder. Action rolls, cartwheels, arm-drags, but fans cheer as ZSJ holds onto the wrist!
ZSJ twists the wrist, bends the fingers, drags Action up and wrenches the arm to wrangle him again. Action keeps his shoulders up, fans rally, and Action kips up to wrench and MONKEY FLIP! But ZSJ still holds onto the wrist! Fans rally, ZSJ bends the fingers and he tortures Action’s arm. Action fights up but ZSJ keeps after the fingers. ZSJ flexes but Action stands. Action spins, flips and arm-drags free! Action then CHOPS ZSJ, then knuckle locks to go up and up and FLYING ARM-DRAG! ZSJ flounders up, Action DROPKICKS him down! Action writhes while fans are torn over the savagery. ZSJ gets Action’s leg, steps over to get the arm, and he STOMPS the arm! “OI! TV Tekkers, mates!” ZSJ stalks Action to a corner, brings him up and UPPERCUTS! And UPPERCUTS! “This is Awesome!” and ZSJ knuckle locks to wrench Action. Action endures as ZSJ twists the wrist more, and then ZSJ KICKS a leg. Action stays up so ZSJ wrenches and twists the wrist. Action throws body shots and CHOPS! ZSJ jumps on to drag Action down to a DISARMER! Action endures, reaches out, and fans rally. Action kicks around, ZSJ pulls on the arm, but Action gets the ROPEBREAK!
ZSJ lets go in frustration but he storms up to drag Action up. ZSJ has a double wristlock but Action endures. Fans rally, ZSJ jumps on to body scissor! Action stays up but ZSJ keeps on that arm. But Tony Schiavone and Taz say not enough is said about just how talented Moriarty is for such a young wrestler. It looks like there’s been enough talk. It’s TIME for the main event!
ROH Pure Championship: Katsuyori Shibata VS Lee Moriarty!
The Wrestler defended this title just last night on ROH against his student, Alex “The Android” Coughlin. But now he faces #TAIGASTYLE, who has come close to snatching this title for his own not too long ago. Will tonight be Moriarty’s night? Or will Shibata make it through this Pure Wrestling Double Header?
The introductions are made, our judges are BJ Whitmer, Christopher Daniels & Jerry Lynn, and the belt is raised as we see who is truly THE Wrestler!
The bell rings and the clock is ticking on this 60 minute time limit. The two feel things out, Moriarty shoots in but Shibata holds him off with a sprawl. They clinch on the mat, Shibata slips to a waistlock and then a chinlock. Moriarty slips free but Shibata pushes him to a cover, ONE! Shibata wraps Moriarty up with his own arm and then goes for the armbar! Moriarty clasps hands but ends up in a TRIANGLE! Moriarty falls onto the ROPEBREAK, that is his first of three. Shibata even lets Moriarty know it as they reset. They knuckle lock, go shoulder to shoulder, clinch, and Moriarty tries for a leg.
Shibata powers Moriarty down, gets around to a waistlock, and they stand up. Moriarty pries the hold, fans cheer this technical exchange, but then Moriarty elbows free! Moriarty stomps Shibata into a corner, the ref counts, but Moriarty digs his boot in. Fans boo, but Shibata powers up to back Moriarty down! Shibata throws the foot down but Shibata ROCKS him! Moriarty runs to dropkick the legs out! Fans boo while Moriarty grits his teeth, and then the fans rally up for Shibata as Rampage goes picture in picture.
Moriarty mocks the applause as he stands over Shibata. Moriarty then says they can stop all that, and he grabs a leg to DDT the foot! Moriarty kips up, air guitars, and he ties up Shibata’s legs into a unique crisscross toehold. Then he sits with it for a modified stump puller! Shibata’s shoulders are down, Moriarty is practically stealing Darby Allin’s Last Supper! TWO as Shibata kicks out and Moriarty argues the count. Moriarty drags Shibata around, stomps a leg, then stomps it more and more before another DDT to the foot! Moriarty mocks the clapping from the fans, and then he drags Shibata around for a spinning toehold!

TWO as Shibata fights out of the “pancake.” Moriarty HAMMERS away on the back of Shibata’s head! Fans rally, Moriarty suplexes, but Shibata blocks! Shibata powers out but Moriarty kicks low!
Moriarty runs but into a kitchen sink knee! Fans rally, Shibata stomps his legs into working, and he storms up on Moriarty. Shibata drags Moriarty up to whip him to a corner and BOOT! And he fires off more forearms! The ref counts, Shibata runs corner to corner, HYDRAULIC DROPKICK! Fans fire up for that Shibata signature and he drags Moriarty up. HALF HATCH! Cover, TWO! Moriarty is still in this but Shibata clamps right on with a chinlock! Moriarty fights to the ROPEBREAK, but that’s his last! Shibata waistlocks. Moriarty switches to roll up, TWO! But Moriarty rolls with to get the BORDER CITY STRETCH!!

Just past nine minutes and Shibata finishes things off, but wait! Daniel Garcia is here! The Dragonslayer is a former ROH Pure Champion, and he’s walking out right to the ring! Garcia steps in, he swaggers up to Shibata, and it is clear this is what’s next for Shibata. Shibata raises the belt to signal his accepting the challenge, will The Wrestler put down this sports… enner-tay-ner?
My Thoughts:
A great Rampage here, though I’m surprised this wasn’t just a Battle of the Belts special. Excalibur said it himself on commentary in the main event, but it was great to start off with the epitome of lucha libre and finish on Strong Style technical wrestling. The AAA Mega Championship was a great opener, and was definitely another instance where I’m grateful we can pause things because they were going fast and furious. Or maybe at Flash speeds, since that’s a Warner Brothers movie they could plug. But as I figured going into this, all the champions retained, since none of these were AEW titles (directly, since ROH is a subsidiary of AEW now).
The NJPW World Television Championship continues to be a great title to watch because of the 15 minute time limit speeding things up. Likewise, ZSJ is always a great wrestler to watch, but so hard to write for cuz he has the biggest collection of named signature moves/holds of any wrestler I’ve seen. I had to double check what he was using to make Action tap, because I keep thinking things are Clarky Cat when they’re not Clarky Cat. ZSJ is setting a very high bar for this title, maybe he retains against Cobb at Dominion or maybe he loses, but it’s going to be hard for the second-ever NJPW World TV Champion to match what ZSJ has done.
Great first title defense for Willow and this title, she and Emi put on a great match. I wonder when Willow has her first defense on NJPW Strong, and who she’ll be facing. And we got a great Pure Championship match to finish, and I’m surprised it was so quick, even compared to the NJPW World TV Championship match. But great win for Shibata, I like that Garcia is stepping up, and that’s going to be an awesome match. I don’t know if they’re going to wait until Death Before Dishonor in July for that match, but knowing AEW and ROH, they can find a way to stretch things out. Especially with Garcia also busy being part of JAS and doing JAS things.

We’ll hear from dirty Don and turncoat Takeshita later, because right now, the BCC want to unleash #DeathJitsu on the ROH World Tag Team Champions & The Most Wanted! Will the Maniac, the Swiss Superman and the Decoder prove they’re ready for more violence?
Fans are fired up for the Lucha Bros & Bandido but the BCC isn’t amused. The trios sort out but then everyone starts shoving. Then they start brawling! The ref reprimands but the BCC have the luchadores on the ropes. They triple whip but the luchadores all reverse to TRIPLE SUPERKICK! Fans fire up with “CERO! MIEDO!” The luchadores build speed and TRIPLE DIVE into forearms and lariats! Moxley drags Penta out to the floor to throw him at the timekeeper’s area! Wheeler RAMS Bandido into steel steps! Claudio SNAKE EYES Fenix off the railing, then tosses him OVER the railing! Then he goes out after him in the crowd!
Moxley has an ANKLE LOCK on Penta, while Yuta throws Bandido into railing! And then more railing! The ref reprimands, but Moxley runs in, only for Penta to toss him into the crowd! Yuta puts Bandido in the ring, the bell finally sounds, and this is finally a match. Fans cheer as Yuta stomps Bandido and Claudio TOSSES Fenix back to ringside. Yuta drags Bandido up but Bandido throws body shots. Bandido clotheslines in the corner, whips him corner to corner, but Yuta goes up and over. Bandido runs back in but into a scoop SLAM! And Claudio clotheslines Fenix back up and over the railing!
Yuta SENTONS on Bandido, covers, TWO! Yuta scowls but Bryan is at least impressed with Yuta using a “fundamentally sound” cover. Yuta drags Bandido up, suplexes, but Bandido blocks! Fans rally up, Bandido suplexes Yuta! And holds him up! Uno! Dos! Tress! But then Mox rushes in! Fenix SUPERKICKS him first! Penta sees Claudio and SUPERKICKS him first! Then they SUPERKICK again! Bandido goes past TWENTY, and then the Lucha Brothers each grab Moxley and Claudio to hammerlock arms. DOUBLE SACRIFICE ARMBARS!! Bandido makes it to THIRTY but he isn’t done!!
Bandido makes it to FORTY, and then FIFTY!! Yuta’s head is almost as red as Bandido’s outfit as we get to SIXTY, and the SLAM!! Cover, TWO!?! Yuta survives and Bryan is proud of his student again. But tag to Penta, Fenix goes up, “CERO! MIEDO!” But Yuta slips free, only for Penta to SUPERKICK! TIGHTROPE WALK KICK! But Moxley CUTTERS Penta! Fenix SCREW HIGH KICKS Mox, but Claudio CLOBBERS Fenix! Penta SUPERKICKS, whips, Claudio reverses but Penta goes up and over, BACKSTABBER!! Fans are thunderous and Bryan has to admit, the lucha trio is incredible.
Penta crawls, as does Yuta, hot tag to Bandido! He HOTSHOTS Yuta, springboards but Yuta moves! Bandido FLOPS, then distracts the ref! Claudio & Moxley drag Bandido out to ASSISTED PILEDRIVER to the floor!! Bryan loves it while fans boo, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Yuta snap suplexes Bandido up and over, then drags Bandido back up. He fists bumps Claudio, puts Bandido in the ring, then tags Moxley. Moxley keeps Bandido from the corner with a facelock, but fans rally up. Bandido fights to his feet, only for Moxley to HALF HATCH! Moxley then tags Claudio in, they stomps Bandido, then Claudio grabs an arm to grind it down. Bandido endures, fights to the ROPEBREAK, but Claudio brings him up. Bandido throws body shots but Claudio chinbars to keep him from the corner. Claudio whips and CLOBBERS Bandido, then flexes. Tag to Moxley and the BCC stomp Bandido again.

Fenix ducks ‘n’ dodges, tiger feint rewind but Claudio dodges the heel kick!
Fenix still SUPERKICKS! Yuta runs in to BOOT Fenix! Fans foo, but Yuta runs in and only gets the buckles! JUMP SOBAT! Snapmare and tag to Penta! UNO, DOS, TRES! DOUBLE SUPERKICKS!! Claudio returns, Penta dodges and SLINGBLADES! Penta goes to a corner, Claudio runs in but Penta pops him up into a headstand, to SUPERKICK him down! Penta then uses Claudio to victory roll and jump, DDT for Moxley! Claudio LARIATS in return!! Fans fire up again as Claudio stirs. Claudio drags Penta back but Penta kicks him away. The fans are on Bandido’s side but Yuta ROCKS him! Yuta eggs Bandido on, and the forearms go back and forth again! Bryan says Yuta’s technique is the advantage, but Bandido starts using speed! The forearms keep going and the fans fire up! Yuta BITES Bandido’s forehead! Yuta runs, into a DROPKICK! Bandido throws off the shirt and fans are thunderous again! Backstage interview with The Elite.
Alex Marvez is with Hangman Page and the Young Bucks while Matt Jackson is having his foot taped up. Anarchy in the Arena II was perhaps one of the most brutal matches in AEW history, what is the status of Matt and the rest of the team three days later? Matt says a long time ago, he told Hangman that he brings out the good in them. Safe to say, after Sunday, the BCC bring out the worst in them. Never thought the day would come where Matt would try to melt the face of another man with an explosive sneaker, and alas, here we are.
Nick, a big bandage on his forehead, recounts Hangman saying that they are the heart, the soul and the spirit of AEW. Not one setback is gonna keep them down! Hangman says they are still standing, still swinging, and still breathing! To be a group that prides themselves on being the best, the BCC sure love to use numbers. But the truth is- Wait, in walks the Dark Order. They tell Hangman, “Good to see you.” Oh, did Matt hurt his foot? Silver says Hangman is with his new-old best friends, they should probably just go. Sorry about that. Hangman wants to respond to that, but Marvez has one more question.
It has been said, rumored, that Kenny Omega has left the country and gone home to Canada based on everything that’s happened the last few weeks. Any word on that? Hangman says Kenny is hurt, he is pissed, and yes he is out of the country, but he’s not in Canada. Hangman excuses himself to chase after The Dark Order, what is the status of that friendship? What is the status of The Cleaner after further betrayal by men he once called friends?
Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
Double or Nothing is in the rearview mirror, and he welcomes out two men who were very active that night, Jay White & Juice Robinson, Bullet Club Gold! The Switchblade & Rock Hard make their way out, and White says the money’s here! Schiavone says their issue with Ricky Starks seems never ending. They get in close and he says they attacked Starks backstage! White starts by saying that Double or Nothing was a great night. Fans cheer and White applauds, too. But White bets Starks feels he’s on top of the world after he eliminated Jay & Juice from the battle royal.
But as a reminder to everyone, especially to Ricky Starks, he’s not the International Champion. he lost that battle royal just like he lost to White. And Juice says that brings them to FTR! BCG wants to know, WHY, Dax & Cash, did you come to the aid of “sweet boy” Ricky? It doesn’t make sense! There’s no way FTR are friends with Ricky Starks, because we all know Ricky Starks ain’t got no friends! White says we also know FTR are “a couple of Southern boys,” so maybe they’re a little bit slow. And they look dumb, too, have you seen them? You heard them talk? They sound pretty dumb, too!
White just didn’t actually think they were dumb enough to get in the Bang Bang Gang’s business! But wait, here comes FTR! Dax & Cash are still AEW World Tag Team Champions after Mark Briscoe saw who were his real friends on Sunday night. The champs get in the ring but White uses Schiavone as a shield. Seems FTR are that dumb. Juice says keep this cordial. This isn’t them being dumb, they’re here to apologize! White isn’t so sure, but maybe Juice is on to something. Maybe they’re also here because they wanna join BULLET CLUB GOLD~! Yeah? Huh? White says FTR are ready to be some Gold members!
So do they wanna join the top shelf gunslingers? Top Shelf Top Guys! If they wanted to join, all they had to do was ask. Just make sure you do it politely. White holds out the mic to Dax, then drops it as he reaches out. Fans boo and Dax glares at White. But then Juice sucker punches Dax! FISTFUL O’ SILVER DOLLARS!! Cash TACKLES Juice, but White goes after Cash! The BCG mug Cash while Dax writhes, clutching his jaw! Juice drags Dax up, JUICE IS LOOSE!! “Take that!” White gets Cash for a BLADERUNNER!! “That’s what you get!!” But here comes Starks! Starks runs BCG off and grabs the mic.
“Hey you two cowards! I’m sick of you two every single week! So how about this? You keep that jabroni ass freak in the back, and you and me, Jay, we finish it next week on Dynamite! YOU PUNK ASS B*TCH!!” The Absolute throws out the ultimatum, will he and King Switch finally put an end to this?

The bell rings and Swerve bails out so Bill can’t get him. Fans boo but then Bill turns his attention to Trent. Fans fire up and Bill storms up on Trent. Trent slips away to not be cornered, then he CHOPS Bill! Bill scowls and dusts himself off. Bill storms up again, Trent slips away again and headlocks. Bill powers up but Trent holds on. Bill powers out, Trent ducks ‘n’ dodges and DIVES onto Swerve on the outside! Fans fire up as Trent puts Swerve in the ring saying “You’re turn!” He wants Bill to get at Swerve and Bill’s fine with that. Swerve wants Bill to hold on, but then he swings on Bill!
Bill blocks the punch, so Swerve kicks a leg. Swerve goes to whip but Bill blocks that, too! Bill whips, Swerve goes up and around and BOOTS Bill! Trent returns to CHOP! And CHOP! And CHOP! Bill just choke grips back! Bill BOOTS Swerve, then shoves Trent to a corner. Bill SPLASHES Swerve, SPLASHES Trent, and repeat! Bill clotheslines Swerve up and out! Trent ducks ‘n’ dodges but Bill FLAPJACKS Trent then BOOTS him down! Fans fire up with Bill while Dynamite goes picture in picture.

It’s been a long time coming, and this whole time, I was never really sure if I deserved it. Not sure if I was someone deserving of this moment. It just really shows me how much not only does this place mean to me, but how much I mean to AEW. It’s just so nice to physically hold something to feel like you deserve it for once. Not only am I gonna prove to everyone that they were right, but I’m gonna prove to myself that this is my time. And I’m gonna have the best damn title reign anyone’s ever seen.” But she’s already putting the title on the line, will her time be short?
Renee Paquette is on stage.
“Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome The Acclaimed & Daddy Ass.” Max Caster, Anthony Bowens & Billy Gunn are here, and Renee says that unfortunately, thing didn’t go their way in that AEW World Trios Championship match. They asked for this time, so the floor is theirs. Billy says Renee is right, things did not go quite the way they’d planned. But that’s okay! Because anyone can get beat at any given time. Billy’s biggest regret is that he let his guys down. Caster says that Billy shouldn’t blame himself. They win as a team and lose as a team. They won a lot as a trio, undefeated until facing House of Black.
And see, Caster is the best wrestler alive, Bowens is the Five Tool Player, and Billy is the legend! They ARE The Acclaimed, they are the People’s Choice. Bowens says that is right. And their goal remains the same. A few months ago, Acclaimed were screwed outta tag team gold. Fans boo that, but the Acclaimed want gold back! “And this man, this legend, after over 30 YEARS of giving his all to the business, of giving his all to each and every one of you, giving his all to us, this man deserves to hold gold one more time!” Fans love the sound of that! They chant for “DADDY ASS! DADDY ASS!”
Bowens says do not worry about it, Billy, because EVERYONE loves The Acclaimed! So the goal remains the same, and the three SCISSOR FINGER~! Will they cut down the House of Black one way or another? Or will the House always win?

And… Konosuke Takeshita.” Fans boo as Callis & Takeshita walk their way out to no music, but with highlights of Callis helping the BCC cheat the Elite. Callis & Takeshita go to the ring to join Schiavone, and Schiavone says, “Sunday night, Double or Nothing, not so sure. We talked to Bryan Danielson, whose side are you on? Whose side are you with? One thing we know for sure, you apparently have yourself a new protégé.” Callis grins but fans boo, and Callis says he sincerely hopes that such boos are for Kenny Omega! No, they’re for Callis.

Fans boo but Jose says they know it’s true. Rush is too dangerous to be on TV, so he isn’t here right now. Salud, Rush. But where are the fans when they need LFI? When LFI is looking for chances and they get NONE? But they’re gonna start taking opportunities! Show this perro what LFI is about! Dralistico & Vance mug Hook, but here comes JUNGLE BOY! Jack Perry has helped Hook out before, and he’s here again, with a chair! JB JAMS Dralistico, JAMS Vance, and then he SMACKS them both down! Jose sneaks up, but JB sees him first. Renee is with Saraya, Ruby Soho, and the NEW AEW Women’s World Champion, Toni Storm. How does it feel this time around to be champion? Oh, c’mon, look at her! She’s having a great time! She has the world title, the world’s best friends, and she couldn’t be doing any better. A lot of people say she’s just very lucky, but luck’s got nothing to do with this. Toni’s been wrestling since she was 13 years old, a child really! Over half her life! That’s because she’s been all over the world, carrying everyone’s bags and doing everything she can to get to this point.
The Outcasts look around this locker room, and they see no one who could carry Toni’s bags. Ruby says Toni is being very humble. No one anywhere could match Toni’s work ethic. Toni is gracing the AEW fans with her presence during the House Rules live shows. And she’ll even defend this title. That is what a fighting champion does! Oh so humble! Saraya loves Toni so much. But really, there is really no one worthy of carrying Toni’s bags. Not at all. But they’ll keep looking out. And as for “luck,” the only lucky ones are the fans. Who will be “lucky” enough to have some #ToniTime this summer?

The Galaxy’s Greatest made perhaps the greatest return possible, answering the open challenge of the cocky Jade Cargill. Not only did she end Jade’s reign, she ended the undefeated streak! But will Kris regret putting it all on the line so soon? Or will she start her own incredible reign?
The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see if Mama Statlander holds onto her baby!
The bell rings and fans rally as the two tie up. The two are in a deadlock, but then they break. Kris shoves Nyla, they tie up again, and they go around. Nyla puts Kris in a corner, the ref counts, and Nyla lets off. Kris dodges the cheap shot to fire off forearms! Nyla dodges to get some air, but Kris SHOTGUNS Nyla down! Fans fire up, Kris is after Nyla but the scoop doesn’t work. Nyla scoops Kris but she slips free to scoop again! Nyla is still really big, and she scoops Kris to SLAM her! SENTON flops as Kris moves! Kris wraps on the body scissors! Nyla endures, those knee braces are right in the ribs!
Nyla scrambles, gets the ROPEBREAK, and Kris lets go. Kris storms up but Nyla shoulders into her! And bumps her off the buckles! Kris falls and Nyla stalks her. Nyla kicks Kris around, drags her up, and brings her over to ropes. Kris fights the suplex and tries to suplex Nyla! Nyla CLUBS Kris, CLAWS her back, but Kris fights with body shots! Fans rally and Kris still tries a suplex. Nyla knees low, brings Kris around, and snap suplexes her into buckles! We see Taya Valkyrie is watching backstage, surely upset that she didn’t get the TBS title off Jade. Nyla grins as she soaks up the heat and Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Nyla taunts Kris, drags her up, and then bumps her off buckles. Nyla stomps Kris, digs her boots in, but the ref counts. Nyla has Kris on the apron before she lets off. Nyla then puts Kris on the ropes to CHOKE and even bend back! Nyla puppets Kris’ mouth, but lets off as the ref counts. Kris flounders, Nyla brings her up to suplex! Cover, ONE!! Nyla grows frustrated, but she stands on Kris before getting a leg. HALF CRAB! Kris endures, reaches out, but Nyla talks trash while she CLUBS away on the knee! Kris crawls, ROPEBREAK! Nyla lets go, Kris goes to a corner, but Nyla RAMS into her!
Nyla pulls the leg against ropes! The ref counts, Nyla lets off and Kris hobbles to another corner. Nyla is after her in the corner with body shots! Nyla then goes corner to corner to ELBOW Kris, and LARIAT! Cover, TWO! Nyla keeps Kris down with a chinlock. Kris endures the knee in the back, fans rally up, and Kris fights, only for Nyla to CLUB her in the chest! Nyla clamps onto the arms to keep Kris down, but still Kris fights. Fans rally, kris throws body shots and elbows, but Nyla CHOP BLOCKS! Kris falls, Nyla gets that leg, and has a modified Half Crab! Kris endures, so Nyla stomps away on the leg before going back to the Crab!
Dynamite returns to single picture as Kris fights with her free leg. Nyla lets go, Kris kips up, but Nyla CLOBBERS her! Cover, TWO!! Kris is still in this but Nyla runs, only to miss the splash! Kris runs to DISCUS LARIAT! Nyla stays up to Kris LARIATS again, ROCKS Nyla and ROUNDHOUSES her! Fans fire up with Kris and she runs in at the corner, UPPERCUT! Kris goes side to side, KNEE! Nyla staggers, Kris brings her in, BLUE THUNDER BOMB!! Cover, TWO!! Nyla survives and Kris is surprised! But Kris pounds the mat and fans rally with her. Kris drags Nyla to a drop zone and climbs up the corner.
Kris reaches the top but Nyla trips her up! Kris hits the buckles on the way down! Nyla runs in to SPLASH! Kris sits down, Nyla calls her shot and runs again, but Kris bails out! Fans sing Judas for Jericho, but Saraya still calls them all losers. The teams sort out and Jericho starts against Cole. Cole and Jericho fire off hands right at the bell! Cole fires back, Jericho ROCKS him, then puts him in a corner, Jericho ROCKS Cole again and again, whips corner to corner, and Jericho clotheslines! Fans are torn but Saraya says they better cheer! The ref counts, Saraya lets off to step back inside and they argue. Jericho talks trash on Britt but she swipes at him! Cole protests but Saraya stomps Britt down.
Saraya drags Britt up to snap suplex! Cover, TWO! Saraya argues with the ref but the count was fair. Saraya drags Britt into a chinlock stretch but Britt endures. Fans rally, Britt fights up, but Saraya CLUBS her back down! Saraya brings Britt around, CLUBS her, then Saraya “tags” Jericho again. Jericho spells it out, “D! M! Saraya STOMPS Britt! The ref reprimands everyone, but Saraya goes to her corner. Cole tunes up the band as he aims at Jericho. Jericho stands, Cole rushes in, CODE BREAKER hits first!! Cover, TWO!!! Cole survives and Jericho can’t believe it! Jericho and Cole throw forearms back and forth and fans rally up. They stand, CHOP and forearm on repeat, and Cole gets the edge! Cole whips, Jericho reverses but DOUBLE LARIATS collide!
Saraya and Britt shout for Jericho and Cole, both men crawl for their corners. Hot tag to Saraya and Britt jumps in! Britt and Saraya fire off forearms! Can Cole & Britt finally move on from The Wizard and his schemes to go get themselves some gold?
My Thoughts:
A very good aftermath show for AEW after only a very good Double or Nothing. Good promos from Kris Statlander, Wardlow and MJF to follow their title wins. A little surprising that Kris had her first defense so soon but I suppose this gets it out of the way, and it gets Kris going on doing her best to match Jade’s streak. Taya watching backstage makes some sense, and I sense her turning Heel over being denied twice. Sadly, I think Taya is going to go 0-3 for the TBS Champion, because if she didn’t beat Jade, she’s not going to beat the person who beat Jade. And I do appreciate that Wardlow is calling out Luchasaurus, he’s being a proactive champion.
MJF of course isn’t, he’s just expecting AEW to find somebody. But I feel like, with Tony Khan letting us know CM Punk IS returning, that’s just the natural course of things for the world title. AEW Collision’s success is not fully dependent on CM Punk being back, but it will definitely incentivize Chicago fans to show up. But I love that there were plenty of fans who hated that news as there were who loved it in San Diego. And MJF VS Punk is an obvious route given how the Pillars he cheated at Double or Nothing are now going to other stories in the meantime. Sammy was the only absent one, but he’s surely preparing to be a parent.
Darby & Cassidy had an awesome tag match with The Gates of Agony, and I figured Darby & Cassidy would win. Swerve also won an awesome Triple Threat against Bill and Trent, and of course Swerve is moving on to a title. I feel like Swerve should be the one to dethrone Cassidy. He’s got The Mogul Embassy to help him cheat so that technically keeps Cassidy strong, and then Swerve can bring that title into a feud with Darby or in whatever finish we FINALLY get of Swerve VS Keith Lee. Then Jungle Boy returns to teaming with Hook just because there’s no other singles title open. JungleHook VS LFI is still going to be fun, and maybe we get Jungle Boy VS Rush. But honestly, I almost thought JB was gonna turn on Hook there. Heel Jack Perry taking the FTW Championship could be pretty cool.
Great promo from Bullet Club Gold and then great brawl with FTR and Starks. Starks VS White is going to end things one way or another, but I feel like it has to be White’s win. Then BCG VS FTR can be for the AEW World Tag Team Championships going into All In London. Speaking of titles, Championship Rampage is loaded, though I’m surprised there wasn’t just another Battle of the Belts special. I wonder if Battle of the Belts goes away with Collision being on Saturdays. Pretty sure all champions retain, though, because NONE of those titles are AEW property. Also, I feel that’s irresponsible to automatically say it’s Shibata VS Moriarty when Shibata VS Coughlin is airing tomorrow night on ROH.
The Acclaimed had a good promo with Renee on stage, and I figured they’d stick together and try again. They’ll probably choose a Open House Rules stipulation next time, I look forward to something wild from them. Really good promo from The Outcasts, and Storm could face just about anyone in her first defense of the world title. From how things went in the main event, pretty sure it’s Shida since she is still fighting against The Outcasts. Britt & Cole of course win against Jericho & Saraya, but that was a pretty fun Mixed Tag. And if Shida doesn’t beat Storm, I bet we get Britt VS Storm at like All Out or something.
Great opener of BCC VS Lucha Bros & Bandido, and Bryan was pretty good on commentary. I figured BCC would win, they’re going to keep things rolling from Double or Nothing. And good promo from The Elite and Dark Order, because it kept up the continuity from over the years. Hangman saying Kenny was out of the country but not in Canada totally hints at him being in Japan to reconnect with Kota Ibushi, which is definitely the next phase of this. Elite plus Ibushi VS BCC plus Konosuke, Blood & Guts, that has to be it. And speaking of, Callis and Konosuke had a great promo, especially factoring in that nuclear Heel heat Callis has. Like, every other Heel wishes they had the level of booing, jeering and middle fingers Callis had aimed at him.
