The Hollywood A-Lister (and newly crowned Intercontinental Champion) teams with the undefeated Empress of Tomorrow to represent Rescue Dogs Rock. Meanwhile, a Positively FABULOUS combination represents KaBOOM! Which duo will defeat the other to then test themselves against Team “Demon Boss” in the second round?

The teams work out who starts, and it will be Big E and The Miz first. The bell rings, and the fans rally with “New! Day Rocks!” already. Carmella claps along while Big E and Miz circle. The men tie up, Miz gets a waistlock but Big E just bumps and grinds. He then throws Miz off his back, and swivels those hips. Miz runs at Big E but misses, and gets caught in the abdominal stretch. Big E gets the fans into it, then starts up the “New! Day Spanks!” Miz endures the embarrassment, then Big E whips him to run him over with a back elbow. Miz rolls to his corner while Carmella applauds her partner. The fans say “We Want Asuka!” so Miz obliges as he tags The Empress in. The Princess of Staten Island has to come in by default, but she’s reluctant. She slowly enters the ring and the two women circle. Asuka swings one kick and Carmella goes running and screaming to her corner! Ms. Money in the Bank wants Asuka to stay back. Big E has an idea: “Give her this L!” A giant foam L. Carmella takes the L, and Big E gets the fans to chant “Take This L!” Carmella builds up courage, and brings that L over to Asuka. Asuka is flattered Carmella wants to give her her first L, and she kindly takes it. She thanks Carmella for the L, and then BREAKS IT!

Carmella hurries back to her corner and tags Big E in. The Miz has no choice but to enter, too. Big E side steps Miz and sends him to the apron. Big E then runs, but into Miz’s boot! Miz reenters while Big E staggers back, and Miz stomps away. The new IC Champ swaggers about while fans boo and jeer. Miz mocks the “New! Day Rocks!” clap, then he runs, only for Big E to catch him and throw him overhead! Big E throws Miz again, whips Miz and then throws him with the belly2belly! Big E runs and gives the Big Splash! He’s not done there, he keeps the fans clapping as he stalks Miz. He grabs Miz for the Big Ending, but Miz slips out and kicks low to hit the low DDT! Carmella breaks the cover, but Asuka makes her pay with a sharp kick. Miz gets up, and hears the fans chant “YES! YES!” So together, Miz and Asuka unload “It Kicks!”

Miz then Asuka and back to Miz, they kick Carmella and Big E over and over, with the fans chanting over and over. They prepare the buzzsaws, Asuka hits hers on Carmella, and then Miz gets blocked! Big E lifts for the powerbomb but Miz slips out to boot him down. Cover, TWO! Miz puts Big E in a chinlock while we see Rusev & Lana watching and reacting backstage. Big E endures the squeeze, but gets to his feet. Big E fights out of the hold, but Miz hits him with the A-List combination! Cover, TWO, and Miz grows annoyed. Carmella cheers Big E on as Miz gets up and boots him down. Miz mocks Carmella but backs off to boot Big E again. Asuka likes what she sees as Miz runs and boots Big E again. Fans rally while Miz jumps on Big E. Big E slowly fires up, even as Miz unloads left hand haymakers. He gives back body shots but Miz uses the second rope to hotshot him down. The referee reprimands Miz while Carmella rallies the fans once again. Miz keeps on Big E with a facelock, but Big E powers him off. Big E runs into Miz knee, but then dodges the Awesome Clothesline. Asuka tags in so the ladies go at it. Asuka rallies, and hits the hip attack! Miz rallies Asuka up, they fire up together, FABULOUS Kick from Carmella! Asuka gets to a corner and Carmella unloads furious punches and stomps. She moonwalks back, then runs in for the FABULOUS Bronco Buster. Miz coaches Asuka up, Carmella gets cocky and that only fuels the fire. Carmella slaps Asuka, Asuka back hands Carmella over and over!

Asuka enthusiastically answers in Japanese, Miz “translates” by saying that Asuka has learned more about being a champion from Miz than from anyone ever. Miz inspires her, Miz mentors her–“Do you know what this means?! My hand goes up, your mouths go shut!”–and they will dominate this Mixed Match Challenge for the sake of Rescue Dogs Rock. Why?
