WWE TV Deal Update, Is FOX Done With UFC?

According to Dave Meltzer, there are rumors floating around that the partnership between FOX and the UFC could be done. Meltzer says that FOX did make UFC an offer but they now look to be more interested in WWE.

Its worth noting that UFC wanted reportedly $450 million from FOX. FOX could get WWE for similar money as the number UFC wants. WWE would provide them with higher ratings for their Raw and Smackdown Live shows.

If FOX did pick up WWE it’s been speculated that Raw could move to two hours. This would happen of course, if they decided to put Raw on FOX and not on cable.

My Thoughts:

Folks this is high level chess being played by multiple companies. This report looks like something UFC would leak, as they know FOX doesn’t want to lose out on both companies. If this is leaked by them they could push FOX back to the negoiating table. Right now it appears as if WWE holds all the card with two companies in a bidding war and UFC pushed to the side. The absolute worst case scenario for UFC is for FOX to ink a deal with WWE. This would now put FOX in a position to lowball an offer to keep UFC or make UFC find a new partner. With NBCU wanting PG programming, they could be in a tough spot. While both sides say they aren’t rivals, I bet UFC isn’t a big fan of WWE right now.
