AJPW Champion Carnival Boasts Improved Attendance
Much like the title implies, the numbers are in! AJPW hasn’t been able to do much boasting in recent years, but we’re looking at something interesting here. Now I’m not sure if these are inflated because they featured Shingo Takagi (Dragon Gate) and Naomichi Marufuji (NOAH), but regardless of the why, the result is what matters.

Attendance increased by 52% for the overall Carnival. Which is even more impressive since they ran four more events than last year, and still averaged higher per event numbers.
So we see the Japanese fans are buying in to caring more about the product, they released their streaming service ajpw.tv late last month which helps appeal to the rest of the world as well as, moving into a future containing less tension with Pro Wrestling NOAH.
Thoughts: Whenever you see an upward trajectory for wrestling companies it’s nice, but can they maintain it. The Super Power series starts May 12th, so let’s keep an eye open for fan reception. It would be nice for AJPW to return to a state of prominence though.
