Former Superstar Spotted At WWE’s Hotel This Morning
Since his surprise return to the WWE after a near five year absence at the Royal Rumble in January, there has been no shortage of speculation surrounding former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio and a possible return to the company. There have been reports ranging from Mysterio being John Cena’s opponent at WrestleMania to negotiations still ongoing, with nobody really giving anything tangible on the situation. Rey has since suffered an injury that forced him to pull out of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Strong Style Evolved on March 26hth, leaving any possible comeback to WWE in doubt.
Today, Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that Mysterio was spotted at the WWE’s hotel this morning in New Orleans, as he was in town for a signing at WrestleCon.
EA’s Take: There has been so much “is he or isn’t he” regarding Mysterio over the last couple of months that it’s nearly impossible to tell what’s really going on. I’m sure some will jump to the conclusion that this means he’s definitely returning to WWE, but I don’t feel that’s the case. It could be something as simple as he was just visiting friends at their hotel. I’m not jumping the gun on anything regarding Rey at this point.
