Jerry Lawler Addresses Talk About Cause Of His Recent Stroke
As we previously reported, WWE Hall Of Famer Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler had revealed he suffered a minor stroke (which you can read here) just prior to calling the action for the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal during the WrestleMania 34 Kickoff on April 8th. ‘The King’ would go into further detail on his Dinner With The King Podcast (which you can find here). On the latest episode, Lawler addressed the talk that he suffered the stroke due to having sex with his girlfriend:
“It didn’t happen actually basically while having sex. The stroke happened because I hadn’t been taking my blood pressure medicine for about a month. It was going to happen anytime my blood pressure went to a certain level. For most people when they do something they really enjoy or something strenuous their blood pressure goes up. That’s what happened. It was about the blood pressure medicine and not taking it. That’s what the doctors all said. I was not taking the blood pressure medicine. It went too high and it caused a hemorrhage in my brain. My blood pressure was 240 something over 140 something. It was something crazy. Everybody made a big deal about the sex; but, it wasn’t about that.”
