Daniel Bryan Not Injured, Faces Shinsuke Nakamura After 205 Live
As it was noted on last night’s WWE SmackDown Live, our commentary team announced that Daniel Bryan was not medically cleared to compete due to the nasty bruises on his chest following Friday’s Greatest Royal Rumble event. Tom Phillips would state Bryan was not cleared due to a risk of infection and some fans were left wondering if this was in fact legitimate, however we now know that was all storyline. According to those in attendance, when 205 Live went off the air last night, the evening’s dark main event would see Bryan go one-on-one with Shinsuke Nakamura.
PWInsider is reporting that the contest went roughly ten minutes, then ended as Bryan delivered the Yes Kicks before Nakamura surprised him with a low blow to cause the disqualification. After the bell, Shinsuke would set Bryan up for the Kinshasa, but was off the mark, leading to the leader of the Yes Movement scoring with the flying knee to send the crowd home happy.
